I said during the event that lion’s arch should be a crater after this event is over, i’ll still stand by that.

They’ve said they wanted to have a game that changes over time and the events actually impact the world since before launch, they need to prove they’re willing to do that though.

The Art of Combat: Probably the changes to sigils/runes. And the second sigil for 2handed.
Critical!: Definitely the ferocity changes
A New Way to Explore the Looks of Guild Wars 2: Wardrobe of some kind? Maybe allow us to get infinitely copies of LS/Meta awards (skins/minis)? (really hoping this gets done)
A Colorful Outlook: Probably changes to dyes to be like new Asian version. Maybe weapon/backpiece dyeing? (one can hope)
Looking For Group?: More features to it? (maybe removing the beta text?)
Removing Restrictions: Could be anything. Maybe new weapons for each class? (can’t be all, since they just added more restrictions to stuff, like gift of battle (again))
Account-Bound: Most likely wvw levels/wxp. Maybe changes to ascended stuff to be account instead of soulbound (like how non ascended spinal backpieces were before the one patch)?
A Solid Foundation: Probably the changes in Asian one for the starting stuff?
Facilitating Friendly Play 1/2/3: New guild stuff/missions/options? New grouping options? Ideas on zerg content? Maybe changes to teq/wurm (or adding in districts like Gw1 had?)?

Like the topic states, is there any date for when the rubble will be cleared and LA becomes an actual city again?

No, and hopefully it’ll never quite return. I find the prominence of the racial capitals rather refreshing :P

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

For now the guns lay silent, no more will we hear them roar. For reasons yet unknown, we are tallying up the score. Names on shreds of paper, families torn apart. They know not when it ended, just when it got its start. Out of a clear Tyrian sky, a deadly beam found each, building, wall and spire, heard as far away as Divinitys Reach. I won’t forget the faces, the blood curdling screams, as the city that survived the centuries, was tearing apart at the seams. They came from the air, the land and beneath the sea, to ravage and destroy those like you and me. The air befouled, as the buildings burned, medieval were the pyres, even in the mornings calm, you still can smell the fires.

Now its time to gather those that cannot rise any more, and lay them beneath their beloved soil, they won’t suffer anymore. We’ll miss them each in many different ways, with the coming of each new dawn and ending of each new day.

Answers will be slow in coming, all any of us will know for sure, is the once clear waters of Lions Arch are tainted forever more.

And thanks for this down time to process the story (and perhaps grieve just a bit). It’s been a hectic run. We are human, after all. While it is a virtual game, it also becomes part of our reality.

How is it possible I can live here…this world is truly astonishing…nice way of putting things out of context for random hate and rage btw, very nicely done! When someone says that he was aiming for something, it doesn´t men he is saying “kitten, it´s just like this thing!”. just stop for a second and learn with understanding

PS: I´m sorry to anyone who feels offended by me actually raging over someone raging, but I just couldn´t take it anymore…after these many threads with topics put out of context and with just random rage and “give me this” attitude, I just couldn´t take it anymore. As for those who were insulted and felt like I was talking about them…I don´t appologise. I was talking about you

Hey everyone!

So I love the new hair styles. But we haven’t had new hair colors in a really long time. I’d love to see some new greens, maybe some hot pinks, whatever. It would be really awesome to have another set of new colors to compliment the new styles.

So next time you do an upgrade to customization, please consider new hair colors! (And better colors or dyeable accessories pleaseee)

Thanks for reading. Feel free to also add in any other customization desires, be it pony tails for humans, new Norn body tattoos, etc.

Honestly, I do not see anything bad in that interview. I like the detailed responses and the information provided along with their reasoning for why certain aspects of the game were better fit for each respective location. I think it was a really informative and refreshing interview.

However, one thing I do think needs some clarification to ease my mind is regarding this quote on Account Bound Dyes coming to NA/EU:

The biggest of those must be the change to the dye system. In the NA/EU launch version dyes were character unlocks, whereas in the China version they’re account unlocks. With this new system you only need to collect a dye once and you can use it on any character. This is more convenient, but it means demand for dye will go down, so we’re also reducing supply. Dye unlocks now come only from crafting and from the gem store.

