Notice how the picture was of the Queensdale troll?
Clearly the OP has a specific ‘endgame content’ in mind, and anything to prove otherwise will still show that it has been 1 year 5 months 11 days.
This comes up often, if someone believes that they are not receiving what they want then there has been 0 development in the game. I for one am not like the OP and see how much the developers have put in the game and what else is coming. I also am very happy I have not had to pay a monthly fee nor pay for the content that is being developed and released.
People are already complaining about how anti-climatic it is that 5 players “easily” can take down an Elder Dragon.
How much more of that wouldn’t we get if we could suddenly do it on our own?
But you don’t do it on your own. You do it with a huge army (the pact), a fleet of airships, a huge battleship and destiny’s edge.

The reason for the premature elation over this is because many people cannot read, or, to put it another way, people read only what they want to see.
When others come along, pointing out things they failed to comprehend, is when the disappointment sets in. They think something has been taken away from them when it wasn’t even there in the first place.
For me, I was not impressed when I first read the blog. At best, the wardrobe will free up a few bank slots; at worst it will make playing dress-up while leveling an alt more expensive.
I am currently leveling my 5th and last alt, a sylvari thief, and hit lvl 62 on Monday. I then bought a full set of medium T2 cultural, and used 6 trans stones to get the skins onto lvl 62 masterwork zerker armour. Come 15 April, this will cost 18 trans stones!!
Now I need to finish leveling this alt before 15 April, so I am not pleased …
…I don’t understand how this could cost you 18 stones. it will cost you 6. o.O Ah, you mean the free stones you get from mapping.
Yeah I just don’t see your argument.
Stones, rather than crystals. Transmutation stones will be converted to transmutation charges at a rate of 3:1, so each transmute on a lower level character that currently costs 1 stone, will cost 1 charge, which is the equivalent of 3 stones. So transmuting a whole set of armour will cost the equivalent of 18 stones for a lower level character.
Gathered that.
Since they are so readily available i really don’t understand people’s complaint, tbh. It’s nice that we are getting a conversion at all.
My opinion.
they were available, who knows what they will be now.
also i dont know about (readily) they were given for map completion mostly, the reason people had so many is because they didnt bother using them.
One of the big things they havent said, is how we will obtain charges in the future,
If they make charges a reward for more types of play (not just finite map completion and random dailies) then the system may promote hunting armor and changing gear looks more often.
If they eliminate all most sources but the cash shop or gold to gem, then it will definately decrease changes.
but in either case they wont really be making as much money as they would with an unlock system imo
WTB a downvote button.
I do have a good question. A sensible question, and I really hope you won’t get offended when I ask it. What is the evolutionary advantage of homosexuality, bisexuality, etc? Most things we support in our morals has some kind of advantage, but I have yet to see any conclusive data on this bit. There is the “Homosexual Uncle” argument: “an individual whom provides food and shelter but does not supply excess offspring.” But this feels a bit lacking when you apply it to the natural world, as not all creatures that exhibit homosexuality have instincts that influence them to care for others. And this argument does not apply to bisexuality in the least, as they may still have children. So far, it doesn’t seem very practical.
Not a biologist or anthropologist, but I’m not sure there has to be an evolutionary advantage to every possible human trait or behavior. What is the evolutionary advantage of having red hair, or chin dimples, or having that gene that makes coriander/cilantro taste like soap, or preferring the color blue? Evolution and ‘survival of the fittest’ doesn’t necessarily mean that all characteristics have a concrete or verifiable purpose, as I understand it, it just means that certain traits, and how they interact with their environment, have a greater or lesser odds of surviving to future generations. And this can change over time, as the environment changes.
I’m not sure I’d agree that most of human morality is drawn from natural advantage, either; certain taboos like incest (which have nonetheless frequently been ignored when it comes to royalty and nobility), or rituals surrounding the handling of the dead can definitely have a biological impact. If you take something else though – say, stealing – theft would arguably have an evolutionary advantage, since more food and wealth for me would seem to mean more likelihood of me passing on my genes. Pure social Darwinism would probably advocate quite a lot of things that our society deems immoral, in fact, like eugenics, violence, slavery, and corporate and political corruption.
I think it can be a bit dangerous to try to extrapolate morality or meaning from nature because nature just…is. There’s no real value judgement to it. Regardless of any whys and hows as to LGBTQ people being among us, the point, to me, is that they are. They exist, and they are real people with real lives and thoughts and feelings and talents and foibles. It is cruel and counterproductive to shame, marginalise or punish people for something that causes no measurable, tangible harm (and on the contrary, provides the benefits that come from forming caring bonds and relationships with others.)

