^ THEN DON’T TAKE THE DRUID TRAITLINE AND DON’T BE A BLOODY HEALER.
Jesus Christ what is so difficult to grasp?
Your argument amounts to “Druid didn’t take the direction I wanted it to boohoo”.
The rest of us are happy with it, you’ll just have to wait for the next Espec or – a wild idea – continue playing Ranger as you have been doing these last 3 years.
Like I said, Rangers are likely to be pressured into going healer.
And there’s really no need to be so aggressive, just saying how “I” feel about it.
There are other promising games being (Been) released shortly, so many of us may already be gone by the time any paid for GW2 expansion is released.
Who cares about pve, you can go around naked and win. How about wvw where I love my Ranger but hate my pet.
Yup agreed, the pet is even more useless (If that’s possible) in WvW.
Karizee
“As fast as they lift the caps on the servers they fill up again. The game is busting at the seams, it’s a phenom!”
Wow, show me, busting at the seams, I must be playing a different game then.
Where do all you guys get your information from.
Hero challenges should never be forced group content, you need them for elite specs and map completion. Requiring you to depend on the whims of other players to do something that the rest of the game let you do by yourself is bad game design.
I agree 100%
Yeah totally agree.
No I would’nt pay a sub, (The Ranger is broken).
I think the simplest solution to your problem is this,
Don’t play Ranger.
Some of us just want to play a Ranger, me included, in fact I only have one character a Ranger since the head start.
I hate the pet, and I don’t think they will ever fix it, but I don’t think they will admit to that and will continue to force us to play with a pet.
The problem as I see it is people will just go off and play a Ranger elsewhere, a Ranger that gives them the options they are looking for.
BLTC has been like that since beta, there’s not much you can do about it.
It looks the best if you set your graphics options on “Best Appearance” and “Normal” interface size (Or bigger).
What if armour made you run a bit faster OUTSIDE the city.
5-10% would be nice.
+10 to the OP.
This needs to go, it’s the most annoying mechanic, lame and really frustrating.
Rangers are getting a good buff next patch. Wait until then.
We’ve been promised that before, and seriously let down, so dream on.
The Biggest change Anet can do right now is removing bloody Signet of the Beastmaster and making that baseline.
Absolutely silly we have to invest 30 points in a line to get the same effect as everyone else.

And like I said, if you don’t want to play healer, don’t play it.
The only potential “pressure” from others would come from the Raid content: you’re forgetting the game modes that are far more significant than Raids: WvW, PvP and open world PvE, in all of which there is nobody to kick you for not being a healer.
Also, you’ve played Ranger for this long while we’ve always had kick-threats, what’s changed? We actually have an option now to be useful in a different way. And that’s all it is – an option. If you don’t want to be a healer then roll a zerker frost spotter Ranger.
You’re whining about how you feel about it. Constantly.
If you want it to change how about offering constructive feedback and suggestions as to what you want to see, instead of boo-hooing like a child who hasn’t got what he wanted.
Still aggressive I see.
“Can we make mentor harder to get?”
Not until I have it, thank you and goodnight.
Just disconnected again withing the last 7 minutes of an eveasion event, getting bored with it now.
ANET can you make some mini-game easier????
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Solid Gold.9310
Yeah, who needs challenging content, when you can get the achievements spoonfed to you? /rollseyes
I want challenging content involving my using my class specific skillbar. Not content where ANET denies me that choice and forces a build upon me.
I want content where I control the camera. Not content that forces me into action camera mode.
I want multiplayer content. Not single player content that has been done better by offline games.I want the only people talking about adventures to be the people who enjoy them. Which won’t happen while we are required to play those pathetic minigames to get enough mastery points to unlock everything.
Yeah well said.
“Timbersword.9014….. Pretty sure this is just another veiled “I warp too much and I’m broke!” thread.”
Geez, sorry to dissappoint you but it’s not. (Nice try but your way off).
