Another lie . Guild wars 1 lasted for 8 years with 0 gear
Progression . Gear treadmil is useless .
Guardian: CD reduction across the board on utilities and some weapon skills, especially 4/5th slots.
Not for buffing guards, but for a gameplay standpoint.
Warrior’s GS skills (2nd to 5th) have 8, 10, 15, 20 sec CD respectively.
Guard’s GS is 10, 15, 20, 30.
War’s Hammer: 12, 12, 20, 30.
Guard’s Hammer: 5, 15, 25, 40.
War’s Axe/Mace: 6, 10, 15, 25.
Guard’s Sword/Focus: 10, 15, 25, 45.
War’s Shouts(FGJ, SiO, OmM, FearMe): 25, 25, 30, 60.
Guardian’s Shouts (SyG, HtL, Retreat, SY): 30, 35, 60, 60.
And so on. This CD disparity is consistent in almost every weaponsets and utilities. And it’s not like Guard’s skills are that stronger than Warrior’s ones to warrant this difference.
Also, warriors have on every weapon set an additional skill (Burst) with a 10 sec CD (ignoring traits and adrenaline gain rate) – so they have another low CD skill compared to guard, and again anything like weak ones (Eviscerate, Earthshaker).
All of this just makes Guardian feel static and boring to play compared to his heavy armor counterpart.
Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.
Yes, i use 5 chars at time. Because REASONS.

Nope. The Warrior is clearly Anets golden child. Going to level mine up soon and shelve my Guardian.
Anet lied (where’s the Manifesto now?)
Blame all the guilds that transferred to your server over the past couple of weeks, not anet.
why didn’t you go to Vabbi then?
SFR got 3 hours que on every single map and we are losing against vizunah a server we have trained to win against for weeks and months.
PVE players in my opinion are the biggest egoistic peoples in this game.
Ok so I understand there is going to be lag from time to time. There will be skill lag everynow and then. Especially in a big Zerg v Zerg. but there is something really wrong now. I get worse skill lag then I ever had and there is no one around me. no zerg nothing. this started to happen before this league non sense. Anet needs to check their servers!!!!!
It’s 10k, not 100k for recipe. Which is still completely impossible short of buying mats off the market. And mats cost so much, it’s much cheaper to just buy the weapon off tp from someone that has last year’s recipe.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
I’m glad there is some movement in this area, and we appear to be moving in a more rewarding direction.
To be honest through, I would prefer that PvE be the best place to get rewards, Ascended items for example. We probably wouldn’t want PvE farmers clogging up the WvW queues.
What? Why would PvErs come to WvW to farm Ascended materials when they can get it 10x faster in PvE contents. I don’t even….
You don’t even, because you didn’t read what he said…He was pointing out that when balancing rewards, he doesn’t want WvW to become a better place to gain rewards than PvE. If WvW was more efficient then people would fill maps to farm rather than play WvW.
This is correct.
I don’t envy the decisions Devon has to make. It is a balancing act that I’m sure he’s all too aware of.
Devon, hang in there, please don’t take our words to heart, truth is WVW is a great fun place to hang out with like minded people, we love it and fight to preserve it as an important part of ‘our side’ of the game.
Don’t take us too serious bro, if the game was terrible, we wouldn’t bother getting excited and defensive about it, if anything, be happy you are in charge of such a powerful part of the game. We are pvp’rs , we fight, that’s what we do lol
Go to Control Options, find “Lock Autotarget”. Select a key you want to use to drop your target – voila.
Anet never, ever think their holiday recipe numbers through. Or their ticket prices.
Highest armor, highest hp, good passive healing, good damage, 2nd best mobility, good CC, good condition removal, really good for combos.
nothing wrong with that at all, seems balanced.
It was 2 vs 20 but its ok we got’em both!
I am pretty sure what you posted is a screenshot of a hotjoin match. You will rarely, if ever, find this issue in TPvP, which I think is a testament to how different these game types are.
Hotjoin is jumping from point to point, bursting down enemies and tagging as many enemies as possible on your way to dragon rank. TPvP is nothing like that. This goes back to a reoccurring theme that I’ve been preaching on the forums for a while: the need for a scoring adjustment in hotjoin.
If hotjoin is meant to be a stepping stone for people to get acclimated to conquest and then have them join me, and others, in solo q or team queue, no wonder solo q is a mess. When you get in matches with players that fight on roads, stand with you on points when it’s uncontested and at the end of the match you see they are rank 30…you have to wonder, “how effective is this game in teaching new players to play the game correctly?”
By my own estimation, I say it fails miserably.
Same clunky animation, slow casting, stops you dead.
Most targets have left its pitiful radius before it gets off.
So will the same quality of life cast on the move change come to Ring of Warding?
Tequatl has some interesting mechanics and other world bosses have also had a little tweak here and there.
And we can probably assume The Claw and The Shatterer will get an update too in the future.
What’s the current problem with Tequatl? Not enough people showing up. Whether that is due to the amount of times it spawns, which could be reduced as well to clutter people up a bit more to do it, or simply due to the population of a server.
But that aside, the biggest problem is probably the reward.
My suggestion is to add Tokens to these fights (Claw and Shatterer only after updated of course). Give x Tokens (Of The Pact for instance) per defeat of the Dragon.
These tokens are then used to unlock certain things: minipets, dyes, armorsets etc. etc.
‘Great another currency, just what we need!’ Well, yea, kind of. Loot is very RNG, and that makes sense as handing out loot would be a little silly, this results in having to invest a little time instead of being handed an Ascended Weapon after each defeat (for instance).
Why do people do dungeons? Because of the rewards. Sure a lot of people enjoy them, but you need more incentive than just fun, no way to go around it. Is there any good loot in any dungeon? Nope. But the reward lies in the Tokens I believe and these are used for really cool, unique things.
Will tokens make people want to kill Teqqie and whatnot more? I believe so. What do you think?
SoS played horribly against Maguuma when we fount them the other week.
We are try-harding now, so bring your a-game.
#magswag
And we still beat you by 76k ponts, we also got 2 new NA guilds from then aswell.
This is a competition you want to lose. The winner gets to be stomped for 7 weeks straight in what will be the least competitive matches in season 1. Why would anybody want that when they will get their closest chance to a balanced match in silver league?
SBI needs to get a high ranked match up to eat their rating and go higher. Easy match ups don’t raise your rank as much as blow outs against top ranked servers. The RNG will decide who takes sixth place, but whichever server it is, the prize is uncompetitive matches for seven weeks.
The current SoS/FA/JQ match is an example of what the average match will look like for seven weeks if SoS places in the gold league. Let the egos play it out, the rest of us just want to enjoy WvW without the stacked zerg meta and the massive population imbalances.
Am i the only one waiting for one of the smart dev’s to come in here and at least give a paying customer an answer why this was done?
...* checks millenium *
Oh wow, EU is just as messed up this week as NA is.
This must be some kind of sociology experiment in real time.
Spoiler Alert: the 2 vastly weaker servers will NOT ever work together to take down the big one unless they’re bribed with achievements & T6 mats for it... (IE: hauling in all the dumb kittens from FG/Queens champtrains to bolster their numbers)
(edited by ilr.9675)
Yeah. It’s a bit of a kick in the gut. Last week my server was against two other servers right about on our same level; the match up was close all week, and playing was actually fun. This week, we’re against two servers waaaaay bigger than ours.
Yuppers, grab your ankles is the new meta.

