If you want a good story, single player RPGs are that way ->
Seriously, go play witcher 3, its one of the best story telling and story progression in a game I’ve ever seen.
This is an MMORPG.
Most of the ppl didn’t buy it to play story mode…….
I certainly didn’t make this purchase and expected some amazing, grand story….CONTENT thats what makes and breaks MMORPG…..not story mode lol.
most ppl could care less if the story is disappointing……I for one am glad anet didn’t spend a lot of time and resources into such an unimportant aspect of an expansion….
The story was advertised to be some epic grand battle against the biggest threat to Tyria. Tell me what you paid $50 for? 4 mediocre maps, a new class, and some raid instances… I for one was hoping for a story that lasts longer than a few hours

It seriously does not take that long.
What makes you think Fallout 4 , or any game for that matter, will be amazing months ahead of time
Any game of this size is bound to have bugs. Not all of them will get fixed. A lot of times, stuff that does get fixed isn’t included in the patch notes, so people don’t realize just how much changes. (For example, at launch, harvesting nodes could sometimes result in ruined ore, wood, or fiber; that has since been fixed.)
In terms of setting priorities, the usual practice is to look at
- scope (how many players are affected),
- severity (how much are individuals affected),
- difficulty (how easy is it to figure out what’s wrong and fix it),
- opportunity (can this be fixed with other changes or fixes),
- importance (how much does it matter in the grand scheme of things),
- interoperability (how much does adjusting this affect other things), and
- luck (was it noticed sooner or later, was it described well, was there sufficient data to troubleshoot, is there a test environment set up suitable for replicating/confirming fixes, …)
Some stuff is just easier to take care of; some stuff is easier to ignore; and some stuff is just plain annoying to tackle. So, we’ll continue to see some old bugs, get new ones, and plenty will also get fixed.
If there are specific issues you want to be addressed more quickly, try providing detailed troubleshooting data to ANet (via the in-game /bug tool or here). Bugs are more likely to get fixed when we can make it easier for ANet to identify, replicate, and troubleshoot.
I know full well that bugs have been squashed and new ones arise. I’m speaking of these bugs that have existed for 1-2 years now, and have been reported by several people in the past ( no doubt as much information as they can give as a player ) How are we to know if the bugs are on their radar or not? I guess its something minor when you have a boss that clips thru a wall and breaks immersion. As long as we our loots eh who cares how exciting the game play is
With the current state of the game and its bugs, do you think with the release of HoT, that it hopes to get us to forget these problems? Or are we just at the point of just tolerating the broken content and expect things to never get fixed? I’m speaking of stuff like :
- Grenth teleporting you behind walls / terrain, forcing you to relog to fix yourself
- Dwayna getting pushed into a corner and clipping through the wall and becoming ‘obstructed’ for ranged
- Melandru events bugging out almost every week
- AC burrows putting you through walls when you destroy them while on top of the burrows. Grast dying in p3, people waypointing ahead and breaking the dungeon
- Things being obstructed even with a direct visible path to the target
- Personal story bugs, fractal bugs, dungeon bugs, profession bugs
Just some of things from the top of my head, and the list goes on. Any hope some of this content will be fixed or even reworked to be more interesting, or will HoT just make the core content a thing of the past?
Yea I’m startin to think my account is cursed because I fail every RNG event. Its a little disappointing when you put so much effort into something and get nothing, while you constantly see people that barely play get the item within 5 minutes =P
You selected equip and somehow clicked “yes” when prompted to soulbind it? Hmm…
Just tried it, and everything appears normal with everything disabled / enabled for me.
MatthewMidna, my Echo of Turai Ossa is not daze he has 100% health and refuse to move after capturing his palace. I was able to get the bug to reproduce by doing the following:
1) When the shrine is capture, the UI says talk to Marjory
2) If you talk to her almost immediately after the UI objective is updated…Turai Ossa will not move again.
This has bugged for me 3 times now, but once I waited to talk to Marjory to start the next set of events, it strangely didn’t bug out
Engineers
-_-
By any chance, was the ghost in his “dazed” state (he would appear dizzy and staggered) when you completed the capture of the throne? I have an inkling what it might be causing this, but it would help me track the issue to know what state the NPC was in when it stalled.
