i find it funny how people spend real cash for pixel cash over the 60$ you’ve spent on the game. You buy a game to gain everything by your own in it and not take some cash and buy everything you want in 10h of gameplay… this isn’t better than paying for power leveling except its legit cuz anet said so. But i do agree with TC especially on DR. GW1 was such a much much superior game its sad what anet made of off gw2.

What he said isn’t false. Lots of people on this forum say stuff such as “i destroy stealth thieves bla bla bla” but this is all lies or they’re killing a theif that is already being attacked by many other players. You need to be new to the game/new to a thief to lose against a ranger on one. Thief has counters to everything a ranger can do, ranger can’t even do anything to immobilize lol. There’s not point of even dualing a thief on a ranger, reroll to a mes or d/d ele and then see sup.

Agree about Dark Souls and i played Demon’s Souls back in 09-10 pretty hardcore while playing gw1 and both were awesome and none were getting old after hundreds (gw1 after thousands) of hours. I have many hours in gw2 but its been over two months that i feel like playing just because its Guild Wars and i loved the hell out of the original. Pve here sucks for many reasons. For example, i miss farming on my 130hp derv/tera ele for certain skins that drop ONLY from certain zone. I miss having awesome pvp like FA/RA. I miss dungeons like The Deep. In gw2 i could stop playing it today and i won’t miss a single thing, nothing is memorable. I think that as of now if i stop playing gw2 the only thing i will remember the game by is nerfs. I have never played a game in 15y of gaming where devs spammed so many nerfs on absolutely everything just to bring you to their ********* gem store.
I want my hundreds of skills to chose for the build of my liking NOT FIVE SKILL.

You know, I’d stop playing Guild Wars 2 altogether… and that’s no bluff.
We have mind wrack and deceptive evasion left!!!! Luckily my fav mes builds are shatter builds (one of them is already dead confusion shatter) so i’ll accept IC nerf BUT if they nerf Mind Wrack and mostly important of them all, deceptive evasion, i won’t even come to this forum to express my feelings, just uninstall the game and don’t look back. DE nerf is probably the only skill that IF nerfed im out, and you know what? i think it will happen because there been hundreds of people crying cuz mes is like a clone factory… I just hope this happens after ps4 is released so i could quit for BF4 or something like that…

“Crafting is all well and good” no no no and more NO. Crafting isn’t good or even fine. I did not buy a crafting simulation game, i’ve had enough of that in Dead Space 3… Crafting is ‘acceptable’ but only when the mats needed are farmable and farming in an over nerfed game isn’t the answer. Plus, that only applies to meh looking exotics. I do not want to craft ascended gear or other flashy skins, but attain them by playing hard content. Why can’t they give us a hard mission/dungeon where you collect relics (which aren’t available on TP/sellable), combine them for that brand new cool looking skin as an example? Why the f is everything TP related? Its so kitten annoying…

This is why:
1. If you have a signet equipped (other than sig of sillusion but even this one takes time to pop up) it doesn’t show on clones which any kind of decent player will notice in seconds.
2. Exploration star. bla bla bla everyone talked about this one for long enough and nothing been done after 5+ months.
3. Their attack speed is much slower and very noticeable to someone who pvp enough.
4. Boons. Its okay if clones can’t have boons on them BUT it must show all boons the player have on their clones as well (even tho they’re only boon images and don’t get their effects). Anyone half decent will always use attacks on the mesmer with all the boons which breaks the whole point of fooling your opponent.
5. This one is something i never heard anyone mentioning on this forum. Why don’t clones attack when running into a target for being shattered? lets say im at 900 range and run to my target to rupt with illusionary Wave. Will i be spamming skills while doing so? Yes. this is what clones (notice, i say clones and not all illusions) should be doing when their target is at range and the mesmer uses F1-F3 shatter, they walk to your target while at the same time attacking until they reach melee ranger and explode from shatter.
None of these points would make mesmer OP, just do what they’re supposed to do, fool the enemy.

