The Family Deuce. Asuran Adventure Specialists.
Not yet. That’s what Heart of Thorns is for.
Much appreciated. I got to Drytop but couldn’t find my way past the zone. Do I need to purchase the living story updates to progress to Silverwastes?
TYVM
No, Silverwastes entrance is in Brisban Wildlands. About halfway up the map where the Sinister Triad is in Vandals Claim. The nearest waypoint is Triforge Waypoint.
Hi!
1) Living story is the general story line of the game that takes place after your personal story. Season 1 is currently unplayable, but you can buy the past episodes of season 2 in the gem store. These are playable at level 80 and assume you have completed the personal story.
2) Profession specializations are feature in the Heart of Thorns exapnsion pack coming up. They allow level 80 characters to do bigger and better things, providing a different way to expereince the same characters.
3) Don’t really worry about a build until level 80. By then you’ll have access to all the traits, either going around the world and unlocking them by doing certain things, or purchasing them for your profession trainer for skill points and coin. Respecing can be done for free at anytime you are not in combat. This lets you change your build on the fly to adapt to diffferent situations rather than be stuck in a certain role.
Hope that helps!
Actually, we have a whole guild running around that idea. Running dungeons as special games? I haven’t done a “regular” dungeon in a year or so x)
Not everyone likes what I do in my dungeons, but you seem like you’d love it.
It’s not just dungeons either. While my area of expertise is there, we have expanded the whole idea to all areas of the game. We like taking this “DIY fun” and applying it to the Guild Progression. So if you’re into it, you’ll find yourself hunting for “Sitting Spots” over Tyria, honing your hard twitch skills (for one of the progress tracks), focusing on leadership, tinkering with events, helping us test and prototype exciting dungeon games (or “twists”, if you’re the kind of person who likes to have a super hard dungeon with 3 twists simultaneously)…
Right now we have a sack of fun you haven’t thought of, judging by your post!
Really, I can’t say how much I’d love to play with you, but this may seem like a blatant guild recruitment, so I won’t post any links here
my request, as you’re looking for class specialist, is please make sure they are not “my way or the highway” type people. it would be very frustration, for hypothetical example, to ask for elementalist advice for landscape PvE, and then only get advice for speedclearing a dungeon, and then be told that any build not designed for speedclearing is trash.
please find specialists that won’t push a particular meta on the rest of us, that won’t belittle us for trying out builds in one game mode that don’t work in another game mode, that won’t mock us for not using accepted min-max builds.
i myself will be less lenient on class specialists. if i ever see one of them say things like “learn 2 play” or “that build is total trash,” i will be reporting them for breaking ToS troll / flame rules. i however, will not be actively seeking out all their posts, as that would take up too much of my time.
i would also add that these class specialists should be able to discuss the pros and cons of skills, traits, combos, builds, in all game modes, and should be able to distinguish the difference between general PvE (landscape), Dungeons and World Bosses, Fractals, Living World and Personal Story, WvW and EotM, and the different PvP modes, (deathmatch, capture point, stronghold), because all of those are essentially different game modes. (and i consider speedclearing to be a different game mode, or should i say playstyle, than dungeons, and soloing dungeons to be different than dungeons.)
for example, if i’m asking for help on a build for general PvE (landscape), i don’t want answers for speedclearing dungeons: i want answers for general PvE (landscape).
my apologies for the overpassionate tone of my post. i’ve had bad experiences on unofficial Guild Wars 1 forums where people flamed anyone who didn’t play exactly the same way they did, and i’d really like these class specialists to be helpful, and not belittling.

Is there a question in here?
You may not like it, but there are plenty of people who do. You also said that it is a grinding and farming map, and the only ones who are there are farmers and grinders. If that’s the case, then the map serves its purpose rather well.
If you don’t like it, you are not compelled to go there. Its pretty simple really.
Plus if Anet actively discourages farming then why make a map specifically for that?
I get your rant, but at the same time I find it unfounded and extremely subjective.
If you already have access to the episodes, you have access to them until Guild Wars 2 servers go down permanently. (Which is likely a long way into the future)
Not only that, but you have access on every alt you make, not just your current ones. Take your time!
Yes. Not only one title, but all of them below your name. Because we need to see them all. Especially in WvW, zerging isnt zerging without a million titles on your screen. It should also write out all your titles in the chat everytime you talk.
there is already bagillion titles in the game, how is your post relevant to the OP?
if you want to suggest an option to hide other ppl titles on screen you should create a topic and voice your idea about this “problem”
I’ve leveled multiple classes to 80 and honestly have the most fun on the engineer, just due to the variability in play. With regard to race, it depends on what you want to go for:
Human: Looks good in the most wide range of armors, highest armor variability options. Average look.
