It is “soulbound on use.” Altaholic here, and I’m definitely not buying eight of them.
So as everyone knows, when you do the world boss events you get a bonus chest with 100% chance of a rare at the end, or an exotic. What people don’t know is it is not just the world bosses that you find on dragon timer. There are actually a lot of these events. I was running them yesterday with some friends who never knew they were there. We had a blast. SO besides the ones listed on Dragon timer, ill list the other ones.

Every Temple
Kill the Foulbear Chieftain and her elite guards. Meta event is called Ogre Wars. Located in fields of ruin.
Defeat Ulgoth the Modniir and his minions. Forgot the exact name of the meta event, but it is in the north eastern part of harathi hinterlands.
Defeat the dredge commissar. This is a dredge meta event where dredge and priory are fighting. It is located around the entry into SE in dredgehaunt cliffs.
Kill admirl Taidha Covington. This is a meta event in bloodtide, south west of the whispers base.
Defeat the fire shaman and his minions. This one can be kind of hard with a low amount of people (less than 10). North western part of iron marches in the flame legion base.
Destroy the Eye of Zhaitian. This is not a meta event. This is a world boss that has quite a few pre reqs. You will kill 3 champions, lots of vets, and then the ending is fighting a legendary boss. This is located in Zho’qafa catacombs.
Finally there is a mini dungeon that gives it too. Flame Temple Tombs. This is the north eastern part of Diessa Plateau.
Running around doing this with your friends is a lot more fun than spamming LFG for dungeons and fracs. I made about 5-6g doing them.
Notes: Dredge commissar, taidha, eye of zhaitain are all prone to bugging out. Some temples are too.
“not very effective”
not more to say to that, if you´re lucky, you can do everything what you want and you will earn money. if you are not, don´t try this.
gold→ exo 20-25% .. my own rate is about 16% with 1000try´s ( not minis)

The more skills are split the more people are pressured to stick with 1 game mode. I don’t want to have to re-learn my class to try a new game mode, or keep track of 3 different variations of each skill.
no offence but this sort of mentality just stinks of laziness.
Most people play video games as a form of leisure. The dude just doesn’t want to spend his leisure time that way. That’s not “laziness” that’s just called “having an opinion”.
Just because it’s his opinion doesn’t mean it’s not laziness. Complaining that you have to learn things to be most effective is most definitely lazy
Agreed. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but that does not mean they are entitled to have their opinion respected. The fact that a thought is an opinion has NOTHING to do with the validity of the opinion.
On point, NOTHING in Guild Wars 2 is difficult, aside from PvP-related activities. Sorry. Back in Everquest 1 you could spend an entire year leveling to max… PvP balance didn’t exist, and the game was incredibly fun. The level of a player was a form of social stratification.
Guild Wars 2 is a very relaxed mmo. VERY relaxed. It is easy. That is the draw for most players. Hardcore PvP’ers come because the spvp system is balanced and WvW is unlike anything else, but the game, as a whole, is very easy.
As such, “laziness” could either be seen as in-line with the game’s design, or, as I see it, as an excessive desire to have fun while doing, essentially, nothing.
It’s something we’re absolutely aware of and want to address in the future, one of my main characters is an engineer so I feel ya on this one. My poor quaggan backpack is visible like 2% of the time I play as I kit swap, never mind my weapon skins.
We’re currently focusing our engineering (programmers, not guys with net guns) resources that could work on solutions to issues like kits/skins on major systems that address issues higher priority and wider reaching like lag in large battles, LFG, custom arenas, spectator mode and so on but this issue is absolutely on our radar.
As always, please post your ideas of what you’d like to see solution wise, we love to see the fun ideas y’all come up with too!
I know your feel when it comes to Engineers with Legendaries. See attachment.
Really the only time I could show off my legendary is when I’m Lion’s Arch, or if I’m in a zerg killing a world boss where everyone can carry my crappy pistol DPS. If I’m doing dungeons, which I prefer to do than hop between various parts of the world to kill world bosses, I end up using my grenades.
Personally, I think the kits should adopt the visual themes from certain weapons we carry. In my case, I’d like to see the book from the shield grafted into my kits along with the page-turning effect to go with it.