Meanwhile i think the forum needs an option to auto-deny all Duell/Open-PvP request since people like to spam us here with their request because they can’t do ingame
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
- I have no interest in fighting world bosses. Should ANet remove them or should I ignore them? That is how I feel about your interest.
- You told me many times that there are other alternatives. I told you many times why that alternative does not work.
- You bought a game with world bosses. Maybe you should ask for a refund.
- There are other alternatives. There are a lot of other games out there.
Or you people are the vocal minority and the rest of the players really wants dueling.
The number of people crying to not add dueling vs. people wanting to duel does not matter.
Correct. What matters is people who want to duel can go to PVP and duel. There’s no need to add another feature when the neccessary framework is already there.
Duel servers exist for me to grief there!
You admit griefing in closed PvP arenas but somehow you would not grief in open world PvE areas. Makes sense.
Who said I would not try to grief there? ANet should design it so I can’t.
You are an excellent example of open world duelling.

Really? I was sure that so many are for dueling accoding to past forums posts.
That would be called tunnel vision
You saw what you wanted.
As a lot of us do not want to be trolled. It’s as simple as that, no trolling. This game has enough ways to grieve players as it is. If you have ant’s in your pants that bad, then go into sPvP. If this game needs anything, it’s less trolling and more community.
You wanted it, you got it
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/introducing-the-wardrobe-system/
This new system is not free – it uses transmutation charges, which IMO is a good balance
Also, weapon skins are account wide now. So you can have as many eternities as you want!
Town Clothes are now outfits, which can be worn as armor.
BIG BIG news: Transmutation Stones (lvl <79) can be converted with a 3-1 ratio. I’d hate to be the people who tossed their excess ones (I have over 500)

Oh my god. I can have bifrost skin on all of my staff users. Oh my god.
And my immobulus.
Oh my god.
I can’t even.
Oh my god.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
Just thought I’d make a thread to say I’m really excited about the Wardrobe! Most people on the forums prefer to whine and rage all the time, unfortunately.
What ANet needs is to see that some of us appreciate their work.
Either way, watch out for the ensuing outrage and threats to quit the game because news that was ‘promised’ was delayed one day.
@Skitz
1. I never really understood this idea of an endgame. You’re basically saying that 90% of the game should just be forgotten about after a certain point of progression when there’s a defined ‘endgame’.
The endgame for me in GW1 is just doing whatever I want, like how I played Skyrim.
2. Not requiring co-ordination really doesn’t mean it’s faceroll. Vindictus required next to zero co-ordination but it’s one of the most challenging games I’ve played, in a fair way (ie no IWTBTG stuff). And there are plenty of co ordination in the game anyways if you want to do it, and sometimes it’s even nessecary.
3. I want to point out your last sentence. ‘who cares?’. Not trying to be rude but if you don’t care, you clearly won’t find any. Also, so what if it’s a MMO? Why dues that mean it can’t have an exploration element to it? Especially it’s a living world to explore as opposed to a console game’s ‘dead’ world.
These guys are going to complain about anything. It’s what drives them. Makes them feel useful. Yea, most of the time they are absolutely wrong, but at least it’s actually a VAST minority of the players who play the game. One week they are complaining that something is too hard, the next week everything is too easy. They complain about only having two weeks to do stuff when 90% of the living story content was available for 4 week periods or more. They say the game lacks diversity in combat, but yet they don’t want their zerker builds touched because that’s all they play across the board. They implore that they need a fat, juicy carrot on a stick in front of them at all times, but yet they can’t ever see said carrot when it’s there.
You will find very little sense in this forum.