Charr: Savage, bestial, large look — tends to look great in heavy armor, very poor to mediocre in medium and light. A lot of armor clipping and stretching issues.
Norn: Large, brutish, aggressive. Looks great in a lot of armor, but similar to Charr, can have some clipping and stretching issues.
Sylvari: Elf-sprite like – -Similar to human in that the race fits a lot of armors, but tends to look most natural with cultural armors. Skin/hair glow is a definite unique plus, but tree-like facial expressions can be a turn off for many people.
Asura: honestly has some of the most “fun” animations, jumping, and movement throughout the world. Light armor tends to look great on Asura, but downside is that you’re a bit smaller so gear setups don’t show as well, and can have some clipping/downsizing issues with armor.
The armor box recipes doesn’t turn the armor into a Box of _ Armor. They just teach you a recipe that crafts a whole set at once. The cost the same as making the individual pieces. You might save a bit of time if you were mass producing many sets.
It’s not an armour skin, it’s the Vestments of the Lich outfit.
They said that for now it’s 5v5. Depending on the feedback they might change the team numbers.
Double click only activates it. Right click and click Add to Account Wardrobe. Short of already account bound miniatures, it will ask if you want to account bind the miniature. Click yes and it will disappear.
To equip a miniature that’s in the account wardrobe, Click H, then go to the minatures tab. Any that are in your inventory (not account bound) will be on top. Then the ones you’ve unlocked will be below. Click on the one you want to equip from the collection section and it will populate the icon on the top. Make sure it’s checked or it will be hidden.
Re: miniatures.
The wardrobe system can hold most if not all miniatures so you do not have to store them in inventory. To store a Mini in the wardrobe, right click it and choose Add to Account Wardrobe. To display the mini on any character, go to the Hero panel (H is the default keybind, or click the shield with a sword across it icon in the upper left of the UI. Choose Miniatures. Clicking on a mini in the collection panel that appears puts it into a check box which you can check to display that mini.
Cheers.
Double click on a mini summons it, you need to RClick, as above.
Miniatures don’t take up space anymore. Right click, add to wardrobe, and there’s an interface in your hero panel. One of the things they got right in 2014.
^You misunderstand something. The reason there’s 2 stats per trait line is because each trait line has multiple builds within it. Take necro traits as an example. Both power and condition (and hybrid) builds take points into Spite and Curses, for two different reasons. Just because a tree has a stat that any given build wont use compared to the other, does not mean there’s anything wrong.
Additionally, the 300 power is often not an issue at all. Back when I ran Juggernaut engi, instead of 6 points into line 1, I’d put 6 into alchemy and get HGH and other elixir benefits. Sure I’d lose 300 power or so from trait points, but the gain I get from traits, especially because with HGH and juggernaut together, I’m sitting on top of 25 might in combat within a couple seconds (this is paired with sig/rune of strength). I’m pretty sure 875 power outweighed 300 power by a large margin.
In about 15 minutes i will be doing a walk-through of Diessa Plateau (NA). All levels are welcome, especially low levels and new players. Anyone who would like to join please whisper me in game TheComposer.6574
Guild Wars 1 has a free trial available. Play it and see if you like it or not. It’s a very different game so there’s no use playing it for the lore if you’re not going to have fun doing so.
I personally think it’s worth it. It’s a really fun game and the lore is rich and interesting. The perks are also worth it as well. I find myself using the Heritage armour quite often, it’s one of the nicest sets in GW2 if you ask me.
People would just use it to assault a keep with endless reinforcements until the enemy gave up.
This would be an extremely broken mechanic.
People would abuse the crap out of this.
Is it possible to stop the chests from spawning during the Pact preparation and breach? And only make them available during the break in between? Otherwise those of us who want to do the events keep getting screwed over while most of the map just runs in circles until they all run out of shovel and upscale the events which normally at most have 3 people actually doing them them.
If I change maps, and am able to with the help of the other complete a successful breach it invariably turns back into a key farm and I am told to leave because I am doing the events, and that they were here first. Even if I am in the map from the fist level, and no key farm is taking place, they were ALWAYS there first.
Get a guild bank. It doesn’t take much to create, 6g for the first 50 slot guild bank. Just don’t drop the guild if no one else is a member, or else you will lose it all.
Can also store mats you wanna save here too. Just not account bound mats.
Insurance for this is the next time you see the game go on sale, buy a second account. Make the second account also be a member with invite privileges. Then if you accidentally boot your main account, your guild isn’t wiped and your secondary account can re-invite you.
I’d encourage this too, but I don’t know why you would stop at invite privileges if you don’t make the second account a leader of the guild you can’t promote your original account back to leader/ownership of the guild status.

Welcome back!
