Would love my Ranger skin from GW1
Just make it so we a have to actually click on a non-threatening mob, white or yellow.
It’s driving me mad…………
I’ll go for 3 as well.
Is it a problem, I don’t see it as a problem.
Actually, an “Accept Ressurection” confirmation might be a useful tool to use against bots, I have seen bots dieing and ressurecting each other.
Wouldn’t it have been better to fix the “old” dungeons first ?
Nobody want’s to do them now anyway.
Yup unbelievable, Rangers are not allowed to gain an advantage by using the terrain, if you can call standing on a rock an “advantage”.
If I remember rightly, being higher in GW1 gained a Ranger extra damage, I always used that to my advantage.
It’s just stupid.
Well put, I agree with this view 100%. Introducing challenging content does not need to segregate the haves and have nots as shown over the last 3 years with the rest of the game. It’s a shame Anet implemented raids the way they did.
It’s 100% from me as well, good post.
Not me! I want more “adventures”! I want to be able to choose between fighting an end boss in a raid OR playing a Tyria-inspired game of Candy Crush™. Oooo Tetris!
And I think we should have some sort of…I don’t know…place where we grow crops and such and we can have our “friends” help us out. Call it the “Place-where-you-grow-your-crops-Ville”.
If they were completely optional…meaning just for fun (if you find that type of activity fun)…then yes. I personally do not find candy crush, tetris, or any mini game activity to be fun. What I find fun is the core content of GW2…which does not include mini games. I have no problems with the existence of these mini games. What I do have an issue with is ANET locking core GW2 content behind mini games. I don’t appreciate them blocking character progression behind these mini games. My character is not fully functional until I complete all the masteries. There will be places I can’t reach without leyline gliding. I will be missing out on conveniences like auto area loot and movement speed in major cities. I will be vulnerable to chak acid. I’m sure there are other parts of the content I paid for with the expansion…that I will also miss out on if I don’t cave into the pressure and complete these mini games. I wouldn’t mind them as much if they were the same type of content/mechanics as the rest of GW2.
I personally think ANET needs to add additional sources of mastery points and mastery experience to the maguuma areas. These areas are going to die once players have gotten their masteries and achievements completed. I know they have this absurd aversion to dungeons, but they need something that players actually want to repeat…that does not involve zone wide coordination and up to an hour of this zone wide coordination. I originally thought adventures would be this content…until I played the first one and just realized they were mini games instead. If they invested any amount of focus group testing…they would have scrapped these current adventures before launch.
Well said ODB, my thoughts as well.
They should be optional, and yeah I hate them.
Yeah, the jump thing bugs me a bit. Surely a bird could just fly down!
Maybe they could look into making the Stow Pet feature more permanent. That way people who rarely want to use their pet, or don’t want to use it all, can just tuck them away.
Hmm, yes, that’s my suggestion.
Yes brilliant idea, we had the choice in GW1 why not here, keep everybody happy.
The problem as I see it, others have suggested the pet is anything from 30% to 50% of out damage, but we probably only get that 30% to 50% damage for 10% of the time because 90% of the time the pet is dead or off on a jolly somewhere.
So in real terms, the pet is probably only worth 3% to 5% damage.
I’m sure somebody be itching to tell me ALL about pet managment, ewww !
Yes it’s SO annoying.
Just change the talk to npc and pick up loot to different keys, it’s very frustrating in combat when a massive talk to npc dialogue window pops up !
The “F” key does too much.
Since when did GW2 become a Hardcore MMO?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