Actually NA/EU players have been asking for dyes to be account unlocks for a long time and we’ll want to make essentially this same change for NA/EU. The differences will be in phrasing. In the NA/EU version players purchase dye packs from the gem store; in China players purchase dye identifiers from the gem store. Either way you purchase something and it gives you random dye, permanently unlocked for all characters on your account.

My concern with this quote is that it seems to be saying that, once implemented in NA/EU, all future dye purchases will be packs that contain random dyes from the gem store. I’m fine with this change and actually welcome it for the most part. However, I do have some more concerns on how it will be implemented:

  • Will all currently unlocked dye colors across all characters on the account become unlocked account wide?
  • If I want a specific dye will I need to buy countless dye packs and unlock random dyes until I get lucky and unlock the one I want? Is our freedom to get the color we want, when we want, gone?
    • What about rarity? Will all dyes have an equal chance to be unlocked?
  • Will the dye packs from the gem store scan our unlocked dyes upon opening the pack to prevent unlocking a dye that is already unlocked on the account so a player is guaranteed to unlock all new colors with each dye pack opened?
  • If the same color is unlocked on multiple characters, will the duplicates automatically convert to and unlock a random color? I don’t think compensation for multiple dye unlocks across multiple characters is something players should necessarily receive, but some may feel they should be compensated for the duplicate dye unlocks.
  • What will happen to all existing dyes listed on the Black Lion Trading Post?
    • Will they be destroyed without compensation to their owners?
    • Kicked off back to their owners…
      • …and become unusable, but with a vendor value? (I see issues of abuse with this)
      • …and can only be used to unlock dyes for the account or destroyed? (I see a run on dyes happening very fast)
      • …and usable only in mystic forge recipes and not for unlocking dye colors on accounts?
        • Converted to be single use dyes for dying weapons?! (I wish)

Well it’s not like hair in reality is a chunk of solid wall. Could just pretend it’s flowing around it.

Yeah .. i also had that thought when i previewed it

And also .. i would never ever rant about clipping if they just give us THAT hairstyle, that is apparently not in the game because of clipping problem

4) Don’t give up, this game WILL surprise you. My girlfriend and I were completing the Hirathi Hinterlands last night and came to the final skill point and point of interest we needed in the North East of the map. We’d done tons of events during the evening but not really seen many people other than ourselves. We get to the last bit and a massive gate is closed and won’t open so we figure it’s something to do with an event that was just starting. Before we know it we’re fighting a Champion Hirathi, then holding off hordes of Centaurs, then we go back into the main bit to see 3 Champion War Beasts and all of a sudden we’ve gone from 5 of us doing the event to 25+. Once we took the beasts down we had to destroy this massive Earth Elemental thing followed by another Champion Centaur.

It took about 30 mins to do all of it and it was really intense at times but I really have never experienced anything like it. It has completely relit my love for this game and I can’t wait to find more events like this.

Sorry to ruin the magic, but that centaur boss is tracked by every boss tracker website (eg. GW2 Stuff), and those people that appeared out of nowhere at the very end were just world boss farmers (since that’s the only part that gets flagged). They just wanted their daily chest…

Does it matter? If there’s people like that around then that means that these events will stay alive. I probably won’t return to Hirathi Hinterlands for a while now that I’ve 100%‘d it, but as long as the ’Event trackers’ keep going there then new people will continue to experience the event like I did rather than missing out on a brilliant part of the game. I don’t give a kitten if people want a chest or not, what does it matter to me if 25 different people are there for different reasons, so long as we kill a boss it makes no difference.

I don’t understand your point.

Well I don’t know how to put it, but usually MMOs are pretty static places, some in the past did something similar, but this is the first time I was fully involved in something that really change an important location. And as silly at it sounds, I do feel now Lion’s Arch is a bit more “Mine” than it was before. Before it was a cool city in a cool game, now it is slightly more personal, I have seen it burning through the eyes of my character, we went around seeking refugees and helping them escape, then we battled in it, then now we can see it lay in ruins after the aftermath .

