Underwater Combat is cancelled. Pretty much.
I predict Heart of Thorns will have no underwater areas, and Jormag will freeze over all existing waters we can swim in, killing all the poor Quaggan.
Ok So I like the skills thus far for the Revenant. It takes some getting used to playing and the dps varies greatly. There are a few things that I have noticed though. Jalis elite skill is not an emergency assist hit button. It takes to long to cast and to easily intercepted by mobs or other players. If it is supposed to be used in time of defense and only last for 5 seconds then it’s not really worth trying to activate in the heat of battle your just wasting your time.
I’m still looking into a lot of this profession, I find that the lack of speed enhancement trait or skill a bit disappointing at this point. though there seems to be things we do have access to so this may be something you plan for another trait line.
Weapon swap. I would like to see this added. Not to swap with legends but at this point it is needed. I mean playing melee up close can be fun but at points you need to jump back and distance yourself from the fight and maintain an active part in it. Retreating while attacking so you can get back into the fray. At present you can swap between two legends. Those legends swap out your healing, utility skills, and elite skill. your weapon skills remain static. And those two legend skill set does not make up for the change of melee to ranged as the elementalist and engineer skills does.
I don’t know if the legends will get more skills then they have at the moment, I am hoping that they will so we have the options to select skills that differ. I don’t know what other legends or how many are being planed to be posted. But I can say that as it stands the lack of weapon swap has not been made up by the swapping of two legends.
Some say that the weapon swap should be tied to the legends. I find this a little off considering I like to stay at range when healing. And the staff does not allow this for this profession. I found I used the hammer at this point more then the staff and ventari’s tablet It worked rather well and I enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see the other weapon skills that come out.
this is day one’s feed back I’ll try to post more after I have had time to explore the skills in more time.
I would love to do more bosses and stuff with my revenant but am disappointed that I won’t be able to keep any of the loot that I get from them. And this may be a draw back for others also. Something to think about for the next beta perhaps.
Please, for a love of whatever of the GW God’s you choose…get a test server. It is just unacceptable to me personally to see an entire game get unbalanced and the community have to play the waiting game until things are corrected.
This happens, because as bright as the people balancing things are, they simply cannot predict what is going to happen in a mass environment with live players. Can run all the algorithms in the world and that won’t stop a few players from devising a way to totally ruin the game.
Also, I don’t think we should pin this on conditions being too strong. I think everything is too strong.
Not this again….cat ears does not fit GW2.Cat ears fits immersion dead games such as Perfect World games. No pls
Yeah but apparently having black and white feathered wings are perfectly fine along with having Super Saiyan Charrs and rainbow unicorns flying out of longbows.
Pve is very casual friendly. Succeding in dungeons is only the matter of will. You dont need nasa computets to calculate builds. You can ask map chat or check metabattle and do it in 3 minutes.
If there is no challenge there is no point of the game

How do you even get 30 bleeds in AC? Doesn’t your keyboard have a V button?
Gravelings are evil little kittenters. Especially when you get knocked down with everything on CD.
And OP, minority OR majority, you dont speak for them. Claiming to do so is seriously egotistical and false.
And I don’t like crafting, why do I have to craft to get ascended gear?
And I don’t like PvPing, why do I have to do it to get Glorious Armor?
And I don’t like grinding for gold, why do I have to do it to get a Legendary?
And I also don’t like talking to NPCs, why do I have to talk to NPCs to play the story?
And I also don’t like fighting, why do I have to fight to do pretty much anything?
And I don’t like making a character, why do I have to mke a character to play the game?
Hello everyone. Been playing all the day against condition users..and I’ m too a condition user.
You don’ t want to die versus conditions? Quit crying and learn to use countermeasures like :
1) superior rune of melandru
2) -40% condition duration food buff
Please Anet after years It’ a pleasure playing ranger . It has finally arrived where it deserves to stay. Please don’ t listen all the lazy kids who want to deal super phisical damage and in the meantime not wanting to trait for condi removal.
Learn to use condi removals and quit saying conditions are op
Anet we condi players have faith in you. You are a fair company. Phisical damage players ( thieves warriors above all ) had their ingame life too easy. Now please make them all wake up and accept that conditions can have their great spot in this game too