Minipets need a bit of love where their functionality is concerned. I’m a minipet addict, but in GW2 I gave up using them. A few things that I think would make the minipets amazing (and no longer frustrating) would be:
1. Summoning the minipet will keep it with you regardless of waypoint/portal/changing zones/dying and will only leave your side when you desummon it or summon a different minipet.
2. Your summoned minipet matches your character’s speed. (I found it quite annoying to be constantly outrunning my minipet with my various characters that have run speed bonuses only to have it blink to my location while I again outrun it… over and over.)
3. Some kind of UI thing for summoning whatever minipets you own without having to keep them in your bags would be awesome, too ;)
I looooove minipets, and I really hope that at least those first two points are considered so that the minipet system isn’t something that feels like a cumbersome thing to remember to do all the time, but instead is just you and your little buddy who’s always with ya.

Gandara tends to lack coverage as well. It’s fine during primetime tho. Honestly, the day Anet adds awesome looking exclusive rewards in WvW, is the day Gandara will reign supreme. So much PvE players will flock towards it :p
Gandara – WvW Warrior
He’s saying that right mouse button can be used to select and deselect targets. This poses a huge problem because you’re constantly using right mouse button to move your camera/character around. In WvW there are tons of people everywhere so the chance of accidentally selecting someone (whether friendly or enemy) is very high when looking around, thus changing your intended target and messing you up.
This is one of the reasons why people don’t want to put up with this BS and use that combat mod.
Ensure all events have a worthwhile reward for the time invested, in relation to dungenons and other content. Example, comparing how long it takes to run AC with Jormag, then the rewards, the second seems pointless once you have done it a couple of times.
It doesn’t mean exotics need to grow from trees, just getting atleast a single rare in every major chest – or atleast something worthwhile, would increase player incentive and lower a lot of the negative feedback at so many events when people spend half an hour to get a couple of blues. I still have no clue why this has been set the way it is now.

no offence but this sort of mentality just stinks of laziness. I mean, i hate having to learn a new dungeon or a new pvp map…lets not have any more of those either, learning takes too long and is too hard on my brain.
Thats what it sounds like. Its already this way, runes are different in spvp, rules are different in wvw, food items dont exist in spvp nor do racial abilities etc etc. No matter what you do in a game you have to take a few minutes to readjust and learn something new. So to suggest having to take those couple minutes to read the differences seems abnoxiously lazy in a game that already forces you to learn with every bit of content.
We’re starting to split PvE/WvW in the upcoming patch.
But we want them to be things that keep consistency across the game types as much as possible.
Splitting between PvP and PvE is understandable, but this news made me wince. I would have liked to see the dust settle before breaking WvW off into its own piece. It may be necessary, seeing as how we haven’t seen what changes are being considered, but I am apprehensive about this decision. I have always been a big fan of seeing my PvE build play out in WvW.
Nothing good will come of this, only nerfs.
Some very much needed.

We would really like to bring back the play that orbs provided to WvW. That being said the initial version of orbs was like Swiss cheese.
What you mean hard?
No! Full of holes!
We really want to bring back the orbs in some form or another, but it is a complicated thing and so there is no timeline, nor are there specifics as to what form they would take when they return. We have top people working on it! But I can’t give you anything more than that, as there is nothing more to give.

Excellent news
A couple things:
- For PvE/PvP/WvW, we know that those are 3 different playstyles, we don’t just lump PvE and WvW together.
Considering WvW and PVE use the same skill values, yes you do.

