… and then it would just look like you don’t have HoT and they would just yell about that
and if it just hides everything then they would just yell about the fact that it is hidden
You are just wasting your time with that type of people. The simplest solution has always been “don’t play with those type of people”
I find it odd that in Core Tyria maps anyone with a Mastery rank does not get their number scaled down like everyone 80 and below do. I wonder why the exception.
They do, it’s just covered up by the mastery level. You can check for yourself in the hero menu.
Anyone that judges by mastery level isn’t worth the space they occupy in the game.
While I agree, at least giving people the option to keep some details about their character private would be cool. I mean, GW2 doesn’t have the ‘examine’ feature that other games have that let you scrutinize another player’s gear. Personally if it were up to me I’d do away with the visibility altogether, since it doesn’t really serve a purpose, but obviously people would yell about it. I would just like the ability to keep it to myself. Let me play like the dirty casual I am without other people being informed that I am in fact a dirty casual.
Anyone that judges by mastery level isn’t worth the space they occupy in the game.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
Oh kitten. I was about to waste huge summ of gems…
Gonna wait and stockpile some pimping necro skins now
Oh kitten. I was about to waste huge summ of gems…
You still can.
Just buy tons more!
I originally posted this on reddit but of course it needs to be here. Although I don’t know if this is the right forum.
So I know I am on the cusp of your recent patch. However I want to address this in advance. In general from a multitude of sources, I see people becoming hyped about Halloween in Guild Wars 2. (I started as soon as the last one ended.) Indeed this is a huge part of some of us, and we generally look forward to it beyond measure. For the past month or so I have been seeing posts about the music, the jumping puzzle, the labyrinth and of course the King of Madness himself. I really really want to stress how important Halloween is for a lot of us and hope that you take that into heavy consideration!
I just wanted to let the Devs know how much we love Halloween, we would love new story-line. Personally I would love to see a female villain in all this to! (I am indeed totally byist as a necromancer and a female.)
However regardless of that, whatever you do please don’t remove the Labyrinth, my Necro happens to have an on again off again romance going with the Skeletal Horror(called Steven in my guild), hes always jumping out and surprising her….. with death
What more could a girl ask for?
Love, Aggie
I could only support having 1 or 2 WP max in each zone being “account bound” so that you don’t have to walk to the zone in order to start exploring. But certainly not unlocking all WPs on all of your characters once you complete a mastery track.
This alone would be a huge boon for a large chunk of the population. It could be the one nearest to a dungeon or world boss (dependent on the map) and then one at one of the entrances to the zone.
Just passing by from a 3 month break of GW2. And with this topic I just want to say thanks to the ANet team for all the great work..providing the stuff we all wanted throughout the years. Love the new content and the direction the game is taking. Kudos to you guys. It’s good to be back! Cheerz to the best game there is. See you ingame!
P.S.
To all the naysayers, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the team is listening to us and they DO provide… since day 1! Patience my fellow tyrians…it’s a virtue
I just want to hide the shoulders and gloves of some of my current outfits.
Chat / Social: Option to allow whispers only from friends and guildmates. Or maybe ‘appear offline’ to everybody who is not friend / guildmate. Whichever works best with your code architecture. This feature would cut down on so many spam and abuse issues.
I don’t understand why they keep ignoring this problem. Lots of people hate the shoulder armor on outfits and won’t buy outfits because of it. ArenaNet is throwing money away.
It seems to be a running bit of stupidity in more games than just this one.
http://www.threepanelsoul.com/comic/fantasy-armor
And yet, it still happens. Please, ANet, take a stand and stop it. Or at least let us turn them off. Yes, I know it will make Outfits a bit more complex to make, but will it really be that much harder?
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
We’ve been asking for this since forever and still no change… But yeah, I agree (again).

The outsized shoulders are a reason not to buy or not to use. If they had a way to toggle off the shoulders I could use them on more chars.
/agree
Especially the new one has way to large shoulders which i dont want to see.
I would buy a number of the costumes if I could only hide the hideous shoulder portions.
/signed
I agree! There are certain outfits I like but the shoulders get in the way. Although I love the phoenix motif of the Imperial Outfit, the decorative part on it really likes to clip through my character’s hair and heads at times, which is distracting. Also, some races/genders’ shoulders on some outfits look awful compared to others.