At first I was excited to learn I woud get the core game for free, if I bought the HoT expansion. but then I realized Veteran players were treated so much better then new players.
Veterans are going to know where all the best farming spots are, where all the bag farm spawn locations are, I wont even be able to get a single hit in because they have commander tags and can summon minions to scale up events for them.
Veteran players will have so many more achievement points then I will, they will get so much more free rewards, they even get birthday gifts. I wont get the gifts they get for three years, and by then they will be getting even better gifts.
Wvteran players are already going to have 5 level 80 characters, they can do events with every day, they will have so much game-currency earning potential then I will as a new player. It will take me 3 years to get to the point the veteran players are at today, and by then they will be 6 year veterans!
Veteran players are going to obliterate me in pvp because they know the maps better, the meta builds and strategies, team compositions. In wvw they will have all the social connections to form the best riot squads, the best zergs.
Oh, how I wish this game was fair to new players, but as it stands new players dont have a chance to compete with veterans.
Veterans will look so much cooler then I will. I really like the Aetherized weapon skins, they are so steampunk awesome, but they were around during Scarlet’s invasion when they were offered for a single ticket, now the Aetherized staff skin costs more on the trading post then the Bifrost!!! Such injustice!! I want a free bifrost for being a new player! I want access to all the previously available skins at the same price these most fortunate veteran players had. I want those cool black feather wings that were only on sale for a single day in March. I want bunny ears.
All I want is for new players to be treated with a tiny bit of what anet has treated these veterans with, is that too much to ask?

Themed around the Chill condition.
Mechanic Change – Shroud Knight
- The first change changes Death Shroud skills into melee-focused skills. This Death Shroud benefits from current traits, where applicable.
Weapon – Greatsword
- Slow attacks with big damage modifiers
Utilites – Shouts
- Deals damage
- Effectiveness based on how many opponents are hit

Anything your charr has which says ‘soul bound’ in the description cannot be used by any other character.
Anything which says ‘account bound’ or doesn’t say it’s bound at all can be used by other characters.
But to transfer it to them you need to put it into your account bank. If you just put it into your charr’s inventory (the stuff they carry around with them) it will be deleted when you delete the character.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Not again this thread >_>
Wat r u, casul?
Personally I just click away from whatever it is I have targeted. I also have auto-targeting off, so I can control it more easily.
I’m just gonna leave this here…

