Hey, thanks a bunch for the nice post. It put a rosy glow on my early evening.
I’m glad you’re back in the game, and really appreciate your understanding that we can’t do these things instantaneously, but do try to do them as quickly as possible!
Have a great Tuesday. It is Tuesday over there, right?

Just a quick post, feel free to close the thread straight away…
And on a personal note, thank you Gaile Gray for your tireless moderation and replies in the forums! Knowing someone is actively reading posts is a great piece of mind for the community.
Just 2 cents I felt was worth sharing… Too much negativity on forums, especially (and I guess, understandably) on account issue and trouble shooting ones.
Cheers!
This is why the new forum rules were created. Stay constructive folks. This is an opportunity.
Yep, can’t force your employees to visit, read and post on the forums if you expect them to be simply demoralized by the content there.
PvE:
1: Time gating: rewards, LS achievements, crafting
2: Guild Amenities
3: Precursor attainment
Here’s something else to consider. Being “open for invite” is functionally identical to listing yourself in LFG and then closing the LFG window. A party of four will see you as an individual and have the option to “invite” you by merging.
thank you astral for response they clearly don’t want us to know the number limit on inractions.
Of course not. That would be like asking a traffic cop “How far above the speed limit can I go before you nail me?”
The numbers are internal. The behavior is yours. Choose wisely and you never will feel the need to ask this question.
I appreciate how well an issue I had with a transfer problem was handled so well. Great customer service. Thanks
It’s very nice of you to post this, Malotoro. We appreciate that!
I’m talking about the recipes to make the items. Gift of Souls, Gift of the Moon, and Gift of Spiders.
In game, players are saying to make the recipes it takes 100, not 10.
I am looking at Recipe: Gift of Souls, Recipe: Gift of the Moon, Recipe: Gift of Spiders, Gift of Souls, Gift of the Moon, and Gift of Spiders. Both the items and the crafting/mystic forge recipes themselves. No where does it say it takes 100 instead of 10. Players talking in game are incorrect based on the bad information from the update notes.
Someone makes a typo, we bring it up. A forum mod/dev reads it and thinks ‘this can’t be right…’ and emails the appropriate people to confirm this is a typo. They take a while to email back because busy with other stuff/out of office/forgot to have outlook open, then a day later the reply comes through.
That’s right! In this case, the issue of “players think this is too expensive” was raised to the coordinator of the team that worked on this update. He then raised that issue to me, the point of contact for all rewards. I said “Holy monkey face, that’s not what it was when I reviewed that stuff! Poop! What happened!? We gotta fix that asap!” and started an email thread about how to fix it, who should fix it, when we could get it into a hotfix, if we should kill switch the recipe to prevent anyone from doing it before we fix it, and discussions about pulling data in case we needed to do a refund for any poor souls who might have already done it. Then we asked the designer on that team to get in the fix and start working it through the approval process to hotfix it. It was at that point when the designer said “but it is already at 10 on Dev, not 100”. We verified that was the case in the Live code and I immediately hopped on here to post that it was a simple update notes typo while the community team worked to update the update notes. I think a days turn around is actually pretty good and I am very pleased that it was not a problem in the code, but rather a simple update notes typo.
Everything is a process. We work really hard to listen to our playerbase and be responsive to their needs. Time is always a mitigating factor and even information takes time to move from one place to another.
You account will not be terminated based on what you do in the forums. If end up being permanently banned from the forums, you are only banned from the forums, not the game. You literally do not have to worry about losing the game because of something you did in the forums.
This is absolutely correct. Forum privileges are just that. A privilege which we can revoke if you cannot follow the Forum Code of Conduct. If you need further clarification, please email forums@arena.net.
I’ve been looking into this, and I hope to have something in the next PvP drop that will reduce the downtime after a build.
The change is a non-trivial risk so may not be ready in time.
Only reason I am aware they will rollback (and ONLY once) is if your account get’s hacked.
This is true. I’m sorry, but we cannot offer account restorations (or roll-backs) for anything except compromise/hacking incidents.
This will be fixed soon. I do encourage that you accept that we do actually read most every post here. Making us aware of bugs is a good thing you can continue to do so, but the forums don’t need threads trashing ANet employees and assuming we are not aware of issues that we are aware of.
Game bugs forums guys.
Remember that bugs can’t be fixed instantly and that hotfixes that come out have changes that all teams at our company need to get in as well.
Hello all,
I’ll help clarify. We have been receiving a lot of personal attacks on the forums, in PM, and via the Appeals system. Martin’s post and Regina’s follow up are pretty clear.
You can give all the negative feedback you wish, as long as you’re not name-calling, making threads, or things such as “you need to be fired”.
You are welcome to say “I do not like X because of Y”, or state your opinion about gameplay and mechanics.
It’s pretty simple. We are not tolerating personal attacks on our staff on the forums, in PM, or via the Appeals system.
Just a heads up to anyone else experiencing this, I took the advice of someone in some thread and unticked the “remember password” box and it appears manually typing in your password each time you log in fixes the issue.
I love it when players suggest solutions to problems or share solutions that other have reported as effective. Players helping players = a great thing!
And yes, this suggestion should be helpful to those of you having the issue. I’ll also check around to see if there’s a bug filed on this. But in the meantime, try this suggestion and see if it helps you.
I’m of course no dev or mod or anything, but the way I understand it is just that, criticism is welcome, as long as they don’t end up being disguised attacks, just use common sense (the most uncommon of senses, sadly).
For example (again, the way I understand it), things like “I don’t like the way Anet is handling the game”, “I find this new dungeon path boring because XXXX”, “I think these armor/weapon designs are ugly” are probably ok, but things like (another example), “Anet isn’t competent enough with this game”, “Anet lied to us”, “Fire whoever designed this dungeon/weapon/armor”, “whoever designes this dungeon/weapon/armor clearly has no clue” and things like that will probably (and IMHO with reason) be considered “cleverly disguised” attacks and acted upon.
This is pretty comprehensive. We absolutely allow constructive criticism. We do not allow insults & rude comments directed towards our staff. This has always been the case.
That all being said, we absolutely do not tolerate personal attacks towards our staff on the forums, in PM, nor in the Appeals system. Profanity, name-calling, and the like will quickly lead up to your forum privileges being revoked permanently.