I tired it this past weekend.
Frankly it isn’t a bad game, but here is the cold dark truth; It will be another MMO GEAR grind with a monthly fee.
The gameplay was fine, the mobs are cool, the combat was fun, but the idea that I will have to spend weeks-months farming gear to be on par with the kind of people who play hours upon hours each day is unappealing when GW2 is sitting around and has decided to get its house in order.
Beta is Beta, and you shouldn’t judge a game based off of that experience, but there were too many things I just found bland about it. I expected a more revolutionary experience, and really LESS of a spam fest in PvP, but found it much like WvW is in GW2, except with dedicated healers smattered around.
Were it not for the feature patch news, I would have shelved this game for sure, but the feature patch is firing rounds off at all the things that needed changing in this game, and in the end has a good chance of providing much more interesting builds and set choices, without hours of grinding and a monthly fee.
When WS goes free to play, it will be worth picking up and playing casually, but like ESO, it is trying to do something that can’t be done; be Blizzard and convince millions of people they need to give you 15 dollars a month.
GW2 is a superior game to almost every MMO in the western industry atm and Wildstar/ESO are both average ones. People would like WS/ESO for a fresh experience however neither bring anything major to the industry.
The town clothes thing. I want it to be true, should’ve been true since day one.
Can’t say I agree with this. You can play just the meta events and get more in WEEKS of play than that, not even getting lucky drops just breaking down the rares and selling the mats.
You are misguided. You are not supposed to sell all your salvage. You are supposed to collect it to craft with. If Anet is balancing the game with that assumption they are also confused. OP is correct in that the game doesn’t offer enough rewards especially gold. The problem is that they create rarity by horrendous drop rates. Stuff in this game either drops too much or way too little, there seems to be no in-between. If the OP wants just 1 item and they put all there efforts towards that it isn’t unreasonable that they should get it because they are sacrificing everything else. Hardcore players, or “Pro players” as many mistakenly call themselves, will acquire almost everything. These players can’t rationalize the OP’s wish. The situations are very different. The real problem is people are greedy and this is half responsible for destroying the game experience. Anet place in this is not understanding that and setting limits as to how much selfish players can ruin it for others. Anet allows virtually unlimited pricing on the TP, they set unrealistically low merchant values, and they set horrible drop rates. I one day hope Anet wakes up to this and implements the simple solutions I have mentioned.
I could very well be misguided. When Ascended came out I had 50 gold and 2000 gems from how I play the game. I now have 500 in all the crafts, 3 ascended back pieces (1 through tailor), 1 ascended weapon, 2 more lvl 80 characters a couple of gem store purchases and 90 gold in the bank and 2000 gems. I got one lucky drop of a skin worth 100ish gold. I did not buy gems, I have never changed gems to gold. I don’t dungeon run and I don’t do champ trains. But I do have fun and when it is not fun I shut down the game and do other things.
I agree. Also need ambient penguins and penguins corrupted by Jormag.
Only if we get a pogo stick.
OMG, great minds think alike! (We posted at the same time.)
Pogo Stick! Gotta have a Norn-size pogo stick. For drunk Norns and undersized Asuras.
PS: my guildmate wanted to know what kind of mount for undersized drunk Asuras: obviously a bouncy ball with a handle.
(edited by goldenwing.8473)
oh oh and the coconuts with the gallop emote !
YES!
I completely agree! The lack of penguins in this game is disturbing
Pretty please ^^
There are not enough Underwater pets anyway
please let us Rangers tame an awesome Penguin companion in the future
it would be much appreciated ^^
Just to point out.
This is a Dragoon…

I really like the idea of the Living World and I think that Temporary Content is a great feature. It’s one of the best parts of GW2 for me.
I understand that it doesn’t appeal to all kinds of players, and that’s fine too.
Thing is, though… this is GW2. This is what the game is. Living World and the Living Story are major features of the game and probably always will be. If you really hate it that much then you probably need to find a game that suits you better.
If you like GW2 overall, but are disappointed with the kinds of content the Living Story delivered, then you might post a thread about the kinds of content and features you want to see in the next Living Story Season.
As said in another thread – Guild Halls into LA. Open world. None of that instanced stuff all these other games are doing with their housing (except EQNL).
