Dear ANet.
Not sure if there’s a topic like this already, haven’t seen one but… Would you please consider to make the pets dodge/evade when the character itself does? (Atleast for PvE. Almost never played PvP so I have no idea how it would affect that aspect of the game). When your pet dies, it’s a huge dps loss. A great example of this is Tazza in SE path 1. Your pet dies all the time, even though you use dodges or evades to stay alive yourself. Your pet dies. And you get punished by doing a good job evading the AoE’s. Another example is our beloved Giganticus Lupicus.
I have to say that i LOVE the changes for the ranger that you made (again, it’s great for PvE atleast. Seen a lot of players whine about rangers being OP in WvW/PvP. But keep it like this for PvE. Please.)
But… Please ANet, make this happen. My panther is tired of dying now.

Yeah, that’s the thing – Not everyone runs bearbow though. There are a few of us that actually go with greatsword + sword/warhorn and who actually are good at it. Makes me sad that the ’’bad’’ rangers gives the rest of us bad reputation…

As a main ranger, I’m really sad to see all hate on rangers. It’s close to impossible to find a group using the LFG tool. Sure, I get it that people dont want the bearbow rangers in their group. But what about the rest of us, that can actually handle the ranger and the one handed sword? The ones who use full Berserker’s gear, spotter and frost spirit that actually adds a little something to the group? I’m almost 100% sure that most people don’t even know that rangers (if played right) actually are good. They have just seen too many posts telling them something else.
Once I get in a group, most people say ‘’Wow, I didn’t know rangers could be good’’. It’s a fact. Rangers are good. The DPS is quite high aswell. And, they bring a little something to the group with spotter and frost spirit. When are you guys going to give us, the good rangers, a chance? Allow rangers in your groups, but check their gear/weapons used first. I’m begging you. :c

So, for some odd reason I cant claim my WvW reward chest. I’ve tried to talk to Battle Historian in every single borderland. I just transferred from Fort Aspenwood (NA) to Desolation (EU). Not sure if that has anything to do with it. But as of now, I cant get my WvW reward chest.

Am I the only one who would kill to see this in Guild Wars 2 aswell? My question is, would it actually work, as it did in Guild Wars 1? What would the pros/cons be? Would it work with the class setups, with the dodge system etc? Or would it be as with any other dungeon – a faceroll. ?
I ran duo UW runs for people that were either too lazy or coudn’t do it themselves. I made 1.2k ectos doing that in a few months. >Might of been more, not sure.
Anyhow, I don’t see us getting anything of the level of UW or FOW. The first time I stepped into UW I was one shotted, I stepped in on my first character a Ranger. No idea what to expect.
I can’t see any form of UW/FOW being implemented in a respectful matter of what it were in GW1. It would just be a “harder” dungeon with a daily reward and in a few weeks there would be a optimal tactic out online. And because of the Gems>gold/Gold>gems. There would be no meaningful reward. GW2 is a pure themepark MMO with no room for anything but strict systems and DR. It’s the sad truth and why I have not played for a month.
I played for about two weeks after the feature pack, went from 60 gold to 300. But the boring routine of doing the same dungeons over and over, and the world bosses got old pretty quick.
I just don’t see any kind of content being fun and rewarding enough like it were in GW1. If it gives too much rewards it will be nerfed and result in people doing something else.
The Auction House is the cause of this IMO. You can’t have rewarding content because the items will simply be cheap. Because of the global auction house.
In GW1 I was aiming to buy the Polar bear. I managed to buy a Identified one for my ectos. It was way more rewarding for me than getting my two legendaries in GW2.
This. I still hope for something similar to FoW/UW though… A challenging dungeon that is permanent. But then again, i doubt it would be any harder than the current dungeons, the dodge function is what makes everything so easy. Especially with vigor & superior sigil of energy.

I found a way around this, it doesn’t work when there are lots of players around though. If you let the skritt thieves kill the veteran harpy, without you touching it. It will succeed. All you have to do is to res the skritt thieves getting killed. It’s hard though, because ppl will always attack the veteran.

I’ve been ’’lucky’’ enough to be able to reset the event around 5-6 times. What makes me sad though is that it doesn’t really matter, the event gets stuck once you killed the veteran anyway, no matter what i try…

So, the harpy event ‘’Defend the skritt thieves while they steal harpy eggs’’ is bugged out. I’m on Fort Aspenwood, not quite sure if that matters anymore though because of the megaserver. Haven’t seen any other post about it, delete it if there is one.

So, the title says it all. We currently recruit swedish members only, we’re tired of running dungeons with ‘pugs’. The server doesn’t matter as long as you’re on the NA servers!!! We’re a PvE based guild, speedruns are being done every day, so be somewhat experienced.
The reason why we are on the NA servers is because it suits our schedule way better due to work and stuff. We’re pretty much online at all times till the end of october though.

