It could be much, much worse than what is going on right now. At least there’s an option to pay for gems with gold, some mmo devs don’t even allow that option.

Whether or not you come back to GW2 or not, you should clean the dust out of your PC and back up anything important on that hard drive that you would not want to lose permanently.

I actually think we could use some kind of “Writ of Exchange” in the Black Lion chests, to replace some of the worse drops. (Tomes, crafting bags.)

You can take the Writ and turn it in for any dungeon currency you want, maybe a few others as well. (Not Laurels, though.) I think people would find that more useful, and make the BLCs less likely to give you a “dud”, without unbalancing anything.

But, thanks for the replies anyways.

Isn’t what one like in looks really individual though? I mean, I think the Necromsmcer and sylvari really go good together, but maybe someone else can’t stand sylvari.

But since you asked, sylvari for necromancer. All sorts of good skin colors, faces and hair that can get you a look that’s really interesting.

You say that like it’s an accident.

You say that like it’s not. It’s impossible to know if it’s intended or not until it’s change or ANet comments on it.

Probably part of a cheap way to ensure that those without the expansion can’t cleverly find a way to get the armor stats anyway.

That’s actually completely irrelevant to the Fulgurite.

In order to make the recipe that uses the Fulgurite, they need an exotic insignia/inscription anyway, and if they have that, then they can just stat swap.

Konig des Todes said that Laranthir’s dialogue makes no sense lorewise and if anyone knows it, than Konig des Todes.

I also noticed the change in the second last mission at the “dna” rotating section, but I just thought that this is to make it harder (at higher levels of the dna string) to avoid the tendril aoes. I haven’t really looked at it, so I’m not sure if it’s really the Mouth or just some random obstacle.
My second guess is that Anet’s trying to bring those events in a different order and struggle because they totally lost the oversight over their creation, at least lorewise.

I found her overall character a solid way to express the plights of disabled people and the resultant determination of having to overcome hurdles many people overlook; and having the real-life equivalent of her condition (Charcot-Marie Tooth disease) made me relate to her in ways other video game characters have yet to even scratch.

Many kudos to the artists behind her creation.

The closest thing I can compare this to is being in the middle of a nice meal and some big fat come walks over, rips a giant fart and just leaves, sure you can keep eating but that stench is gonna linger, and when it keeps happening you just want to stop going to that restaurant.

Really, the best example you could come up with is ripping on obese people? Have to break it to you, people of all shapes and sizes can be flatulent.

How to make Gold

What I’m saying is you are telling people to spend their time staying in town, looking at spreadsheet, learning the market when they can spend their time “out side of town”. Maybe that’s what they rather do.

What I’m saying is not everyone want to spend their time doing flipping(which they might not enjoy).

Many people barely have time to play after work. I doubt they want to stay in town playing with the TP. Even if TP don’t take long for some, it still take “effort” to learn.

Sorry, but this is a bit of a useless argument. This is a thread about how to make gold. People suggest how to make gold. The TP is one way shown and saying “oh maybe they don’t want to do that” doesn’t do anything. Sure, maybe people don’t want to do flipping. But maybe they don’t want to do SW either. Or they don’t want to farm wood and the like. Maybe they simply want to known different ways of how to get money and do a little of everything. But the point is, that’s for the people to decide for THEMSELVES after seeing the possibilities. Not for someone else.

True, but in that case also mention the huge possibility of losing a lot of gold if you unsuccessfully flip. Which so far no one has done. All people have been saying is:“do it”.

That’s the major difference between flipping and other gold farm. If you farm Silverwastes and prices drop, you lose out on your income, but you aren’t risking ingame assets.

If you manage to curb your spending, you win all-around.

If you missflip (and that will happen) you will lose out on gold.

The inherent nature of the risk flipping holds is part of the reason why it can be so lucrative. If it were 100% safe, everyone would be doing it (well not everyone, but a lot more people).

You’re not exactly considering people either.
There are people who have no idea how flipping works or that it’s even a thing. I was among them. I only learned about it through the forums, read tips and tricks and other advice people gave and tried it out for myself. Sure, I’m nowhere near the level of Wanze or other trading moguls, but it helps me get a bit extra, so I can get some gems for gold or afford my next ascended armor.

