Do you get all new skills in wow when there is a new expansion? No, you level and at 91 you get a new skill, 92 another etc. This is the same, except no stupid inflation of dmg numbers, no old content being invalidated. It is BRIALLIANT, once you stop and think about it.
Manta Style

Hammer
1 is clunky, but damage is ok. Not supposed to do dps anyway
3 needs to speed up when hitting someone close. Maybe not move so far away for each leap.
2,4,5 are awsome
Gyros
All mobile are really bad. Unsuable and game broken. Blast and shredder at least works but are not that exiting.
Traits
The Funcion Gyro needs to go, how can you make a PvP only class mechanic? That is an unreal design decision!
Make Adaptive Armor the new class mechanic and move it into the minor trait.

1. Chronomancer
Already a deep profession gets a new F5 allowing for even more play. So much potential for skill here now.
2. Reaper
Best theme of all professions. Looks awesome, plays awsome. All around fun.
3. Scrapper
I main an Engineer. Not too exited about this one however. The hammer looks great but the traits are too much PvP niched and the Gyros looks meh.

Why is Rytlock wielding a dagger as a 2hander?

It is a defensive/utility weapon, why do you think it should do the highest dps?
I don’t see anyone calling for highest DPS. I see people saying they don’t want to be forced back into grenade kit if they spec into Scrapper but still want to do damage. I think it’s fair that if you take the +10% hammer damage trait that it is at least equal to grenade auto spam.
I think many Engineers are also tired of our weapons being utilities. I only speak for myself, but I would like a weapon that stands on its own and where you’re not losing out on auto attack damage by not running a kit. Surely Scrappers will still use a kit or two for the utility, but I would like to just use a kit for that purpose: utility. Not my main weapon.
Kits are a big part of the Engineer profession. Have you tried Revenant? It’s really fun.
You have to love the mentality of people that come with this response anytime you point out something you want addressed. No, you can’t expect any issue with a class to be addressed…you simply have to re-roll apparently…at least if you listen to people like this. You should definitely let some other player tell you what to do, instead of use the forums for what they are for…even in this beta period, just re-roll. You should just accept the arbitrary categorization, by this same player, of the new elite specialization weapon as “defensive/utility” …as an excuse as to why the auto is undertuned…don’t bother voicing your concerns…just re-roll.
What issue? That the Grenades, a weapon with no utility does more damage then the Hammer, that has many utility skills?
Btw, you should try the Berserker, you know, rage and all that.

Thanks for the info.
I do not know the purpose/role of the Hammer so I do not really know where in the DPS ranking of Engie weapons it should be placed.
I am curious, how accurate can we know DPS for specs? Is it calculations, or do you test things with timers and combat logs?
Love the new name!
Great name! Much better then Forge
Drones could be anything really. When you think on it, many utilities are very similar
- Minions, you summon them, they do something while active and have an abiltiy each.
- Signets, passive benefit and also an active ability.
- Glint utilities, you turn them on for a benefit, and they have an active ability.
- Mantras, you activate them and they have 2 charges of their active abiltiy, but no passive.
- And I think spirit weapons too are similar.
Anyway drones can be something like this. Looks like a bunch of sheilds from the leaked icons. You summon them they fly around you giving some benefit, then they can land and activate a shield.
Woodenpotatoes cannot be mentioned enough. Superb content, daily videos. Great channel.
Others I like:
Hollts
Wolfineer
Donee MMO Gaming
Don’t introduce Trinity, but some changes are needed I think.
To me it is very boring that all the game content is best done in Berserker gear.
Sometimes I spend some time looking into traits and build for a support build and maybe that would be fun to change things up a bit. Try something new. All the gear, traits etc exists to do it, except game content.
Where would I play it? If I try dungeon I will be kicked. All world PVE/Living Story can be done in Berserker gear. Shadow Behemoth… yeah that would really help!I think the games needs to be rebalanced so that it would be very difficult to play any content solo in Berserker gear. Most mobs today only attack once every 10s or so, to make sure you can doge most of the attacks. I think we should keep these, but also to add some constant damage in between.
That way you could get a support friend and the two of you team up, one DPS with a little support, maybe a Celestial build, the other could go Berserker.
A dungeon group could be 1 support + 4 DPS. Not trinity but at least some more opportunity to play some other builds once in while.
There is no point. Again, the game is based around being solo. One member building a ‘support’ build isn’t going to have any affect on his or her teammates.
Zerker isn’t the Meta for no reason. Zerker is the Meta because the game DEMANDS it.
Everything is damage. Kill as quick as possible. For this you want damage. Zerker is simply the top dog for this.
The game becomes significantly more boring when you roll a non-Zerker team because everything takes longer.
Instead of doing 8k bad crits or 11k good crits, you’re doing 1k bad crits and 2k good crits.
All of a sudden a fight that is generally 2 minutes is now 10 minutes.
Not if they die due to unavoidable damage. That was my point. Then the dungeon would be completed faster by brining a support to keep the Zerkers alive.

Weapon master
Kit 1 > Staff
Kit 2 > Rifle
Kit 3 > Throwing knives
etc…
By design or is it a bug?
I have the Signet of Inspiration equipped. That gives me 5s swiftness every 10s.
If wait until I get swiftness from the Signet and then I immediately use Focus 4, Temporal Curtain I will not get any swiftness from the Temporal Curtain spell. It’s not until the 5s of swiftness from the signet is removed that I can get more from the Curtain.
It seems there could be a ICD for all incoming swiftness from the signet. I am not sure this is intended or a bug?
2h Axe!
Enigineer kits, but for Warriors. You equip them in utility slots and this would switch your weapon skills to new unarmed kicks, jumps and punches or whatever.
Could be one for different styles, or something
From the trailer I would say we get Drones, which would be like the Guardian Spirit Weapons
Lower attunement cooldowns, I want to try with 5s.
Lower skill cooldowns. kitten cooldowns on 1-5 skills sucks for rotations. These should be 35s or less. Above that is ok for utility skills.
My main issue with Ele is cooldowns.
I play my Engineer with Bomb Kit and Tool Kit and I use the same keys as I use for my Ele attunements. This makes the Engineer play almost like a 3 attunement class, only the kits have only a 1s cooldown.
This lets me pop into the Tool Kit and wack someone with Pry Bar, then go to Bomb Kit and Concussion Bomb etc. It does not lock me into such a predictable rotation.
Also the individual skills have much lower cooldowns then my Ele skills. This also helps to make the flow of playing much better.
The Ele skills do not need to do more damage. I suggest lower the cooldowns instead. Attunement cooldown to 5s and some of the 30s+ skills should be lowered.
I hate skills with around 45 sec cooldown, they fit so badly in my rotations when I play.
Grinding is different for different people. If I like WvW and I get asc gear by doing WvW for months, then it is not a grind. But if I need to do crafting, PvE or some other thing for months. That would then be grinding.
The opposite is true also of course.
The solution to this seems pretty obvious to me. Have several ways to get the same gear. Dungeons, WvW, sPvP, crafting whatever.
Announcing an expansion at a Con for example creates a lot of hype. You know, with epic trailers and all that. Interviews with all the devs, a beta test and so on.
If you trickle out the same content in 2 week patches it will not get the same amount of people to come back.
Here are some features I want to see:
- A new profession.
- New weapons and skills for old professions.
- New level cap with another tier to the traits.
- In game spectator mode for PVP matches with tournaments / complete with in game casting.
- In game advertisements of ongoing live and upcoming matches so it is easy to find something to watch.
