Tbh, if he wouldn’t have tourned on his ANet tag, he would simply have been a kittenbag like there are many.
But with his ANet tag on, he represents the company and instead of being a kittenbag, he shows an incredible lack of professionalism and respect for the customer. While I agree that the community hasn’t shown much respect back, that’s still not acceptable behaviour when representing your company.

If this keeps on, GvG might really become a banable offense, and I doubt you would

Are you missing where the Anet Tag says they are infringing on his game mode? Thats what the uproar is about. Not that he stood around.
If you want to have GvG supporters no longer posting, then lets also get all the PvE complainers, PvP complainers and everyone else with an opinion to stop posting too, and we will just leave GW2 alone as is because no one wants to read people complaining.

Field fights that don’t contribute to PPT, duels, GvGs are all going against the dev’s vision of WvW.
Creating artificially balanced fights and otherwise having fun in ways that are not intended is pretty much an exploit.
Lmao that’s just sad. I haven’t felt like playing WvW or GW2 since the bloodlust buffs. The fact that employees would come to antagonize their loyal players just speaks volumes on how much they care about anything WvW players think or say.
This is really a shame. Employees need to learn that as long as they represent their company in public, their actions will be taken as the official company line. Players are going to see this as confirmation that ArenaNet hates GvG, and it’s just going to reduce trust and confidence further. That’s the last thing ArenaNet needs right now.

He’s obviously a WvW developer, calling WvW “his”. Since WvW only has two developers working on it, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that the developer depicted is in fact Devon Carver. Hugh Norfolk doesn’t seem like the kind of bitter dude who would do something like this. Devon has also shown a visible distaste for GvG in the past.

But really, this is one of the saddest / funniest things I’ve seen for the GvG community, because either:
1) This ANet guy had no idea what GvG was, and was thinking that we were just taking turns killing each other.
2) This ANet guy knows what GvG is, and dislikes it enough to consider a GvG a violation of “his” game mode.
Either way, this guy throwing his eKitten around seems to be a loose interpretation of:

It’s dedicated WvW guilds who spend 95% of their time “playing WvW” and are tired of being outnumbered and fighting for the rest of their server who does less and cares less than they do.

Sorry that this “name and shames”. I tried to edit but I’m woefully bad at doing so. Anyways, here is some screenshot of an ANET employee kind of being a jerk to us who were GvGing. Hopefully I don’t get infracted, but I imagine it’s coming.
It’s not something new, I’m not going to call him a dev but BG had a anet tag running around a while back. He would run around on ebg with a commander tag and pull pugs from the main commander, run around the map doing nothing. Hes was quite rude when people tried to address it and it caused a lot of anet flaming on our server for a bit. For us it was blatant greifing so after a mass report he moved to SoR…not sure what happened after that.
Well, he did have a point (if the story is true). You DID disturb his WvW, and the devs have made it quite clear that WvW will always be more important than GvG in WvW.
You are quite honestly the most annoying individual on these forums based solely on the nonsense you continue to post.

And that’s cute, whipping out the high horse to berate people for being cynical and bitter, despite the fact that people have given tons of feedback, but when the game has stagnated for so long you can only be so hopeful…. so..
Don’t get me wrong I like Teq, and the harder world bosses, I like wvw (even though I still would like to see less zerg play), and I loved the scarlet invasions. But Anet why on earth do you keep making huge open world content that you engine handles poorly? I have a pretty good PC as do many others playing but most of us struggle to even keep 20 fps during these events. Now that there are more mechanics and things to avoid in these fights the issue it even more apparent as half the time i’m dying to waves I cant even see or even if i can things are lagging so bad there is nothing I can do. I don’t think any of us want dumbed down content but something has to give somewhere. I think its time to step up and optimize your game in a significant way or start instancing content. You sold us a game targeting mid range systems and toting innovative combat. Right now even ppl with i7 processors and $400 video cards are have decent performance at best and the combat feels more like I’m fighting the engine than the mobs.
The posts in this thread so far do not reflect the views of DiVa as a whole. As a guild we try to respect the unwritten rules of sportsmanship but sometimes on the field things don’t go as planned or situations are misjudged, so we’re sorry if anyone feels cheated by our actions, as I’m sure is the case when roles are reversed.
That said, WvW is always going to get a little messy. There simply isn’t all that much room, so groups of varying sizes are bound to run into each other, and speaking only for myself, I don’t hold it against anyone if they feel the need for a little low-pressure ganking. It’s good stress relief.
We had fun tonight, so thanks to everyone who was on MS BL with us.

EDIT: Every kittening AFK or GROU or BL guy I encounter when I roam, will get some heavy teabag on them and emote spamming so you feel comfortable to your level.
Considering you did this to us (With 30+) when we had 31 people and YAK had engaged us (With 30+) I find this highly ignorant and hypocritical.
Try showing some dignity yourself before you start preaching.
