Mmo players with a screw loose vs mmo players with two screws loose. All very important stuff.

So you WANT to PvE, but you don’t want to do 2/4 PvE Dailies? So instead doing PvE as you so dearly want, you just make a post on how the dailies don’t fit your needs.
Yes.
[/quote]
You do realize that there are thousands of other players in the game, yes? Each with their own play styles and such. If Anet just made the dailies to suit you, the game would not exist, as only you would be playing it.
Not much money to be made in that.
This is just getting funnier by the minute.
To sum it up:
- You’re a PvE player who wants to do PvE Dailies, but only when they’re easy (because hard/no fun dailies aren’t what you want to do for 10 AP and 2 Gold).
And you’re claiming that PvP dailies are a whole lot easier, yet you’re refusing to do 1-2 of them. (5-10 minutes of your time, which according to your vote is less then the tough PvE dailies).
Guess you’re out of luck, because THIS is exactly what the PvP dailies are here for.
If you want solely PvE dailies, you can!
If you want solely PvP dailies, you can!
If you want solely WvW dailies, you can!
Want easy dailies? you’ve got to mix em up!
to give you an example. Today’s PvP dailies are:
PvP Daily Guardian or Elementalist Winner
PvP Daily PvP Player Kills
PvP Daily Thief or Mesmer Winner
PvP Daily Top Stats
To me you would be the player that says:
I only want to do PvP, but I don’t play Guardian, Ele, Thief or Mesmer. They should add “insert your main class” daily too because otherwise I can’t get my dailies in a fun way.
I would dance a jig if FOW made a return. Heck, I go to GW1 from time to time to just do a FOW run.
^this.
I did ask this a long time ago, and most people at the time complained that it was too human centric. Why would a chart want to go to a human gods domain etc.
Now I would argue why would a Charr go to FoTM, or in to the mists in general. They don’t believe in gods etc. I just want to go back there because I’d love to see the place in all its GW2 glory.
I hate the HoT maps. After I got my elite specializations done I made a point to never go back. I understand that HoT maps have had a make over but I have not had a chance to test it out yet. I actually have not even had the chance to play aside from log in for rewards due to being overseas on business. But if am I reading it right, if you have HoT some of the core game PvE daily have been replaced with some HoT PvE daily? If that is the case I’m no interested. And if that is the case it would be nice if the HoT PvE daily was in addition to the core PvE daily and not taking 1 or 2 of them away from core.
Just like the changes some time ago to daily, there are many areas of the game I have no interest in participating in. I don’t care for being prodded towards those areas of the game for the sake of increasing participation metrics. Sure I can do a quick PvP daily in a “PvP Daily let other team win” arena but what is the point of that? It doesn’t sell real competitive PvP participation as a whole.
Like I said, I’m lacking knowledge here. I’m interested in hearing more.
I think if you try out HoT again, when you return, you will be pleasantly surprised. Very pleasantly. I’ve stayed away from it for a long time, but went back after the patch, and it’s much different, and very rewarding (in more than one sense).
Good luck.
Do you personally own Heart of Thorns? Because as far as I understand, only people who own Heart of Thorns get the HoT dailies, not all players. And this is why it’ll be coming up for you. Similar to how players with no Level 80 characters won’t get Cursed Shore Event Completer.
By subtracting $15 from the company’s income, you force them to raise prices.
Let’s say someone works for 10$/hour but now suddenly gets paid a minimum wage of 15$/hour. His earnings have increased by 50%.
If everyone in all companies would earn 50% more money, the companies would need to make 50% more income to compensate and be forced to increase prices by 50%, so the people working at minimum wage basically wouldn’t gain anything.
But that’s not the case. Not everyone earns more, but only those working for minimum wage now, so the companies will never need to raise prices at the same rate that these people’s earnings increased. The raise in price if far, far lower, and thus people getting a minimum wage of 15$/hour do definitely get a net gain in purchasing power.
Your logic is off.
Economics will take over and prices will inflate if there is an overabundance of gold thrust into the system over time compared to prices. […] Kind of like raising minimum wage to $15/hour…. people who work at McDonalds thinks it’ll help them buy more stuff lol.
The minimum wage part of your post is pure bullkitten. These 15$ are not created out of thin air (like the 2g for dailies for example), they are substracted somewhere else from the companies income, so they don’t cause inflation at all. It’s just that a part of the wealth is shifted elsewhere.