Devona’s Rest – Forever Outnumbered & Kittened upon by Anet
that’s why they need to implement an incentive
Have to agree.
Anet, take a look at the SoR, SoS, SBI matchup to see why Bloodlust is the worst, most horrible, terrible implementation of a mechanic in gaming history.
SoR outnumbers SoS and SBI combined for most of the day. You must have some of your precious “data” on this match. What does it tell you? It will tell you that SoR has held all three Bloodlust buffs for the vast majority of the match. I would doubt if they have had less than two buffs for more than a few minutes, if ever.
In addition, can you tell how many points SoR has gotten from the +3 stomp? I would bet the score would be quite a bit closer if not for that gift to the stronger server.
Why do you persist in making an already unbalanced match even more unbalanced with bad game mechanics? Why can’t you see the error of this? Please reconsider your position.

Anet you can’t help us with outmanned but enemies outnumbering 3to1 and has all 3 orbs. Dumbest thing.

EDIT: Made a mistake calculating Adrenal healing… Will Post here anyway So others don’t look crazy for quoting me. Fixed in a later post.
Caution maths ahead…
Where h is healing power:
Guardian
—————————————-
Virtue of Resolve 84+ .06h
assuming 150 h = 93 heals/s
adding in 25% duration for Absolute Resolution (20 in virtues)
116.25 heals/s
Selfless Daring (dodge heal) (15 in honor)
129+h
time to dodge
10 seconds w/out vigor
5 seconds w/ vigor
with perma vigor and 150 h
279/5 = 55.8 heals/s
Signet of Resolve
8338+1.25h 40s cooldown
8525.5 w/150 hp
213.1375 heals/s
32s cooldown with Signet Mastery trait (10 in radiance)
266.421875 heals/s
438.471875 total heals/second (with 20 in virtues 15 in honor and 10 in radiance and perma vigor/dodging when avail)
Solved for h
1.25*(84+.06h)(129h)/5+(8338+1.25h)/32=105+.075h+25.8+.2h+260.5625+0.0390625h=
391.3625+0.3140625h heals/second
Warrior
—————————————-
Adrenal health (15 in defensive line)
1 bar) 125+.15h
2 bar) 240+.15h
3 bar) 360+.15h
assuming 150 h
with 3 bars 382.5 heals/s
with 1 bar 147.5 heals/s
Healing Signet
392+.05h
assuming 150 h = 399.5 heals/s
399.5+382.5= 782 heals/sec (with 15 in defensive line and a full adrenaline bar)
Calculating how much healing power a guard will need to equal a warriors healing with signet and adrenal health
782=391.3625+0.3140625h
390.6375=0.3140625h
h=1243.8208955223880597014925373134
Summary:
A guard with 20 in virtues,15 in honor,10 in radiance, perma vigor, dodging every 5 seconds, and 1244 healing power heals for the same amount as a warrior with 15 in defense and the healing signet equipped with full adrenaline.
