^seconded.
Its a friggin’ scam, people.
Do you even lift, bro?
Really just stop buying keys…that’s the only way anything will ever change.
For as long as you incredibly intelligent people fall for their marketing shenanigans, you will continue to lose gold/$ – I have pretty much lost any and all respect for this company. Anet/Ncsoft is making Blizzard look like a darling angel in comparison, which is impressive…
You have this great gem store concept, and you reduce it to a money grubbing, sleezy casino that doesn’t have to post the odds of winning – absolutely disgusting.
You are the reason why ANet keeps adding stuff to the Black Lion Casino Chests. Stop spending so much money and you’ll make more of a point than complaining on the forums can.
“Good luck to you, truly, hopefully it is better than mine.”
That’s me moving on, keep on moving yourself. We don’t need poisonous community members like yourself. Some of us like to share information.

Trolls, trolls everywhere.
People are speculating legendary changes tomorrow, just like we expected them in February (and they didn’t show up)

I think it’s amusing to wonder if you ever stop trolling around this forum because I literally see you post on just about every thread with derails.
I imagine most people will be playing the next best thing by the time scavenger hunts see the light of day.
I suggest to don’t wait for it
Will GW2 ever get a monk-style class? Unarmed combat?
I’d love to play a Shaolin monk styled fighter
Freaking hell! Give us unique skins ArenaNet! I dont want to look like the auto attacking heal on crit monkeys that makes a fuzz out of being able to dodge a scripted attack!!

“The goal for this system is to ensure that players always have something to constantly work towards. We want each character to have a unique experience in WvW, so World Ranks and WXP are all character-based values rather than account-based. We believe that in the long run, this will actually help incentivize players to experiment with various different ability builds for each character. It also creates a long term goal for players of multiple characters, as they can strive to rank up multiple characters to help show off their dedication to WvW.”
That’s pretty clear, right from Anet.
I’m not sure what your argument or complaint is, but any rebuttal can be directly pointed at that paragraph.
But the abilities that we’ve seen aren’t going to achieve that. I agree if more active abilities were added that there is an argument for being character based (but I doubt they will do that for balance reasons), although as others have said the rank should always be account based.
Miranda Zero – Ele / Twitch Zero – Mes / Chargrin Soulboom – Engi
Aliera Zero – Guardian / Reaver Zero – Necro
I think they dont want it. Because they dont want PVE players to be forced to play WvW (or they QQ+quit).
Sometimes the design decisions in this game make me scratch my head.
What they should have done is made the base stats on ascended same as exoctic, and then make the infusion slots be a lot more. PVE players would choose agony for the infusion, which would be helpful in PVE and would not give a big bonus in WvW. And then WvW players would have chosen a bigger stat infusion, which would not have helped them compete more in dungeons over the agony.
Or just have ascended not have better stats at all and just have agony only slot. But cats out of the bag now, so they need to equalize the means of acquisition.
So basically we’re getting access to what we already have.
This.
Anet could add ascended/WvW exclusive stuff. It´s not that hard technically and they had more than half a year to do so.
I think they dont want it. Because they dont want PVE players to be forced to play WvW (or they QQ+quit).
It´s a terrible thing.
WvW in Gw 2 ll never be as rewarding as a pure WvW game.
Well at least we have fun……
……Until a pure WvW mmo game is out.

I’m so surprised…
….
No I’m not.
lol, this made my day I gave you a thumbs up.
I expect nothing from this patch, so I know I won’t be disappointed.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
So basically we’re getting access to what we already have.

I fail to understand why they treat PvE players and WvW players differently, and not as equals. Until Ascended gear is available to the WvW community it seems as if you’re treating them as second class players, and you’re catering to PvE which is underwhelming at best.

