I have more trouble staying IN the leylines than getting out of them. I just hold both mouse buttons down and steer to the side when I want out.
It could be my habit of holding both buttons down while gliding even though that has no effect (doesn’t even make Lean Techniques kick in, I have to press W for that) means I’m constantly moving out of the lines and that’s why I have to actively steer along them.
Sure, they’re obstacles sometimes, but that only adds to the fun (for me) of steering through the sky.
I’m not saying the leylines themselves are bad things. They’re great, really. They help you get somewhere fast, and can sometimes even serve as an only way to get somewhere.
My problem is: YOU HAVE NO POWER OVER THEM!
Its really hard to get out of a leyline if you want to leave it earlier. Of course I could just disable my glider, but that summons a ton of new problems.
But in some cases, especially the new map with Rising Flames introduced this problem. The map has so many leyline roads that they become obstacles. I try to get somewhere, but everytime I glide I get caught up in leylines I don’t want to take. And they throw me to places I don’t wanna go. So more than helpful, these leylines can serve as EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS obstacles.
So please, give us some way to control if we want to leyglide or not. Ever since LS3Ch2 I am getting more than not the negative aspects of their existence.
Of course having an activation button would also be weird for people that do want to leyline glide, so how about toggle with the new Action Button?
I think the default is ‘C’ key? make that a toggeable button. When you glide, it appears and like a Signet you can turn it on and off. On of course being ‘get caught up in leylines’ and off means ‘negate the leylines’
Of you have better solutions, please do whatever you think is best BUT LET US GLIDE IN PEACE!!
I think Anet has done an awesome job with Ember Bay’s sunset views.

Looking forward to Halloween. I like the zombie vs human events where you switch to the zombie team if you lose. I would love to hide in a bunch of castles with siege weapons holding out zombie players, then hiding or running away to live until the rescue ships arrive.

That was really fun, and they removed it from Halloween last year for some reason. They should bring it back .
Halloween in the GW games has always been the best for me. It’s the one festival I never miss, and no achievement goes undone.

Loved the very first Halloween GW2 had. Was so much excitement in the air, so much craziness going on. I really hope Anet gives us something to make me feel that way again. I am sure I will play it a ton either way though.
It’s possible this could be our ‘ending’ for the game in the far future, if they don’t make Aurene evil or kill her off. She ends up becoming the last dragon, keeping balance of magic for Tyria, and the Commander is basically made immortal to serve as her Champion forever.

Coming from a gw1 vet here, Halloween and Wintersday have always been my favorite times of the year ingame. It was always cool seeing the city updates, Mad King Thorn, and the spooky theme in general. Especially when the Mad King game included lots of death.
I am also hoping it gets a story update! It would be awesome to see the Lunatic Courts storyline come back into play again. Since the whole thing with the seals has been on hold for awhile now.
Heck the two events are practically community tradition by now.
I’m also still waiting for Reapers Rumble to make a return Anet.

I like how there’s a post that says the new hearts is the best next thing to sliced bread, and there’s a post below that says its the worst next thing since the building of the german wall.

It’s good to try new concepts and the new hearts aren’t bad but as a completionist it kills me each day I see the hearts I previously completed become unfinished again. I hope not to see this in future episodes. I would even buy the option (with in-game currency) to keep the hearts finished and the vendors unlocked, even if that loses me some kind of farming possibility or whatever. They’re not the sort of content I’m going to repeat anyway. I’d rather be finishing collections or achievements.
Hope to not see something just because of a visual (the empty heart ) ?
So instead of removal of repeatable hearts you should suggest for a-net to implement some kind of double bar hearts. Maybe let the hearth full after you complete it ( showing you already did it ) but the bar under it empty so you can track your daily hearts. They shouldnt remove this concept just because of some people OCD.
its not out of place at all. When Orr rose, many ships including canthan trade routes got thrown off-course. One of them happened to be a circus. When you look at the attentees closely, you’ll see they look very canthan.
Maybe we’ll help them off the island and in return, they’ll help us get to Cantha?

