The problem is that LS achievements are available until one update is released and since update time is not fixed they can’t make a proper timer.
They don’t need to count down to the second.
All they need to do is have a timer that counts down to either the last daily reset time before the patch day or to the 12:00am on patch day morning. After this timer reaches zero, change the color in the timer to red so that it is understood that it is update day and any time you have left is ‘bonus’ time to complete.
The issue keeps cropping up because the dates are only ever mentioned buried in forum threads when a dev or community person posts them. Never anywhere official. The only date they ever put in the patch notes are for very limited things, like mad king says or the bonfire at the end of flame & frost.
While not my preferred solution, just putting the dates on the release page and in the patch notes would go a long way.
100% agree.
Pixelpumpkins has a the exact same suggestion in the suggestion forums:

It would be nice to be able to track the comings and goings of temporary content.
Yes ! This is exactly what I need, I never know how long the event lasts and from when to when it runs.
Some updates seem to last two weeks, some four weeks. So yes, it would be pretty good.
Thanks for the feedback, I agree. Since most updates are sort of up in there air for when they end it’d be a nice addition to being able to see when exactly the events end.

Agree a timer would be sweet
Similar to how the daily / monthly achievements have timers for how long they are available, I would love to see the living story updates in the future include this timer. There is often not a very clear source of the time frame of an event and if there is, it’s generally hard to find.
I don’t reddit, I don’t twitter, I don’t facebook. I would like to be able to tell when these events are going to end and not have to scour the internet to find the information.
So please, copy / paste some source code from the daily / monthly achievement timers and add them in for future living story / event releases so that there’s no question as to when these events end.
This would solve a lot of player questions before they’re even asked as well as prevent a lot of crying when people thought a release would be longer or shorter than it was.
Thanks!

Well, it would be very helpful if you add “Time remaining” information in Living world achievments. Like it is in Daily and Monthly. I think that it is easy to implement, so please think about it.
+1 for this
They should go into the material bank.
Please add a possiblity to deposit Copper, Silver, Gold and Platinum Doubloons just like other collectibles in our bank!!
they are crafting mats and even the halloween, wintersday etc crafting mats have their own spot there
so why not the doubloons?

I’d rather they just merge those topics such as
duel
mounts
race change
inspect
nothing wrong with raids they are stating their opinion just as you are and aside from one person no1 is saying your page should be removed xD.

Class specific armor would be great anyways, but as a legendary armor that would be beyond awesome. And great for show off. ;D
Gw2 is my favorite MMO out there, but there has always been one thing that has bothered me. Armor in GW2 is seperated into 3 types ( light, medium and heavy).
Because of this, classes in the game don’t really stand out. Engi’s, thieves and rangers most of the time all look the same. The same goes for light armor and heavy armor classes. I hate that i cant tell what class someone is unless I click on them or watch them fight.
It would be amazing if LEGENDARY ARMOR was separated by class giving us 8 unique armors that make each class stand out as legendary. I know during development ANET didn’t have the resources to do that but now that the game has been out over a year and the gem store is doing well, it must be more than possible! Hell you guys are able to release huge world changing patches every two weeks. Surely you could finally give us class armor!!!
I would love it and the players would love it! It would be legendary!!!!!
P.S
Anet if you find it in your heart to do this………. I play and Engi and would love an awesome Engi set that’s all tinkerer style with gizmos and gadgets…
I wouldn’t play as a quaggan, probably. However, they have a rich and very interesting culture that I would love to know more about. A lot of people are mistaken by the way they speak and end up believing that they are dumb and childish. They have Olympic games, a structured religion and political organization. They also used to have a royal family, but it was killed by kraits along with their goddess if my memory serves me right.
Quaggans are as civilized and smart as most of the playable races. I would like to see more of them.

Does suck you have to choose between hair or bald with a hat for most headgear.
One can only hope.
ArenaNet put hair under a few hats in GW1, so maybe they will do it soon!
I love hats! But I also enjoy not being bald. I’ve come to limit myself to only wearing hoods, and I’ve put that awesome top hat on the back shelf for awhile.
I’ve always wondered, why do you have to be bald wearing a hat? I understand that clipping issues can be a problem, obviously. But other games all manage to have a decent looking basic hair under hats, so your characters aren’t bald, at least.
So yeah, if you guys could do something about that, it’d be pretty neat.
Necromancer #3 I like.
I realize it backs away from what necros were in gw1 by quite a bit – minions constantly losing health until they are healed or die. But this game is different from 1. Health regen outside of combat would not be overpowered at all.
The host is basically the party leader. IMO, no two people should ever have the authority to kick the host. Three or four people perhaps (if the host is being a real jerk). But TWO people just makes it too easy to grief / troll party leaders (and hence the whole party).
Trolling/griefing by vote kicking is a problem for the other 4 players in the party as well, not just the host, so that won’t solve anything.
- The instance should not be cancelled in the first place, whether the “host” gets kicked / leaves / DCs or not
- /party chat logs need to be preserved when you leave a party, so when you get an unfair/unrightful kick, so can prove it and report the players
But these two things have been suggested a number of times already.
Those 2 suggestions wouldn’t fix the issue of being host, opening party to the LFG tool, then having 2 people (buddies) join and immediately kicking the host. In fact those suggestions would allow the buddies to hijack the dungeon.
Until they make it so that the dungeon doesn’t kick everyone when the host leaves the party, making the host unkickable would be a decent workaround.
Establishing workarounds usually leads to the core issue never getting fixed. Source: working in IT support for most of my work life
I can second this. Source: years in game design (oh if you could see the horrors I’ve seen…)

Logically speaking, OP is right.

If party host gets kicked out of a dungeon, the whole dungeon is over. There is NO good reason to kick the host. This suggestion will stop all the trolling/griefing.
As far as I can tell, everything that inflicts toxic pollen does so rather frequently in a large area, which makes removing it quite weak. Temporary pollen immunity on the spray would make it a much better counter to the pollen.
I don’t like the idea of toxic pollen making you vulnerable to enemy attacks, though; it’s already a fairly complicated effect, and I would prefer to see the Anti-Toxin Spray being useful without feeling mandatory.
I would also like to see an option to throw these in the MF for a chance at making larger bags.