Any special rewards this time? Or can I just skip it (or only do it if it is for a daily)?
A nice adrenaline rush.
You should realized from the past few months of content that anet ignores complaints.
Sorry but… “You should realize that based on previous content” would have been a better response.. And yeah they do but Complaints are often more of a personal outlet as opposed to game changers (with some notable exceptions.) so I complained nonetheless.
Was I playing the game where the Dev’s changed the 8-bit jumping zone content when people complained or did I dream that….?
These forums are full of such massive exaggeration and flat out lies it’s not even entertaining any longer….
IMO, they DO need to adjust the crafting requirements down for the weapons, but other than that all these complaints boil down to, “it’s not the same as last year….whhaaaaa!!!!”
People can’t even make up their minds. On one hand they get kitten ed off when nothing new is introduced, on another they get kitten ed off when old content isn’t brought back in the same form.

The dungeon is gone, and yes story wise it makes sense maybe, but it was a good dungeon.
The dungeon didn’t appear until the mad king burst out of the mad realm, only a couple days before halloween. Which happens to be pretty close to the next scheduled release.
Because people will always complain about everything, no matter what it is.
Last year: OMG the labyrinth is so fun!
This year: OMG the labyrinth is so lame and boring!
Nothing has changed aside from the addition of a few bosses and mob types. Why the shift?
We have a fix for this in the works.
I want to take a moment to give you an update on how we will enforce part of our forum Code of Conduct in the future. This pertains the part regarding personal attacks against staff members.
As we have mentioned in the past, these forums are here to facilitate discussions among yourselves and between you and our developers. We value all constructive feedback, be it positive or not. But we will draw a line when posts include personal attacks on members of the studio (yes, “cleverly” disguised ones as well).
Our goal is to have a healthy forum community and provide a place where people can have constructive and respectful conversations and dialogue with our staff members.
So from this point forward, everybody who personally attacks a member of the studio will get an immediate 2 week forum suspension on the first violation. Any further attack on studio members will result in a permanent termination of your posting rights.
You have been warned.
is there any way i can disable this message?? I know my skill is on recharge, its just i like to spam it with 2 secs remaining so i can cast is asap.
having this message removes the chat log as it goes all the way up due to the message “skill recharging”.
Oh god the suspicion… Devs are just eating this up >.>
Move along. There’s nothing to see here.
We are currently investigating the issue, it appears to be occurring on random servers.
Yes Dulfy. I had to kill the candy corn boss twice to get the achievement. It didn’t register the first time I did it.
Anyone having issues where they are not getting achievements for killing the 3 bosses inside Labyrinth? I killed all 3 so far and only got achievement for one out of the three.
Hey there
This is by design. The mad king tower now has a 15 minute timer and you get a point each time you make it to the top in that 15 minute window.
When it gets to about 1:30 seconds or so left on the clock, it will not start another round, because otherwise there is a chance you would be in the puzzle when it resets and that is no fun ><. It will then announce the winner(s) and start another 15 minute round when the timer hits 0.
Hope this clears things up
