Bunk rev is OP! Does nothing to change strat Delete it!!!!
I like how you speak truth yet no one comes. -A bunk rev
It is a L2P issue…. A bunk rev can be 1v1ed and killed. I hear a lot of complaining, that you can’t just use the same old tactics for a new type of enemy.
Is getting the Factal Reliquary worth what it can give you?
these seem a lot better than what we have currently, more useful and more enjoyable. For the crystal haze, it could be a pulsing aoe slow or freeze or something along those lines.
Yeah I didnt think of that. Make it a good Slow/Chill or something with maybe some dmg could work.
I’m not sure if anyone has already suggested this, but why not re-balance the legends by making them closer to their GW1 counterparts? I’ve listed the Legend’s GW1 skills as utilities to see how they might be used in GW2. I didn’t quite go into numbers with my conversion suggestions, but the game play difference would be really fun!
Shiro Utilities:
Battle Scars – Stance. (7 seconds.) Shiro’s attacks gain life stealing equal to the highest damage he takes while in this stance.
Echoing Banishment – Shout. Target foe is banished to the mists and his spirit bound to Shiro. If the Spirit Binder is destroyed, the spirit is freed. (Prob make this a taunt)
Impossible Odds – Skill. (10 seconds.) All Shiro’s attacks are double strikes and hit nearby foes. Shiro transfers conditions from himself to foes he hits. Initial effect: removes all hexes from Shiro. (Would be amazing for condi cleanse)
Meditation of the Reaper – Skill. (30 seconds.) Shiro meditates and absorbs the next 500 damage. When this skill ends, Shiro steals 20 Health from all foes for each second this skill was active. (Would be an interesting heal)
Riposting Shadows – Stance. (20 seconds.) Shiro Shadow Steps to the next foe who attacks target and attempts a return attack. If this attack hits, Riposting Shadows is renewed. (Would probably have to change this to a block with the same functionality.)
8Mallyx Utilities:*
Banish Enchantment – Spell. All enchantments are removed from target foe. For each enchantment removed in this way, one skill is disabled on all foes (6 seconds). (Should probably make it disable 1 utility skill or interrupt on target)
Consume Torment – Skill. All conditions and hexes are removed from caster. For each condition or hex removed in this way, caster gains 300 Health. (Good heal, similar to necro)
Shadow Smash – If this creature’s attack hits, target foe takes an additional 150 damage and Shadow Steps in a random direction. (Single target shadow step would be fun gameplay)
Summoning Shadows – Skill. (3 seconds.) End effect: all of caster’s foes Shadow Step to positions adjacent to the caster. (This is basically the old Unyielding Anguish which is nice for pvp! but I can see people hating it)
Wild Smash – Attack. Causes knock-down. Ends a stance and disables it (5 seconds). Unblockable. (Nice to have another CC)
Glint Utilities:
Crystal Bonds – Hex Spell. (monster only) Remove 1 enchantment. Target foe has reduced movement (15 seconds) and may not be the target of enchantments. (Nice Boon denial with movement impair)
Crystal Haze – Hex Spell. (monster only) (30 seconds.) Also affects foes near target. Causes -1 Energy degeneration. Causes 10 Overcast whenever foes use an Energy skill.
(This one would be tricky to convert over into GW2. Suggestions?)
Crystal Hibernation – Skill. (monster only) (20 seconds.) You gain +7 Health regeneration. Converts incoming non-physical damage to healing. (Make this similar to the Herald’s shield? Great vs power builds.)
Jagged Crystal Skin – Stance. (monster only) (10 seconds.) 100 damage to foes near you whenever you take physical damage. (This would basically be an additional retaliation vs power builds)
Jalis Utilities:
Dwarven Battle Stance – Elite Stance. (5…10…11 seconds.) You attack 33% faster, you gain +40 armor, and your attack skills interrupt actions. No effect unless you have a hammer equipped. (Amazing Interrupt skill)
Crude Swing – (really just a hammer attack. What we already have could work.)
Mighty Blow – (really just a hammer attack. What we already have could work.)
“I Will Avenge You!” – Shout. You have +3…6…7 Health regeneration and attack 25% faster (10 seconds for each dead ally). (Could make this give a heal per dead/downed ally, Quickness, and might)
Ventari didn’t quite have skills shown from the wiki, but I’d go more into pure protection, healing, maybe even some extra downed player health heals rather than dps, along with the nice CC the elite already has.
Reported for insider information
Is there anywhere that will tell us how many people actually play Rev?
What parts are you having trouble with?
what traits are you using with that?
I’m not so impressed with the new elite Specialization that rev has. The others seem much more effective. What do you think would be changed and in what game type are you talking about?
I’ve seen some posts about not having chill which on one of its skills seem like it should…, But hey aNet can still make changes right?
the real question is will “barrier” be included since it will go on some core specializations.
