Condi dmg cap

-The bad news.
Yes, there’s a cap.
A target can’t have more than 25 stack of bleeding.

-The good news
Even a full rabid necro with 100% condition duration and with a good rotation would be hard to reach that cap alone. (something like 20, but not 25)

-The second bad news.
Running in dungeon with a second condition player, you will reach quite easy the 23 cap, reducing both your overall dps.

-The second good news
Necro has many condition that deals damage, so (according to the other players condi build and class) he could switch and relay on other condition, such as burning and torment(on some very walking bosses)

-The third bad news
On World Event, bleed cap is always up at 25……. (except torment, didn’t see that yet)

-The third good news
………in World Event, you don’t care about your damage.

-The final game breaking fourth good news!!
Evrey one who thinks about condition builds are so afraid of the condition cap, so they tend to build a classic power builds……Which is the reason why WE can make our condition necro without problems.

You make good points and I do not disagree with you. I am just frustrated by many personal experiences on my Necro where a warrior can literally retreat whenever he wants by GS 3 away from me, then GS 5 out of range. Both of these remove any roots or slows I may be tagging him with.

I do not expect the entire rebalancing of warrior GS or anything to be done really, but I am just tired of games where the tanky heavy armor class can outrun cloth and leather classes. It makes no sense at all to me.

Because he has traited to remove those. It isn’t free – the skills by themselves don’t do that.
Thieves can also stealth and escape, mesmers can blink, eles can do the same.

Necro is pretty decent at mobility but you can’t expect to be good at everything. A warrior that has a GS on cannot CC that much, so he’s trading that off for the mobility. Also if he’s running away you’ve won that fight. You’ve achieved what you wanted to achieve – if sPVP you’ve won the point, if WvW you’ve driven him off.

Victory =/= kill.

Sorry it took me a while to reply, but I had better things to do than to reply to someone who lost their credibility when they said Engineer’s turrets were tough to deal with. Anyways, here is a video I took of a PvP match where a naked Warrior (yes, NAKED Warrior), was still able to outlive my damage as a fully decked out thief. Apologies for how terrible the video quality is, and also don’t bother commenting about how I was just playing terrible. I had to scramble to get my phone to record it with, and then I had to play with one hand holding my phone up and on on my mouse, so I pretty much could only stand there. However the video does serve its purpose in that I am hitting the warrior multiple times for 2-4k, and not only is it BARELY doing a dent to his HP (don’t forget, he’s kittening NAKED), but he is actually able to regenerate most of the damage.

I’m not even going to bother addressing your video. Others have done that.
With this video you’ve proven that you don’t really deserve to be taken seriously and I will stop that now.

There are two problems with HS, but neither of them are completely responsible for the current perception of warriors. The HS problems are-

1: too much sustain for too little specialization (and too little sustain when traiting for sustain) Fix it with a lower base of around 300 per second that scales to 400 with moderate healing power and a around 550 or so with a lot of healing power. This would allow for some better bunker/support builds, and force those builds to sacrifice something for it. It would also encourage more zerk type builds to use surge for less run and reset type brawling.

2: no incentive to use active. The base healing of active skill could use some attention, a small boost and perhaps grant regen for a few seconds to not totally eliminate the sustain? I would prefer it to clear condi more like mending though, and have mending reworked.

The larger problem most people have with warrior (and most don’t realize it) is the amount of sustain that was created when warriors lost their weakness to conditions. Not all warrior builds are condi clearing maniacs, but many of the meta builds have little problem keeping high stacks off. This should be reworked a little, not reduced back to the levels that kept warriors from being viable so long ago, but every class needs a weakness.

So you’re basically saying " bring warrior back to where he was a while eago when he was kept from being viable".
This is an actual quote " kept warriors from being viable". You basically just flat out stated you want this class kept in a non-viable place. Aka nerfed into the ground.

Why do you even post? That’s not something constructive.

The whole idea of HS is that it offers sustain without forcing you to spec too much into it. This is balanced because of the fact that apart from that passive sustain you get almost nothing ( healing signet active is very weak).
The things you want to change about the skill are exactly the things that were designed to be the trade-off. Good passive heal without giving you the ability to turn it into an OP heal if you spec into healing power AND forces you to trade your ability to counter heavy spikes against you because of the weak active.
It was designed right and it works like that.
I play HS warrior. Poison and spikes are my bane. And that’s exactly how it should be.
Why make it like mending and have mending reworked? The skill is fine on its on and as it is.

Also the fact that you want warriors to be made unviable because you dislike the class is just an expression of what the player base has become.
Malicious to the extreme.

Um, I said to NOT reduce condi clearing back to levels that kept warriors from being viable. NOT reduce. You may want to slow down and read all the words before you spew forth errant conclusions.

Can anyone answere this question, what is the warriors new weakness?

The warriors greatest strength right now is that dumb people don’t know how to play against them.

Their weakness is cry babies calling for nerfs before learning to play.

You mean, stealth/clones/multiple sources of invul/wide access to boons/4 sets of weapon skills/pets/second lifebar/teleports/additional evades and so on?