Dazed? No I’m sure it wasn’t. If you got that from ‘hurt and confused’, that was my failure attempt at humor sry.
However the NPC ghost went out to fight one of the wurms. I killed the wurm & and the NPC started attacking other aggro outside the capture zone. I finished the capture event and the mobs despawned while it was in combat.
Ghost does nothing after you capture the first point. Ran around the room and all that and its still standing there… hurt and confused. Or am I missing something?
I just want to quickly add, there are some errors on this chart of how stuff is unlocking, as well as 1st character vs. account unlocks when some of these systems were carried between regions. We’re trying to identify what happened and repair those things assigned the wrong account/character fields, as well as levels.
What is your objective here if it isn’t to make the game fun to play? Add new skills and features perhaps, but don’t remove and time-gate what we were used to.
Levelling felt slow enough already for people that had already a level 80 character. Now everything is locked to them even through they can play the game eyes closed (a game that is quite frankly already too easy).
Truth is however that it’s probably not more fun for new players as well, and that’s where it hurts the most; you underestimate the average gamer ability to discover a new game.
When I play a MMO I don’t want to be spoon fed, I want to discover; unlock everything besides a few special skills and let me figure out the rest, it’s a question of having a choice. You had done it right the first time (besides the text tutorials which were omitting important things like blasting fields). Why break something what was working fine?Seriously, the decisions you take at Anet sometimes:
Why did you make this awesome WvW map (EotM) and then took it out of the PPT rotation and merged all the servers by a random color system?
Why can’t we do a straight 5vs5 and 8 vs 8 PvP GvG style without trebs and canons in the way?
Why do you add a siege disabler that breaks all the mechanic of what was already functioning well?
Why is there a million backpack to choose from but no guild capes?
Why has SAB, an addon worth an “expansion of the year” award, abandoned and not available in the game anymore?
…
+1
Obviously they don’t care about your $100, but yeah this new system is bad.
Sorry arenanet, what were you possibly thinking when making this change for new players? This almost seems like this would turn people away instead of sticking with it
Alot of these skins look horribly pixelated as well, like the mace
Been seeing this all over as well. Especially in personal story when undead have “new string” as a tag or some such
I simply hate this update, and honestly, I’ve enjoyed all of the other releases. This takes “mindless” to a whole new level
Still getting lag after forwarding ports. Sometimes the ping is fine, then I switch a map and the ping shoots up to 250. I give up, I don’t know what to do anymore…
I’m also a centurylink customer getting very high ping lately in gw2, out of st. paul / MN. I was also told everything was fine from their end. Looks like ALTER.NET has had this crap going off and on quite frequently over the past several months.
“Servers are routing through China or something..”
This statement shows why most people are blaming A-net for their ISP/network problems – they don’t know how the internet works, much less networks in general.
ArenaNet has NO control over the path the data takes TO or FROM their servers.
So these problems coincidentally happened recently, with multiple people, over multiple ISPs?
Suddenly after megaservers rolled out, my ping went from 40 to 200 pretty frequently. Anet says its your ISP, you have routing issues etc. Thats funny considering me and several others had no ping issues before these last updates, and suddenly our ISPs are acting up. Servers are routing through China or something..
I’ve only seen this while playing Asura, but the weapon seems to glitch and appear on the sides or behind while running. ( regular Bolt and and skin) Kind of annoying =p Is this just my client or is anyone else experiencing this?
This was brought up a year ago and nothings been done about it
It was nice before knowing you could fit a few bosses into your schedule… now you’re lucky to even be able to fit one boss during your gw2 session.
Red knight died but did not spawn the red portal in overflow
Got silver for the event, still didn’t get achievement. Also I still have no received credit for the Elite Aetherblades even though I’m getting xp from each kill

On the last part though — sorry, but what?! o.O What kind of loot are you wanting?! How could it possibly be more rewarding without completely destroying the economy in just a few days?
Every update prior to this gave decent loot, obviously not enough to break the economy, but enough to keep you coming back. With this update, once you see LA on fire, what real reason is there to come back to this event other than to get AP?