Yeah of course you meet different people out in an area, but they generally have different things they want to do than you want to do, partying up is pointless because they go their way which is different than your way.
Yeah DE’s can be great fun with a fair few people, and following through a chain of events, after which everybody goes and does their own thing.
They are social, get together events in a way, but not the sort of “socialising” I was thinking of.

Get daily chest.
Think, what shall I do, think about “Adventures”.

Play Fallout 4.
It may be 40% of your damage, but it’s only 40% for 5% of the time, the other 95% it’s hobbling about twisted and dead.
(edited by Solid Gold.9310)
so stop playing gw2 and go back to wow [/quote]
Nah ArenaNet don’t want people to do that, so they want to be everything to everybody.
Question about HoT release time [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Solid Gold.9310
Ah that’s different, when I first looked it was 12 hours, now it’s 22 which is about 07:30 hours for me, that’s better.
“At time of loading, accuracy was within 0.315 seconds” just have to laugh !
Totally agree with the OP.
It’s a grind and ArenaNet are going every which way they can to stop you grinding or making any real in game money.
It really is closest to a f2p game, except you have to buy it, so it’s b2p.
GW2 falls in line with many Eastern/Korean f2p games, it’s the same business model, except Eastern/Korean games are a grind, they realise that and don’t try to nerf everything.
No thank you, good try ArenaNet epic fail though.
In my opinion, it’s average.
And will soon be bettered.
Check the game Wildstar. Check who is the publisher.
And, go on ?
I don’t hate the game, and I don’t hate HoT, I just hate the so called “Adventures”, might come back if they ever change them.
Funny how such a small thing made me quit after sooo many years of playing everyday !
Upgrade your computer and internet line?
It’s nothing to do with that.
I believe they are working on doing away with culling in PvE, not sure if we will see it included in the next patch.
Culling is really bad in PvE, get a few metres away from somebody and they disappear, or run into the bank for the merchant to appear after you get there.
I think some of you are missing the point here……………
“The cost of waypoints is having an impact on the social aspect of the game”.
…Needs to be said. I’m going to go to bat for this topic.
So, per Colin’s statement, a small guild of 3, or 6, or, 9, or 11 real life family, friends, relatives, and co-workers does not constitute a real guild anymore, is that correct Colin? Really!?
Husbands, wives, and kids? Not a real guild? Really!?
I know for a fact, that there are grandparents playing the game with their grand-kids to be able to hang out, if only through their avatars. They are not really considered a guild!? (You should cherish this fact, not quash it!)
Guilds like this are supposed to invite outsiders into their personal guild, so they can grow-up into a real guild now? Hardly! These players don’t deserve to be able to open the guild hall they paid for? They wouldn’t benefit greatly by having a guild hall to hang out in, and incentive to play the game more? And to think…They paid for it with the expansion pack with hard green cash!
Personally, I paid the full $100 for it, to help development costs, and, help get one sooner. And, so did some of my (“guildies?”). And, now, we are being told that because we all work different shifts, and some are busy raising children, and some are temporarily sidelined with internet connection problems, that we can’t open our guild hall. Nor, earn guild credits for doing things we do. Unless, of course, we pay other players (or, recruit from our other guilds) to help open it. Or, invite outsiders, that we don’t know in real life, into all of our small friends and family guilds?
And, to think, it is just an instance on our computers. One that we paid hard cash for mind you!
I find it really quite insulting, to so many of us, that Colin essentially stated that a small guild with “husbands and wives and kids”, or even one with “3 generations of family”, (you read that right, they do exist in game), is “Not even considered a real guild anymore”. The core values of this game have apparently gone right into the toilet. What happened to Eye of the North values, where we all had our own personal halls to share as we pleased?
The dictionary defines a guild as: “an organized group of people who have joined together because they share the same job or interest.” Maybe we do. Maybe just not in the same time slots.
