This topic has (as noted above) come up multiple times lately, and I have to admit I don’t understand your reasoning. If people can be in two guilds and choose to represent the other one rather than yours most of the time, what makes you think they’d even be in your guild instead of the other one if you forced them to choose?

Alliance chat wouldn’t do a thing for me, since my two guilds are made up from people with totally different interests, many of which don’t even speak the same language and wouldn’t be able to communicate on an alliance chat. I’m glad ANet has given me the chance to be a part of both, since I value both communities and have a lot of friends in both.

Why do you want to take that choice away from me and force me to stick with one group of friends or the other instead of being friends with (and playing with) both? Btw, both guilds are in the 20-50 member range, and slowly but steadily growing just from people we get to know while playing the game. We wouldn’t want guild members that get lured away by bigger, better guild buffs instead of true community anyway.

just run solder runes and shouts, or cleansing ire you should be good (over 1 year of only warrior played).

The armor for badges in WvW is pretty useless. I’m sure everyone agrees with this due to the fact you can’t salvage runes off of it without a salvage extractor which is at least 3x as expensive as just buying another rune completely.

So suggestion;

Remove the gold price for the WvW Armor; add a “WvW maps only” requirement to it.

Add a trader for badges that supply a “WvW version” of EVERY rune, that can ONLY be brought with badges. – No gold.

You’re dumb. You’ll die, and you’ll leave a dumb corpse.

It’s indicative a lot of things in wvw. Bascially nobody cares about being kittened as long as they are the ones doing the kittening. Just like how when they blob, it’s a skill group, and when they get blobbed, it’s a bunch of mindless zombies that they would easily beat had they not been playing with their cat on the keyboard.

lol. Who plays WvW for ppt? Go play Risk if you want an objective based game.
Stop worrying about White Swords n stuff. Hit up your closest Enemy Commander. Ask for some fights. Fight said fights. ENJOY GUILD WARS 2. Revel in the lag, loot bags and the feeling of power over said enemy commander when you /sit on his/her corpse.

If you don’t play for PPT at all, there is a great map for you called EotM. Try it.

As for WvW, it is, and always has been, a combination of PPT, open field fights, and small roaming groups.

The name of the game is Guild Wars 2. Not Blob wars 2. This update allows small guilds to run together effectively. If things become too K-train-ish I’m sure the devs can alter upgrades, add new things like those siege disables, and altogether just adapt the change for the best.

Well, we’re playing Karma-Train Wars 2 atm…

If that is all your doing your feeding points to the other side. Your more of a blight to your world then a boon. Because one wipe will be on the lines of holding a tower for 2 ticks and the timely re-flips for the tick would be a joke and make all your work mean NOTHING.

It really comes down to this:

if you want offense with little thought to defense, no white swords is a good idea.

If you want a balance of offense and defense, white swords is a must.

No not at all. If you want stagnate matches you keep the white sword because small groups CANT take upgraded towers they cant even touch T2 keeps. White swords means you keep EVERYTHING all the time and you cant take any thing.

No white swords means you NEED to def things and not let the game def things for you. It keeps the week from becoming a passive match.

Can you honestly tell me that you with a group of 4 or less has taken a T3 tower NE or NW from that teams bl? If so it must of been off time where there simply was no one on.

THAT is how you need to look at the white swords. DO YOU want a wvw where you can hold something forever yet your not able to take any thing OR do you want be able to take something but at the prices of being able to lose something?

I was sceptical of removal of white swords. I am now convinced it was a good thing. While losing structures to ninjas is frustrating, it has given smaller guilds the opportunity to make a difference in WvW.

However, despite scouting being necessary now in WvW they get absolutely no rewards for scouting. Admittedly it is difficult to introduce a system where scouts could be clearly identified and rewarded. How about introducing scanners that can be planted similar to wards in games like League of Legends.

I like zergs, I’m sorry. I just like the way they move.

My computer doesn’t lag much, so my view is prob better than average. It can be amazing as a ranged player, I get a great view of the action sometimes.

one reason I am not support of major changes to the map. The zerg movement is really intricate.

