Remember, remember, 15th of November
To buy all the candy needed id say that is between 900 and 1000 G or roughly £42 worth of Gems.
Either road you go down its a hell of a lot of grind in 12 days assuming you have no candy corn, little gold and no money to spend for something that appears may do very little.
If it flew around you as it it were a companion / pet toy type thingy, that would be cool to save up for but sliding along the floor as you walk around is incredibly kittene for such a massive asking price.
I guess it a case of, if you have gold to burn, cool go stabilize that economy.
So far I’ve managed to get 33 Candy Corn Cobs, both from grinding the labyrinth and candy corn bought off the trading post. I’m not sure I can get the remaining amount of cobs needed in time.
The price for this mini is beyond insanity.

“MO saves Halloween! Thank you for listening to the players. Anet cares for their players! That’s very generous of you Mo!”
They increased the DR this year before removing it. Why would they do that? They should know their players by now. It took them a huge sh*tstorm on reddit and the forum to do something about it.
And no, he did not save Halloween. They did not listen to the players. There are no new Halloween events this year. There is no story at all this year.
Anet has to stop taking an expansion as an excuse for the lack of new content.
Last time it was HoT. This time it’s the next expansion. You’re putting us on hold year after year abandoning everything else. That won’t work anymore.
Awesome, I was put off from lab farming initially due to DR and having to switch toons but now I think I’ll definitely be chillin’ in there more often (on my very guilty and lazy loot stick wielding Charr – hooray for guardians!)
It never really bothered me, but great to see swift comms and action on the issue. With such widespread feedback about certain aspects of halloween this yeae, there was a concern it wasnt being taken seriously.
Im enjoying halloween as always, but the grind and the focus on the economy alongside less activities have diminished the festival. It no longer feels like the premier place to game during these two weeks like it was.

I’m surprised at the power creep issue. I genuinely thought this game hadn’t had much power creep, at least not since the 2nd Halloween. It’s now possible to get a full set of ascended equipment and of course traits work differently and we’ve got elite specs, but other than that there’s not been much obvious change.
(The first Halloween was quite different because it was only 2 months after the game came out and many players (myself included) weren’t even level 80, and many of the ones who were didn’t have full exotics. Ascended didn’t exist at the time.)
And I can’t put it down to players knowing how to play more effectively, because we weren’t even bothering to use any special tactics that have come up in previous years, like stacking in the corner to fight the Lich or reflecting his attacks, and simply seeing more people with tanky builds instead of glass canons wouldn’t explain it.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Hi all,
You’ve probably noticed that the champions in the labyrinth haven’t felt as challenging this year as they did in previous years. The only actual change to them was a bug fix to the lich to keep him from summoning unlimited minions at high event scaling. But they all felt easier because they hadn’t kept up with the power growth of the player base. We gave them all quick buffs today.
Additionally, with this map being as profitable as it is, a lot of players have started triggering diminishing rewards. That’s just not cool. So we disabled diminishing rewards on this map.
Mo
My goal for this year, besides conquering the Clocktower and doing ridiculous numbers of Labyrinth runs, is acquiring that darling kitty, Mini Zuzu, Cat of Darkness. I love that little critter!
How would you justify doing a “ridiculous numbers of Labyrinth runs” without proper rewards due to diminishing returns?
Each year of Halloween loses more and more content from the original bring back the Halloween of 2012 pls
When the announcement said that all of our favorite activities would return, I thought that meant we’d be able to play Reaper’s Rumble and Lunatic Inquisition again. I miss being able to do things that the game already has…
It’s been in the game for a very long time now. It works with many types of tickets. I remember back when they did this for the fused tickets in the early living world episodes. It certainly predates the LA rebuild by a good year, probably more.
It would help a ton if the emote range were a bit less. Perhaps a lot less. A dedicated channel is an issue because then it’s what, map wide? RPers don’t want mingled RP from further than their characters can interact any more than you do.
In the past ANet did reduce the emote range to a much more reasonable radius (say, the width of a large inn), but in some patch or other that broke to make it carry for miles again.
Yeah, I think this is the root of the problem. And I say this as an RPer.
The only thing I would like to suggest is the ability to block/report emotes.
Signed,
Another RPer.