I don’t use the metabattle build. I made my own for the pure purpose of decap/bunking. I made it to plat 3 issuing the build.
Does your decay from not playing x amount of days affect top 250 ranking?
I don’t use mallyx, but it is possible. I’ve gotten to rank 18 with a similar build.
I deleted the Infused Living Crystal thinking that i wouldn’t need it just like most other collections. I heard that you need to keep the items you make during the collections. Is this true? Can I get the item back (remake it)?
Hammer rev makes a better ranged dps than longbow ranger.
That’s kinda crazy….
It’s 100% a short bow.
I’m not saying your wrong, but in the leak I didn’t see it specify. Where did it say?
Do we know what kind of bow for sure it is yet?
Do we know for sure its a shortbow? Or can it still be longbow?
I dont mind that it doesn’t require a target, but now I often shoot past players. The targeting should go back to how it was or have more of a middle ground.
I’m using leadership scavenger with sage and it’s nice. Thank you aNet…. Really! <3
How is it broken or worse now?
I normally run Glint/Jalis specifically for the Vengeful hammers and Forced Engagement.
Inspiring Reinforcement is good for stomps, but its a little slow to give stab.
A great combo is Unrelenting Assault from main hand sword with vengeful hammers.
Compared to shiro, I prefer the sustain/flexibility with Jalis.
Anyone know the max solo dps in PvE for a rev compared to other classes?
(edited by orisci.6527)
If the team is using a DPS meter then watch out. A not very good necro can out dps a good rev.
I would prefer aNet not do Tybalt.
I have the same problem! I was so disappointed when I figured it out. RIP achievement points.
Yes. On my thief I’ve beaten 2 of the NPCs and nothing. I tried on my Rev, beat another NPC, but no additional skills.
I beat 2 masters in Belcher’s bluff, but I dont have their skills unlocked. Would anyone mind telling me if theres something I have to do before-hand?
Hey my fellow nerds!
I’m hoping to buy a gaming desktop or parts to build one for about $1,000 USD. I’m not too knowledgeable with GPU and Processor as it relates to GW2. Any of you guys have suggestions?
^ Has a lot of blocks and evades but the stunbreaks are a bit clunky, to say the least.
Take a look at the main (only) playable build: power Herald with Glint/Shiro and Devastation, Invocation and Herald traitlines. You have a good breakstun in Gaze of Darkness, with a 20s cd, but the breakstun from legend swap is situational and sometimes using it throws for 10 seconds the tools you want. And then is the third breakstun, Riposting Shadows, which costs 30 energy units in a skill bar in which everything costs 30+, so you can’t even use all your Shiro skills in a row even if your energy is at max (100 unitsa).
Rev is currently a high risk, low reward class.
I have to agree. There are options for stun breaks, but some are situational and others are high energy cost.
So basically an alternative to thief?
I’m thinking about playing Rev in the new season. I have a decent amount of exp as a Rev. What would you guys say is the “role” of a Rev in PvP with the current balance it has?
Does having a losing match with a DCed player count as harshly against you as if you had no DCed ally?
Hey guys! I thought I’d try and get a list going of people who have beaten the Challenge Mote in hopes of finding parties (that can complete it) easier.
Add your character name below if you want people to add you for more Mote runs.
Revenant Orisci
Aside from Laurels my plan is to buy additional amulets from Ember Bay and salvage.
Is the “Event Reward” you get from beating it the 1st time a “daily”?
are there any neat effects on the weapons?
Is there a current meta for the 100 challenge mote?
I haven’t beaten it yet, but I personally like using the Rev.
There’s a time themed black lion skin and on the TP that might look good. I usually go to the bank and check out the wardrobe to see every possible axe skin.
You should join my stronghold guild. I’m trying to gather the stronghold community since we’re not that big. Should help with queue times and helping players get better.
Revenant Orisci is my main. Send me an in game mail if you’re interested.
Stronghold is a great idea with a serious flaw. Players should ne be able to kill guards. Because of this and this alone, virtually all stronghold matches just become about which team can successfully bomb rush all the way to the lorn in the first couple minutes of the game.
Stronghold was a lot of fun before people figured out rushing was the optimal strategy and the relative uselessness of archers.
If we had to use archers to kill the guards (similar to needing creeps to kill towers in the early game of traditional MOBAs) the game would be a lot more fun.
As it is now, you could almost just take out all the the doors and the game would play almost exactly the same.
Not the best strategy. I got to mid-Diamond by countering that strategy.
I’m stuck in a Catch 22 of sorts. I love Stronghold, and I would play it more often… if more people played it. I don’t want to sit in 10m queues just to get a match against a full premade from a higher division entirely that wrecks house.
thats why i’m trying to find all the people that like Stronghold. Easier time getting queues.
Who all would be interested in a stronghold guild?
I know this community is a small one so I thought I’d find out who else out there loves or likes stronghold more than conquest?
