Don’t miss it at all, would HATE adding trinity to the game (hour long queues waiting for a tank or healer, no thank you!)
Plus combat is much more interesting without it. It is a bit harder since you don’t have a tank sitting there holding aggro while you “do your rotation” or a healer healing you if you don’t get out of the fire, but I find it much more fun.
Can’t say I do, sorry.
I hate trinity, thanks Anet for not putting this unfair feature in game that always make certain classes welcome in groups wile others (usually assassins) are not welcomed and cant find pt entire day for a dungeon
Honestly, I kind of wish it was entirely nuked beyond all repair.
I’ve never been that big of a fan of it, prefer the race cities, that are completely empty 100% of the time because LA exists.
I was hoping that the dragon the Scarlet was working to unleash was Primordous, and he was under LA, and the whole place got submerged in lava and destroyers or something. But no dice.
Not to mention it’s just so boring compared to the other cities.
You should take anime and movie industries too, those may also take players from GW2. Since some in this thread are going to the extent of saying that MMOs should compete with shooters and single-player console-focused games, then we may do that as well.
Yesterday people compare korean grind fests to quality western MMOs, not realizing that some flash players have +100 millions players in asia and today this. Some people are ignorant to the point, they want to complain in any way possible.

GW2 and Wildstar will not be allowed by NCsoft to directly compete and in theory destroy each other. That would mean a weaker bottom line. They are targeted at different crowds they are set-up with different players in mind.
ESO is no real competition, people will try it for a month then after they experience how truly bad it is they will go back to their MMO’s of choice.
Most of the games you listed are single player, people will get them play a bit get bored and come back. And ESO wouldn’t call it a mortal enemy. Got few beta invites, the game is bad, actually really bad. I doubt i would be getting it even if it was B2P like GW2, yet they want monthly fee for it and gem store on top of it. It will sink faster than SWTOR.
sigh
When will this teen “fashion” trend end? I thought post-Twilight movies but it hasn’t passed yet.
RIP City of Heroes
You know they have a whole playable race that comes with free cat tails?
I am all for an in game library of books. Maybe even a home instance library collection we could fill out.
Maybe scraps to compile into books could be found in different zones of the world (depending on the book focus), to encourage players to go back to them?

Dear Anet,
I love the clothing in GW2. I’d like more. A lot more. I’m an rper with 16 characters (don’t even give me that look, I’ve seen people’s sigs say they have 40+) and plans to make more the second we get new playable races. That said, I’d like more clothes in game, I’d like more clothes in the gem store, I’d like them thrown out the windows of DR’s castle so I can frolic through the piles singing “An Ode to Laundry Day”.
Except there’s this wee problem….
It’s REALLY hard to keep so many different clothing sets organized!
I’ve seen a couple suggestions for a closet of sorts, often something along the lines of the pvp locker. After grabbing yet ANOTHER skin set for one of my alts I decided that maybe I should just go ahead and design a thing. So I designed a thing.
See the attached images.
This concept relies on the idea that transmutation stones and crystals get converted to “currency” so that they appear account-wide.
There are three panels going from left to right.
Panel 1 (Item Transmutation): Your typical transmutation panel. Grab an item from your inventory and a skin from the right and drop them into the appropriate boxes, then click “accept”. This should function exactly the way it does now, just within the Hero window and not in a separate one. If you wish to simply meld two items currently in your inventory just pull them both up and additional windows for sigils, etc should appear if there are any applicable. Click on whatever you want to as you do now and then click accept. The reason to have it as a part of the hero window is so that you have easy access to the skins tabs (see panel 2).
Panel 2 (Unlocked Rewards, Gemstore Skins, Unlocked Skins): I love the skins that have been showing up in the gem store, but I keep going back to this problem of have a trillion characters. So here’s what I thought: you buy your gem store skin, double click the package, and the whole thing gets sent into this section of the hero window. You can double click any skin item once and use it on any character. The next time you go to click on a skin and apply it to an item, a dialogue box appears to ask if you want to spend either a transmutation crystal or stone, depending on what you want to apply it to. If you are out of the stones or crystals, the game automatically pops open the gem store so you can buy more if you so choose.
The beauty of this is so that if you have a particular stat set and you want to change your armor around for looks you don’t have to worry about losing pieces or keeping 40 different skins in your inventory at any given time. Time to rp something dark? Time to go to a party? Time to smash gravelings in the face? Quick-click to change your clothes and you’re ready to go!
If you look down to the bottom of Panel 2 there is a section I named “Unlocked Skins” and the first example is the Human Light Chest T3. I like the idea of being able to earn skins in game (ex. the wing skins from dragon bash and the different back pieces we’ve gotten from the living story). I think there should be an option to add skins, especially event-exclusive skins, to the closet so we can pull them out later. It makes sense to me if we’ve already gone through the effort to earn the skin in the first place.
If the skin is an in-game normal item, like say the winged chest piece, maybe it makes sense to spend a gem store item to “deposit” it as a permanent skin in your closet so your alts can use it later. Of course certain items are unique to certain races, so these might be grayed out if you are not currently on the correct race to use the item. Obviously it’s important to keep the in-game economy in mind for things like this, but in general it’s a perk I would definitely appreciate. I included a sample for having a ‘hanger’ as a purchasable object in the gem store in the attached image.