Stating something does not make it true.

So you enjoy flipping and it works for you. Great. I haven’t seen you, as well as Wazzouf, once mention that flipping could be risky.

As long as we have threads where people have no idea:

- how the trading post works (listing tax and sell tax. had one of those just yesterday where someone was considering the TP being broken)
- how the gem exchange works (where gold gets created do to magic)
- people spending way more gold then thay make

I will not recommend them starting to flip as the very first option. If they get more accustomed or interested in how trade works, they’ll find out about these things on their own or in more serious threads.

No, I fully agree that risks should be mentioned and that flipping is certainly not the first advice to be given. Should I ever mention flipping as a gold earning possibility I will be sure to include that (if you check, I haven’t actually recommended anything here, just put in my two cents to the arguments below)
My real beef was just with the statement that a) people don’t want to stand at the tp to earn money and b) people who don’t flip yet and struggle to get money are incompetent for the tp and thus shouldn’t be told about flipping as a possibility. Both of which I don’t think to be true for everyone.

Eh, it is what it is. They’ve substituted content for “achievements” and “collections” for the most part to keep maps populated with people all going for various goals that require similar activities, thus the events get done. On the one hand, it’s pretty neat to do all the various event chains and participate in all of the storylines in the maps. On the other hand it can get boring to watch the same movie or read the same book 5 times, each time from a different character’s perspective.

The maps are gorgeous. Love the new gameplay, wish there was more of it in the expansion. But at the same time, the cost is decent. You’ll get the same game time out of it as you would many other games out there. Unfortunately they set the bar high with more bang for your buck early on and that’s what everyone was expecting.

On the plus side, you can take a break for a while and come back without missing too much.

Female asura’s voice are great! But there’s one thing keeps bugging me though.

Hmmm amazing what? Lying on the ground?

My husband plays all female Asura….his girls keep saying “So this is what it feels like to be Taimi”…..all the freaking time. Just standing there. It’d be better if she said that when she got crippled and not just standing around doing nothing.

What about this one:

“WHAT HAVEN’T I FOUND??? THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!”

lol that one gets so repetitive, I totally understand the other npc when he goes “hmmmm”, like jesus christ woman kitten already xD

Omg yes, i can’t stand those 2 NPC. They’re just as bad, if not worse, as those NPC’s in SW, or that annoying sylvari banker in LA. What is it with Anet? why are they doing this? To drive their players crazy? They deliberately put these annoying NPCs with their repetitive dialogues either right next to essential services, or the essential service NPCs themselves. I literally avoid LA bank and SW as much as possible and now, I’m avoiding Tarir as well.

The 2 NPC you mention in Tarir are unbearable. Once again, they’ve placed them very close to the only merchant there and they repeat the same sentence instantly over and over and over without pause. This is not only obnoxious, but very disrespectful of the players’ immersion. Sometimes it’s nice to have a peaceful moment while trading one’s goods and need to concentrate a bit so u don’t salvage or sell that wrong item. But that is impossible in gw2 these days without muting the sound.

I asked, no begged and i’m not the only one, to reduce that LA banker’s commentary when they first updated LA and i know many people have asked the same for those NPCs in SW. But not only have they ignored our pleas, they instead gave us even worse NPC to listen to in HoT.

It really boggles the mind why they want to destroy the player’s sense of appreciation for the immense VO dialogues they’ve created, by over doing everything. Sometimes, less is more and as much as i love VO in games, I’m being forced to mute my sounds to preserve my sanity.

Is that what u want Anet? You paid all them actors money for VO’s and your players are muting them coz u made the NPC’s repeat them so frequently, you’re driving us crazy. I don’t need the banker greet me every time i run up to them, nor do i need to hear them greet every other player that approaches them. Maybe you can make it so we can only hear our own greetings or our own pc commentary etc or something.

So please do something to change it, or at least reduce the frequency by like 99% ty.

toxic players usually don’t even realize they are.

It generally comes from an inability to think outside one’s own box.

Playing with friends and guilds is a good way to avoid dealing with them.