I have an idea if you don’t want the 2 gold delete it or donate it to your guild.
Two gold means very little these days, not sure why this would bother anyone.
According to Anet response from AMA, this is meant as one of the means to help the more casual players. Most of the liquid rewards it seems are generated by relatively small number of players (and it’s also those players that are setting the prices for the more costly goods). For them 2g more per day don’t change anything really. On the other hand, people that do not farm are going to be helped by that boost.
^This
Here’s the quote:
Daily completion now giving 2g – We felt we had some room for increasing player income without risking major problems but we will continue to monitor the situation. Most wealth in the game is generated by people who are very proficient at generating wealth. They can bid a lot for what they want, because they have a lot of gold, and that process drives inflation. Meanwhile the broader player base is just getting by. So we keep a close eye on how much gold can be generated from extreme farming, but at the same time try to provide a decent income to normal players.
So this is something that has been known for a long time. Those with the means will set the prices. Those prices in turn provide incentive for others to acquire more gold.
That aside imo unless the wealth gap is addressed …ie enforcing some sort of cap on the high end, nothing will change as all the new wealth will funnel to them anyhow only reinforcing the status quo.
Btw… all these things just sounds to me more like a sneaky attempt to push people to purchase HoT or spend more time in HoT maps. I won’t go further on this to not derail this thread though.
Players get awesome stuff like a free 80 boost and shared inventory slot, and ANet gets a boost in business. Sounds like a win-win for everybody to me.
~EW
And yet not a single person has said “You know what a nice thing for Anet to do. They didn’t have to make the Max to 80 boost and they sure didn’t have to put it in a shared inventory slot that they gave away for free. I sure do appreciate that”.
(not directed at the people I quoted, just used it as reference) Btw… all these things just sounds to me more like a sneaky attempt to push people to purchase HoT or spend more time in HoT maps. I won’t go further on this to not derail this thread though.
I don’t think it’s sneaky at all. Of course they want people to purchase HoT. Name one business that doesn’t try to market their products? It’s the entire point of being in business. A business that doesn’t market doesn’t stay in business for very long.
This game doesn’t have a monthly sub fee. It survives solely on box sales, of which only HoT is the one for purchase, and gem store items. And GW2 is one of the very few F2P games that doesn’t have pay to win items on their cash store.
Being at the top makes sense as it’s designed for things to be used across all characters, such as bank access, merchants, TP, etc. Being at the top makes it easier and faster for the items to be accessed.
Just amazes me people can always find ways to complain about being given something for free…
Some people have things organized differently on their characters. There is no one correct way. Some prefer to have everything on the bottom and there’s nothing wrong with that.
For weapons and such that are character specific, yes, I can see that. I do that myself with invisible bags. However, putting things like merchants in the bottom just adds more work to scrolling down to get them.
Besides, we are still talking about people complaining about something given to them absolutely free. If it’s so inconvenient for someone, ignore it. They literally are no worse off than they were before.
And are you bothered by people’s complaints? Just ignore it. :P Nobody asked for it, getting it for free doesn’t mean we wanted it or will have use for it. :P
Yes, I am. I see this in every game. And Anet has a history of doing more nice things for it’s player base than any game I have ever seen. In GW1 the player base was much more appreciative of it but GW2 just seems to have the whiners that WoW used to have. At some point when people do nothing but complain when they are given things for free it will make those who give the free things away that there is no benefit to them making that special extra effort.
People also need to stop and think about how complex an inventory database is. These shared slot are shared across all characters on an account. To make them movable isn’t nearly as easy as moving a bag from one slot to another as some posters seem to think. To make it movable the code would have to take into account hundreds of more variable such as one character may have 8 bag slots, another have only 6 while another may have only the minimum 5. There is a potential to have a lot of things break by adding in that customization into shared inventory slots that is much easier to do on an individual character. And if past experience has shown anything it’s that the ones who demand that their little wants are met will be the first ones to yell if what they want introduces a bug.
Per my previous post in this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Compensation-regarding-scribe-decorations/first#post6078781 I am still wondering when you spent this astounding amount of resources on scribing. Because the moment I saw their first comment that they would reduce the costs once they figured out how to deal with the various factors involved, I stopped leveling scribe other than incidental gains from making the 100 sandpaper needed for one hall upgrade. That was months ago. Granted my main guild is on life support and we aren’t exactly pushing the envelope on upgrades and decorations, so there was less pressure to worry about it, but even so there was notice that a cost reduction was on the way.
