I think ranger is both hard to see what the good builds are and hard to play making warrior or thief more popular choices for most players. Ranger is a skill profession.
There are so many things wrong with this post. If you are still losing to a thief as a ranger I don’t know what to say. We really do have all the utilities to beat them.
The only thieves that beat me are well-played ones, but that is because I am not a very good ranger. I have personally seen GREAT rangers defeat GREAT thieves on more than one occasion.
The only thing wrong with this class right now is the pet. Everyone will agree with that and every day we try to make anet listen. Other than that, this is a great class, with great builds that are really effective.
If you are talking about GvG, then all medium armor professions have a lot of problems right now with 20v20 or 10v10 matchups. Thieves and engineers struggle to find a role in a 10v10 or 20v20 too right now. I don’t GvG a lot so I do not know why that is a reason, but I think it’s because currently in the games state, the Heavy and Light professions bring far too much group utility when comapared to the Medium professions.
Stealth is MORE then strong. It should NOT be spammable, it should NOT be perma. Sure they cant damage you in stealth, except that is countered by the traits that buff them and there damage from attacking in stealth. Getting hit for nearly 16,000 damage in a blink of an eye is simply unacceptable.
NOTHING in the game is as strong as Thief stealth and only Thief will say otherwise.
100% critical chance from stealth…really!?
Lets not forget they remove conditions, regain health, regain initiative and move faster in stealth as well…
So other then Thieves that rely on the games most broken mechanic anyone else think that it is LONG over due that Anet pull the finger out and fix Stealth? Is it not bad enough they have obscene damage and movement they have to have the most broken mechanic in the game.
Sure i know the Thieves will come screaming “L2P” and such but anyone else think this mechanic is seriously in need of being fixed. Why is it that Stealth in other MMO is a “Use at right time” mechanic but here its “lol spam, spam, spam” mechanic…
Summary: We don’t want any classes that require skill to play.

Warrior forums are filled with awesome ideas to improve the class, meanwhile other forums are filled with whining, and its bleeding into our class Area.
Warriors never went on other forums and QQed and asked for nerfs to other classes, WE wanted improvements to ours.

I’d do 3 hyenas… they’d multiply into 6 hyenas, and then they could rotate leap attacks to keep the opponent knocked down for like 12 seconds.

Ranger was advertised as a pet-based class from the start. If people don’t want a pet it is not unreasonable to point to other classes as there was no bait-and-switch here. We were given, from the start, knowledge that the pet is an integral part of the class.
Let’s, instead of asking or petitioning for pet removal, request pet improvement.
As far as your petition, though. You shame the community by asking for a class to change it’s primary mechanic and make us all look bad. -1

I logged in to do some crafting for daily, pressed B and hopped into IoJ Borderlands. Well, I had the WvW interface up still when I loaded and was surprised to see IoJ as Red, in third place, against Crystal Desert and Sanctum of Rall. Turns out I’d somehow become an agent of NSP. I saw all my ‘allies’ as Isle of Janthir [rank], a member of my party as their actual name (despite being an enemy).
Obviously NSP has mastered mind control techniques.

Why nerf it? BG has shown it can be done. It has not been 12 hours yet.
They killed it because they have more people, more organized than others. Does this call for a nerf? No. But, the fact that it takes this long and being more organized, does call for a nerf. Not a huge one either, but, the rewards do seem slim for how hard the event is.

There’s always going to be something that separated “them” from “us”. If the developers remove those checks then we’re left with everyone getting a participation ribbon for doing menial content…we’re left with what Tequatl was before today.

Thanks Anet for creating these amazing looking places to fight at! My personal favorite is the high altitude spot where you can kick off ppl ( I have killed 4 ppl there already!) while changing my warrior skills to kick and rampage.
The graphics of these spots are really great, especially the forrest are.. it feels so lush and alive.
I have more to explore there, and I think I have to make a new thief for all of these spots
Buff is nice too, you want to finish someone more then before! Ignore these GvG weirdoes :P cause this is a great patch for WvW.

GvG is something what bad Spvp players created. Please MOD, I don’t want to call you out but these guys only troll on every positive post I make.
I really want to thank Anet guys for creating this, it is awesome.
Having been stuck in overflow attempts only, i have never seen him get to throw his tantrum on the 25’s, but..as long as that pic loads in this is my general idea:
1) All turret people need to be in a party who has the dragon as its marked target, keeping that thing targeted with so much else going on was impossible on my own, and I missed many shots with skill #2.
2) Each turret needs to support the others with skill #3 (this clears the poison field and will save the zerg, more on that later)
3) The zerg stands clumped in front of the turrets and not at the dragon’s feet, this allows turret skills 3-5 to be targeted easily, and in the picture, all 3 turrets get to combine the firing of these buffs, it also allows easy aoe heals, condition removals and rez (think Alpha of CoE 2 & 3)
4) The zerg’s #1 priority is defending those turrets, clearing out mobs and fingers, when this is satisfactory they can turn and range (only) the dragon.
Again, having never been witness to the 25%‘s mechanics I can’t comment any farther on what happens then, but this is the simplest picture that i see when i look at the setup of the battlefield.

lots of fun fights today in the new bloodlust area. Small team havoc squads finally got some love with this area lol. abys, host, and the others we have ran into so far in the new area fun fights!!! krew will make tht our new home for a while if any1 is looking to duke it out

Bloodlust imbalance or not, the new ruins have been home to some REALLY fun fights today. I managed to kick like three people off the top of the SE one with one Stomp on my little Asura warrior.
Though I suppose I am not really seeing where the imbalance talk is coming from; a group of 10 seems to be able to very quickly flip the whole map by splitting into two coordinated groups of 5, and I thought small, coordinated groups of very good players was what BP was all about, to read these forums. I mean, most of the kittening about losing to us from any server in the position these last couple of weeks has been “Oh, we have small, skilled groups but can’t match your zergs”, and this is content that very specifically caters to that exact subset.
I mean, I guess if SBI managed to get all three at once you could have a point, but I just can’t see that happening.
