No because lvl 80 zones wont be affected by the megaserver rollout until later this year.
So how’d that prediction work out for you, I see T6 blood has hit 48s each now.
Looking at TP Sell/Buy prices and Supply vs Demand, Ancient Wood looks fine, but Ori Supply seems to be steady while the Demand has gone up (but the price is relatively stable).
BTW, you mentioned Powerful Blood (not a node associated material as mentioned previously). It’s price in FACT spiked down a good bit after the patch went live and has since rebounded to pre-patch levels and while it HAS moved slightly higher since the patch there was a spike in demand (for some reason) and NO drop in Supply (your claim of a pending problem).
So far, I see no evidence that the Megaserver system has in any way “hurt” the overall economy in terms of farming nodes. Obviously, it’s not as easy as looking at GW2nodes any longer, but I loaded several characters into Frostgorge last night and they all hit the same nodes (once I located them by using MAP chat for 15 seconds).
I know I am farming less because I just don’t have the time to run around the map to look for the nodes. Previously it was so convenient to just use the website to go to where they are. Now, that website is mostly useless.
I assume I am not the only T6 farmer affected by this. But if you have lots of time to explore the whole map, sure, you are probably not affected.
I would argue that the mayority of common t6 mats is being generated by salvaging, not gathering, so this change might have a bigger impact on you personally than the general player base. Right now it also seems that there are more people in Orr and Southsun that werent there before. They might not farm nodes but will pick up whatever they come across, so theyfarm more ori and ancient wood than before.

Yes, it’s terrible. And omnious. And devastating.
Though a lot of people die of starvation and such everyday and I don’t see any dedication thread to them by any players. I sense some double standards but do not wish to start any political discussion about. It’s just a reminder.
But then I also can understand why this forum may not be the place for this kind of topics.

As a crafting guide, use http://www.gw2crafts.net/
The weapon and armor crafting professions are pretty straitforward and more or less the same.
Cooking is something completely different but not as expensive and jewelling is something inbetween, even though those 2 professions might get more expensive in march when we will be able to raise them to 500.
If you cant bear leveling your crafts, just sell all your materials and start farming gold to buy your leggie off the tp. You will pay a premium for the account bound currencies that go into a leggie (karma, skillpoints, dungeon tokens etc.) but you will save on leveling your crafting and dont have to do world exploration, if you havent done it yet.

Could you get Josh to add a recipe for the new exotic aquabreather since he’s adding forge recipies?
He just did!
10 each t2-5 snowflakes -> 5 giant wintersday gifts!
I opened 7500 giant gifts and got 1 aquabreather.
So all you need to do is to buy 60 stacks of each t2-5 snowflake and start forging/open gifts!
Awesome, isnt it.
Just kidding.
One forge attempt costs 50 silver atm if you buy the flakes on buy order, while 5 gifts cost 30 silver.

Well, usually all the items that you want to have from the chest (weapon tickets/scraps, permanent contracts, skins) are available on the tp for gold for a far better price.
Even if you open 10k chests, you will still end up paying gems for items you dont want and loose in the end.

If you pay 200g, you are doing something wrong.
You propably follow a mediocre guide on the internet that everybody else uses and dont gather stuff yourself.
The 200g figure also doesnt subtract the money you get back from selling the stuff you crafted.
If you know what you are doing and know the market, you can even make a profit while leveling from 400 to 500.

Hi,
I was farming Black Lion Keys for scraps. When I was doing this for Dreamthistle GS everything was good, but now… I spent 12 keys with no result… I know that there is small chance for scraps, but it looks like a 0% right now. Funny though, how your goal went from
“Trying to make the TP as a sink more efficient.”
and
“It helps keep markets liquid”
To
Potential Earnings on the TP should be brought more in line with the rest of the reward structures.Well the first two are very obviously not consistent with the proposals made. I don’t want to immediately pivot from well-intentioned but misinformed to disingenuous.
If you’re really concerned about the impact of wealth disparities on the typical experience you should be lobbying for more robust crafting trees; sufficiently robust crafting eliminates virtually all the potential negative impacts of big piles of wealth.
I never said that im concerned about wealth disparity because wealth disparity isnt an issue in GW2.
Even if I have 100k gold, Average Joe, who had a hard time farming his first 100g, should be more concerned about the 2000 people that have 500 gold in their wallet because those 2000 people, even though they only have as much gold combined as me, can create a far higher demand for an item or mats than me.
They all might go for an ascended armor set or a precursor but they demand 2000 each of them while I only demand 1 each.

I usually keep 100-200g in liquid cash or buy orders to generate short term profits.
Everything above that, i usually exchange for gems or put in long term investments.
Hard to say how much gold i actually have locked in long term investments because those are taking up around 300 bank slots atm, not counting stuff in my collectible tab, which is pretty full as well.
100g at hand I usually use for buy orders for 20-30 items that i know i can make short term profits of, then i use another 50-100g to put in buy orders for either long term investments or new markets.
This way i make around 30-100g short term profit per day, depending how much time i invest.
I usually dont do direct flipping of items, as i find that boring for short term profits.
Most of the stuff i buy short term, either gets crafted into something else, salvaged into something else or opened, then sold again.

not all – there is a sudden drop of 7 gold …which happened early today – I just started watching it last night because the price was so high at 19 gold – then the 10’s and 9’s and suddenly 2.
As others already mentioned, it is not the 2g price tag that is uncommon, its the 19g spike that happened yesterday.
The spike most probably happened because someone bought out most of the stock and didnt check, how much of those swords were actually listed at 2g.
Most of the pearl weapons bought on the tp are being dumped into the mystic forge and not being equipped.

