Mesmers wearing full metal armors, Warriors running around in magician clothers, is this artistic freedom for you?
Your argument that Warriors and Guardians aren’t aggro tanks and that other classes also can take hits like a pro is right, but how do you use this as a justification that for example a Necromancer should be allowed to wear a full metal armor? Where is the sense?
They are things which have it’s nature which should not be changed, I don’t want to see an Elementalist wearing a knight’s armor running around with a freezing aura, throwing fireballs and creating tornados. How stupid is that? Same for a warrior going to the battlefield with a big warhammer but a cloth armor…
To a special role the armor is an important part of it, why want people destroy this? Just accept the role of your character and don’t divide by 0.
This is really where I land, as well. One of my biggest gripes with Guild Wars 2 is that there really isn’t much sense of Class-identity. They seem largely interchangeable, which is something I personally view as a pretty big negative. My Guardian doesn’t really feel any different than playing my Warrior, except that they’re different Races.
If anything, I’d like to see Class-exclusive sets of armor, to further instill the notion that each of these professions is “special” in some way, as opposed to it basically just boiling down to your Race alone.

Only upvotes indeed. If you can downvote players, this will be abused.

Thieves and other builds that heavily use stealth have been enjoying the easy life with these builds, especially in WvW. It allows them to be forgiven and reset fights when they make stupid mistakes. Its the only class in the game that is able to do this to such a level. Ele use to have the same escability and you nerfed them. A class shouldn’t have so much escapability that the player is willing to go into a group of 5 players and try to kill one then get away. Any other class that tries to do that would get owned so fast. Don’t tell me they are squishy. Thieves have plenty of evades, shortbow teleport, blinds, and 2 dodges.
Now I know, its not the same in tpvp. In WvW however, it is no coincidence that a majority of roamers are thieves. I think added revealed to skills that aren’t used in current meta, like you did with ranger, with each class could really help fix the imbalance when it comes to stealth. Here are some ideas.
1. Engineer- Utility Goggles toolbelt skill- add revealed too. maybe decrease the vulnerability stack. Mines can also be viable choices for revealed, but I think they would be better to apply torment.
2. Necromancer- Corrosive Poison Cloud, spectral grasp, and plague signet i think are all viable options. These skills are rarely used for builds dont need them. Poison cloud currently seems like one of the most useless skills. It could apply revealed for one second every one second so moving out of it gets rid of it.
3. Mesmer- signet of domination or midnight would be great choices for applying revealed on activation on target.
4. Elementalist- Arcane Blast could be viable. I’d say either an arcane spell or signet.
5. Thief- a harder class to decide for since most of their skills can fit into what they do very well. I’d say either a trap or signet
6. Warrior- I think kick would be a pretty good skill to add reveled when it hits an enemy.
7. Guardian- Signet of Wrath would probably be a good choice.
They could always change it’s underwater skill. But yeah, if it can or cannot attack underwater is not the point, the fact that you lose it every time it gets it’s feet wet is what is annoying about it. I’d rather have an useless thing follow me around then having to wait for the cd every time.
I stopped using the d@mn Golem for that very reason…the fact that it is so hydrophobic it disobeys your summon and disappears. Then you get hit with a cool down…that is just rubbing salt in the wounds.

A new approach to an idea I had earlier:
In short:
Weapon Trainers – in cities, train you to use new skills for weapons your class can use.
or
Weapon Skill Unlocks – more skills will unlock at after default skills are unlocked only at a slower pace.
Weapon Masters – Hidden throughout Tyria, teach a specific skill for a specific weapon at level 80. These skills give a character a feel of power
These skills are swappable with the default weapon skills, same as utility skills.
A bit more:
Lets use a greatsword for example. It has 5 skills to it. At different levels you can learn from weapon skill trainers a few new skills that you can swap out with the starting default skills. Even better though, hidden though-out Tyria are Weapon specialist – old combat legends – that will teach you an even more advanced skill for a weapon (only at level 80). These skills are more flashy than the default ones and give a player a feeling of progression to combat as they level up and the feeling that a character is becoming more skilled with their weapons and powerful.
Another idea to the acquisition of weapon skills after your default skills are unlocked and would be that instead of weapon trainers, weapon skills would unlock the more you use a weapon. The weapon would level up so to say but in a horizontal manner rather than doing more damage. Maybe only certain unlocks are available at each 20, 40, 60 interval.
Make some noise if you’d like to see this implemented!

Flesh golem is the only Necro minion that cannot swim. And every time you enter water for like 1 sec the silly creature drowns and you are stuck to the 1 min cooldown. So making it so that it could swim would really help, even if it is just at the surface.
Inanimate objects…. I personally run a mixed setup from power/condi with staff, scepter/dagger. We do like no dmg against objects…. Even when swapping to zerker ( I know you cannot always crit objects) and dagger or axe our dmg output is like nothing compared to other classes.
World bosses (inc TA tree bosses). This kinda follows up with inanimate objects since they are mainly seen as objects in the game. It would also be nice if marks would trigger on world bosses. I know a lot of us run staff as main weapon but the way it is set up now our marks are useless.
I would really like to see an option in the keybind section so I can bind a key to toggle show/hide all nametags. I already know there is a keybind (that when you hold it down) it shows player nametags, but I think it would be better if we could toggle them on/off with a keypress.
Reason being, I like to have nametags showing when running around in zergs (so I can see where majority of players are going) but don’t like to see them when in fights. Also, when running around in the world I like to have them on so I can see players in the distance, but hate having to hold a button down or going into the menu to constantly change it depending on what im doing.
Also, it would be good to have an option to tun off showing the nametag of ‘who ever is in front of you’.
Reason being, it’s just annoying.
So we got the jack in the box, hoping christmas has a candy cane axe :>