Listening to map chat was your first mistake. Sigil of Fire is crap. Also drop the shortbow. This isn’t really the appropriate thread to preach about how bad bows are but in all seriousness, even if bows were amazing, if you are having trouble with Risen mobs swarming you in melee, a single-target ranged weapon is typically not the best choice. Greatsword and 1H sword should clear the Risen easily, as should swapping out your bear pet (I know you’re using one, everyone runs bearbow) for a more DPS-oriented pet like a feline or bird. Having a tanky pet is pointless when the glassiest pet still has a billion HP and armor and mobs don’t aggro it in the first place.

Considering this is exactly how Claudia Christian sounds – and she’s quite female – that’s a pretty big insult.

Warrior survivability need some serious nerf. I don’t even wanna play warrior, but it’s so frigging OP that it’s stupid play anything else.

Please come back when you have something constructive or some arguments to support your ideas.

high survivability + highest mobility in game. One of these will eventually have to go. I’d rather have mobility nerfed.

high survivability if you SPEC FOR IT. Which leaves you with little damage.
High mobility if you use certain weapons – which leave you with no CC.
So you’re a fast walking ball of sustain and healing that can do exactly nothing.

You people really don’t get what you’re saying – you’re just spamming the same thing over and over again.

The mobility is FINE since you can’t really do anything else with a troll GS+S/WH build other than troll around.
Any decent player will repel you. The only effective thing you can do is run around.

The amount of trolling going on in this subforum is insane. The trolls aren’t even trying to hide anymore. They’re just hateful and mad and are just pointing a finger and saying " nerf x because i can’t kill it".

In sPVP if a warrior runs YOU WIN THE POINT. You’ve won. You don’t need the kill.
in WvW if a warrior runs you’ve WON THE FIGHT. He’s driven off and your objective is safe.

Winning =/= killing. This is not a 1 vs 1 fight to the death.

People have found some viable builds since then and Anet addressed a lot of old problems.

The other classes need to adapt to this instead of calling for nerfs. The warrior could use a GS since launch but now all of a sudden its OP? Wtf is wrong with you guys?

IDK what the offhand would be for both but on paper it seems like it would just roll over people or lower end dungeons.

Actually I’m pretty sure nobody is really sure what you’re saying cause that garbled mess of a first post was a godkitten disaster area.

My best guess was similar to Vanthian’s: You wanted two axe sets with 100% crit sigils for double eviscerate spam with 100% crit chance. I originally abandoned that idea because it’s stupid. Even if it worked (which it doesn’t – two sets of the same weapon still share cooldown, so if you used one eviscerate the other would also go on cooldown) you’d never catch anyone to try it.

So if that’s not what you meant then maybe you should humble the kitten up and explain it better! And try doing it in English this time.

The entirety of this post deals with WvW and sPVP/tPVP play. I don’t dabble with the mysterious pixel mosters you call “PVE”. Anyways, I just got back from a wonderful experience with the mesmer class.. had a terrific time. But i knew it was a matter of time before i went back to me ol’ necro. Funny how playing a new class makes you realize everything missing with your old one.

I hear over and over again that necromancer is the “attrition” class. I was like “heck yeah it is! I’m gonna look that word up because I have no kitten clue what it means..” Turns out google knew:

That kinda makes sense to me.. Yeah. necro. attrition class. Condis and locusts and mass condis and epidemic plagues. Yes.

BUT WAIT..

a TRUE attrition class doesn’t just deal out the damage, but is able to stay in the fight using defensive tools such as stability, invulnerability etc. I mean, what good is your attrition when you’re getting stomped because a warrior looks at you and you’re stunned knocked down and wondering what you did the night before?

Let’s see where the necro stands with some of these defensive tools:

-Condi clears:
Necro has a ton of these.. Try to beat a necro with conditions and you’re most likely asking for a quick and painful death.

-Death shroud:
YES! death shroud allows us to take an extra 14k damage before we die.

-Invulnerability:
Nada.

-Stability:
None. (unless you’re willing to go 30 points into a tree that has another sweet GM trait you would probably rather take than 3 measly seconds of stability.)

-Ability to stomp those we attritionize to death:
Nope. Unless you want to waste a 3 minute cooldown on a very useful elite skill. (every class except necro has a consistent option for stomping downed players. That is not debatable.)

-combo finishers?:
We could REALLY use some love here. There is nothing more fun than getting a big fire bubble of death on your dude because you jumped through a flaming circle. You necros wouldnt understand.. wait I’m a necro too.. kitten it.

I think I’m about done complaining.. This just kinda felt good to write. I’ll probably play necro still and just see how long i can attritionate people until I die and they run away laughing.

I encourage you to post comments such as “L2P” because as I read them I’m like “wtf are you talking about, I already love to party”.

Rangers are really that bad?

Rangers are strong. They can win 1v2 in most PvP settings, they can roam effectively in WvW, they are one of the fastest speed clearing classes and they have a decent health pool. they are very fun for soloing around the world, too. if you want to play ranger, play ranger. people who think it’s a bad class (or not a great class) just aren’t playing ranger properly.