Personally, I feel that my guild can’t really contribute to much of anything anymore. We can’t even +5 camps in WvW anymore, we can’t earn points for anything to contribute to anything anymore, because we suddenly don’t really count as a guild anymore. Because we all have real lives, and we all work, and play, on different schedules. And, we don’t want people that we can’t call on the phone, or hang out with in real life, in our guild.
But, we do see each other in real life regularly, and can discuss how we probably won’t have a guild hall any time soon, if ever. Nor, can we do anything in game that benefits our guild anymore, because we can’t seem to get 5 of us together at the same time. And, it instantly makes them want to play less, not play more.
Yet somehow our small guild that “Isn’t really considered a guild anymore”, previously, had all kinds of things earned, which have now been mostly taken away. So, to combat abusers of the system, you would quash the true Guild Wars players that have often been with you since the beginning of GW1? Seems more like “Anti-Guild Wars” to me. Yo, computer nerds, you’re now required to join the football team, and cheer-leading squads! Be a part of the new big corporate guild conglomeration! Join the guild union! Show up for guild meetings, or get kicked. 100% rep. guild now taking applications, fill out an application, and we’ll consider you for our big guild, but only if you run approved builds, and can play at least 80% of the time in your designated time slots, and only if you are a profession we need! Shape up and play right!
….Or, you don’t really count as a real guild anymore. No thank you.
We’ll get our guild hall open, one way or another, someday. But, IMHO, it’s not the way it ever was, nor, is it the way it should be now. It’s essentially brings new meaning to being “guild kicked”. And, it’s not exactly fun, nor rewarding, listening to everyone else in game talking about their wonderful new guild halls. While so many of us don’t really even have a chance to open our own, on our own. Feels pretty lousy to a lot of us. Especially due to the $50 to $100 that the rest of us spent towards developing “their” shiny new guild halls.
…Had to be said.
Yeah totally agree, we got shafted.
Spirits are about as much use as a handbrake on a canoe !
This is a VERY poor patch, it’s done really nothing for Rangers.
They were weak and feeble, the are still weak and feeble.
Pets are useless still.
Yeah it’s rubbish.
6 angry mobs want to tear my face off, so it targets the longhorned sheep thats way off and l can’t even see.
Great stuff.
Take non-threatening targets OFF of auto target.
AFKers and dead people that refuse to WP are a big problem.
Now I always thought the strafing was ok, the running is pathetically slow though.
We need something, anything, something to put the excitment back in PVE.
It’s all got pretty boring pretty fast, if they want to keep players playing then give us something to make the adrenilin flow.
Even the Lost Shores thing was a “press 1 sidestep” event, more like a ballroom dance,
We need more content, something to do, something to regenerate the lower areas because they are all dead.
Not excited, got excited before and we were let down.
There’s little hope for the Ranger.
i did not buy raiding game and i do not play raiding games….after i put over 2000 hours into this game and spent 500 euro on it..all of sudden the game becomes a traditional raiding game with sweet legendary armor is locked behind raiding wall just like raiding games where high end gear and special reward comes from raiding only.
at least rift/wild star/wow were honest as matter of fact they even reduce the difficulty or added easy mode to help casual players while gw2 did not even add easier version.
to me anet betrayed me and i will never spend a single euro on this game and when next expansion comes i will wait for review and ask my friends if next expansion is similar to hot then i wont even buy it.
and to all fanboys do not even tell me legendary armor is optional…i bought gw2 because everything in the game including legendary items were access able to even most casual players it was just matter of time but it was possible to get it non the less.
This is good, no ?
Yeah sums it up well, and how many players must feel right now.
Just no it’s not Gaile Gray.
Galen Grey.4709 has been here for 3 years.
It’s not a grind like a Korean mmo.
But it is a grind, just not quite as bad.
Levelling is a total bore (chore) whatever you want to call it.
Thats why I will only ever have one character.
Waypoint cost, that’s why I generally play alone.