I know it does sound silly, but it make the place more alive for me, more “Real” and if the scars of the battles will show in a new Lion Arch, or if it remain in ruins, I can really say that the Living Story is very.. alive.

I sadly understand why she did what she did, since i’m the same. I completely understand Scarlet’s motivations and i would probably had done the same if i was in her spot.

Why? because life’s unfair. Not everyone can get everything, not everyone can be happy, not everyone got a free pass to 1st world needs (or in scarlet situation, a free will, something was in her mind)… and people like us totally deserve to get the same as everyone else, so we fight our way in. How? Nobody knows. That’s the truth, it would look easy from outside but it’s a complete different path for every person… and sometimes you are so desperate that you try to break the fabric of reality, habits, rules, promises… just trying to find that “something” that would releas you free.

Scarlet was a brilliant creation, just not the kind that would be appreciated by everyone, since most people will never feel utter despair. I’m sad about the fact that i can’t even describe in english (properly) what i want to say :\

I love how so many people are exaggerating. Trinity does not mean HARD trinity… it can take a range of varieties, the one more tolerating, the other more strict. Light trinities are obviously a LOT better than kittenes, but they’re also better than GW2 combat system that is a DPS-only-ty.

Trinity is just a vague term for what is essentially class specialization. Classes in GW2 are somewhat specialized, otherwise there would be little point in having classes. However, it’s a fairly vague specialization and in most cases has more to do with preferred playing style, effectiveness or a particular function(i.e. group stealth, reflect) than anything else. Classes in GW2 don’t fit together in any meaningful way in a team context.

That the trick the classes do not fit together but the players do. Its a question do you play as a class or do you play as your hero. A class cant truly changes even GW2 classes have some effects that only that class has but they are open enofe to let the class be less important to the player or the hero your playing as. If you need a wall you can changes your skills to make these walls if you need a tank you can changes your skill to be more tankly etc.. Playing as a hero over a class add soo much more meaning to every thing you do in a game. Some ppl will always fall to the “best” build point of views and think that every one else should think the same way but that not how real life works nor should it work that way in a game. But ppl are bullied into it and that just wrong on many levels.

I sort of think you’re missing the point. They have their end game fixed up,. except for people who are insisting what end game is/should be. Plenty of people are playing a lot of content on 80th level characters.

People seem to be laboring under the assumptions that most people like dungeons and raids, but that’s not actually ever been proven.

Anet has been doing stuff in the open world. Some of that stuff stays, but most of that stuff goes.

For example, the new Tequatl and Wurm fights are giant open world event that require some organization. The new path of Twilight Arbor is one of the harder dungeon paths in the game, and better than most of the other dungeons from my perspective.

The new jumping puzzle in Gendarran is pretty hard too.

But the stuff that’s really been happening, for a lot of people, is the living story.

The game has become pretty achievement centric. If you like getting achievements, you’ll probably like it more than if you don’t.

There’s all sorts of ways to farm since you left. Champs now drop champ bags, dungeons give at least 1 g guaranteed (in explorable mode), there are five new Fractals, but somehow, on the living story update days, I end up in overflows for a week.

Someone is playing the game.

18th is supposed to be the official ending with content being introduced to close this chapter and perhaps promote a new.

On the other hand, it is a bit exciting. Not only to see a clear ending but also the information Anet promised to give out with the end of GW2, introducing a game status with more info about the feature patches and also about what is to await after that.

Well, we already have information of what Anet is working on as a whole. Hopefully, this will be more specific info that will answer some questions.

Am I the only one who desperately wants this armor? It is truly a magnificent armor. It’s such a shame for it to be wasted. Countess Anise is wearing a slightly different version of it and I like her ones better, but this one is awesome as well. Why can’t we have it? We can already dress like all members of Destiny’s Edge, so I think it’s not about Anise’s uniqueness. To be honest, I like Anise a lot more than DE despite her small role and would like to wear her clothes, but above of all, I would like to wear something elegant and this armor is an essence of elegance. I just felt that this needs its own support thread, so if anyone of you reading this would also like for this armor to become available to players, don’t ignore it and let everyone know that you want it.