I don’t get why people are calling this the best update. I’m not really caught up in the suspense of the destruction of LA. Is my heart supposed to be pounding at the sight of the fire and destruction with a big giant drill in sight, while you see children and soldiers walking as slowly as they possibly can to the exit?
For months we’ve been hyped up with the introduction of ‘new’ monsters, slowly learning their mechanics and how to counter them, only to find them all on one map , in large groups where the only real counter is a mass zerg, distributed amongst underwhelming events, with Scarlet spectating.
Best update? No bug fixes at all, and tons created. How are people calling this “SUPER EPIC” when you have all of Tyria flocking around playing hide and seek with children and bugged events, disappointing loot, and people that care more about the well being of the moa racers than anything else in LA.
Zergfest. Tag as much as possible. No real good rewards. No bug fixes, only bugs created.
Its Tequatl all over again, don’t expect them to upgrade their servers. Once people get their achievements the popularity will decrease allowing you to guest on a server that cares to repeat it.
What makes this AWESOME? I find it long and boring
Perhaps it will terraform the planet and spawn interesting content
Do NOT go to that link.
I hope this update doesn’t include Scarlet. I do not want annoying content that makes me second guess playing. Dhuumslay this uninteresting character already.
SB – About the same. Had tons of people but no champion spawned, just a veteran that melted instantly.
Shatterer – still the same. auto attack from his side
Claw – People still seem to be staying alive sitting on the right on phase 1. Phase 2 golems still basically get nuked by the lingering red circle after destroying a crystal.
FE – Embers are highly annoying and drop everyone, but this boss is a little more enjoyable now.
Golem – The boss actually makes you move around now, although people have found a safe zone.
Tequatl – -_- The lack of visibility of AoE in water is probably my biggest complaint (other than people not using #4 / #5 with turrets )
It says defend the batteries (east ,west, north ) but I saw nothing happening with the batteries. Does this only happen later in the fight?

Timer didnt change AFAIK
huh people still use this website? :P
I have to say it sounds extremely annoying
Well decent champion loot is here, and while I’m happy that you actually get something for killing a champion, I’m also disappointed as well. PvE has turned into a zergfest of champion hunting with little risk – high reward.
Is this the direction Anet wanted to go? All the time and thought you put in into making Dynamic Events has basically been destroyed by adding this system. While nobody really wants to escort a Dolyak across the map for a few coppers, why should they bother now if they can kill 6-7 open world champions in the same amount of time?
Higher level champions, especially in Frostgorge need to get beefed up. Not only should their HP get scaled by a little bit, their mechanics need to be changed so they don’t melt in 10 seconds. Why can’t some of these champions have difficult escorts that do AoE torment or debuffs? Petrify you if you don’t stun it in time, or champions that require you to kill summon(s) to remove defiance. Or perhaps champions that roam around a little more? I don’t know ! Something that slows down this easy , mindless rapid source of income and put a little more excitement into the game, other than simply nerfing the spawn rates.
Dynamic events I think , at least for now, should give you far more karma. If you can’t give us more silver for completing events we should at least get far more karma, and then raise the cost of Orrian boxes. Perhaps that NPC you saved would reward you with a couple of Mithril Ore, or a destroyer core. Maybe that would get the average player to turn their head more often.
I may not have the brightest ideas here, but I really feel like something should be done to eliminate this economy crippling, mindless, high rewarding auto-attacking zergfest.
Theres hardly any queue in this random overflow However the lag is just unbelievable and can hardly beat some of these bosses
If someone fails the Subject 7 fight the oozes stay in the dome in the next challenge and aggro. Seen this quite a few times already.
Well I think the election did show that , since it was 52-48. And alot of people voted just for cheaper waypoint costs. I don’t get why one of the devs said " I feel bitter, I really hoped I could work on the Abbadon fractal," like its completely off the table and theres no hope to see it in the future, why?
Transmuting a Legendary for a sigil… tsk tsk
The rich gets richer
More skins not more stats. Pointless to add more stats if it will get nerfed in some way anyhow.
it is broken on maguuma , please and thank you
Just go back to character select screen and log back into your character.
