Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a triggering issue that prevented events from restarting.
  • Fixed a crash with the Looking for Group UI.
  • Fixed a server crash.
  • Fixed a scripting issue that caused escort events to become stuck.
  • Fixed a bug in which achievements were using incorrect numbers for tracking.
  • The asura gate from Fort Trinity in Vigil Keep now correctly allows players to exit the gated area by approaching the door.
  • The permanent Captain’s Airship Pass item has had its rarity increased to rare.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Powerful Potion of Slaying Scarlet’s Armies was causing players to take additional damage from Scarlet’s forces.
  • The inventory window no longer slowly grows when opened and closed repeatedly.
  • Adjusted the timing of some conversations in the refugee camps so that players may view them easier.
  • Fixed an issue in which the Citizens Saved counter would not reset when reentering Lion’s Arch.
  • Adjusted the point at which the miasma will overcome players and send them to adjacent maps.
  • Fixed the Obsidian Sanctum exits so they bring players to the Mists asura gates in Vigil Keep.
  • Changed the internal check for viewing the attack cinematic to be per character instead of per account. This is to help any alternate characters that may end up in the wreckage of Lion’s Arch after the invasion.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented Flute items from being playable after a five-second pause.

Actually I do think it’s super epic. Along with lots of their other updates! And I’m rocked in my boots (whatever that means) enough to be gushing about it to all my friends, so there’s that.

def get a +1 for that

I have seen the word epic used here and there, not as often as it should be though. This update is epic, no game in the history of gaming has ever destroyed their main central city. They are changing all the rules with this game, and to be honest it is about time.

Nobody will know until the weekend most likely.

By which time it is probably too late to start grinding for it.

Really sloppy on Anet’s part imo.

It resets daily, try harder

Come on, man.

Perhaps he has a long week next week with funeral arrangements, or vacation, or has some significant things happening in life which makes these next few days very relevant.

Reset daily? Sure. Which means, once qgain, only people who are able to play 8.3 of the days and only focus on rubble will achieve. Why can’t he have an opinion that that is sloppy?

I personally don’t care. But stop with these attacks man.

You can call it sloppy, I call it fair. There are rewards that not everyone is going to get unless you want to dedicate the time for it.

If are unwilling to put x hours over the next 4 weeks, then you do not deserve the item. It’s as simple as that.

If you want everything easy to get, then what’s the point of playing?

Grats, you are eligible to get a selfless potion for one heirloom! Click on that rubble near Gendarran portal and you’re done! We’re done the content, let’s come back in 2 weeks and repeat the same thing.

Maybe Anet prefers that players find it out themselves?

Besides. Anet afaik never has included extra details on these consumables or potions. Even the Infinite Watchknight doesn’t have a note that locks use for 30m and lasts for only 5m.

I don’t think it’s sloppy. It’s just they have no requirement to.

If you are so much as going to ignore your ‘Anet is sloppy’ remark, I guess you should just delete/edit it to pretend you never wrote it.

It is, after all, what I’m more focused on than your original post.

I’m all for criticizing the game but if you have nothing to back it up then you deserve criticism itself.

I’m disappointed, but I expected to be.

I want to poke around, and take on solo fights. Be the wandering hero that finds the stray person trapped in the rubble and pulls them to safety.

I tried the events normally at first. It’s zergy, and I hate that. Too much stuff going on at once, and trying to track it all gives me a headache fast. (It’s one reason I don’t like to team.) I also felt like I wasn’t really making any difference at all unless I stayed on Rez detail, at which point I wasn’t really getting anything for my efforts.

Taking off on my own, I found that I kept running into groups too tough for me to take out alone. So, no poking around or exploring for me. I might try that again later, but… very disappointed.

It a siege…did you expect all her armies to come in one at a time in order to not overwhelm us? Of course there is allot going on, that is what a siege is. Anything else would have been rediculous. That is why there are zergs, in a real life siege zergs=life while solo=death.

I have to agree with Kal, if you are just running around spamming auto attack its your own fault that you arent having fun, and is in no way Anet’s fault.
Although Kal if you take out the people of the “many” that r disappointed that are just complaining about stupid crap and not real problems, then no there isnt that many that are disappointed. The actual real problems/bugs are not that many or that big.

Sure, that was just my passive aggressive way of saying, “Why did you bother posting this thread, it’s been done before.”