I want Lord Faren’s Maguuma Jungle outfit for my female charr.
I want it for everyone.
All my toons would be rocking that loinclothGuild Wars 1 understood and respected people’s need for loin cloths, they even had cool looking dyable tattoos to go with
Yes, in GW1, one of the many reasons why Necromancer was my favorite profession.. Scar Armor
I also love LOVE the elite scar armor <3

If you can still write this, then clearly your hand and body are not yet tangled enough! Return to map and get more tangled!
As an example of the badness, I was trying to get to Ogre Camp to get the waypoint. I ended up in the waterway (not intentionally), and seeing a pool under the camp I figured I could just swim there. After swimming for 15 min, I got to a big pool under the camp. Loking for a way to the platform, I saw that it looked like I needed to jump along a series of crystals to the exit. Did that for another 5-10min. Then got the end and looked up to disver that I was in kitten with some tree branches leading up. Realizing that to even try to go up that would involve trying to walked along branches and make pixel precision jumps all the way up, something notorious for the “moves you so quickly to the side when you encounter a non-visible stop that you instantly fall off” issue, I left the map in disgust, having spent OVER HALF AN HOUR GETTING 0 LOOT TO GET TRAPPED IN A DEAD END. Not only is there a giant room that on the map screams “something is hear”, but the layout of the room continues to make you believe that something is there after you arrive for a significant period of time. That is just one example of the poor design that went into the map. A dead end should be obvious when you get there, not indicate by it’s design that if you just do X you will reach something that turns out to be another dead end.
Hate to tell you this, but there is something there. Thats the jumping puzzle in Tangled Depths – you get an achievement if you dance in the final room.
Tangled Depths is a challenge to learn. Even I had to take my time to learn my way around, and I usually memorize maps the moment I step on them, but once you understand the map it is much easier to get around and nicer layed out than any other map in this game. It is hands down my favourite map in the game.
Basically the map consists of the four major lanes (ogre, nuhoch, rata novus, scar) underground that connect to the ley line confluence in the south of the map. Above ground, there is a camp corresponding to each of the lanes, with a waypoint, a wallow that leads right down to the lane, and a path to alternately take you to the lane without the wallow.
Once you have got that basic map layout down and know your way around, everything else is close by one of the camps and/or lanes. Only a few points are really so much out of your way that you have to take a huge detour to get there.
If exploring the map on your own feels too much for you, I’m sure there are people around happy to lead you through the map and help you find your way. Just the other day, somebody in our guild chat asked about TD, and we ended up with a 6-man squad spending several hours exploring and enjoying the map, with a mix of players new to the map and veterans still stumbling about in places but having tons of fun
.
They were thinking what a great map to explore. It is.

It’s your own mind-map that is important, the mini map is basically more or less useless in the beginning.
Tangled Depths is a true explorers map; Just get out there (with a friend) and wander and soon enough you’ll learn your way around. It’s a nice map to duo in, and is nice to have such a place.
I think Tangled Depths, more than any other map in the game, rewards effort.
That’s how I feel about it. I love the HoT maps, TD especially. The exploration challenge on this map was impressive.

It gets very navigatable once you explore it a bit more and learn how interconnected everything is. The mini map even starts to make more sense.
Why was something silly yet could lead to interesting game play added to a game. You really need to ask this question don’t you.
As far as I could tell, the Circus people are castaways . . .
That reminds me, the original name for the skipper in Gilligan’s Island was ‘Jonas Grumby’. Check Here – wiki
I think our Captain Grumby was no coincidence.
SPOILER: Why was this even added?

When I mentioned that there was a circus in the new area to my kid their immediate response was: “Is that connected to Caudecus?” I wouldn’t actually be surprised if the ‘good’ minister or his henchmen had a hand in it.
There’s a weird and mysterious circus outside Caudecus’ Manor…and a weirder and more mysterious circus shipwrecked on Ember Island. Coincidence?
That aside, it doesn’t seem any stranger to me to see a shipwrecked circus there than seeing a resort on Southsun Isles. A lot of players don’t set foot there because of how hostile the environment is and yet there we have a nice beach with a bar for apres-swim kittentails umbrella drinks.
