Exactly… Take pointers from how hard the hit eles… Don’t do it again. Plus nades are no where near OP in any form so l2p and try different builds.

I don’t want to come off sounding like a kitten… But that was entirely TL;DR after the first 3 lines.

Not everyone uses grenades and even if everyone did it wouldn’t mean they were OP. They’re just one of our most versatile kits and not locked into a certain fighting range for max dmg.

Also I personally laugh at grenades fear me and my SD!!!

Specifically, please nerf grenades. They are ruining the class’s skill diversity because they are literally the only weapon worth using and pretty much all the traits are balanced around them. Bombs, rifles, flamethrowers, etc. are all useless because the traits supporting them are super weak because they have to be, or they end up becoming super OP when used with grenades.

Give me an effing break. The flamethrower may not be the maximum dps setup, but it has a ton of utility in both World vs. World and structured PvP. And it still comes in handy during things like Dredge Fractal and Shoggroth (Arah path 1) where you need to just face tank something, which is not something you can do with the grenade kit.

Pretty much every other weapon has a weak auto-attack with multiple spammable cooldowns (i.e. rifle with 3 burst damage skills, bomb kit with 3 pulsing utility AOEs)

The bomb kit has a better scaling auto attack than the grenade kit does, so I’m not sure how what you’re saying here makes sense either.

Modified Ammo was a good step in this direction (before they made it just another lolgrenade buff) but the boost given was too small.

Modified Ammo was a buff for every kit in this game, including the bomb kit that applies bleeding (Sharpshooter), vulnerability, burning, confusion, blind, crippled, and immobilized—most of which can be maintained integrating the rifle with Sitting Duck in your build.

It would be nice to see a community built list that shows specs rated top>down for each class and role in all areas of play. This kind of feedback is really helpful for our team.

Was just about to say what would we do even if all classes were in the same tier? This says nothing about how specific builds like Power Ranger or DPS Guadian perform.

Why are there no polls in this forum btw? I hardly belive it is too difficult to code.

Since devs seem to gather feedback for there next big patch I would like to offer my input on the classes I mainly play.

Engi:

  • needs more interaction with gadgets badly
  • new heal skills suffers because hard to use in a build and also have enough condi removal in it
  • lack of stunbreakers because utility slots are filled with kits (which are necessary to stay competitive in combat)
  • weak pistol autoattack
  • grenade kit (forced into 30 explosives always) = toolkit > bombkit > flamethrower = elixir gun

Ranger:

  • power builds still too weak mainly due to lack of condi removal in a 30/30/… build
  • many useless pet traits
  • pets still stop animations of there f2 and go full cooldown
  • many missplaced traits for traps
  • new heal skill is just bad 95% of the time

Guardian:

  • new heal skill is too weak in 5on5 -> higher stats or instant like all meditations
  • not a guardian thing but we still lack a visual effect for stability, the visually most important boon in the game

Warrior:

  • nerfs for healing signet if any should happen in 1-2% steps per patch because it is very close to being balanced

The only decent condi removal we have is healing turret and elixir gun 5. That means every 15-20 seconds we have 3 condi removals IF we are running elixir gun. Wasting a utility slot on elixir C is not even an option as to do so we have to drop either a kit or a stun breaker in every aspect of the game. So no I do not think our condition removals are in a good place in comparison to other classes, I would say we actually have the worst condition removal IN the game as it currently stands. Unless you run elixirs you have crap for condi removal hands downs.
Take warrior for example 3 condi’s removed almost every 10 seconds on an ability they are GUARANTEED to use.
Necro FULL condi cleanse every 30 seconds and 2 condi transfers on the 2 most commonly used weapon sets.
Theif a heal on a 20 second CD that removes all damaging condi’s as well as steaths them. And more condi removal available with specific builds.

So people asking for more condi removal are kitten well on point in my opinion, taking med kit even with eg is 2 condi removal every 15 seconds while switching between 2 kits one of which is clunky and only works if your not immobilized.

I don’t see any achievements that go the opposite way. Not a single one that can be almost 95% completed doing nothing but PvP and then requires an enormous grueling amount of PvE to grind out the last 5%, maybe, if they get lucky and wait for perfect conditions for months while doing something they don’t enjoy.

Except that that’s the exact situation for every WvW-only player who wants a legendary.

I didn’t like completing the WvW maps either, particularly Borderlands 2 and 3, but I did it, and so did lots of other people. And you know what? Looking back, it wasn’t so bad. The worst part was the waiting. I had more actual trouble completing maps like Malchor’s and certain vistas.