when everyone has increase speed, no one has increase speed. might as well take all speed increase away.
This might be silliest suggestions out there, but i’m kinda getting tired of people arguing about “opinion of the most players”. Judging by what I see on every GW forum possible (and all the talks with other players in game) It comes painfully obvious what is the situation here. We need actual statics. Not just who logged in and when, and voice of the handful of players who happen to use the forums.
I suggest:
Once in a while (maybe 3 or 6 months or so), a survey hits our in-game message boxes. there would be option in settings to prevent this from happening, if you don’t wish to receive such a message. and on this, there would be simple form of some kind where we can tick boxes of what we have liked the content we have been playing. there might be option to write comments too. these surveys must be answered during a-week-or-two period. after that they vanish, and votes given are counted.
After this we would have data of:
1. how many players logged in during that particular week
2. how many of them didn’t have survey disabled from setting during that time and how many of those who got it didn’t answer it and so, didn’t care of stating their opinion
3. how many players actually did answer to the survey
4. what did people answer the survey, what content they liked best, what least, how they would rate that content, and what content they really DO care about.
With just 5 minutes (or less) of player’s time, this would give developers more accurate information about what goes trough people’s heads as they play the game. Players would have more power to get direct input from the game. It would reach every player, and if they don’t want to be reach, they simply disable the whole thing on their account with one click. You don’t have to take part if you don’t feel like it.
Not all people go to forums, and just “how many people did this and that” doesn’t tell the whole truth about how people felt for the content. I loved the TA update, but I had trouble of getting group to play it with me, so I haven’t played it as much as I wanted. There has also been living story-things I have done purely because of the prices, even when I dislike the actual content. So numbers on those participation percents don’t tell how much I actually liked the content.
And make this all visible somewhere: let us see the percentage. Not accurate numbers if you don’t feel like it, but percentage. This way we don’t need to argue that much anymore, and you guys no for sure what’s going on. It’s a win win.
Yea i too agree with the idea of a title for doing the JP.
I’m +1ing this so hard.
This would be nice. Doesn’t even need to award achievement points with it.
As a suggestion, it would be nice if there were a title for those who have completed all jumping puzzles. There are titles for things less challenging, such as Combat Healer.
I think order change only. Gets too messy when you are looking for your human parents, then all the sudden have charr daddy issues.
I’m a no for race change. That’s just too unrealistic for me. Prefer an elite on another race? Make a character with the race that has that elite!
I’d be fine with order change, but only if you gave up the ability to use any armor you had that was for the other order.
Race is NOT cosmetic. If it was this post would not mention changing race due to RACIAL elite.
I agree 100% as well. I think all the story dungeon paths or at least arah should have soloable versions.
I agree 100% as there should be this option for all dungeons, with rewards scaling down with the difficulty scaling down as well as scaling up for those experienced players looking for a greater challenge. Dungeons need NPCs that can also assist the small groups of 1, 2, 3, or 4 players so as to make this available to even the casual players as well as to let those players go through a “learning curve” so that when they feel they are capable they can then join the more experienced players in the more difficult levels.
This is a very minor thing, but I’d really like to sort by armor tye in the black lion. searching by head, shoulders, torso, etc is fine but what about light, medium heavy. so please add those option to the black lion. please please please.
I suggest making it visible for players what is the size of queue on particular WvW map and what is their place in it.
I think it would give us information on how long probably will we be standing in queue (whether we have time for fast dung or not). seeing how the queues change we could also say if people tend to leave this map or it’s popularity grows which would further inform us if its worth to go there or not.
Simple tags would I guess do the trick:
-no queue
-183 players in queue
-you are 18 in 45 player queue
Still this would lead to spying, almost all servers have a WvW TS/mumble/vent server as well as most guilds.
How about an instanced version of the wvw maps filled with npc’s with no players other than the neutral ones present? It could even function as a brand new quest zone with all the events scattered around encouraging cross server play and friendships.
Also, granted I know in such a case people will just run by the npc’s to get the nodes that they need but those of us going for map completion already do that. Run through the crowd of players, get the poi, die, respawn, repeat.
All good except the actual advertising.. That would cause massive spams and cluttering the system with fake adverts. Better to reward the daily when you open the lfg window.
Also it does actually work very good for the dungeons. Just not really for open world content.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
It’s a bug, we’re trying to find folks on a Sunday to fix it now, worst case we’ll get it fixed Monday.
Thanks everyone!
Then I take back everything I said – I though this was a serious change, and I just didn’t know why I was being punished for completing the tower. Thanks

Yeah, I’m happy to get the daily 20 Empyreal shards, but why am I bothering to go up another 3-4 times a round if I’m not getting anything at all for it?

I like the fragments change but i’m disappointed that they removed all rewards for any subsequent runs, i would have preferred like 2 bags per run. Enough so people who like doing the JP will continue but not enough that it pulls them out of the labrynth
I salvage a lot of rares and having to click accept many many times annoys me. Please make it a feature I can toggle on and off. It it great to have, but not all the time. The change for removing confirm from salvaging greens was amazing, please continue.
