I think why you see so many duplicate threads is because the searching, navigation, and overall organization of the forums is… not optimal.

99% of the time, I have no idea where to put a post, and when that happens I try to use search…. and that just never goes well.

It’s really rather ingenious, and what is more enjoyable than my own character is how some of the mobs look in the world.

Someone else suggested they ought to add it to the box-o-fun, which is a neat idea.

Where’s the button to turn this childish prank off. The humor doesn’t even last through one event.

I’ve had to not play, its really annoying and does not appeal to my sense of humor, ie I have one thats progressed beyond nursery school levels of sophistry.

It’s April Fool’s Day… Here, take my hand, let me help you off of that high horse….

Also, check your use of the word sophistry, I don’t think it means what you think it means.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.

It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

Why is there still no dueling?

in PvP

No dueling in PVE zones. No thanks. Never.

You want to duel? Go to PvP arenas and duel your heart out. That is what that area is for.

If you don’t like the way dueling works in PvP arenas, then request changes to that part of the game. Don’t bring that crap to PVE.

You do realise that Duels dont affect Pve right? Tho, duelling was a part of waiting for long queues (Raids and Dungeons) in past mmo’s and training even when someone would teach you some moves when they know more than you the class you’re playing (even for pve bosses fight), your hate against duelling jsut delay your pve experience in a sense of boredon.

Ppl asking for the denial of such features that would benefit all kinds of players and not only for those who are found of pvp is just going backwards in time.

When you ask for devs (please no this, and no that) know this, you are denying a part of the game that would bring something for you, in a case or another when you least could expect.

Say no to content (even pvp when you dont like) = enjoying your empty world. (just see as the current state of the game is).

just a tip.

I know very well what I am saying “no” to. That’s why I’m saying “no”.

So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the heroes from GW1 would be stronger than the heroes in GW2.

Perhaps in GW1 having duel professions was indeed the norm. And perhaps having 200+ skills was also the norm. Skills like Empathy, Eviscerate and Spiteful Spirit were clear indicators on how strong GW1 heroes use to be. We didn’t think much about all of that at the time because everyone was that strong.

Actually, it is pretty blatantly stated by the ghost of a NPC in the Eye of the North that the GW2 PC is far more advanced than the GW1 PC.

Why didn't they remove warp costs too?

I suspect the reason why armor repairs were removed and waypoint travel left in is because of the following:

New players are much more prone to dying since they’re still learning the mechanics, while veteran players can go for weeks (possibly months if they don’t WvW) without a single death. Furthermore, veteran players are more likely to have amassed a small stockpile of Repair Canisters from AP chests and BLC’s, and thus just wait until their first broken armor piece before using a canister. I myself have not repaired my armor for coin in well over 4 months now.

In contrast, waypoints are used much more frequently, and veteran players who map hop for dungeons, world boss farming etc. are much more likely to be able to absorb the costs without any problems.

As such, armor repairs is probably a much less successful gold sink than waypoints, and it hit newer players a lot harder. It therefore made more sense to remove armor repair costs as a way to encourage players to be more daring in dungeons/WvW.

Negative consequences do not generate an incentive for people to improve their play. Further, your suggestion would not punish the players who were downed or defeated, it would punish the the players reviving them. What that would encourage is ignoring the downed. Maybe you think that that would be a great idea, but I do not.

Changing the loot will not affect my desire to join the QD champ train when needed.

QD champ train has nothing to do with loot.

I join the QD champ train for

1) Karma

2) Dailies (ease of use / socialize with known players there)

3) Monthlies

.
.
PS: I also do dungeons (Storymode and Explorables), Fractals, dragonite encounters (all zones) and WvW. As do my guildmates. They also use the QD champ train, because it’s tied to the dailies.

BG: 52 alts, 29 lvl 80’s. They all look good, so I am done with the game: Oct 2014

The problem with new content, and new land to explore is that we’d grind it out in a week, figure out that best stuff to kill, and then go back to complaining about how bored we are, and why isn’t anet expanding the game already. We don’t use up 80% of the map as it is, why should they open up more of it, just for us to ignore it after we’re done with it.

That’s not really the fault of the players though, it’s because

a) you need gold for almost everything you might want in the game, and

b) “playing the game normally, out in the world” doesn’t get you enough gold to make it worthwhile compared to things like TP flipping, champ farming or chain dungoneering.

That’s the problem. I personally spend 90% of my game time out in the world, doing map completion on any of my numerous alts. And I’m pretty poor. With this change, my income rate is gonna decrease even more, if hopefully not by a lot. I really don’t see the point.

I love it…. people complain when the changes are bad. People complain when the changes are good because they aren’t as good as you had hoped. Really people. If you are just looking for a way to complain go do it somewhere else.

Anet makes a lot of mistakes, I won’t be one to deny that. But when they do something nice (even if it is more geared towards newer players who die more) how about you just say thanks and move on. By complaining about everything you devalue the importance that they place on forum goers advice. If we complain about everything, then they won’t listen when we are complaining about something that actually is a big deal.

I hope they are prepearing for a new loot system t encourage players to play the dungeons/bosses with the motivation that amazing stuff can drop instead of, gold focused mechanics.

The problem is that gold is by FAR the most valuable thing in game. EVERYTHING you could possibly want, you can get with gold. Which in itself wouldn’t be so bad, the bigger problem is: for most things you might want, the ONLY way to get them is by farming gold.

That’s the problem with a reward system that depends almost entirely on RNG. If you get lucky and get a rare RNG drop, you can make a killing on the TP. If you don’t, you will have to grind for weeks and months to be able to buy what you want off the TP. It’s a lottery based system which doesn’t make for enjoyable or rewarding gameplay, sadly.

The nice part of the game though, is that you get Gold for everything. sPVP, WvW, PvE, crafting (if you’re clever with it). There’s little reason for you to grind the same thing over and over again, when you can just play the entirety of the game and make Gold doing it.

You are playing the game I would like to have. You get gold for everything, yes. But for the most part, it’s abysmal low and not worth the effort.

I play the game to have fun, not for a job. If you guys really are wanting some kind of extravagant return, I recommend doing something in real life that will get you it because a video game is not supposed to satisfy every little thing in your life.

Lol. Getting rewards is the very reason for MMO’s to exist. Get gear to be better. That’s all about it. You get no bonus if you get some friends in to complete events, you don’t get a bonus for helping all the npc’s. All you get is gold. And all you can do with gold is buying gear to “impress” other players. If you want to play for fun, you can also buy a WII. But that’s not what I want.

If those are your sole reasons, then it sounds like you have some inadequacies that you need to address before you can get better.