I was roaming around Lions Arch alone save the few times I went to a side event and fought alongside other heroes. I loved the event personally. fighting for my life most of the time, barely hanging on as I tried to save the citizens of Lions Arch while the Scarlet Alliance ravaged Lions Arch. Fantastic update.

sorry i wasn’t talking about server lag. i was talking about playing on highest settings and having 800 people around you fire their spells. it’s just unavoidable when you have giant open world content like this. i have to set my graphics to the lowest to avoid crashing and i hate how everything looks.

Still not following. I always have my graphics all the way up and I’ve never had an issue. If the graphics are crashing your computer, or even just the game that’s probably your computer, nothing else.

If you spent any time checking out the forum before posting then you would know the answer to your question is, “Yes, there any many people who are disappointed.”

So yes, there are.

There are also many people who enjoy the differences between this event and the other events that, while mechanically similar in many fundamental ways, were still entirely different experiences.

Some of us don’t mind the zerg. I like running in a crowd of people who are all intent on accomplishing the same basic goals as me, and who I can be reasonably assured will attempted to back me up as I will attempt to back them up. I also really enjoy who the game scales to make things ridiculous when that happens. I find it exciting to start running against mobs that can potentially oneshot me.

I also don’t find it mindless. There are strategies that even the “zerg” must adhere to if they want to survive. If you’re just running in and auto attacking whatever happens to be in front of you at the time it’s no wonder you’re bored and not enjoying yourself.

Not sure what this lag is that you speak of, I played all night from when the patch hit and never experienced any lag or even saw any complaints of lag in map/guild chat. This patch went as smooth as it could have gone, Anet has really gotten their stuff together finally, really excited about season 2. I have noticed that the people that do have lag it must be coming from your end because there hasnt been any server lag on Anets end.
I do agree though that this should be made into a dungeon and/or fractal, that would be a great addition to an already great update.

Personal Story wrong path?

Is is and isn’t a bug. The issue is, after Forging the Pact, the next story step is determined by the fear of the main player. (The person who started that story instance.) If you had a different fear, but choose to accept progress for Forging the Pact, it will make your next quest step the same as the other player’s to keep you both together.

My goodness – if you find waypont fees expensive enough to make a convoluted rant, then…

Agreed. I get that not everyone makes passable coinage in this game but c’mon now…2, 3 silver at the most?

Maybe there are still folks using the gates to travel but I don’t think I’ve done so since launch. WPs are very reasonable imo.

I have never understood the people who whine and complain about waypoint prices.

That was, afterall, the main selling point for Ellen Kiel, right? A waypoint discount. Did this even happen? Did anyone at all notice? Would anyone at all notice? Of course not, it doesn’t cost enough to matter. Do an event, waypoint cost covered. Wait you waypointed from Orr to Frostgorge? Ok, do two events, still covered.

If you actually play the game at all there is no reason to complain about the cost of anything. And even if they did remove the central gate hub from the game it would not have a realistic effect on the economy.

I don’t think ANet gets enough credit. All I see are people complaining about them. I love what they did, I didn’t like the constant DC’d. I guess that is what I get for having DSL. Other than that I followed the pack and killed some baddies and enjoyed myself immensely.

Thank you guys for such an amazing, beautiful game.

LA being destroyed and having to rescue citizens is not a big enough LS? No reason to follow the zerg, create a group and just go off and save citizens. There are so many citizens that are spread out that the only way to get will be to break off from zerg.

What exactly do you want? An event that can be completed once, and then it’s done? No one else can do it ever again?

You don’t want anything to be repeatable?

Glad you like it. As for me, not impressed.

It seems that Anet has mistaken good quality content and strong story telling with grind.

You are playing the wrong genre if you don’t like grind. Go play an RTS or FPS…

Um, no.

What I’m getting from you is that you want new content every day, every hour, every minute. You don’t want to do any sort of content anymore than once, because that constitutes grind.

I hate to break your fantasy setting, but the real world doesn’t operate like that and you will never get a game that has that type of structure.

Maybe wait a few hundred years and then you came make design your own VR game where you can do what you want to do.

Until then, suck it up or quit MMOs.

Pick your poison
1.) Current overflow system where there is only 200 people on the map but no network lag

2.) Proposed overflow system where there is an unlimited number of people on the map, with intense network lag, making it impossible to accomplish anything.

5 pages of people whining about literally the worst place to use crafting stations (LA).

Save your time and go to Ebonhawke or Rata Sum, you won’t miss LA, even DR is better than LA.

And please stop complaining just for the sake of it, this is why GW2 community is so bad, people crying for every single change they make. Adapt or leave.