The game isn’t exactly dying but i wouldn’t suggest you to play it either. Unless you’re satisfied with brand new gem store items instead of real content, you will be very disappointed in couple of days. Wait for them to release something worthwhile but that could take over a year…

Chill slows down your skill CD. Can some1 please tell me why the f it doesn’t slow down initiatives regen when thieves have no CD outside of utilities/elite? Chill should be applied to initiatives regen and that’s a no brainer. Its kinda funny how devs ignored this for 13 months and some1 needs to point that out on a forum for them to even notice…

Yes. Their original target group were casuals and those who didn’t want to grind for gear stats. But the game launched beyond expectations, with a large number of buyers who were used to, and wanted stats grind. This got Anet greedy. When these new customers began to complain that there was no stats to grind for, Anet panicked and introduced Ascended gear.
Now we have a game that was developed for the no-stat-grind crowd, but has shifted its model to the stat-grind-fans. In the end, neither of these two customer bases will be happy.
GW1 was 100% cosmetic grind. Who complained? no one. No one forced you to grind an eternal sword but you may have wanted to for a lot of reasons.

This wouldn’t seem so much a nerf as a fix. I don’t understand how you can’t see the absurdity of your current situation. Like, I don’t even having anything against farming, and I’m in no way concerned about the economy, but you’re obviously aware of the abuse to the system this is. You’re a gambling addict screaming at the casino for taking out a slot machine that paid out ten times more than the others. Obviously it wasn’t meant to be that way, and no matter what, you still lose.
You invest time in mindless grinding=you’re rewarded for your time. You do nothing but stand in LA=you get nothing. What’s the problem?

RGN in gem store is such an obvious complaint that it shouldn’t even be considered as one, its absolute ripoff done legally. Its the kind of things you would see in trash korean f2p titles, not in a hugely popular and successful title like gw2. Also, no1 is forcing you to waste you dollars/gold for keys. in 11 months i haven’t bought a single key nor will i ever buy them for their outrageous price because no one is forcing me to. When it comes to their casual facebook mini games kind of patches im kinda forced to accept them instead of a new dungeon and i can’t do anything about that. If i ignore their winnie the pooh mini games it means every single month i get nothing new for me to experience and this is where gw2 gets old because its wvw or you just don’t play the game at all.

You know the game has no endgame when devs and fanboys tell others that endgame is everything in the game. Is standing in LA bored because there’s nothing to do endgame? Is walking from crating stations to TP endgame? Is WP across the map and talk to 73 npcs per LS quest endgame? Is crafting whatever you want some kind of rewarding endgame? Is exploring an empty world doing the most repetitive heart quests seen in a video game endgame? Or is the endgame so weak that some consider doing achievements that are added by metric tones every patch an endgame? GW2 has as much end game content as casual solo rpg’s such as Mass Effect 3. Everything is end game my %$#…

Don’t even try to deny that a thief is the easiest class to play… even skull crack/100swags warrior is harder and that is telling a lot. im also rank 32 in spvp so i’ve played enough of this crappy pvp as well. I also noticed something, ppl that play only thief will rarely agree that the class is broken but another player that is skilled and plays a thief (as his main) but also plays other classes and is good with them will most certainly agree that thief is unbalanced in its current state. If it was me i’d remove all stealth and stealth related traits from that game and rework thief completely (of course this will never happen). the game is supposed to be skill vs skill and not skill vs nothing cuz the thief just refuged and heartseeker across the map.

Since NOVEMBER we haven’t gotten a single proper dungeon and they know their current dungeon offerings sucks so what’s up? their living story is… for who exactly is this crap aimed at? serious question. I don’t want your living story bs because i bought your game to play content, not talk to npcs all over the map and look at cut sceens (which are laughable for today standards) with atrocious voice acting. get your **** together, anet.

ranger has traps, traps are powerful and that makes them decent in spvp. If ever traps are nerfed or lets say they were never in this game, ranger would be…. That not to say ranger doesn’t need a traits/utilities/weapon skills overhaul tho, because it needs it and needs it badly.

there’s anti grind system but every single legendary (and many other mystic forge skins) require you to grind 10’s or 100’s of hours haha what a joke idea from anet. And what if some1 wants to make some money farming sparks for charged lodestones? What you say? Oh yeah don’t grind and do other stuff… stuff like what? there’s nothing to do. The day they add things for a level 80 is the day they can add one million anti grind systems.

