For a game which has its entire end-game progression based around weapon and armor skins, it amazes me on how inflexible dressing up is.
We keep getting barraged with new skin after new skin, but guess what? Many of us are stuck using 1-2 sets because using the new skin either forces us to override our old skins, or buy an entirely new set of equipment.
What if one of the skins I’m using is discontinued? If I transmuted it that skin would be lost forever so I guess the only real option is to get an entirely new piece of equipment. The price of an exotic piece of equipment isn’t bad, but what if you have a rune or sigil which costs over 5 gold? Even worse, what if you need a second ascended item, which we will have armor and weapon versions of soon enough.
Then we have storage space. What if I want 2-3 looks for every equipment stat I have? Suddenly I have multiple storage tabs filled up with skins alone, and that’s only talking about a single character!
We could really use a more flexible system for armor and weapon skins, similar to that used in SPvP.
Anyone in Tyria care anymore about dragons, undead, destroyers, and the uncountable of dangerous creatures menacing the peace?
I think this game have too much “festivals, Parties” contents. Lest have more Mass destroying, Catastrophe, Collateral damage and destruction contents or change the dragon Logo to a Balloon and a cake icon to suit you game.
“Anyone on earth care anymore about famine, wars and the uncountable of dangerous diseases? I think this world has too much “fun” and “apathy”. Let’s have more mass protests, anarchy, revolutions!"

I probably shouldn’t be complaining about the handfuls of achievement points the Living Story provides me now that we’re getting rewarded (handsomely) for them, but I’ve want to discuss something that’s bugging me. I feel these LS achievement points awarded lately are becoming too inflated.
For example, completing the Paper Dragon achievement (destroying 150 dragon pinatas) is worth 16 points. That’s 16 points for an achievement that requires no skill beyond the ability to move your character and press the F button.
Now contrast that to the Legendary Collector achievement. Obtaining a Legendary weapon is a monumental undertaking. I’ll wager the vast majority of players don’t have one. Yet even if you’ve painstakingly earned three Legendaries you’re only going to be rewarded with 15 achievement points (the Legendary itself is obviously a reward, but that’s neither here nor there).
So according to the achievement point payout earning three Legendary weapons is worth one fewer achievement point than pressing F in Lion’s Arch 150 times. That just seems off. The points being rewarded for the easy-but-temporary achievements from the LS don’t seem to reflect the skill involved it takes to earn them (with some exceptions).
Am I alone in this? Are you guys okay with the inflated achievement points we’ve been showered with of late? Or do you feel that the new achievements need to be reigned in or the older, more difficult achievements need to be boosted to match?
However you feel on the subject, I ask that all discussion be kept civil and constructive. Thanks.
The problem is ANet suffers from a lack of genre specificity. This game pulls skins from every point on the style spectrum. As a result, there’s a lot of different styles to choose from, but each of those individual styles are generic or have minimal variety. They went for quantity over quality.
Don’t forget buttcapes. They went in for that also.
Makes you wonder if the artists get a bonus if they design buttcapes or floor length skirts, open in the front.
Is it me or were the gw1 sets just far superior? C’mon Anet, at this point I really wouldn’t criticise if you decided to release gw2 versions of your gw classics. You seemed to have a decent armour design team then.
There are a lot of terrible, TERRIBLE armor designs in this game. The worst of them, IMO, are the ones from the black lion trader. The only set that is even remotely acceptable is the original medium armor you could buy for gems. But the light(clown) armor and the heavy armor? Holy crap. And of course the new steampunk armor that could have been awesome but instead looks terribad…
I eventually decided they did it on purpose. They want everyone to run a handful of armor sets, so they make the rest as terrible as they can
At least there’s plenty of good heavy armor models.
Look at how awesome female light armor is. Then look at how bad male light armor is. This is a cosmetic-driven game where I, as a male spellcaster, can’t find any motivation to search for and earn light armor skins.
Down with trenchcoats! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhh. Why does it always have to be trenchcoats. Give my ranger, thief and engineer a proper skimpy top for crying out loud.
Those weapons are part of the new champion loot drops which include a bunch of new skins like the one in the picture. Also the rapier.
The Sovereign set is completely different, and available from the vendors inside the Crown Pavilion.
You good sir just made my day, no, you’ve just made my week.
And to answer another question: Pristine Fractal Relics are not part of the wallet.
Why not?
Sooo, I’m guessing the currencies at the bottom of your inventory will not show anymore, but you’ll see the collective amount from your wallet. And whenever you go to a vendor, you’ll see the amount straight from your wallet, and you don’t have to ‘withdraw’ to access it.
Does that mean whenever you’re awarded tokens they’ll go straight to your wallet, and you don’t have to sent to your wallet, as the current token/badge right click option suggests.
Yes. After the wallet is in place, the tokens are no longer physical objects, they are handled the same way that gold, karma and laurels are handled. So like you said, it makes it a lot easier to use them at the vendors as you no longer have to go to your bank to withdraw them.
And to answer another question: Pristine Fractal Relics are not part of the wallet.
I have over 200k karma on a character…does that mean i can now use the 200k karma with my other characters? :O
Correct. All currencies in the wallet will be account bound.
BOOYOW!
Beautiful. Martin, any word on how this new interface will be implemented? will it be an extension of the current inventory window or something similar to a vault?