1) Tonics are tonics, there is no way to dye them. Liken them to other tonics that change your appearance, like mystery tonics etc.
2) Any outfits are now available to use under the Hero Panel (H). One side-bar menu is “Outfits” and clicking this will display all available and previously available outfits. Outfits can be dyed under the “Dye” section of the Hero Panel when the outfit is toggled on/visible.
3) Unfortunately I’m not an avid RP-er, so my help is limited. I do believe that a lot of RP-ers hang around in one of the taverns in Divinity’s Reach. Ask there and I’m sure somebody can point you towards a guild
Tips:
-Living Story Season 2 can be purchased to play, 200 gems for each episode (8 in total). If you log in whilst the episode is “airing” then you can receive the episode for free. It is too late to get them for free for the majority (if not all of them now), but if they release any LS in the future, you now know.
I believe you can “piggy back” the LS if you want to appreciate the story. Just be in a party with somebody who is playing through it and enter their instances. You won’t get any of the rewards though.
-Heart of Thorns (HoT), the first GW2 expansion has been announced and will probably be released towards autumn of this year. A new class, profession specialisations, new legendaries and a massive mastery system are things that everybody is looking forward to!
-Dailies and monthlies have been re-done (although Dailies might be a new thing altogether for you). You get rewards for every daily you complete, but only need to complete 3 from any section (WvW/PvE/PvP) to be awarded 10 Achievement Points.
-There has been an NPE feature pack. This means that levelling will be different to how you remember. Skills are level-gated along with a few other things. You get rewards every time you level up- often you receive gear that can be equipped.
-World Bosses now have a strict schedule that they adhere to. They are the same timings every day.
-Ascended gear (pink gear) can be crafted now. They add very little stat benefit overall compared to exotic gear, but are considered end-game and laborious to craft. Ascended gear is required in the Fractals dungeons as you require Agony Resistance to survive, which can be applied to Ascended gear as an upgrade. All crafting disciplines except Jeweller and Chef have had their cap raised to 500- you must be this in order to craft ascended gear.
-Log in rewards! Every day you log in, you receive a gift. There is a rotation that last 4 weeks and every week the gifts get slightly better (e.g. week 1 you get 1 tome of knowledge, week 2 you get 2 etc). Once you have received all 28 days worth of gifts, the counter starts over and you can receive them all over again. Progress isn’t lost if you miss logging in on one day.
-There are two (or perhaps 3, for you) new areas. Silverwastes and Dry Top. They are located in the North West of the map, near Brisban Wildlands. They were added along with the Living Story season 2, but can be entered even if you don’t have the story unlocked.

In case anyone else finds themselves wondering this: (I asked support and they were kind enough to confirm)
Yes. It is safe to skin your legendary in the wardrobe system. It will lose it’s visual effects, but retain all of its legendary functions – ability to change stats out of combat, remain account bound, and will always be top tier stats.
So you can doll up your legendaries in the latest Black Lion Skin, or whatever else suits your fancy without worry of it breaking, like they once did before the wardrobe was released. Happy news! =)
(for me anyway)
It seems that for some it might be needed to drop the GEMFX files in the bin folder and also the main directory.
Guardian can help ease the learning process.
Uh… I don’t know what you’re talking about exactly, but you seem very sarcastic in this post and passively hostile. That’s not the best way to get your message across.
If I understand your complaint properly (and I’m not sure I do), you seem to be complaining about having the living story instances marked by the quest star. Now, I can understand this being annoying going from open world to instance if you accidentally press the wrong button. To be fair, though, there is a confirmation window for those that make certain you can’t accidentally enter it if you click no. I don’t think even pressing F will auto-accept for that.
You seem to be talking about the reverse, though: the green star appearing in instances and getting kicked out to the open world. The only time I’ve seen something like that was when I was in something like the home instance, where I called for an instance but there’s no story going on there. Thus, no monsters are trying to kill me and it’s always right there by the entrance of the instance. There’s also the exit button present in the lower right. I have never seen the green star appear in the middle of the story, nor left an instance accidentally before I wanted to leave (unless I accidentally close the client, but that’s something else entirely).
As for the “no save” function, short of the boss battle levels, the instances are generally short enough that you don’t have to do that much backtracking to catch up. This may be inconvenient if you were just about to finish the instance, but it’s a pretty small gripe to make. It’s not as if you need to restart at level 2 or back in your home city when doing an instance in Orr.
The Living World uses the same system it did for the Personal Story, and that aspect hasn’t really changed since launch. You most likely have done at least some of the personal story by now, or else you got to level 80 without caring about plot and just hacking your way through whatever red creature seemed most difficult. If you haven’t played the personal story at all, I recommend you go back to your race’s home instance and play chapter 1. You might find you actually like it.