Agreed. We need to figure out how we want to handle this, however, so I can’t say when we’ll do something about it or what the nature of the solution will be.
That’s not working on it. That’s stating that there is a problem and at some point in the future there will be a solution- the famous ‘soon’ that could be next week or ten years from now.
It’s very similar to the North Korean situation and America’s answer to it- and that has been going on now for how many years?
The only worthwhile solution from a player point of view is for the bags to not drop, but instead for the drops to be available to you- whether that is in your inventory or in your email or at a new NPC called ‘bags collection’ that can hold up to 1000 bags unopened for you to collect and open at your leisure.
Actually the bags collector NPC would probably be the easiest solution, cleans up the mess, solves all the problems, and should be relatively simple to code in – in fact, the code would be easier than the current code which needs to work out where you are and drop bags at your location as now it would only have to drop bags at one location.
By golly, I think the rotter hath stumbled upon the solution milord!
The mistake is not map rotation.. the mistake is adding PvE content like vista, SP’s POI’s and JP’s to WvW.. If that was not added this would not be an issue..

Interestingly enough we just were discussing this with Habib, master of all things WvW and I think we will do this soon, if it is as easy to do as we hope. It will just make things a little more interesting.
You have your infinite stealth I have my confusion
You have that, decoy + veil + mess invisibility.

I have enough capitalism in my everyday life.
Probably each release will feature a set of sab skins but the grand finale or subsequent seasons will have all of them available.
One-time skins are good. Having a reward for playing during a special place and time is good. Having compelling reasons to play during one-time events is good. Having compelling reasons to buy limited edition pets in the gem store is good for Anet, and increases the likelyhood of special and varied, themed content.
Want a skin? Run SAB 9 times, you have 20 more days to do it. Can’t be bothered to run it? Too busy playing some other game? That is your choice, and you can enjoy paying a reseller later if you want the skin.
I’m glad i don’t see 10,000 people running around with a greatsaw everytime i log in, and am glad i did what it took to get one when they were reasonably priced. I like the SAB skins alot, so i’m running it 6 times a day with my 6 toons, and getting 2 extra of each skin for later.
In response to a couple of random comments i saw on the way in here… the Karka event was unpopular because the skins were bland* and the server lag was unplayable, not because of the limited time. The festival Hat merchant in GW1 duplicated your HATS, not every skin in the game. In closing…
“Wasn’t there… didn’t do that… got the t-shirt at walmart on sale 5 years later”
…just doesn’t quite sound impressive, fun, or memorable.
*i’m sure someone worked hard on those skins, and they are nice and all… but if a skin doesn’t have a glow and/or animation, it isn’t going to be desirable for most players. Next time, make the tiki mask have glowing eyes or boom out “YOU NEW DUM-DUM? YOU GIVE ME GUM-GUM!”when i swap to it, because it isnt replacing my Ghastly Grinning Shield until it can :-)

Personally, I really like one-time skins. They are just cosmetic and it’s a good way to show prestige for vets of the game in a few years.
I definitely agree with this. Early adopters should get some sort of bonus, and stat-less skins are perfect. No one is freaking out because they can’t get Halloween skins, same will happen with these, except these are much more common. Having limited series’ within the game gives players more opportunity for unique looks. And that’s kind of a big thing in this game where most rewards are visual.

It’s also a great way to alienate new players. It doesn’t affect me personally. I have 4 skins via Baubles and have been lucky with an additional 4 skins via chests (opened about 100 chests I think).
I’m just thinking about little Johnny Gamer who picks up GW2 this summer, sees someone running around with the Super Greatsword and says “Oh wow, I really want that! How do I get it?”
“Sorry, Johnny, it was a one-time event. You’re out of luck.”
Not the greatest experience for a new player.
I disagree. In the new players mind it may demonstrate that the game has cool, one time only events with neat visual rewards. This, for me at least with GW1, made me more likely to try the events.
Hey guys! We’ve definitely gotten feedback on which weapons need cooler skins. We’re working hard on getting those super-awesome skins that you’re describing and waiting for. We’ve already started releasing less-prominent-weapon skins in a few of our recent releases.
Just please don’t make yet another one require charged lodestones pretty please. :P