We have capes on several maps.
If you mean like the voice wheels/menus such as in L4D, TF2, Battlefield etc., where the character calls out pre-recorded, lore friendly contextualised phrases/words I’d welcome that.
Stack: “To me!”
Ranged: “Keep your distance.”
etc.
I stopped playing gw2 for a week because I hated the new pvp matchmaking system so much. It keeps matching me with premades while always pairing me with 1st time pvpers! It got so frustrating, I just gave up on gw2 altogether! No reason to log in anymore!
So I tried another MMO. But it is worse! GW2 has changed my standard for mmo’s, and made me realize the things that I took for granted:
- Questing is easier with the heart system compared to old-school questing system where you have to backtrack everything.
- No Trinity! You are independent! No more having to search for healers or tankers. And as for me, I’ve always been forced to play a healer because of this, and I hated being a healer. Now I can be anything I want to be!
- Map exploration is really fun, unlike other mmo’s where map is dull and dead. You see a mountain but can’t climb it, in GW2, it is a jumping puzzle! Not to mention, the NPCs are more intelligent compared to other MMOs. They talk, walk, run, fight just like players, and their conversations are always interesting!
- The combat system itself. Can dodge, can move while casting, fast paced!
- Instanced mining/harvesting node/anything that can be “interact”-ed. Nothing more annoying than seeing a node and another player already mined it so you just have to find another one.
- Gain exp/loot/quest credit on enemy tag. Other MMO’s have the first-hit or last-hit reward system in killing mobs. It’s annoying! In GW2, just tag it and you can get rewards.
- Can only bring 10skills at a time. Unlike other mmo’s where the sky is the limit on your skillbar! No thinking required. Just fill that skillbar!
- Ability to range/melee on command. Well except for eles and engies.
And so much more! Thing is, this game is far from perfect but it definitely is WAAAAY better than any MMO out there. So I guess I’m done with playing MMO’s until they fix the PvP matchmaking system. Anet what have you done to me. Haha
You are the useless log of flesh we have to drag behind us as we move forward.
The excessive nature of hearts.
They don’t even have to be excessive there is plenty of content in the open world to last long enough without having to be tedious.
Sometimes i can get immersed in a unique heart- even if its just serving brew to patrons or finding distracted faction members at a party. I’m the type of guy developers can appreciate, i read all the text and try to truly get into the experience.
But this is impossible. I just finished a heart where i turned into an animal with one attack skill and i had to kill 15 rabbits with it. Why 15? I surely would have been like alright cool after killing about 5. But instead i have to run around and search for rabbits for 5 mins and click “attack” about 50 times.
Some of these simple tasks last longer than entire call of duty missions- it really could move a whole lot faster. As much as i appreciate all the hard work that went into guild wars 2- the tedious nature of hearts is enough to burn me out for the day after doing about 4 of them.
It’s bad enough that they allow those heathen Charrs to wear Balthazar’s Regalia totally ruining my immersion.
I can’t imagine what an abomination will be created by allowing pieces of Batlhazar’s Regalia to be mixed with dresses and salad leaves.
I sure am glad Anet made it an outfit and not totally spit on Batlhazar’s image.
(edited by Izaya.2906)
Please stop crying about outfits.
As someone who likes outfits (not all outfits, but some), it is my hope that ANet continue to produce both armor sets and outfits going forward.
Ranger pet? Why not put it on passive?
If there was DR on PvP Reward Chests, it would operate on acquiring, not opening. I would imagine they work just as Lucky Envelopes did. Stack up your MF bonuses, and open all.
I think the whole ‘several exotics from mobs at once causes DR’ is a unsubstantiated rumor.
Good luck.
You travel into a land that has had all hope stripped from it. There, a new “vision” is manifest. It is a land of fear, and with that weapon, darkness will strike at your heart. What do you fear?
Answer 1: I have always been afraid that already-finished content would be removed. That characters I cared about would disappear, and that I couldn’t save them.
Response 1: You are a good person. That you seek to protect these characters shows your gentle heart. Hold fast to that earnestness; it will also be your strength.
Answer 2: My greatest fear is that all of the story that shows that my character is fallible would be removed; a failure so grievous that it would cause the loss of the respect of my comrades. That it would disappoint my companions and become a source of dishonor.
Response 2: It is good to hold oneself in high regard, but better to remember that a hero who is always perfect is shallow and two-dimensional. Keep this in mind, or you will find yourself alone.
Answer 3: I worry that my duties will cause me to continue to watch something I truly care about be condemned to agony. Knowing that I’d been unable to voice my concern sooner because I did not know what was coming would be more than I could bear.
Response 3: Your heart is courageous but also kind. Hold fast to that, and remember that mistakes can be repaired, if you are strong enough to face them.
I need some time to consider my answer, Mother Tree. Give me a moment to reflect.
Thank you, Pale Tree. I will remember your wisdom.
RIP Lionguard Apatia: We knew we would lose you, but never thought it would be like this.

Please bring back the Personal Story plot points that have been removed. They are an already-finished product (an already-invested production cost) and I felt like these were the most important moments in my character’s life. Seeing them gone from my character’s Story Journal in the Hero Panel makes me feel like a part of their history is gone. And when I read that the Feature Pack would make story “more compelling” I waited to continue story on alts who had not yet finished it. Now I feel like I should have rushed them through before the update, as now they will never get to meet the characters who I thought were most important to my story.

Please don't release between april 8 and 22
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Assume they release it at april..imagine how buggy it will be…remember this recent patch how buggy it was? imagine that x100, so many complaints…release it when its ready.
I think A-net included the skills to add an extra dimension to each race. Although they have little application, I’m grateful that they included them.
For instance, I think it would be a travesty if I rolled a Norn and was never able to transform into a Bear etc.
It also resonates a little with GW1 where there were Racial Skills that you obtained after you earned Faction after completing particular quests.
I found some of the skills handy when I was levelling up, anyways. They’re certainly not that useful at level 80 because you can’t trait into them. (Edit: Like Riku, I use the Charr Shout. I use it on my Might Stacking S/D Ele that I’m levelling).
And like you said, these skills simply can’t be OP or particularly useful. If there was a niche build or useful application for any one of them (that outshone any of the base-skills), people would feel pressured to roll that particular race. A-net wanted Race to feel different only in respect to Lore and Aesthetic.
You will soon be able mine mine platinum, and as you explore the world you will unlock more areas, and will be bale to specifically target rich nodes, which should make your gather trips a lot faster.
(if you aren’t already using this)

Also, when you get high enough, start doing teq every day for 2+ gold, and a big chunk of karma.
There is also speed running dungeon paths, along with some other stuff.
Edit: Also, check the prices of the ingot version of the ores you’re selling, sometimes you’ll make more money if you refine them before selling, sometimes not.
Ascended gear is earned not bought, If you could sell them, everyone could get them and earning them would mean nothing!