I feel really sorry for anybody starting this game from new now, they are going to have a tough time.
I’m assuming it’s simply to allow mobs a chance to actually hit you before they leash.
Please just tell me it’s NOT just because of that.
The slowed movement speed just makes the game so slow, boring and dull.
Lots of posts about this, NO comment from ArenaNet…………
Yeah lets have a PROPER expansion, not this tacked on stuff, there’s no game content in the stuff they are adding now.
Chopps
“Well, let’s see if we can address those issues. Did you send the pet in for a few hits then call it back to safety on about a 10s cycle? Try sending/calling your pet and practice doing that a few times before coming back to the forums. Also, in my opinion, you should have equipped pets like raven (blind) or owl (chill). Birds are great for landing a quick utility on a boss and then flying back. If I can keep duel birds alive during boss fights (I do this every day) then I know you can keep your pets alive.
Also, trait into beastmastery.”Yeah wonderful, lets see, the pets dead as a doorstop before it gets there, limps back, wait for pet swap cooldown, because even if the pet recovers to 85% health it still ain’t gonna do anything.
No it’s just wrong, we have enough to do without trying to micro manage a dead pet, and we’ve had all the send the pet in call it back rubbish before, it just don’t work, the pet is trash.
I’m going to do a ranger training session next weekend. Keep your eye’s peeled for the post; I’ll teach you the techniques I use to make effective use of my pets. Remember, as another person wrote, you can’t just “fire and forget” the pet. In case you don’t have time to train with me I’ll leave you with this: if you’re not calling/sending your pet on roughly a 5 or 10s loop, then you’re going to lose your pet on a boss battle. If no profession can perpetually tank a boss, then why should you expect your pet to? You have to always be aware of your pets location and health. If you don’t know where your pet is or if your pet died, 9 times out of 10, it’s because you made a mistake.
No thanks, I don’t want you telling me “how” to play.
I have played a Ranger since the 3 day head start, I have played a Ranger in many other games, I played a Ranger for 6 years in GW1, I think it’s a bit late for you to show me HTP.
You can see from my other posts, I don’t like the pet, I don’t want the pet, and I don’t want to have to micro-manage the pet.
I want to play a Ranger how I see the Ranger, not be forced to play how Anet want me to play.
This is not a Ranger it’s a beastmaster.
If you just wanted to be an archer why didnt you pick warrior or thief? Since you’ve played ranger since head start surely you realized the entire class revolves around the pet? Why put yourself through the annoyance of playing something you dont enjoy?
Yeah thought about that, even started a Warrior (Ranger), blah can’t use shortbow, and the longbow is so pedestrian, and got a bit bored after a few levels, really wanted a short bow for PVE. (Warrior can use a longbow but not a shortbow, dur) Although as a Beastmaster cough I do use a longbow for WvW.
Thief, well I’m guessing a thief can’t use a longbow (Correct me if I’m wrong).
So if you want to be a Ranger (Archer) you have to be a Ranger, there are no alternatives.
And I get bored with levelling, I can’t face all those hearts, vista’s and poi’s again.
Having levelled my Ranger, I guess I was hoping they might patch the pet and make it work, but it’s still well borked and likely to take years to get anywhere near right, IF they ever do.
All the Ranger seems to get are nerfs and a buff, to what was it, spear gun, really, speargun !
My dream patch…………..
Optional pet and a buff to make up for not having a pet.
The “Master bowman” with a bow that does more damage than the greatsword. (Ooops they will probably nerf the greatsword now !).
Oh and barrage that works like barrage did in GW1, not the stupid small ranged barrage it is now.
Q: What is the ranger niche in the game?
A: Ranger is the pet class.
Really love my Ranger.
Really hate my pet.
I want my old GW1 armour back………..
So there.
Ranger is awesome in pve except for the occasional pet getting nuked.
Cough
The new content being added, and it looks like it will continue to be added, the pet lasts 3 seconds on a good day.