On my first level 20 i got a fractal GS (that was six days after fotm was released). Since i have over 700 fractals and still never got the staff, sword, focus i want but got doubles hammer/harpoon gun that i don’t even use. Would be nice if i could trade them for other fractal weps of my choice.

More crafting? Do these devs ever get another ideas of acquiring items? What about adding hard mode to current dungeons, collect relics (that aren’t tradable) and combine them to build a precursor? I don’t want to craft more of your kitten! All they do is release items that you craft, so what’s the point of even going outside LA… i swear these people—-

Anet has no flying &^$% idea what a ranger should be in this game. I won’t go as far as saying they killed spirit rangers because i haven’t even played one since patch BUT 1 engi focusing spirits with nades is enough to let all your utilities on CD and you’ll be seeing dat 25sec quite a lot…

I’m a gw1 player, never played another mmo nor want to and i find gw2 boring now. I like gw2 the first two months but since reaching level 80, getting all weps/armors from dungeon and the stupid DR implemented, gw2 became a boring fest. I don’t hate on gw2 because i played gw1 for years, i find gw2 boring because there’s nothing for me to do and lack of traits/skills/2nd profession makes me run same two/three builds for 1k hours. If gw2 had over 1k skills like gw1 did, even in this over nerfed boring world i’d still have some fun because of combat variations.

Also, Sharp, what about Mesmer’s Torch and Scepter? People been asking to improve these two for a year now and the only significant thing we got is being able to dodge roll while under The Prestige. Phantasmal Mage is the absolute worst phantasm, its so bad it doesn’t make sense. How is that this phantasm has the longest CD on them all, has one of the if not the longest icd on attacks and deal absolutely no damage on a condi build or a power build? You guys need to add some love to The Prestige (add poison as an example), completely change current iMage, Scepter autos are~~~~~ need a rework, Confusing Images also deserve some love. Not to forget Mind Stab on GS because its extremely poor for its long CD and root.

Well yes you don’t reall notice tesselation on creature skins, etc. But you would notice it in terrain textures. It really makes surfaces come alive.
You would also notice tessallation on human medium T3 under boob which is currently blocky as hell :P

Perfectly said. Its 2013 and they have no plans to upgrade to DX11 rofl. Milking gem store is more important than offering a smooth and fun experience for your fanbase. I wish the current team working on FF14 came for gw2, they’re doing absolutely everything possible to please their players and are already building a DX11 patch while anet doesn’t even dream about it.
What would DX11 bring to GW2? Graphics don’t make a game, gameplay does. And GW2 has the best gameplay of any MMO by a long shot.
optimization is what it brings, removes ugly ps2 quality textures almost everything in gw2 has, adds tesalletion that removes the blockyness of this game as if gw2 came out in 2003 or something. go google DX11… there’s plenty of VERY useful things it has and not a single game would be better without it.
At the cost of 20% of the framerate, ruining the game for the average player, especially those who play on laptops. That’s not acceptable.
I have no problem with the texture. Not to mention the ps2 is the most successful console ever running against 3 vastly superior consoles. Maybe the textures were not what people were interested in. PS2 had the best games for the time. GW2 has the best gameplay regardless of textures.
I’ve been playing videogames for over 2 decades. Graphics do not make a good game. I’ve seen that time and time again. If too much money is dumped into graphics, the game as a whole suffers. GW2 is a beautiful game. Anyone who thinks differently has to get his eyes checked.
Could it be even more beautiful. Most certainly. Would that be worth the cost? Probably not.
did you at least know that 99% of games supporting DX11 also can be played in DX9? You have a crappy $250 pc from Walmart you can still play the game and enjoy it on very low. Those with gaming rigs would be playing as a person should in 2013…

i feel the same for months now waiting for something new and most importantly BIG for pve that will occupy me for weeks/months or a completely new pvp mode that doesn’t rely on capping bs for 15 minutes. People on this forum are generally fanboys that will defend this game even if there’s lots of stuff they don’t like so don’t expect many agreeing with you.