Actually I never liked having money stored in my bank, it was inconvenient while leveling a alt if you need to buy something having to find a bank or crafting station to access your bank to fund the alt, the wallet was really a QOL item that makes everything easier, I can’t say it’s ever really caused any problems because I can see all the gold I have, if anything it makes me spend less.
the only things RP players need is a keyboard and imagination.
I will only support this if they also allow marriage between same gender. Just no human/animal/cabbage/alien stuff.
Fun fact: The humans are actually the aliens.
Players are babied and hand held enough.
The problem is bad players are not punished. If someone lays dead at a boss or event for more than 15 secs, they should lose all credit for it.
If they are afk or hiding and not actually damaging the boss, their contribution should go down and get far less rewards.
They don’t need to be handheld anymore, they need to be accountable for lack of caring or effort.
How are they designed to fail if zerged when zerging is the only way to take them down?
Your point does not make any sense. All I have seen from the last few Living Story updates are people stacking on PvE commanders; if anything, the Living Story was better in the beginning and started going downhill with the Queen’s Jubilee.
Events in Gw2 scale. Take the rescue in the last Living story. When a large zerg went to stop miasma release the event scaled and with the scale up the requirements of how many mobs needed to be killed before the timer was up also increased. Add to that the mobs quality also increased with it, instead of regulars an veterans with regular hit points you had elite and champions with tons of hit points and it became nearly impossible to kill enough mobs before the timer went out with the consiquence the event would fail. Added to that because most of the players were with the zerg doing the events not enough people would be around saving villagers. Added to that because the miasma event failed the miasma level increased meaning people had less time to reach the 1200 villagers required for the top reward.
you didnt need 100 players to win a miasma event 3 – 5 people was enough to win easily and quickly before the timer expired.
Same mechanic is employeed with the clockwork invasions.
Marionette was actually constructed to artificially ensure the event cant be zerged by actually locking players in small instances and prevent them from grouping up using force fields.
The current living story event is actually the only one event in this Living world season thats actually not doing anything to dissuade zergs and thats because I suspect it would be hard to come up with a reason story wise that would make sense to disuade people from grouping up. I mean you’re storming the villain what possible reason that makes sense to split up could they come up with? And mind you they still did it to a degree by having champions tied to achievements all over the map, have 3 watchknights that need to be defeated on a timer and the hologram scarlet event tries to split people into sections with line attack that lingers for a while and further tries to split people inside sections through the use of the colour buffs you need to pick up as well as 3 coloured holograms at opposite ends of the room not to mention that the final encounter is an instance. So even though this last LS doesnt punish people for zerging it still tries to get them to seperate using carrots basically.
I dare ArenaNet make a poll for every player to rate the first “season” of Living Story, the anticipation of the next season, and publish the result.
The sample size might be too small to make it a valid poll…
ANet does not really want to know what people think of their LS, they prefer to stay somewhere over the rainbow with unicorns pooping rainbows.
so the sample of “people who experienced living story” is too small to make it valid to analize “opinions of people who experienced living story”?
The sample size of “people who actually fill it out” or “people who don’t just log in to troll the poll”.
Seriously, how many people would come back to their accounts JUST to put down all 1/10s for content they didn’t play in a game they don’t want to come back to otherwise?
They need to end this temporary content train as soon as possible. The hole they dug for themselves is starting to look like an abyss.
The only thing that looks like an abyss is the grave that this thread has been necro’d from.
The Leveling & Open World Compendium
Tell your husband to man the kitten up. If he can’t handle his male character casting a few butterflies then there are other issues at play here that don’t have to do with the game.
Sorry, OP, but I disagree, as well. This is like me asking for GW2 to change the necro effects because locusts with the green and black color combo are “boyish” and it off-puts my fancy pink lady sensibilities™. I mean, my female Asura necro is not only forced to wear boy versions of armor but also must endure the black and demony corpsified color scheme.
I actually really like that there’s no gender difference for the effects of Mesmers and Necros because, as someone upthread said, the “this color/thing is for boys”, “this color/thing is for girls” is being side-eyed, discussed and found inadequate lately in most academic circles. It pleases me greatly that video games are letting that mentality leak in.
They have stated long ago that the living story is divided into 4 groups. They have stated that these groups are a small part of the total with projects being worked on by other teams that have not been released yet. They stated that they did not have a clear idea of how they where going to release said content. They have I am sure decided this by now and it is only a question of when. Since China is going live within a month or two I would guess that is the when.
People became too choosy. They forgot, that other MMO projects have their updates once per six months\year and community of these projects prays that was implemented at least part of what they want.
I want to sincerely thank ANet for the excellent work they are doing for us.

Ok I can get that people didnt like bugs in the last update, but nothing is perfect, but people really need to create 1000 threads about the same thing? Devs are working hard for fixes for sure!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank Anet for the living story. Its great to have an update each two weeks for free. The story was nice, I liked it, and it was fun to polemize with other people and guess how it can continue next week. Especially after wintersday it was kittening exciting
Another thing I love on living story are NPCs, how they interact with each other. For example Heal O tron at vigil keep
And many others. It absolutely livens the whole world. I also love how everything is so monumental. Tower of nightmares, The kite city, The Breachmaker, etc. these things are just kittening epic!
Keep up the great work Anet! Now we will face another elder dragon..honestly I cant wait!
I want to make something very clear and thats that Colin never said this feature build that contains a lot of features would be “expansion sized”. The op must have misread something, perhaps it was from an interview back in january where colin mentioned a lot of expansion content they plan on adding but weren’t quite sure which medium they’d release it through. Content and features are generally two different things. Content(maps/dungeons/races). Features being, well features. Perhaps new utilities, new weapon/class matchups, a living story recap tool?, wardrobe?
