The game needs it badly but instead we get new ridiculously priced items (with juicy RNG) in gem store. Look at Skyrim for example, not only the game looks significantly better (modded of course) but in same amount of time they’ve achieved ~double frame rate. Time to optimize gw2, this is not a looker like Crysis 3 and should run waaay better than it is.

Technically, the Living Story is an expansion. It’s just not a typical expansion players are used to.
Currently, Arenanet is unsure of whether they want to release expansions in boxes that or just make it a part of the game, similar to the Living Story, ergo free.
More like a poor man’s DLC that you feel rippedoff after buying, thanks god their living story crap is free…

That’s why i don’t know a single sane person who enjoyed the campaign. I skipped every single cutsceen because dialogue made my ears bleed, voice acting made my brain explode and cutsceens themselves were eye exploding. ‘kiddy’ is the category i’d class gw2’s story. A young kid may enjoy it or an old person who’s tired of everything and actually want the stupid goofiness but not your average gamer who bought this game to play it daily.

I don’t understand it either. instead of giving us the first pve content or a new pvp game mode they’re giving a time gated crafting level increase. Talk about adding wrong content… with anet im not surprised at all though.

GW2 is a MMO, it has to have some time-gated content to keep you playing.
All this does is say “F this i’m out”. There’s ZERO fun in waiting days to craft a freaking material… Like where’s the excitement? Even camping a rare boss that spawns once a week would’ve been 10000% more exciting than craft a freaking mat when you need tones just for one armor piece. You don’t nerf the game to the ground, kitten rng, DR and time gated content to make people play, you give them content with long lasting appeal such as a game that wasn’t even an mmo called GW1 had. MMO or not, not having DX11 support in a PC EXCLUSIVE title released in 2012 is a joke especially when games run better in dx11.Guild Wars 1 w3as originally a DX8 game . Took them until Factions’ release to make the game DX9 .

The game is a mess on most fronts. From SPvP, WvW to the PvE side. Not properly tested updates and badly designed content is running rampant.Anyone who starts a post like this doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously. No one is saying the game is perfect, but as far as MMOs go, for some of us, this is the best that’s out there. It may not make it a great game, but it does make it the only choice in MMO for some people.

this is not the champ fault but the fact that EVERYTHING in this game is nerfed and there’s nothing farmable. You cannot have an mmo without farming spots because you know for a fact tones of people enjoy farming. If there was other places worth farming, champ zergs wouldn’t even be half as big as they’re but since there’s absolutely nothing in this game but this, everyone is doing it.

I would do a lot of stuff for gw2 to look half decent. Imagine if it running with Frostbite 3 (look at DA: Inquisition gameplay) looks amazing and has more destruction than 2 breakable boxes… This will never happen tho. They decided to stay with the same outdated engine just like CoD and its quake 3 engine released in 1999.

I wish the current team working on FF14 came for gw2, they’re doing absolutely everything possible to please their players and are already building a DX11 patch while anet doesn’t even dream about it.

90% of the ascended stuff is time-gated so the hardcore players can’t have their ascended items in a day. Instead, by time-gating this content, casual players and hardcore players are on equal footing.
In fact, it isn’t just 90% time-gated on ascended. Almost all content in Guild Wars 2 is time-gated so as to level the playing field for casuals and hardcores.
Guild Wars 2 is still 100% casual. How can I assume that? Well, I’m a hardcore player myself, and I can say that there is absolutely, positively, no hardcore content in this game at this time.

Zero. I will only support Anet with expansions and not kittening flutes and stupid Boom Boxes. Since game was launched i bought 2 profane armors, 1 phoenix set, 3 makeover tools and like 40 fine stones, all with in game money. There isn’t even anything else worth buying on their store.

So, what is the exact reason after all these months devs did nothing knowing people will have tones of ascended rings? Is it because they’re too easy to get? Please don’t tell me because they’re ‘too easy to get’ when it took many people week(s) to get 2… This is just ridiculous that i need to make a character just to store ascended crap and its not like i will ever merch ascended level items (i did merch 7 cuz they were soulbind to one character on which im not using them anymore). How many more months until i can do something useful with these!?

What would DX11 bring to GW2? Graphics don’t make a game, gameplay does. And GW2 has the best gameplay of any MMO by a long shot.
optimization is what it brings, removes ugly ps2 quality textures almost everything in gw2 has, adds tesalletion that removes the blockyness of this game as if gw2 came out in 2003 or something. go google DX11… there’s plenty of VERY useful things it has and not a single game would be better without it.

crafting is a form of progression.
every other MMO out there has great icentives for lvling up crafting
WoW for example lets u craft gear that is the same tier as the current raid. and lets u sell to players.
its about time u had crafting so you can be self sufficant and start learning how mmos work.
Crafting is not progression, it’s a style of gameplay. A style that only a section of the player base in each MMO take part in.

They already increased their CD, decrease iMariner’s damage by 40-50%, gave them 0.25 (or was it 0.5?) before attacking, izerker close to NEVER hits 4 times as he was before Feb patch, gave them LoS in a game where LoS is a kittening joke, fail to spawn on block/blind/invul/dodge so wtf are they trying to accomplish here? and who the f asked for a phantasm nerf especially in current meta? Anet already stated that the “precursor scavenger hunt” it’s not gonna be crafting related in latest pax interview. And yes it will very expensive and hard to grind it’s just gonna be an alternative to buying it from the TP that’s all.

Having it in Direct X 11 would upset people with Direct X 10 cards, which there is still a fairly high number of compared to DX9 cards now. I could see this game going as far as DX10 for now but not DX11 and I highly doubt GW2 will upgrade to DX10 to begin with. If there is a ‘Guild Wars 3’ game in the future, maybe it will use Direct X 11. But it doesn’t really matter though, the game looks great either way.

I liked it more than gw1 for the first month. Now i have no reason to even log in… Nothing to do isn’t something that happened to me in gw1 ever. I prefer graphics and fast combat of gw2 and everything else is better in gw1.
