I think the loot chest idea is interesting. I know I normally leave some guards at the entrance to a keep or tower to hold off incoming / banner warriors /etc. Would be nice if they also got the champion bag.

Not sure how you could effectively make this happen.

I would imagine if people got free loot for sitting in wvw they would just sit there afk moving there character every 10 mins to get free bags

Why I love being a yak ::

Only on yaks-bend does the WvW team create back stories for the various commanders.

Example : DK, who is in witness protection, that is why he used a voice changer

There is no good answer here

World vs World is a difficult ever changing environment.

You can’t possible factor in all the variables to make fair matchups or a fair system.
Server drama and server moral are a huge part of wvw
Community is also a major factor

I think you should petition for some larger arena

Like AV for those who played WoW. (Which turned into a mad dash for The Lord)

Everyone complains about fair match ups / it’s numbers not skill.

The truth is people are better than others at games.

My server has had the outmanned buff on eternal most of this week. We still destroy enemy zergs and hold our side. Plus we take sm all the time also.

We might take a beating on off hours but we hold our own.

We have all commanders defend each other , just tonight we fended off a map que in garrison because of quick responses. Left 5 defenders in eternal .. 1 in each tower.

But you won’t accept that as proof. Come up with some complicated explanation why your point is so much better than everyone’s. How anet doesn’t love you, your commanders don’t know what they are doing, wvw is unbalanced.

Had someone tell me today that all commanders are kittens and that commander tags was the worst thing brought into the game. Just garbage

That being said maybe anet can introduce a 20vs20 spvp arena cause that seems to be what you want

So we have so many discussions on bandwagon servers, numbers, and people talking about how to make things more fair.

The truth is bandwagons can be defeated. Strats can be utilized to overwhelm and defeat your opponents.

I see a lot of fair this fair that. The truth is I think those people are just saying I want to win. It’s like when people complain about how stealth is overpowered and how it needs to be nerfed. Again all I hear is “I want to roll over my enemy without working for it”

Yaksbend proved in season 1 that utilizing unconventional tactics a bandwagon server can be defeated.

As shown with the crushing defeat of SBI in season 1 allowing the yaks to take 2nd. People will call it messed up what we did. But the truth is we utilized propaganda , alliances, and sure out force of will to claim second.

So those who want to sit in these forums and complain how wvw is not fair. Stop with the sob story. Man or Women up! Get out there and give them hell!

Side comment 1:
SBI is an amazing group of people who fought to the bitter end. It could have gone either way and those matches were amazing.

Anyone else notice that the Women of WvW are way more Bloodthirsty than the man on average.

You all take the fun out if the forums /depression.

Everyone wants to constantly change this that and the other thing. I this would make it perfect or this would make it perfect. Nerf hammer trains , nerf stealth

Anet has done a great job in wvw. There is nothing without a counter. Might not be the counter you would like or the counter you play but there is one.

The truth is most of it comes to skill and command teams working together. If you are constantly getting rolled in your prime time , change your strategy. If you are outnumbered in open field split up and hit 5 targets at once. If you need to hold a keep siege it up.

WvW is a community and team effort. From the front line fighters to yak guards.

There is no perfect solution or balance that will make it fair. Mostly because some guilds are better than others, some servers communicate better than others. If you just want to roam that is great or be in small fights anet has spvp.

I know myself and most of is love fighting in WvW. There is no bigger satisfaction than catching an enemy force unaware and destroying it with have its numbers

I forgot the whole thread dedicated to the ban of yaks-bend due to our unfair use of golem strikes.

It’s very easy to counter the banner tactic.

Leave the pretty circle and reach out and touch someone.

So it has come to our attention that some other servers feel we “Yaks” bring out the worst in them.

We see 30 page threads when ever we are involved. As I feel that being a member of the evil empire I should not care, I do.

With that being said what is your favorite moments against us at good old yaks-bend. The supply traps? The relentless defense? The arrow carts, defended by arrow carts, and other arrow carts?

On a prediction stand point I am interested on what HOD pushes during the week after the weekend rush is gone. Fun match though so far.

I am just wondering why anet decided to give such a lack of anything for season 2 . It would be nice to have at least a page with the current results. The living world gets blog posts / custom pages / etc.

WvW just seems to be shafted most of the time.

We need to start a new poll on how what percentage of SBI is fair weather fighters. I would say 98.2% or so.

Considering we spent all week kicking in your teeth, I’m going to guess it wasn’t you wiping anything, and more likely it was the pve content patches as always (it happens every single patch)

Give it a day or two and we’ll see if they pop back up from the content or not.

Then we’ll go back to pounding on you like a dog in heat.

Yep it’s totally numbers

It’s definately not

1. You commanders go for an objective and half your forces go for a door.

2. You are not coordinating multi map efforts

3. Everyone is using there own comms

4. Your pugs aren’t trained to stack / buff / field / etc

5. Your golem strikes were not organized and drivers died to cannon fire instead of rotating out 3s (golem shield)

6. Your roamers failed to prep keeps for strikes , ie destroying cannons / oils

7. Your roamers failed to keep waypoints contested during attacks , allowing for instant reinforcements

8. Your omega drivers stacked under oils.

Yep definately numbers. You guys are so kittenen awesome.

That being said. Some of your groups have operated as a team. So those getting rolled all over the place might want to man up and talk to the commanders who made something happen.

I mean just looking at what you guys are saying on the forums here, I dont think it is just numbers that is your guys problem.

Start getting people to work together.

The guy who said we did that and we didnt coordinate. Seriously you are proud of that. Also we had a mesmer tracking that group near valley. Most of us were fighting the SF troops at garrison and the ET blob (nice to see that btw).

Start working together then you can kitten about numbers.

This is the same thing that happens to every server. they qq about numbers / skill whatever. This one doesnt want to listen to that one. You guys should try manning the kitten up and deciding to work together.

Inless this happens i dont see anything to good coming from SF.

For leagues then I would work on getting everyone on the same comms. You guys wonder how the YB Zerg comes out in so many numbers it’s because of good communications.

Even when guilds use there own comms they have a representative in the primary passing along Intel / orders.

I hope you guys do well in leagues and learn from the experiences you had here.

My real question for SF is do you guys run on the same comms? You have some good individual players and small teams. I dont see any good force troops though.

Instantly troops become better when they can hear a commander kittening at them.

They were running a group of about 15-20. Little after 7pm eastern. Went to orge mercs and were wiped out by a group of 12 yaksbend.

I did that supplyinfo thing. Advanced Command kitten /smile

Then we faced them again. They were stacked behind vista hill north side going up the hill. They were forced up there hill and then jumped down, unfortunately we saw that coming and pushed back let them come at us, CCed / Tornadoed / Wiped them almost to the man. I think a few of you guys ported out.

All that being said. I was happy that someone came out and played for a bit. CoSA i think your commander needs a little more field experience.

Was fun fighting ya though. You guys almost had a nice flank on two instances.