I agree that screen clutter has become too much in gw2. Kind of ironic really when u consider their ideology since inception of gw2 is to have minimal UI elements, so much so, they’ve denied us any type of customization of it.

I was in DS yesterday trying to complete the map, and with the meta event on and all the pvp, raid ads, my entire right side of the screen was covered in crap all the way where it was starting to overlap my mini map. Seriously Anet? What is this garbage? Like others have said, this is the only game that don’t allow u any options to customize ur UI and yet you insist on cluttering it for us and obscuring our vision.

2) Meta events are sometimes too long, its really hard for me to finish TD and even AB metas during weekdays because i don’t have that long to play. Add to it that if you logout you will most likely lose progression, if you go to guild hall to store crap you’ll lose progression, it becomes a bit frustrating, no banks in the jungle.

At some point anet is going to have to nerf or lower the required participation for HoT meta events. Either that or just come up with a new set of meta events that are smaller, shorter, and happen more frequently. It hasn’t been 2 months and already these events fail for lack of people. This will only get worse over time. If you haven’t killed the gerent in TD yet, odds are you never will.

Might surprise you to know that a vast portion of the gaming community do not go on or follow forums. I do because I don’t work and so I have time to play and read what the devs say and they do say a lot.

That is an opinion only and there is no way to back it up. I could just as easily say ‘It might surprise you to know that the vast portion of the original community do not go on or follow the forums because they have quit’. No way to prove your assertion or mine, so both are irrelevant. One could be described as a typical white knight post, the other as a hater post.
And yes the devs do have a lot to say, just not here.

Don’t they usually post on Reddit these days instead of here?

Opinions aren’t welcome here. Didn’t you know?

People will always either try to talk you out of them, berate you for character flaws implied by holding said opinion, or go off on tangents where they push straw men off of slippery slopes. The conclusion is always that you’re being unreasonable.

Or maybe people actually are just unreasonable?

Some of them certainly are. And i don’t mean OP. Not in this case anyway.

You guys seems to not get the point.Gw2 should not have been a gear based game nor a pve focused one: Anet stated this very clearly long time before the release of the core game.

And infact Gw2 pve was really bland since start,no depth mechanics nor variety, pve speaking. We had like 4 to 5 dungeons…and u usually got there to farm tokens for skins or farm gold: its a fact.

So if u dont have a good pve “endgame content” what was the “endgame”!?Hmmm….WvW!?

As i said this game always promoted the fast possible level experience: u can level with crafting, exploring, wvw, participating in undreds of events. And the same goes for gear acquisition: karma, crafting, pvp badges,TP.

In common mmorpgs u farm better gear to get access to more difficult challenges…and on GW2 u can only have this kind of mechanics in Fractals.

First of legendary: at the begining they were only supposed to be aesthetic, 1 year later “puff” best in slot with higher stats.
Exotic gear at the beginning were the top quality to aim…then ascended gear came…ohh boy.First was the ascended back pack from Fractals…now we have multiple ascended gear (accountbound) with time cooldowns on crafting….

To me Anet is just destroyin what they had, taking the opposit direction for everything they stated: “not a gear based game” to me looks we r getting really fast to that (just to say one thing).

According to their early/pre release policy this game shuld have been wvw focused, skillbased, with multiple way to gear up and anjoy the game as u please.

GW2 still isn’t ‘gear based’ except high lvl fractals and agony resistance, the actual raid wing has been proven to be beatable with a complete exotic group, it’s not ArenaNets fault that PUGs require ascended equipment

you can loot ascended boxes from fractals and world bosses and buy them for raid currency

The only thing I wish ANet would learn from WoW and apply to GW2, is clear and purposeful gear progression.

In WoW, you run dungeons to gear up for heroic dungeons. Then you run heroics to get the gear needed to raid. It’s a clear path, and you learn group play on the way. It makes sense.

No .. please no. If we ever get a gear treadmill here then i’m really out, and i guess
a lot of other players also, since that is one of the main factors why a lot people
play GW2.
Its already bad enough that they made legendary armor raid exclusive, and i
really hope the whole raiding thing will backfire hard.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