I beg you, make an RP channel, just for rp, that rp players can use, and spam to their hearts content,
“Spam”?
Using /say chat is not spam. Roleplayers have just as much right to use the /say channel for friendly, in-character chat as those players who like to use it for out of character chat. If it bothers you that much, just use a different channel and make new chat tabs that don’t have /say or /emotes ticked.
RP is NOT spam.
I looked at google for a definition of spam, I found this, quote, “irrelevant or unsolicited messages” – and that is exactly what most of that rp is to me, so I do define a lot of it as spam (particularly when it is repeated over and over again, for example, when someone is grinding on the lap of another).
You say “friendly, in-character chat”, I’m not talking about that, I’m talking about the spamming, the swearing, the abuse and the erp.
Everyone has a right to use the /me command and that is fine, what is not fine is spamming, and abuse.
Except it’s not unsolicited because roleplayers are talking amongst each other. Otherwise by your definition unsolicited talk is anyone who is not talking to you specifically. Let’s have only you and your friends who talk to you have their own chat channel instead, that’d save a lot of developer’s time.
Oh wait, that already exists, doesn’kitten It’s called ‘party’ and ‘guild’ chat. There you go.
Again, please do not smear roleplayers. They contribute a lot to this great game. Some of them a lot more than most non-roleplayers. They buy the game just like any other player. They spend money on gems for outfits like any other player. And most of them spend a lot more time in the game than most non-roleplayers.
I agree with you that the ERP should be private though. But if you’re going to want to put a stop to public ERP by roleplayers, then equally a stop should be put to non-roleplayers who shout and swear ‘lel top kek’ and make sick jokes in /say and /map chat. Which can already be dealt with via the function of in-game reporting.
I’m from Piken Square – virtually no roleplayer I have ever seen has partaken in public ERP in the four years I’ve RP’d there. I can’t say if the same is true for Tarnished Coast/NA roleplayers though. But the EU RPers are usually a friendly bunch that know to take indecent ERP to private channels (usually Salma )

An RP channel is open to abuse by non rpers though surely?
The issue the OP is asking about is also one on my mind as well. Last Halloween wasn’t the only time a recurring festival had what many saw to be a major bug but are told it’s too late or too dangerous to fix it mid festival and it’ll be addressed for the next festival. We simply want ANet to follow through rather than the feeling some of us get that a statement like that was issued just to placate the masses with the issue promptly forgotten.
How many bugs remain in existing content only for ANet to sound surprised if there’s a concerted effort to inform them. In the last AMA they seemed surprised to hear that there are bugs in the last raid wing. It only takes someone to watch a streamed Raid to see the frustration players are having. And it just gets to a point where reporting doesn’t seem to go anywhere. As a software developer I can understand the difficulty in reproducing a bug in something as dynamic as a Raid but to declare Raids are bug free is simply sticking their head in the sand.
RIP City of Heroes
@OP, dont like it? ignore it, its a skrit trap…
Naw, they’re carnies. It’s a different kind of rip off than a skritt vendor trap.
Just be glad it doesn’t involve a pay-for-glitch minigame to earn them.

