There is a nice house in Divinity’s Reach that has no NPC’s inside. I think of it as mine. Also, one of the NPC girls in the tavern is my imaginary girlfriend who I am cheating on with that tramp on the 2nd floor. There’s an old man who keeps telling me to get out of his house in another building. I pretend he’s my grandfather and I let him stay in my old place, but he’s too senile to understand. Every day I pretend to water the plants in front of my pretend house. That’s why they always look so green.
This was amazing, thanks. Haven’t laughed that hard in a while.
On topic: /yes to player housing!
Why is a house in an MMO fun? Do you get XP from vacuuming? Find random coins under the couch cushions? Gain materials from doing yard work?
I honestly don’t see the attraction.
Not everyone wants to find exp and stuff every step in Tyria. There are players who enjoy building houses for creativity and roleplay. It’s a kind of “fun” too. Also, player housing is always OPTIONAL in MMOs. You are NOT forced to do it. Just like I don’t see the “attraction” of fractals, that doesn’t mean others can’t enjoy it.
Exactly this. Sometimes it’s nice and/or relaxing to do something in a game that doesn’t reward anything and doesn’t require skill. Some people like to sit in player housing decorating it for a long time, even if no one else will see it. Its one of those things you either get or you don’t get.

I really want player housing it’s the only reason why I still play one of my old MMOs.
As far as I know Anet have never said they have any intention of adding player housing.
Which doesn’t mean it won’t ever happen (I don’t remember them talking about planning to add gliding to the game either), but it does mean you shouldn’t assume they’re working on it, or even considering working on it, regardless of how many people have asked.
Actually, some of the Devs did speak about Player Housing before launch, and stated it would not come at launch, but probably with Guild Halls.
(Decided to look it up and provide the link:) http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/18447-guild-info-discussion-thread/page__st__180#entry887047

Where is your house located at approximately? Do you lock the door? Do you have nice things?

Since HOT released I have secretly been hoping that Player Houses would come with the next expansion. And why not? After all we could say that the guild hall decorations and customization may have indeed been a testing ground for Anet with regards to the player housing part.
Also they wowed us in HOT with Gliding and the Guild Halls/decorations part. So again I say why not? They will have to do something pretty cool to wow us again like they did the first time around. So I am still hoping for it!
I think the question for getting player housing started about 3 years ago…
I was just wondering if we are any closer in getting player housing?
Don’t get me wrong, the guild stuff is pretty nice looking ,however, I’m not going to invest time, mats, and gold/gems into some thing that isn’t mine. That simple.
That’s … an interesting concept. I don’t think I’ve seen it suggested before. Design the outfits to work as outfits for everyone, but let characters of the appropriate weight class split them up as armor (presumably including both versions in one purchase). I like it.
Though I think maybe they haven’t designed in parts hidden by other parts, eg the Sentinel Armor likely doesn’t have molded shoulders on the chest part that would show if the shoulder piece were removed. So retrofitting this idea for existing outfits might be more than they can spend the resources on — but future outfits being a 2-in-1 like you describe would be really nice.
I want all existing outfits to also unlock armor skins of the appropriate weight.
You don’t even have to give out transmute charges with them, just unlock their various parts as skins.
They’re all built on the existing light/med/heavy armor rigs anyway, and their very existence throws the idea of “recognizable class silhouettes” out the window.
This would in no way impact outfit sales, and would in stead make them more attractive purchases for all players.
I fully agree with this. There are more than a few outfits out there I haven’t bought because I can’t just use the parts that I like. If this were an option – be sure I’d buy a few more outfits just to use the good bits in them with my armor!
Outfits are much easier to produce than armor is. From what the devs say it is fairly time consuming to make new armor. They have to design it so that you can mix and match each new piece with other armor sets, and they have to do this with each playable race in three different weights. Outfits do not have the clipping issues, only come in one weight, and so they only have to worry about making them appealing for the different races.
I want all existing outfits to also unlock armor skins of the appropriate weight.

" A charr trying to get a tattoo is a great mental image."
I’ll leave the obvious joke about shaving a cat alone, but one would have to shave a Charr to tat them LOL
But yeah, I like that idea.

