It’s okay this living content crap can be completed in an hour with your eyes closed and serves no real purpose to the greater good or progressing/enriching the gameplay of GW2 anyways.

Oh dear! Trust me, we do not ignore exploit reports. Players have made us aware of some critical issues over the years. We’re very alert to (and thankful for) reports of exploits, cheats, and all that sort of stuff that negatively impacts other players and player reports helps us greatly.
We’re working on getting a better system in place to report exploits and cheats. In the meantime, you can report (and even include names and a screenshot or two) to this email address: Exploits@Arena.Net. Team members review received emails just about daily. I don’t think you’ll necessarily get a response, but we DO appreciate the reports and will review them carefully.
A few words to the wise:
- Report with care. For example, none of those “We lost, clearly they’re exploiting” reports.
- There’s no need to send a lot of screenshots unless they’re needed to tell the full story.
- If you see a group of exploiters or cheaters, or an individual person engaging in nefarious activities, you can send the date, time, timezone, map, and name and save yourself the trouble of the screenshot, if you desire.
- Again, if you know of a genuine cheat or exploit, we want to hear from you.
- And please NEVER test a potential cheat or exploit. Just send it along and keep your account pristine!
And just to clarify – you do consider (especially repeated) recruit-and-dump to be exploiting, correct?
Honest question. Honest answer: I don’t know. Personally I have an opinion, but from a company perspective, there are wiser people who would know more about this than I do. I would submit a detailed (but polite) report and let the team review and determine the best course of this one. Sorry, I’m not passing the buck, I just don’t know the fine-grained answer to this one.

Man, why does everybody talk in abbreviations all the time in this game. Sorry but what the heck is PTR?
All I want for christmas GW2’s birthday is an in depth and useful pet system for my ranger.

The consensus on the Elementalist forums is that Arenanet deliberately wants them to be outclassed by everything.
Rangers and engies would like a word with you.
The game has too many CCs, the last balance patch helped but I still feel forced to bring stability no matter what the build, and some classes have so little access to it…
There are no skills in GW2 that are any better/worse than others.
This is the outcome of the lower number of skills put into the game; with too many skills there is no balance, but with the system currently there is 100% balance.
AHA.
…wait, you’re serious?
Resident Thief
Well, asura or sylvari elites are much better than norn’s that’s for sure.
Maybe the items team is too busy cranking out RNG ticket walled skins to fix old bugs :P
Downed. Not death.
A working Engineer class would be amazing.
I’d find it more bearable if I didn’t feel like I was wearing white gear, considering the damage output. Surely it can’t just be the crappy breather(s)?
1. Lack of “fun” drops. Nothing really epic or shiny really drops. Precursores are pretty much it…but…I’ll never see one. The loot in general just feels very boring compared to other games.
2. PvP balance that screws up PvE builds. Feels like Deja Vu of early GW1.
3. Culling. It’s annoying…especially in PvE.
I need a good guild. Q_Q
Two words: Ham… mer
I’d just like to point out that staff guardians can bring incredible value to the group. Line of warding is excellent for the running that most groups do in dungeons plus a speed buff. Empower is great for raising the overall DPS of your group and with Altruistic healing it acts as a second huge heal by itself with each tick. You can often ignore your own heal skill!
Do you know what else is great for running? Swiftness, and evades. Oh, but staff can do swiftness! Well I’m pretty sure your warriors and mesmers can give group swiftness too so there’s no point. Line of warding, why would you bother with that?
Do you know also how to raise group DPS? Warriors going FGJ and the mesmer doubling the might with their signet. Unless you’re immediately switching the staff out (and I mean actually swapping by inventory, not just to your secondary weapon set), empower is trash and the staff is an awful weapon swap since it does terrible DPS.
There are also any number of situations where you just have to range stuff down and for that, scepters are invaluable not to mention in the immobilize. Dredge fractal boss anyone?
Okay, so in that case you have the scepter in your inventory. Greatsword and sword+focus are your best DPS weapons so you just bring in the scepter quickly for when range is 100% necessary, every other case you just melee.
Anyone who says that staff or scepter on a guardian is bad has a lot to learn. And if they say they don’t have anything more to learn….well then you can figure out whether you want to have that kind of guy in your group at all.
I’ve played my guardian for hundreds of hours. You basically do not need staff ever, and scepter is just for fringe cases where melee is actually punished by pretty much instant death.
And you’re right, having a guard in your group who knows their class well is totally not the kinda guy you want in a group.
See here’s the problem. You’re entitled to your own opinions. That’s cool. No one is forcing you to run what you don’t want. The problem comes when you presume that your knowledge is absolute.
That’s arrogance. And it’s ok to show it in the forums cause it doesn’t affect me. If I see a hint of that arrogance in my party, it’s kick time.
wheres the anet mods when your need them? this post probably has violated the forum guidelines. Delete this….