The longer ago you spent your resources, the longer you’ve had to enjoy having all the stuff, which is its own compensation. This isn’t as bad as complaining that you got to use a boombox for 2 years after buying it in the gem store but now your expense is wasted because other people that didn’t have it for 2 years can now get it for less. But it’s the same principle. You either spent early despite the grotesquely over-expensive costs and then had the cool stuff, or you spent after there was notice that the costs would go down. Either way you made that choice.
[…]
Whenever you craft anything, you decide that the thing you are crafting is worth it’s cost to you.
There’s absolutely no reason to demand compensations later.
If you think that something is not worth it’s cost – don’t craft it.
My main suggestion was not to get the money refunded
We want our gold/gems back.
thats the rub. you got those items 6 months before everyone else did. while those items dont translate backwards into something monetary you paid money to get something before other people.
this is hilarious. thanks op.
I have been waiting three years for them to start compensating me for all these awesome forum posts I make, so the line starts behind me (and no, all the infraction points don’t count as compensation).
I disagree with the OP too. If you buy a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner from a store at £200, and then six months later there’s a discount on that same model, you’re not entitled to a refund of the difference. And that’s real, not pretend money!!
As someone who spent over 10000g, nah it’s fine. You can’t expect anet to compensate you every time they change something. Where does it start/stop? Those guys who made nevermore before soft wood plank changes? The scribes? etc
Early adopters knew the risks and paid the price, that’s how it always works with new things.
I’m happy to read that Anet have decided to lower the cost of scribing/guildhall decorations.
But,
What about those who spent way too much money on this already?Idea:
Give the guildhall double-up on all decorations crafted before this was announce (1st April).Alternative, players like me who have supported you in this journey and bought 30.000+ gems and converted them to gold over the past months to be able to level scribe and fill guildhall up, – maybe give some of those gems back as compensation?
You wont get anything. The only time, that I’m aware of, they gave something in return to an announced change, was when they removed MF from gear stats. It’s like"waa~ waa~ they changed something, I must demand compensation" has become the community’s slogan or something.

Maybe not. Your choice to spend cash to buff your guild hall, your choice to not to wait for ANet to address the numerous complaints about the costs.
We’ve known for ages that ANet will change supply, demand, and direct costs of items|currency used for various functions. They have never provided refunds (with a tiny number of exceptions for when there was a specific price error on their part). When ecto drop rates were bugged too low, they didn’t offer up ectos to people who missed out (or even those doing research for science).
tl;dr I wouldn’t expect compensation because ANet chose to renormalize prices, supply, or demand of any function…including scribing and/or decorations.
I don’t understand the desire to want mounts just because every other game out there has them.
Not every game has to mimic WoW. They’re just screen clutter and are kind of ridiculous in my opinion. I watched the farewell video of the vanilla WoW server and was just shaking my head when watching people stroll through on the mounts.
GW1 also never had mounts unless you want to count the sandworm and the siege devourer.
If, and that’s a very big if, mounts are added, those that use them no longer have access to waypoints. If immersion is their biggest complaint then losing access to waypoints should not be an issue.
I want to PvE, but I don’t want to look at a list of PvE activities and see that 2/4 are activities I definitely don’t want to be doing that night.
So you WANT to PvE, but you don’t want to do 2/4 PvE Dailies? So instead doing PvE as you so dearly want, you just make a post on how the dailies don’t fit your needs.
Also as I recall correctly, this daily system was made for people to “step out of their comfort zone”. by getting a easy shrine cap in WvW, or play 1 game of PvP.
In a new patch we are getting reward of 2 golds for a daily achievements, it is too much in my opinion, with 2golds per day, just from achievements, its like 730g / year. With that big income of thousand players it could harm gw2 economy really hard.
What do you feel about that ?
Cant tell if this is a troll post or serious. You DO REALIZE that if you do TT and Teq once a day, you ALREADY get 2g a day.
So… wouldn’t this also mean that getting the 2g every day from Teq is also ruining the economy as well? The logic is simply astounding in this. Oh and not to mention the -les gasp- 5 gold you get from doing 8 unique dungeon paths, that’s simply going to break the system!
In other words, get over it.