While the minions appropriately radiate an aura of creepy undead-ness, I would also enjoy the option to change their appearance. I really liked the minions in GW1, but I found the ones in GW2 to be less appealing for my tastes (and that is part of the reason why I rarely use them on my necros).
Please don’t put the skins on the gem store.
If this ever becomes a thing, 100% guaranteed that it will be sold in the Gemstore.
I’m all for this….I get to summon a black blob? yay…how’s that for creativity. Necro’s should summon undead – zombies and skeletal knights, etc, not black blobs and skeletal scorpions.
Come on, man.
Still waiting on Grenths outfit and weapons since lyssas, balthazars and dwaynas came out.
I have to say that I read it as “Flesh Armor Ideas”at first. I imagined an Asura in a meat coat… It was weird.
We need a bag for bags.
An inventory bags where other bags goes. Like we have the trash, gear and crafting ones.
Then we would have a bag for bags with bags.
Not even kidding, this would be great.
Out of curiosity, how do the necromancer minions look in the Chinese version of GW2?
Going by all I know about Asian culture and society, I guess they look like half mecha kids with cat ears and big boobs.
As I like playing reaper the most out of all my characters I sometimes like using minions but they are so ugly. They are disgusting to look at. This isn’t just my sentiment, this is expressed by almost every necro I’ve talked to that uses minions.
So if there could be skins for the minions so they don’t look so disgusting like little devils or something. It won’t change anything within the game or give an advantage cuz minions are minions.
And if you do decide to implement a different look to minions please don’t put the skins on the gem store.

That which is dead may eternally lie, but with great aeons even death may die.
I agree, our minions seem pathetic compared to these one.
I appreciate ANet’s attempt to include more new, in-game armor content with the release of HoT, but – unfortunately – I’ve been a little less than blown away
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I think it might be fun to post some ideas of armors we’d love to see released in game!
I, for one, would love to see some of the following:
- Medium Human Male armor that doesn’t include a trenchcoat – so far the only one I’m aware of is the Glorious skin, I’d like to see more
- Heavy Female armor that makes use of shorter skirts, and not the ankle-length stuff or the far too-prevalent bulky pants we currently have – something more along the lines of Aion (also under the ncsoft umbrella) for a more feminine touch… see the picture below
- Tattoo/rune armor for light/medium professions, similar to the Scar Pattern Necro armor from GW1, or the Labrynthine Monk armor from GW1 (https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Necromancer_Elite_Scar_Pattern_armor_f.jpg, https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Monk_Labyrinthine_armor_m.jpg)
Any other ideas for armor you guys would love to wear and see?
Apostle, Tribal, Stalwart, and Heavy Scale sets. Holographic dragon wings, shattered or not. Aviator sunglasses. Bunny ears. Fused weapons. Not end of list!

Light armor consisting of a loin cloth, a fur cravat (and a fur bra for the ladies), dirt for shoes, an ostentatious signet ring (I’m rich you know), a twig caught in the hair, and idk a bird on the shoulder or a used band-aid or something.
Medium armor is literally the light armor with a greatcoat with the sleeves torn off and some tasteful tattered ends slapped over it.
Heavy armor is a hodge-podged conglomeration of dino parts, leaves, and wreckage that might actually count as armor.
A lot of LS1 was map wide and zerg content. How would you make the Fall of LA, the Marionette or the map wide invasions instanced content and have it anything like the original. Even 10 man groups which seem to be the top number allowed for instances couldn’t do those events and have it like the real thing. Even small things wouldn’t do well. An instance where you repaired signposts? One where you encountered some of those sonar things and destroyed them? Those would be boring as instances yet they also were part of the story of season 1. It would take a lot of dev time for instances people would mostly do once and never again. I’d prefer they work on new stuff rather than old story from years back.
A lot of LW1 was open world stuff. I don’t think that is possible now. I could be wrong but I think this is why it was stated in the past why LW1 can’t be added as replayable content. Also why LW2 was mostly instanced stuff because people complained they could not replay LW1.

I suppose a new spec revolving around summoning would be even better. Take it one step further by summoning Lovecraftian monsters.
i’d love for Flesh Golem to look like the GW1 Flesh Golem
it was so much cooler than the current one.I would like to add Jagged Horror. It was so awesome when Shambling Horror died and a skeleton version that bleeds with every attack ressed from its corpse.
Also, the vanilla Bone Horror was great, limping everywhere and attacking with it’s enhanced right hand since his left was deformed.
…The memories.
I’d do many dark/disturbing things to get the old Bone Horrors in gw2.