I love the players trying to defend this action, just because you’re sitting there with a kittenload of karma. It was about time they did something about the karma incomes, that’s for sure. But this… this.. this is a huge step in the wrong direction!

I’ve got 2 legendaries which i worked hard for to get, it took me quite some time, i’ve played actively since release. I did my daily dungeon runs, flipped some items on the trading post and ran some events in Orr. I’m now going for my third legendary with currently 1,2k karma on my account. I just bought the obsidian shards needed for the clovers, it took me 230 shards (~490k karma). I wasted ALOT of time getting the mats and all i need is obsidian shards. Oh well, i guess it’s going to take me another 2 months to get it now, since the karma income is a joke. Players aren’t doing events in the open world, so the karma income for trying to do that with 3-4 other players is pathetic. What they’re doing is champ farming, which doesn’t result in any karma whatsoever.

I don’t know what server you are on, but “players aren’t doing events in the open world” is completely inaccurate on my High (high, not very high) population server. There are events, champions, temples and world bosses being done every where I go, from low level to high level zones. I’ve never seen the world so active, at least not since launch.

Yea, that’s the thing. The open world is pretty much dead. It’s nowhere near as many people running around as on launch. Doing events all by myself, or in best case with 3-4 other players is going to take ages. All that is done out there is champ farming which doesn’t result in any karma.
I do my daily dungeon runs, and find it weird i don’t get any karma whatsoever by doing so… The game is once again forcing me to do something i really dont like – WvW. I’m a hardcore PvE player…

So, all i need for my legendary is karma, then i’m done. The problem is – How the **** do i get karma? Orr? Oh wait, there are literally NO PLAYERS DOING EVENTS IN ORR ON MY SERVER, or any server for that matter. Dungeons? Nope, the karma canisters are removed from the rewards for some odd reason. Champion farming? Nah, there are no canisters droped from the champion bags either, which i, in one way, completely understand.
Tips&Help would be more than appreciated!

I have to agree with OP. I’d much rather run around with items contained by completing challenging content than running around with my legendaries, making players think ‘’Wow, he managed to get that weapon.. how the *?!’’ Rather than ‘’Oh well.. yet another guy who’s playing around on the trading post a few hours a day..’’
Legendaries aren’t hard to get. Time consuming? Yes, but challenging? No way. We need items that are actually hard to get your hands on without having to spend thousands of gold.
And i’m saying this as a trading post freak…

As soon as it gets a little bit more… difficult, people will always cry. Players don’t want to do all paths of a dungeon, they only want to do the easy one to get their rewards as easy and fast as possible. Which is sad, i hope they keep the changes. This is the first time in months that i’ve visited gw2lfg without seeing ‘’LF3M ZERK WARRIORS PING OR KICK’’ all over the site, which is kittening awesome. I love it.
Lazy people will always be lazy. Get your crap together and try some different paths for exchange, i promise you that you won’t get bored as fast.
I don’t think zerk warriors were farming tokens, and even if you run all three paths, you still get less tokens than before.
Also, this change wont make people run the disliked paths. It’ll just make less people run paths in general.Also also, I don’t think running all three paths on multiple characters makes you lazy, which is what quite a few people that I know did when they wanted tokens.
They didn’t farm tokens, no. But it gave you a kitten ton of tokens to spend. The point is – It forces players to play more than one dungeon a day, more than one path over and over a day. You’d get 360..ish tokens a day, and a decent amount of gold. Don’t forget that you can craft/buy your armor aswell.
With the current changes implemented, attaining 360 of the same tokens in one day would require one to run all three paths of that dungeon 4 repetitive times in a row, in theory, totaling in 12 consecutive runs of the same dungeon. Although, that isn’t even considering any additional diminishing returns you might hit after the second run for 20 tokens, in which case the number of runs would increase by much larger amounts after each following run. The only ideal amount of tokens the average willing player will now ever save in the period of one day is no more than 180 total tokens for 3 runs of a single dungeon.
There isn’t just one dungeon to do, right? Apparently you don’t get it. For example, if you want the zerker armor, you do CoF path 1-3, doesn’t take you that long. That gives you 180 tokens, ~3g and some mats. After that, head over to CoE and do path 1-3, that gives you another 180 tokens (that would be 360 tokens in total), ~3g and some mats. You will most likely get some rares aswell. 360 tokens and 6g, that’s ~4 zerker parts (atleast 3) in 2 hours, how’s that not good enough for you? If you’re smart you buy the chest & shorts since you need most tokens for these parts and therefore you wont have to spend as many days doing this.
Seriously? That is the best you can do? Run other dungeons? What if I don’t want to run other dungeons? Why would I run dungeons I don’t like the armor of? If I like a specific dungeon;s armor, I will run that dungeon as much as I please. You cannot force me to run dungeons I have nothing to gain from. This line of arguing is just such bullkitten.