The mini collector buyers continue to be the one group I simply do not understand.
Me neither, and I’m one of them XD.
I’m one of the mini-pet tycoons on the GW2 NA server. That said, I had invested over 5k gold in various minipets (mainly set 1) over the last one year. They have been sitting on the TP all this time, but today morning I got a nice surprise. I found out that I had sold 3.8k worth of minis (after taxes), and I still have more that needs to go! Suffice to say, I’m delighted by this update.
Tycoons that dont know that a NA server regarding the TP doesnt exist, arent tycoons.

1. Opening up with new permanent zones is awesome with tons of new Dynamic Events and jumping puzzle to experience.
2. Keeping contents permanent is exactly what I want so the game expands with more things to do instead of taking things to do out.
3. Experiencing the Story should always be part of the permanent content to allow everyone to experience it at their own time so character development is told properly.
But for now, assuming Season 2 will be like Season 1 in terms of temporary content driven story… I think it’s a big mistake…

And why should t5 leather and t5 cloth have the same value, if both drop on an evenly basis for all players?
1 – Why shouldn’t they?
2 – Who says they drop on an even basis for all players, at all times? Especially as some places the salvage item drops do not always include cloth salvage items . . .
1. Because they are different items, with different drop rates and different uses.
2. Youre right. I get more silk than leather on a general basis. So should silk drop less or more?
I think Anet did a good job in adjusting the silk output in the last couple of months and introducing silk nodes isnt neccessary.

The current resource system was designed to work well for the initial leveling experience, and it does. But it does not work well once you are max level, which is where you will spend the vast majority of your time. Leveling is the first few months at best, max level is everything else for the remainder of the game. As such, the resource system has 2 large issues:
- Drop rates from bags are influenced by character level. Items stop being dropped from bags, or at least have their drop rates significantly reduced, in exchange for others, as you increase in level. Essentially, this PUNISHES people for actually playing characters by lowering the drop rates of needed items if you dare to actually max out your character. Instead, people have multiple characters they ACTIVELY DON’T PLAY just so they can use them to open bags.
- Material nodes are based entirely on map level. So a level 80 map will only have T5 and T6 nodes. But since ALL FUTURE MAPS WILL BE LEVEL 80, we will NEVER get new sources of lower level materials. This forces people onto maps they have no interest in playing, which they have already completed, and on which they do not actually participate, but merely run around ignoring all events and enemies while they farm. This degrades the experience of all players on these lower level maps and causes issues with event completion and aggro swarming.
Drop rates and nodes distribution need to be changed to a progressive, rather than exclusive, model. You need to gain new drops from bags WITHOUT LOSING THE OLD ONES as you level, and new nodes types need to be added to maps WITHOUT REMOVING THE OLD ONES as map level increases. Being max level should let you obtain anything that can drop from bags and a max level map should have nodes of all tiers on it. The game should not punish you for leveling.
(Additionally, already the sources of T5 and T6 mats outnumber the sources of any other tiers by more than 2-1, and eventually, if the system is not changed, they will outnumber all other tiers combined.)
This is working as intended as selling lower tier mats they earn while leveling to end game consumers gives newer players more valuable loot. It also gives incentive to endgame players to populate the old maps (or pay a premium for those mats).
Its a great way to transfer some gold from veterans to newbies and helps keeping the wealth gap in check.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Another issue is that so many players use the copper fed salvage tool which has a 10% chance of salvaging that leather.
?
One of the methods of getting the leather is through salvaging. However, T6 materials are rare salvages depending on the salvage kit used. If players want more frequent T6 mats in the long run, then they need to use better kits such as masters or mystic which give a 25% chance.
I was under the impression that only applied to ecto.
Nah. It impacts the chances of getting the next tier’s mats too.
edit: corrected my post as it’s not a flat % increase as indicated on the tools.
I would advice against using higher tier kits for salvaging.
I did some research into this “chance of rarer materials” on different salvage kits two years or so ago. I also posted my findings in a thread in the old crafting or bltc subforums, if you care to find it.
What i found out is that every salvageable items (gear as well as salvage items) seems to have an internal chance of salvaging the higher tier mat, which i believe is around 10%.
you can check that by using a crude kit, which according to its tool tip, has a 0% chance of rarer mats. But after salvaging about 1000 of the same item with a crude kit, I ended up with higher tier mats on about every 10th salvage on average anyways.
In the test samples i did afterwards with basic, fine, journeyman and master kits (10%, 15%, 20%, 25% of rarer mats) i realized that they add their chances multiplicative and not cumultative, so if you use a master kit, you dont end up with a 35% chance (base 10% + 25%) but with a 12.5% chance (base 10% * 125%).
So the difference in rarer mats you get, if you compare crude kits with master kits, isnt really worth the extra salvage fee.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
The salvage rates displayed on each salvage kit are misleading or bugged.
It depends on the level of the item, if it has a chance to salvage into a higher material in the first place.
And when it does, the rate doesnt seem to get buffed by the amount noted in the salvage kit tooltip.
I just salvaged 150 lvl52-54 tridents and staves, 50 each with crude, master and silver fed salvage o matic.
I only got hard wood (even though some staves were called soft wood staff of XXX).