Thats not a simple personal goal. Its an MMO, you are meant to work together in the field. Getting to 80, crafting an exotic weapon, finding Lions Arch, thats simple goals. Taking on champion group event mobs is not supposed to be that. Its a group even for a reason.
With your argument, I could say that the Dragons Stand meta should be soloable. Its a simple goal to me. I dont want to play PvE, I only play WvW. Why isnt Dragons Stand soloable in 5 minutes?
And yet virtually every Hero Point in the vanilla game has been a solo challenge and designed to be beaten alone..
Hero Points are personal goals that benefit you and only you.. not group goals that benefit everyone..
By your logic it’s perfectly acceptable to make story instances as difficult and challenging as dungeons then right?
cause it’s a MMO after all…
Gw2 was always designed to be a tradition breaking MMO focusing heavily on not hindering players who prefer or have little option but to play alone..

Free can’t save it? That’s good … it didn’t need saving so free is just fine. Funny to complain about a business model that has worked for 4 years. Maybe come back in 8.
The current GW2 business model is probably my all time favorite for an MMO.

I do agree. I am a casual player and often like to play solo for 60 min tops.
After many months I finally managed to unlock the “elite” class on 2 of my characters, but am sick and tired of the same challenges and running blobs in WvW to unlock them for all my classes.
These “elite” classes are an essential part of the game and a must for pvp….It’s just rediculous that we need to farm the hero points over and over again.
Personally I think this should be an account wide achievement which should only be done once to unlock all elite classes…like materies!

I am so sick and tired of waiting to do certain Hero Points because pretty much everyone who has HoT has done them and has no interest in doing anything anymore besides farming the HoT maps meta events..
I’ve long been of the mind that Hero points should always be soloable anyway but I understand the desire to involve more group play when HoT was launched and it was fine back then..
But that’s not the case anymore.. now these Hero points are nothing but an annoyance for both new and older players who are taking alts through the HoT maps..
GW2 is often praised as a game where there is no waiting around for groups to complete content.. but content like these group based Hero Points make that statement untrue..
Sometimes I’m waiting hours or even days to find other people wanting to complete certain Hero Points.. frankly it’s ridiculous..
Please make these Hero Points far easier for people to complete solo.. it really would be a big help to the game for everyone taking alts through HoT.. and new players alike..
Hero Points have no reason to be group based anymore and all they really serve as is a hindrance to players wanting to get their map completion over and done with asap so they can start playing the actual map content with everyone else.

There’s now six maps in Heart of Thorns.
If you’re enjoying your original set of maps, you can stick with that and not shell out the extra money. The only time Heart of Thorns will be severely discounted is right before the launch of the next expansion, so if you bought it then you’d promptly wind up right back where you started, missing out on the newest content that people are playing because you don’t want to pay the price for it.
Using gated content to enter a new map isnt a sensible idea.
Taimis game is a pretty challenging story that many people with have trouble with and you have to do it to get to the new zone.
Would have made more sense to make the storyline harder at the end so people who cant manage Taimis game can still explore the new zone.
I got thru it , but sure as hell didnt like it and wont be doing it again on any of my other chars.
Games are supposed to be fun , not frustrating exercises of dieing over and over.
Yes, it is the first time I actually had all my armor broken by the end of the instance. I did not even hesitate on buying the portal scroll at the end.
[Suggestion] 30day Total Makeover Contract or Permanant Total Makeover Contract. I would pay monthly or a one time fee for this, as I enjoy supporting the game but also feel like there’s an easier way to express the changes I want to make to my character, which happens a lot because I change my mind a lot about her appearance and I bet others do with their characters too!
In another game I used to play, I paid $20 for the option to change the total look of my character any time I wanted within the 30 days and I loved it! Is this something others would enjoy?

I only like the dark skin o fit (Twillight) but the shiny gem is so fantastic!!!
Why cant there be a button where u can select between Twillight and sunrise skin (with gem) and the day night cycle.