If you’re not doing it just for the skin, ofcourse. I admit, i didn’t think of it like that since players complained about not getting exotics for their alts.
But then again, i didn’t get the skins i wanted in a day or two, took me quite some time to get it. 180 tokens a day, it will take you a week to get the skin you want. It’s not that bad if you ask me.

This is what i used through all the fights, try it out! I found it pretty easy!
The tactic is pretty straight forward, keep swiftness up with the staff as much as you can. Knockdown/Weakness, swap to sword/focus for more dps if needed, once the dps from the sword is on CD, use the defensive focus skills if needed and swap back to your staff.

Alright thank you guys! After 21 tries, i finally made it using scepter/focus + sword/shield! Shield #5 really helped sometimes to get some health up and also to push those ’’minions’’ away when they got too close!

this is what i use for wvw, roaming. Takes some time getting used to it, but once you do.. you should be able to ’’burst’’ pretty much anyone down!

I got my ranger up to FoTM 52, and i’m doing just fine. Haven’t seen a single complaint by any of my group members. The reason why everybody hates on rangers is because most people play them WRONG. Sadly, it affects all of us… Rangers aren’t bad, if the player knows how to handle one. So all the talk about ‘’uhh every ranger suck’’ is complete bs.

footsteps is not something i care about too much. But they could, and they should, improve the other animation effects on that weapon. I’m very dissapointed with my Minstrel!

Anyone else having issues trying to enter a dungeon with your group? Been trying whole night since the patch came out and i haven’t been able to do a single dungeon in hours. I’ve met alot of players with the same problem – Nothing happens when you press ‘’Enter Explorable mode’‘. And believe me, i’ve tried everything – Rejoined the party, relogged, used waypoints, restarted my computer, tried with other groups. Nothing works. I’m not sure if there’s already a topic about this, but it has to be fixed.

So, the title says it all. I need some help, i see mesmers all over the game, everyone with the same setup. I havent seen that many go with the swords. Would be awesome if you could help me setup a s/s build for pve. I dont really care what ’’type’’ of build it is. I just want the 2 swords in there..

Jesus.. It’s all about luck? Comeon guys… Use www.gw2spidy.com, flip items on the trading post for a profit, exotics are hard to flip (put buy orders when you start the game, sell the items you’ve bought when you’re about to stop to play). Most players are focusing on doing one dungeon that they feel are the easiest one, AC for example. I only have 1 character at lvl 80 and i almost have my second legendary. Try to do more than 1 dungeon a day, all paths, the ones you can buy lvl 68+ rares from with the tokens, salvage them. Save the other tokens for the lower lvl dungeons and buy exotic greatswords for example, when you have 4 of them, put them in the mystic forge, you might be lucky. Do ‘’Ori Runs’‘, takes you about an hour, gets you ~3.5g, it’s a good way if you have more than 1 lvl 80. Another way is to do CoF ’’speedruns’’. CoF P1 is a great way of making money, it will take you 10 minutes maximum each run. Sure, the DR will start after a few runs, but the money from bosses/chests will still be the same. So when the DR hit the max, you will still get ~40s per run (with omnomberry bars). 40s/5-10minutes + loot (chance of molten cores/lodestones) is great. It’s not all about luck, ignore those who says that it is. And yes, you can make money by crafting specific items aswell, search for those items at www.gw2spidy.com!Good luck getting your legendary!

If you want to level to 80 just crafting there is no need to ask which is the cheapest. You will need to master all 8 crafts.
You’re right, was in a hurry while making the thread! So lets put it this way, which are the most expensive professions? I’d be glad to craft through 50 levels aswell. I just cant be arsed to level one up all the way

The title says it all. But i could need your guys help! Is there any guide ‘up-to-date’ for doing this? A list of the 6-8 cheapest crafting professions?
I’ve seen alot of guides out there, but none of them are up-to-date, unfortunately.
All i know is that Chef is cheap due to all Karma-items you can use.
How much do you think it will cost? (would be great not to exceed 100g, if possible)
What professions should i go for?
Will the Crafting Boosters help me, alot? Worth getting a few?

So, the title kind of says it all. I’ve been going with a dual dagger build since the start. I’ve started to get a bit bored, so i’m currently trying to make a good S/F – build. The problem is – i can’t for my life come up with a decent working one. Therefore i search for your opinions and experiences with these two weapons. The reason to why i want to play with S/F is pretty simple, i barely see any Elementalists using it. I mean, is it really that bad? It can’t be! I mostly play PvE (Dungeons) so that’s my main goal with the build, but would also like to use a build with these weapons for PvP (WvW).

I haven’t seen a mesmer phantasm using a staff. Does that matter such a staff doesn’t exist? I’d rather get that staff (if it exists) than Bifrost.