You want that star by your name? Well, you’ve got to earn it. Anyway, doing things you don’t want to do is good for you. Builds character.

No, no, no. That would be terrible in my opinion. What about those on the ourskits? They could just have range go on the outskirts and spam stuff into the areas that are affected. This “Area” would have to be like 3-600 range MORE than the actual battle

Plus i think it ruins the whole immersion in the game that is built around being fluid, fast paced and such.

My bunker doesn’t use grenades or bombs. SD builds don’t use grenades or bombs, but they aren’t tPvP ready generally.

Just because you can’t make/use a SD build well doesn’t mean someone else can’t either. I’ll take my SD build over anything else any day.

I hate the fact that to finish world completion you have to go through WvW I never go in there cause its a free for all with people just beating on others to bully them like PvP….A Game is not gun when people just bully each other for no reason and with PvP and WvW in MMO like games that’s all they are and now QW2 forces people to go in and play the Massive bullying game that is WvW just to get world Completion. After I finish the PvE I think I won’t even think about world completion cause I refuse to be bullied in game when I try and get the things I need to complete the Maps. Bad Idea Anet Bad bad idea.

I hate the fact that as a WvW player I need to craft and pve to get ascended gear. PvE is nothing but a boring champ train and full of elitest PvErs who tell you how you should play. Its bad enough other MMOs force you to raid with your guild to get gear but now GW2 forces you to run with random people in queensdale to get you materials.

see what I did there op? Yeah and to let you know WvW players need to pve more often then pve players need to wvw.

For example: Once you made something once from the mystic forge, don’t reset the items in each slot. Make it possible to forge again using the same materials. It’s excruciating to press everything 4 times to make superior siege weapons, lodestones, and upgrading t5 mats.

Ok I skimped through it because that was a hard read, no bullet points, no tl;dr, no bold lines…nothing, just a bald ol’ imposing wall of text. So instead I will comment what I kinda overread and what tends to be the most usual complains:

This game is not p2w. As a guy who has played WoW, Rohan, Aion, 2moon, among many other monthly subscription or p2w games I can tell you this is NOT a p2w game. I have spent money but never have I had the need to do so if I dont wish to. Gold can be converted to gems and if you play the game regularly gold is not a problem. My biggest issue with monthly subscription is the following; when you stop paying, they ransom you or otherwise it is like you never got the game. Here, you buy, you play till the end of times.

Movement settings; yes, I like being lazy and moving around with the mouse. Sure I would like it, but if you are judging a game based on that, I dont think the problem is the game……

2 days is NOT enough to judge ANY game. Join a guild, find friends, go to populated servers and maps, immerse yourself, and above all: GET OUT OF THE FORUMS! . This place is filled with a very vocal minority that complains for everything, and by everything I mean everything, even when they introduce good stuff. It will quickly suck out the fun off you and make you believe the game is not as good as it is.

tl;dr Keep playing, get off the forums, learn to use key to move, game is free after purchase and not a p2w. Join a guild and make friends, you will soon realize why this is the best MMO out there.

Superior Skill Points - For the new skills

So we saw that the new skills will cost 25 skill points, however I think there should be a different way of doing it, more exciting and challening. Skill Points do not mean anything now and most people have piles of them lying, so I think there should be points of higher tier called Superior (or w/e) Skill Points. These type of SP will have to be collected by doing special mini dungeons, bosses, event chains, scavenger hunts. Activities, for short. This will be more exciting way of getting them. The skills could cost from 1-5 depending on their tier (ex. 1 for healing, 2-3-4 for Utility, 5 for elite)

The current skill system makes sense and works, so let’s not muck it up unnecessarily.

221 hours over 1,581 days of bank space/hot pve/lion’s arch afk and some wvw.

Conclussion:
responding to your discussion attempt is futile because you obviously pay 0 attention on what is being written on these forums and anyone who keeps popping up these threads with the same topics being talked about all the time should seriously consider to stop piling them up.

I once counted the amount of mount related threads there was.
I found over 200. And of course, there has been more, since most of them have been deleted.
Why do people keep making new threads about the same dead horse? It’s not that hard to go to google and use the “site:” parameter.

Well, I’m still against mounts. Tyria just isn’t tyria if people zip past you riding something ridiculous. Dolyaks are the only mounts that I could perhaps learn to accept, but we all know that is not what the mount lovers want. They generally want speed boosting mounts or fancy looking mounts. I personally don’t want any mounts that do not fit the lore. And I don’t want any forced connection either. Like, “Oh the Necrid Horsemen just visited to give few horses that were beaten to death at the forums. Wanna go for a ride?”