Show me this inflation you speak of.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/24358
There has been a massive drop in sell listings a relatively stable amount of buy listings and thus a massive rise in price.
When you nerf the kitten out of the ability to farm materials and then do not nerf one dungeon speed run which pumps gold galore into the economy, then you get inflated prices.
Is CoF totally to blame for rising prices? Ofc it isn’t.
Is everything inflated out of whack? Ofc it isn’t.
Does it make any sense whatsoever to nerf the heck out of pretty much every farm in the game and leave the biggest gold farm of them all totally untouched? Ofc it doesn’t.
Does the disparity between CoF and pretty much everything else make any sense? Ofc it doesn’t.
Does “oh people will just move onto something else” hold as an argument in any way, shape or form? Ofc it doesn’t.
I have zero issue with people running CoF and zero issue with people trying to be as “gold effective per hour”. I do the same. But it seems to me that there is something fundamentally wrong with the current set up.
invest in player generated content. Players who can create = free labor when they have the right tools. More workers = more content for potentially no cost. Moderate rewards at the end of said content, build more dungeons and PvE.
Bears are bad because they have nothing good about them.
Tankier? No Drakes for that matter are tankier than Bears, a lot of health does nothing if you have no toughness to back it up.
Bad dps after the patch for pets? Cats were the top dps before the patch and birds just had good burst. Cats lost 50% of the direct damage off Maul but its on a 20 sec CD. Cats still do awesome dps, birds got neutered so they aren’t even good for burst anymore. Its really 3 options, Cats for ST DPS, Drakes for AoE DPS, Canine/Spiders for CC.
LB is still a bad weapon option but thats not the point of this post.

The moment he starts using scepter or staff is when you boot or if it’s not your party, you leave. I don’t ever run with trash like that.
Blanket statements like this are bad. Staff is great for running in TA. Scepter is fine for when you must range instead of melee. You’re ignorant if you kick immediately when seeing staff/scepter on guard.

A group of 1 engineer, 3 rangers and 1 mesmer beat DnT’s record kill :
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1ho102/new_world_record_lupi_in_41_sec/That sounds impressive. I bet they would have done it even faster if they had at least one warrior to stack the banner buffs on too.
Regardless, even if it supports my contention, Lupicus is a pretty bad point of comparison for DPS tests because he is just burst and reflect, so it favors just stacking mesmers and bursty classes like engineers and rangers, and disfavors classes with more “steady” DPS. Hell, most of the “DPS” in Lupicus fights comes from Lupicus killing himself with reflected projectiles.
So you barely even read before you reply. I wonder how many factors you choose to ignore and and omit in your excel spreadsheets.
Clippy is a Guardian. He is there to carry people in Excel like in Guild Wars 2 so it should be fine.
Hint: look up a few posts if you don’t get it.
My colleagues asked me why I am facepalming more than usual today
Wait till you read that next post.

Using a Vanity pet is fine…. I do it all that all the time with my EB Timber Wolf…
The problem here was people choosing bear b/c they got in the habit of the Crutch.
AKA: a F.O.O.S.
Please see this Video to understand exactly what I mean by that:

Ahh. Extra Credits. A series that all people who post in the forums with ‘suggestions’ should really, really watch before they do.
Yes. Choosing a bear all the time is not necessarily desirable. I’m not saying it is. But the tone of the thread is quite insulting to those that do. It’s better to tell them why they shouldn’t run one than insult them for doing so. And maybe listen to why they run it while we’re at it.
That’s all I was trying to say.
Main: Caeimhe – Sylvari Ranger
Alts: Charr Guardian, Asura Elementalist, Human Thief, Norn Necromancer
My ranger was my first to get to level 80 but I find that all of my other classes are better to play with …. guardian is better in wvw and dungeons…ele is better in wvw, in dungeons, for dps, for healing, running in groups….necro is better in wvw and dungeons and overall, mesmer is better, well you get the point….haven’t played thief and warrior. I want to play my ranger but she just seems to not be as good as my others at anything, anywhere.
Can anyone tell me where the ranger is better than the other classes?
1. Lack of lore
2. Lack of lore
3. Lack of lore
And please don’t give me that “go talk to every NPC” angle. Best you get that way is two lines of dialogue and off you go. I am talking about meaningful lore, the kind that builds a back-story and sets you on the move, hunting for pieces of story to put together and discover ancient mysteries or fragments of important history.
This is such a beautifully crafted world and it looks amazing but I often find myself wanting more substance to it. Place a description next to a point of interest, make a connection between POI, establish a network of information between all these great areas the game has. Tell me some great hero died tens of years ago on top of that mountain I go exploring, tell me this war between two great lords took place near the village I’m exploring, give me a bit of history about lords, factions, races, conflicts.
Gonna give an example here, Star Wars: The Old Republic. There, you have these codex entries where they do exactly that, build the lore for the universe. They tell you about the planets and the questing areas, about the beasts you encounter, about the balance of power and so on.
All these things would be optional, so people who don’t feel like reading won’t have to. But you could give the lore hounds something to do, you could also tie in new achievements, collectibles, activities etc.
Whenever you see any streaming interviews or updates by Anet, it always seems to be focused on WvW or PvP. The recent major nerf to rangers was done because they are too strong in PvP, so those in PvE got hit hard (no, I don’t run a ranger, just the easiest example).
The recent state of the game on Twitch glossed over PvE, as will the upcoming discussion. The upcoming one is on WvW.
Other than the Living Story content (which contains major WvW and PvP changes) it seems like everything is focused away from PvE. Any class balancing seems to be geared away from PvE as well.
I don’t have a problem with WvW or PvP, but Anet, if you are going to change things to fit that, please separate them from PvE so we who prefer it, can play OUR game, without worrying about our professions or playstyle. I went from other games that did worldwide PvP to GW2. You say you want to make it so that we can play together. That we don’t need to compete with each other unless we want to. Then you go and focus so much on the PvP/WvW/esports idea that you force us into builds and actions that suit THEM, rather than us.
If this game is going to go to PvP/WvW while forgetting PvE, many of us are going to be looking in other directions. And that is sad, because it is such a great game.
Compared to my ranger, necromancer is OP. Then again, compared to my ranger. . . .