I think alot of people missed the point the OP-posed. The issue isn’t how nice/ugly the set is. It’s ludicrously priced, drop a 0 then sure, that’s reasonable, if you want a comparison consider t3 cultural items, they are probably the most premium armor/weapons available for purchase in the game and they don’t even hit half-way the cost of the carnival ones.
This patch has been a big step backwards as far as monetisation goes. 1k gold jester weapon set, new scribe decos that cost 9500 fractal relics, ascended armor/weapons in the fractal lobby more expensive than the actual craft price, fractal tonic costing 1500 pristines instead of being an achievement reward for completing all fractals lvl 1-100.
There has been alot of strange choices with regards to costing. Whether it gives you an achievement or not, whether you think they are ugly or not, the price is too high comparatively.
It’s not unreasonably priced — it’s about the same price as BL skins sets on the TP, on average (that’s before the karma discount).
- Total costs: 1700 gold; Average: 106 g
- With karma discount: total = 1360g; avg = 85
- For comparison, the Zodiac set has an average TP cost of ~84 gold
- 10 sets currently cost less than that (on average, per weapon); 14 sets are more than 110g on average
These are exotics, whereas BL skins are …just skins and T3 cultural weapons are rares (and sell for karma, not gold).
The problem here of course with this comparison is that the TP skins value is driven by supply and demand and will change accordingly due to that. The prices of these wont change ever unless anet decides to change them.
Having said that I still hope that they drop in this map as was said before the release of the map about some kind of wep drops being only acquired this way.
Having said that tho I think the prices are fine.
I think the biggest problem here is that they chose to make it a gold based weapon set, given the quantity of existing weapon sets based on gold including all the black lion ones. There were better options for the implementation of this set and pure gold seems like a waste.
They could have been made a drop set, or awarded like the other items on the map for a combination of karma and logs. (Lets not use the gold sink excuse as that’s a tired and inaccurate one). Which would have added more to the map in terms of rewards, instead they can be lobbed with the black lion sets.
heck an alternative would have been to allow 1 purchase a day for completing all 5 of the hearts each day.
It could have been a reward system instead its just another gold grind.
11x level 80’s 80+ Titles 2600+ skins , still a long way to go.
I’m not sure why you’re asking for such an unusual and irregular body type. I think they’ve done a fairly good job in offering a wide variety of female body types already.
As a female with such an “irregular body type”, I would love to see a body type more in line with my own. It’s what I live with, what I’m comfortable with. Would love to also see a slider for bosom size, for downsizing purposes in my case. I have an athletic type body, I’m very happy with it, and it feels a little odd to me for that body type to be so underrepresented in this game and others.
… Can Norn males please remember Leg Day too, please?
Wish they would have just given us sliders. Character creation is woefully limited in this game.
Someone please! GO to this event and stand by the restroom. Everytime a Dev tries to go in stop them and ask if they would like to exit to Dragon Stand.
And that is positively evil. But a little clever, too.

“top grossing” isn’t very useful
- ANet had its lowest quarter — doesn’t matter how it compares to other games; it would still be bad news.
- Revenue from the gem shop is up, so it’s likely that GW2 is doing ‘well’ in terms of income. The problem is it’s not doing well compared to expenses or expectations.
I don’t believe the sky is falling and I am sure that it takes more than one quarter of bad news to be worried about a franchise. All the same, the financial news hasn’t been good.
Congratulations? The only reason there was a surge is because of the Living Story being released + the HoT discount. I’d say you’re just proving the point of the naysayers. If GW2 needs new content in order to keep a decent amount of revenue, that supports the naysayer’s point.

I strongly suspect the dancing Account/Soul Binding issue was not merely a problem of items getting soulbound, but merely a symptom of a much wider character database corruption, necessitating the emergency shutdown and rollback of the servers.
As far as compensation goes… an additional day of playtime has been added to your account subscription. Enjoy.
Not hating OP but will disagree here. I have played multiple games in the past that were subscription based that required full server stops during updates that resulted in extended down times. And then after that there might be additional outages over the next few days as additional issues were uncovered.
Compared to that, and that this isn’t subscription based, and the fact that normally there aren’t even shutdowns while updates are applied and I admit, I thought they did a good job. Here is what I thought worked based on appearances from the forum side:
- Forum posts appeared indicating what could be a serious issue
- Potentially internal resources might have seen the same issue or responded to posting, some posters posting code snipets they thought odd
- ANet acknowledged potential issue
- Issue confirmed and possible solutions reviewed and communicated
- Server brought down to limit further loss
- Communication cycle started on forum (thank you), twitter, facebook, not sure reddit
- Rollback deemed required
- Data restored with limited loss
- Impacts of restore shared via forums pre-empting some questions that might rise
- System restored, and patch that was expected that day applied with corrected code
Was there some time lost in gaming, yes. Did some people lose some progress, yes but limited. To me that was a better call then now taking weeks/months to try and correct peoples accounts that were impacted. I am pretty much full ascended as well but there are a lot of people that aren’t which would not have been able to play.
In regards to removing the concept of Soulbound, I think that also would have been a much bigger rework then people expect even if its only a flag on a item. In a down situation you don’t want to try second guess a game concepts versus ID and correct the code change that caused the bug.
Again, if this was an ongoing issue or a sub-based game, might be a different story, but neither are the case.
2 cents.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Downtime yesterday: “Hey, time to watch that stuff on the DVR I meant to get to!”
The router the cable company installed constantly failing this morning so disconnecting me.
One guess which thing I hated more?
And this is why there should be item recovery systems in place.
I sure as hell hope you guys reimburse Gaile.