Many thanks for this feature….
Definitely. One of the best features to come out in a while.
Please give us a keyring…
The currency wallet will not have the 250 stack limit. Currencies in the wallet will behave in the same manner that gold and karma do currently.

You forgot Scott McGough! How rude! :P
I wanted to, but the title would have been too long
My feelings aren’t hurt. But maybe for the next interview post title, go with last names only? “McG” only has three letters, after all. :-)
Anyone who has been watching the matches will have noticed that the vast majority of players are asura with the odd human. I of course understand that asura are popular for pvp because their small size makes it harder to read their attacks. Problem is that this also makes watching the game less enjoyable because all you see are little asura running around without really seeing their animations well.
.
The current asura players wouldn’t be at any disadvantage having to make a new character since they wouldn’t need to grind for gear or anything but we would all have a better viewing experience.
Probably one person with 6000 bids at 1 copper. And that person is probably you.

Would love a race change kit too.
I think a more likly scenario is this:
You buy a race change pack that takes effect on the login screen (i.e. before you select which character to play). You are only able to use it on characters who have completed the entire personal story. You lose your cultural armor and have to buy a new set.
Hello.
I would like to ask a simple question about race changing.
Would it be possible for ArenaNet to add a check box for our personal story and allow us to change our race?
For example:
You click on the Race Change Kit and you then costumize your character.
After that you get a list of all the personal story missions, for the new race you have chosen, up to the mission you currently are at, and then you just click on the missions you want to.
Orders(aka. the Vigil etc.) wouldn’t have to be a problem, cus they could just make it so you couldn’t change your order.
And cultural armour would just be converted to the cultural armour of the new race you chose
Would this be possible to make or is it too complicated?

Before, every ‘failure’ opening a chest would not provide you with any progress toward the item you wanted.
Now, every ‘failure’ will still reward you with a token. So if you ‘fail’ enough times, you will be rewarded in the end.
You incorrectly assume that everyone who gets one of these chests wants one of those weapon skins. I, for one am more interested in some of the other extremely rare drops from the chests, and would rather have the keys for another try at those items, than a few points toward a weapon skin that I don’t want.
His complaint was quite valid.

*The Black Lion Chest now has a common chance to drop Black Lion Ticket Scraps and a rare chance to drop Black Lion Claim Tickets, which can be redeemed for Aetherblade weapon skins. Players can visit a Black Lion Weapon Specialist to preview Aetherblade weapon skins. Black Lion Chest Keys can be purchased in the Consumable category for 125 gems each or 5 for 450 gems.
Collect ten ticket scraps and turn them in for a whole ticket.
Black Lion Chest Keys are now a rare drop from the Black Lion Chest. Most key drops have been replaced by Black Lion Ticket Scraps. This guarantees progress toward a reward rather than a simple retry.
Tickets and ticket scraps will continue to drop from the Black Lion Chest and can be used for select future weapon sets.*
While I had absolutely zero intention of purchasing these revolting RNG boxes before I now find myself throwing up in my mouth at the sight of them. There’s turning a tidy profit off of whales and stupids, and then there is just mindless greed.
I reserve the right to retract this statement if there has been an undisclosed change to the drop rate of black lion keys (ie they now drop) or ticket scraps are obtainable in other, non RNG, non vomit inducing ways.

I don’t know, but if Cooking uses the same time-gated, account bound ingredients… I doubt I’ll be bothering too much with high level food. I already tend to use the tier of food just below the highest tier because the prices are too exorbitant for a 30 minute buff. :/

… As you can see everyone has their preferences. Hence, there needs to be a variety of designers.