Hey all! Just wanted to clarify something for you: racial armors will not be available through WvW. We’ve contacted MMORPG.com so they can correct that information.
Thanks, and sorry for the confusion!
This… made me a sad penguin…
I think this is a good place to quickly throw in my two cents:
to quote: “The goal for this system is to ensure that players always have something to constantly work towards.”
Something to constantly work towards? Sounds like the game is really driving progression based gaming. Again, I feel cheated and lied to. In the months leading up to the game’s release I was so excited because there was no item progression, or any progression system once you unlocked all abilities(which you do before level 10), have 70 traits to spend at max level, and get your max level exotic set. My gosh, with everything released since November 15th, this game went from being great to just another mediocre MMO.
Something to constantly work towards. I wanted to give myself goals to work toward, not Arenanet give them to me. Why do I need to have goals given from Arenanet? Laurels? Fractal relics? Commendtions/Merits? WXP points? The amount of currencies in this game is astounding and they are all given to you with the intent that you have something to work toward, structured by Anet. And I am not even mentioning skill points or anything like that.
Bottom line is, this game went from being semi-unique to becoming like everything else out there. I have no desire to play, at all anymore. Like many before me, I used to “defend” this game to people like myself. Go troll/flame me. I havent logged into the game in weeks because its turning out to be a big steaming pile where I feel the need to stat grind, gear grind, where devs honestly believe they did not go back on their original development plans, where posts like this one will be removed and infracted because its considered “complaining” although I am merely expressing my opinion(oh gosh its negative!) and things are rushed out the door before any real thought is given(fractals/fractal leveling system, guild missions(hey what about smaller guilds! Oh yah, we’ll help them out later)).
This was to be my last go around with an MMO and probably will be.
To make this a non-complaining thread in the hopes it wont get removed I will add some constructive criticism:
1. Change ascended stats to equal exotic stats. Just keep the infusion slots to make them useful for fractals.
2. Any word on legendary scavenger hunt? Community is getting restless. My sole purpose, since I had no interest in grinding fractals or running the raids(missions), was to get a legendary.
3. Really sit down and think about the WvW progression system you are so excited for. Make sure it provides no power to the individual, where two equi-geared and equi-skilled players match up, its anyones ball game.
4. Really sit down and think where the design of this game is going. Many thought it was going in the opposite direction than it is.
5. Player housing…I know its not on the radar, but I wish it were!
Also Squad has 30 man limit I believe. A lot of times you’re running groups much bigger than that.
Im sorry to say but on my server nobody uses squad because u cant see where the other commanders are after joining the squad
Well, I run staff, and, honestly, the Bifrost is very feminine. Is anet planning on releasing more legendary weapons, some that look less girly?
Mini games that offering unique skins for excelling at them would be amazing. I wish so bad they would add them in soon. Though I doubt we will see them before an expansion.
A way to unlock transmog items like those in the Hall of Monuments is something that would get me to play a lot more seriously.
For a game about grinding cosmetic items, I haven’t really wanted anything except items gotten by gold, which is by design hard to obtain by grinding.
I want to make it clear to you that I like Guild Wars 2. I like that they’re trying something new and since I got out of my comfort zone (being accommodated to the quest-system and that way of playing) I found new joy in playing Guild Wars 2.
There are several issues that I think should be looked into but none more so than the storytelling and lore.
- The Magister at the Durmand Priory… couldn’t take her seriously to the same extent that I couldn’t take Vanille from Final Fantasy XIII seriously (which is also why I’ve left that game, and the same could very well happen with GW2 if they don’t start taking things more seriously). I mean her attitude to her superior as “Oh, don’t be such a sourpus” and then with going to fetch dwarven relics before the dredge complete it “C’mon. It’s going to be fun!” No, ANet, that doesn’t live up to your reputation.
- Tybalt I know is one of your favorite characters, but getting into the Order of Whispers with “Uh, apples, apples. We only sell apples here, nothing more!” and adding “What part of secret society didn’t you understand?”
- Let me tell you what I think is wrong – That he doesn’t act professional, keeping it cool and not panicking like that.
The Order of Whispers in GW1 were really, really hard core. You wouldn’t find them (certainly not at a fruit stand), no, they’d find you when you were alone and out of sight from the public eye.
I really looked forward to Guild Wars 2. GW1 wasn’t my favorite MMO when I started playing it, but I really got into the lore and found it rich and engaging, and eventually it became a favorite because of its lore.
- When I heard that GW2 came out and when I heard Mike O’Brien talk about it implementing everything that we loved about GW1, well, lets just say I was more than just excited.
- This is also why it felt like getting punched in the face when I couldn’t get into anything in GW2… even worse, I want it to engage me, but it doesn’t on the lore aspect of it.
My friends are leaving because of it, because while it is a beautiful world, it just feels empty without lore and storytelling. I’m the only one still playing regularly. At times they log in, but not for very long.
- This is how huge an issue it is to me.
If it doesn’t change then I can say for sure: I’m gonna leave too.
- I don’t want it to become like this, thus I am now making this thread, taking it up for discussion.
Do you think that Tolkien would have had such huge succes with Lord of the Ring and the universe if he hadn’t been serious about his work? Do you think the movie would have been as huge a succes if they hadn’t taken the story seriously?
I thought that the Living Story would ease the lack of story, because ANet wants to focus on what is happening now, but then suddenly: Rox!
- The look on this charr is… well, a joke. What is it with her eyes?
I’m going to give it a chance, of course… but ANet? You really need to pull yourself together, when it comes to this goofy style you got going. Take your world serious, because I do… to some extent… and it is vaning.

The mini games were just a tactic used to sell the game.
The gate to polymock has always been there.
I am of course talking about the transaction fees from flipping. 15% of a 600+g item is not insignificant. If this happens enough to increase prices as you claim, it should be worth mentioning. I’m not convinced a lack of flipping would lead to lower prices. It would reduce the time it takes for an item to reach equilibrium (a number that is constantly changing btw.) So if a shift up in the equilibrium price happens, the price would remain lower for longer but it would eventually reach where it should be. Higher velocity insures fewer transactions take place away from the equilibrium price.
flipping in game or in real world isnt usually a sign of equilibrium. They really have nothing to do with each other. Sure on one side you have the businessman buying something below value and selling it at value, but on the otherside you have situations where the value of the item is no longer its value in the actual world, but the percieved value as a stock, or commodity, or whatever. At that point flipping represents not the value of the item, but more of a game of hot potato amongst businessmen/gamblers to see who can profit the most before the bottom drops out.
regardless of the whole flipping debate, the real problem is 2 fold
1) the descrepancy between the most wealthy and the average players wealth continues to grow
2) The most effecient way to get almost any item is to buy it on the tp
these two together mean, the people with the most money also have the most effecient means of aquiring items, and also that regular players cannot compete with them in terms of buying power.
This means that for someone not hunting money anything that is desired is out of reach, and if you try to get it outside of the TP , you feel like you are wasting your time.
They did this for one reason
Gem
Store
People were making a lot of money selling the rare dyes. Anything that makes people a ton of money they nerf. Thats how it is in f2p games, sadly.