Of course, Gummy’s idea has it’s merits, but I’m sure some would feel that having others disable your cosmetic wonder from their screens defeats the purpose. While others would feel that pandering to both sides is the worst thing you could possibly do.
Well, it’s still the second best solution there is. Best being just staying true to the lore and not forcing mounts.

People who can argue often offer a good and meaningful conversation about the subject.
People who can’t tend to call the opponent troll, scream something utterly incomprehensible
and finally result to personal insults.

Hard to believe there are people who embrace the stripping away of their freedom, but of course, it’s usually not THEIR freedom at stake, but someone else’s.

“Freedom”? Oh, please. You make the champion train sound like a victim march.

When people who kill champions outside of the zerg are no longer subject to public shaming for being “selfish” and “rude”, I’ll be willing to consider their “freedom” as an actual topic of debate.

1. I find micro-transactions a legitimate way to finance their game and I’ve never had the feeling they are focusing on the CS more than on the game content itself. And if they are as stubborn as you say, it will likely stay this way. I’ve played f2p and p2p games and this model is by far my favourite.

2. In general you seem to like “traditional” MMOs more. If Anet would change all your suggestions the Game wouldn’t really have any USP anymore. There are things that I don’t like about GW2 but the things you mentioned happen to be parts of the game I actually like or at least don’t mind.

Mounts most likely wouldn’t do any harm. But my gf always says she would like to have mounts rather than waypoints, too. But just as Mini-Pets, I don’t see the point having one unless I could fly and see Tyria from above. After having seen all from above I’d be back to waypoints though as I do prefere them over running (riding) 5 Minutes to place X. Giving the people the option is viable though.

If mounts were to be implemented they shouldn’t be faster than my running pace and should be used as a goldsink through feeding for example.

Discussing the holy trinity is rather pointless as that is one of the major parts of the game, no matter if you like it or don’t. Still IMO why people even think about discussing the topic holy trinity isn’t because they want to play a certain role but because there aren’t enough viable/ comparable builds per class.

If you want to be effective there’s usually one or two main builds to choose from, which you can slightly adjust. If you want to play the build you like you may actually have a hard time.

No matter how quests are implemented most often they’ll be boring if they take too long to accomplish. Mainly also due to lack of variety. I like not having to search for the NPCs though and the various ways of finishing most quests. I never really read the NPC clickthroughs anyway. So for my “playstyle” it’s much nicer.

3. That’s an often discussed point and I agree with you that some parts of the game need a stronger focuse and a slight more developing time. Nowadays everything has to be fast .. games, movies, cars. Seems to be a modern way of life which actually isn’t enjoyable. Just leads to burn-outs.

I recommend the Engineer. It’s got more build variety, more versatility, more team support, aoe, & lots of mobility.

They do have access to stealth and are quite good for wvw roaming as well. There’s also the rifle/SD build that specializes in single target burst damage. And if the new heal skill rumors are true, might be getting a small buff.

While Engi does have a limited range of weapons, thief’s isn’t much more diverse. Thief has sword, pistol, dagger. Engi has pistol, rifle, shield. The thief’s edge comes in having a few more permutations, but Engi comes away with all the kits for a much greater range of weapon skills.

An MMO can be a bit like a beautifull woman. Perfect in a lot of ways…but that little thing (her laugh for example) can annoy you so much that it takes the upper hand in your thougtprocess.

Same applies to this game. Its amazing in a lot of ways and its easy to overlook that once you find something that annoys you. During those moments its good to step back and think about how good this game actually is.

An MMO will never be perfect, but so far its the best MMO ive ever played.

In fact, if you increase the toughness of bosses and decrease vitality, that indirectly buffs condition damage and nerfs direct damage.

Perma-vigor was nerfed. You now need one more trait to achieve it, so many people who played with it, will now not have it anymore. Still; 50% uptime isn’t that bad.

Perma-swiftness was quality-of-life buffed. It’s extremely annoying to have to be hammering some key almost constantly while walking from A to B (unless you’re using medkit). Now you can actually concentrate more on the walking/running itself and still have swiftness up permanently. And seriously… I don’t remember that I EVER got swiftness stripped off of me. So I call the argument “we might lose 9 seconds of swiftness instead of just 4” invalid. And even if… holy kitten, seriously? Like that would be such a big deal.