I wouldn’t say “Hardcore” many aspects of the game are still very casual friendly.
There are some tough area’s and event’s, and some area’s that the casual player will be excluded from for ever (Raids), which is not really fair as we all paid the same price for the game, and we should all be able to experience all aspects of the content we paid for, regardless of how good or bad player we are.
Personally, I don’t like jumping puzzles, but I can persevere with them and get there eventually.
What I don’t like at all is the stupid mini-games, I hate them with a vengeance, I’m rubbish at them, and you are forced to do them because they are tied into mastery points.
If I wanted that sort of rubbish I would have bought “Super Mario Brothers ©” or whatever.
I can’t get away from overflow even in my home server, whatever time I go to sparkfly I’m stuck in crummy overflow.
People are just camping in the non-overflow servers forever.
Must be starting a trend here, I have a (Ranger) guild with only one member.
Good luck with that !
I’m above average.
Shame this is not reddit so I won’t get huge downvotes.
Of course your “above average”. rolls eyes
(Where’s the -1 button again ?)

Removing waypoint cost would allow me to move around more freely without any concern for money at all, which as expressed several times, is more of a hindrance to my gameplay, that being said not saying removing all goldsinks, just the one really, basically pointing out that that particular one is just a bit overboard in regards to all the goldsinks, but like i said, just removing that one wouldn’t harm the economy of the game, and it would make the game more fun because we’d be more free
This yes, it would allow people to travel about and socialise more, it’s just stupid charging for waypoints, it’s broken the game down to a single player game.
We have plenty of reasons to walk if we need to, farming materials etc, why would we want to spend ages walking to meet friends etc, I just don’t know what Anet was thinking this would achieve, please tell me.

Hey guys,
I just want to share my opinion how amazing(imo) the Ranger could have been.
I’m not posting this into ‘Suggestions’, because the devs won’t care about such more or less drastic profession changes anyways.
So let’s start.Lore
In the past years the Ranger adapted more and more to the nature. He learned to communicate with the spirits of nature, be it animals or elements. That way he came to the point, where could not only tame the physical shell of an animal, but his spirit to unleash powerful, unrestricted attacks to his enemies…Class Mechanic
- The Ranger himself has 100% dmg (not 50% Ranger, 50% Pet like it is now, i dunno the exact numbers)
- No active pet, but 2-4 slots on the F1-F4 keys
- Keep taming pets (their spirits) in the open world AND their F2 skills
- Ranger can use the skills freely in combat by pressing the key
- Now a ghostly form of the animal will appear and execute the skill
- On the F1-F4 keys there can be only 1 skill per animal category
Example
- F1 Feline – (Jungle Stalker) 5 Might Stacks (maybe nerf it to 3 for balance)
- F2 Bird – (Raven) Heavy Hit on high cd
- F3 Bears – (Brown Bear) Shake it off
- F4 Canine – (Wolf) Fear on high cd
Notes
- Maybe a bit OP.
- Maybe nerf the F2 skills. Give them casttime, being interrupted, when interrupting the Ranger.
- Maybe only 2 or 3 “F-Slots”
- Pet-bound traits could be decreased, actually useful traits could be created
Of course this needs polishing, but i feel like Ranger would be so much more useful, that way. Right now we are relying on something, that just doesn’t fit into this game.
You can’t make a whole profession dependant on a pet, which can’t dodge, move in safety, think for strategies. This game is SO player-skill based. You can’t make such an intelligent AI, that it comes up for that.
That’s just my opinion, but i guess it’s pretty reasonable.
Anyways. Tell me how you like my idea.
Oh wait, ArenaNet spent how many years developing this game ?
And you come up with a better Ranger in what, 15 minutes, the time you took to write that post.
I like your vision of how the Ranger could have been much more than the crummy ranger we have now.
you get hit..you are injured and trying to run while something is beating on you. Also you dont go into combat until you get hit…if you dont want to get hamstrung, STOP getting hit.
Nope, my character has slowed down to a crawl way before I get hit…………
Yes this
vespers.1759
it’s painfully slow…
I don’t mind challenging, I don’t mind hard………………
I don’t like stupid, which this seems to be at the moment.
It’s just a massive (Never ending) GRIND.
100% plus on that.
And let me have my Ranger GW1 armour back as well.