I’m sure all of us know about choke points and high ground where they jump down on you or portal bomb you by now.

I have fun without loot so no idea what this topic is about. Ok loot is not that good as in pve but go play wvw for the fights and not just the drops.

One other thing I think may help overall balance in wvw is to make it so that waypoints don’t become contested just because someone tapped the door with a sword once or twice…why not make it so that it only becomes contested when it gets hit with siege?

The lack of swords promotes smaller scale groups to be able to attack objectives without having a huge blob rain down on them, unless the enemy sets scouts in locations to defend. Any server who has a lot of dedicated wvw’ers already know the importance of scouts, and not waiting on swords to pop, due to many groups attacking a location and 30seconds being in it by the time a sizeable force is set to respond, unless a scout calls over voice comms the enemy, #, and if the enemy is dedicated with siege or not. (Also those scouting do know how to divert most the attacks by use of siege to defend with.)

Now what the swords removal does is havoc groups who run 5-10 deep, will have a chance to attack a location which has no scouts and not have a group of 30-40 run in on them. So it is promoting smaller groups (most refer to as havoc.) into running around on maps, and giving them more of a chance to get into a tower/keep if the enemy doesn’t set scouts.

As for finishers, you have a free one by default. (So it doesn’t force people to buy one.) You really just buy them if you don’t want the standard finisher. (Or you can earn them in game.)

As for PPK, this is something which interests me. I am curious to find out if PPK includes counting those who alt+f4 once downed.

Hear ppl defend this by saying its to counter bunkers. Then why the toughness? bunkers dont do dmg. All it does is give power builds a hard time.

There is something that I don’t understand. Condi/Toughness/Vitality is a PvE/WvW gear set.

Bunker is a tPvP role.

Did anet add a Dire amulet in PvP? Or does a bunker have any use in WvW now? Or are you just dying to Dire build are wanted to cry about it in the forums?

Every build have a counter. Dire build don’t have much precision so the amount of condition they can put on you is limited. A build with just a bit of condi removal and Dire build become useless. They won’t kill you and you won’t kill them. That’s why it’s called a cheesy build and not a lot of ppl use them. They are just boring to play, but you can beat them if you know how.

Sorry you guys have to deal with so many complaints about simply trying something to see the real effects it will have. Every single person that actually plays wvw daily that I’ve talked to is excited about this and is looking forward to the change…any change really. Of course people have concerns about how this could potentially go wrong. But let’s see how it actually plays out and take it from there.

I am personally concerned that 1 specific server that plays the PPT game like it’s life or death will use the points per kill as a reason to absolutely never fight anyone, as opposed to the current situation in which they will actually fight once or twice a week. I envision them having full map blobs sitting inside towers surrounded by more AC’s than people for days on end.

The lack of white swords will reward servers that have people willing to scout. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing. However, it would be nice (regardless of any potential rule changes) for scouts to be rewarded.

Scouting is lonely and boring, and the only current reward for scouting is pride and the occasional compliment or thank you from fellow players. People on every server take useless sentry points because there is a tiny reward for doing so. If Anet is going to emphasize scouting, they should reward it.

Lol at all the people that are being over dramatic about this. It’s a test. “Temporary rule changes.” It doesn’t mean it’s permanent. Relax. If enough people hate the removal of white swords, which I’m pretty sure just about everyone will, they won’t go through with the change. I’m honestly not that concerned as I really don’t think any of the serious WvW community would want this change. Just use the week of the test to ktrain and relax until it’s over with. One week of total chaos and disorganization isn’t the end of the world (v world).

Please it is boring and annoying

Face a condi necro and you die in < 15sec. And no offense but you never played soloQ or teamQ in top 1000 so I guess you do not really face good people. Engi has a very hard time vs some classes and good player know how do handle him.

Sure the engi is very strong at the moment, but face a bleeding/survival ranger, any necro, a good ele or a condi warrior and say again that the engi is op.

This was a good change..
There is no skill cap for buffing pre-match..You either have an ele or you don’t.
But necromancers were hurt too much. The 25% the gentleman is asking is not that bad.
