I was doing some research, and discovered that there are Precursors being sold for super cheap on the TP as I type! The image I’m attaching will shatter the mythos of Precursors being too expensive. These Precursors aren’t 2,000 Gold. Or 1,500 Gold. Or even 1,000 Gold. Amazingly, the price is between 90 to 115 Gold!!! How exactly did these deals go unnoticed for so long?
Because no one uses torches. And the vast majority of people won’t fight in the water unless necessary and who wants to spend their time showing off a legendary underwater?
It’s funny seeing you people put this article down, because I read it and found myself nodding my head to a lot of it.
Like, “yeah, I know that feeling”. “Yup, that’s what I saw too”. “Hey, if I was willing to pay a sub fee for a game, yeah I would be going there too”…. and much more. That article was spot on, and a nice fresh change from the sort of material that Massively usually puts out.
This game was marketed as a no-grind game (because Anet doesn’t make grindy games), with horizontal progression for cosmetic rewards as end game. I bought into that hype and I’m not at all happy with the direction this game has taken since then. Everything, absolutely everything has gotten more grind as time goes by, and we’re still stuck with either RNG your mats away to obtain a precursor, pull out your credit card, or grind your face off.
If anything I’m surprised it has taken this long for this sort of article to be written, but then, most of the online gaming websites depend on access to the developers and publishers for their material and they don’t want to offend the source of their material.
Is mistfire wolf reportable?
I tried to, but got banned myself instead.
Too little too late, Regina.
You’re late.
Anet always goes for the easy way out.
They dont even have decent enemy patterns and AI till now.
Like with gw1? The game is dead, but nowhere near as dead as gw2 since launch.
Ohhh, was about time. Now all of you guys can finally get back on earth and realise it’s anet we’re talking about. They don’t give a kitten about us and it’s been clear to me since all the stealth changes. Whenever I read all the pathetic “oh but they care about us, they’re making slim changes and there will be new dungeons” I wanted to cringe.
Time to wake up.
At least now it’s clear. Sticky this thread, bookmark it so you can use it whenever someone stumbles upon the trashcan and starts demanding for stuff to be done left and right.
I can’t wait for another good mmo to come out so I can leave this cesspool.
I’m disgusted.
harharhar got rekt by condi spec when running power…. bet it was a power bunker or less bursty power spec then….
The problem is that conditionspecs can be bunkers and tanky as hell but still do as much dps as a full spec zerker with no survival. It’s simple – it takes one stat to go full out condition and three stats to go power.
Nothing changes with the dire stat, perplex runes, or +40% condi food…so the same face rollers will still be the dominate meta.
Strongest Roamer is a tie between thief and mesmer
Most numerous buffs: Ranger, but still a kitten class in WvW
Best buff: Mesmer. Stacking Torment on the scepter auto attack is ridiculously good

And how would you suggest they fix it?
If it is so easy you would have a couple of examples on how to fix it, right?
- Balance the manpower of teams (server): https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Proposal-Enforced-Player-Balance
- Shutdown (freeze) maps when there aren’t enough player in a match to play on all these maps
- Nerf coverage, such that the incentive to decide a match by “Buring down their Houses while they are sleeping” is reduced. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Nerf-the-domination-of-Coverage
- Do not make matches 24/7, but, e.g. make time-sliced matches https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/wuv/wuv/Nerf-the-domination-of-Coverage/3462970 (point 4)
- Reduce the map-capacity, and by that increase the man-power balance for lower populated worlds
- …
The forum is full of proposals, just nothing is changed in the game.

I’m over 1200 in rank and got about 3 ascended chest I believe. So for me it’s 1/400
RNG FTW! Rewards people for their “skills/effort”
there is your problem …. zerker gear dont work in wvw^^
Say that to thieves…
WvW Rank 3800 (Platinum Veteran) – PvP Rank 69 (Shark) – 25,9k Achievment Points
Mërcenaries [Sold] – Ferguson’s Crossing
I have 2 levels 80s.. one is a guard, the other a ranger.. Both seem to get hit like little girls in WvW.. Their gear isn’t horrible per say.. The 80’s have older ear from like a year ago I guess is the last time I played.. Still, I can’t really compete at all in wvw.. I might as well be running around dressed up in papermache. The combat log shows me taking 2k 3k 5k 9k hits..? Im dishing out a measly 800dmg on my 80s, ranger with the odd 1200 dmg spike…. So I thought my classes were perhaps kitten and just tried a low level thief… Wow kitten d.. I think my highest hit was around 180dmg lol…
I thought this game wasn’t all about gear? Now its all about gear? Whats the deal?

Is it only me that took pride in being good with the warrior back in the day? I mean when all you could do was go full out damage and hope that you could kill your opponent before you died. I don’t like being called OP whenever I kill someone. I’d rather play an underpowered class.
Good lord, all the qq, it’s ok though, you’ll still be miles above ranger
point 1: it is a bow. A bow shoots arrows. Want something else? get a musket or something, oh wait, rangers cant get those.
point 2: see point 1
point 3 : exploding trick arrows and flaming arrows of fiery death are already taken by other professions.

kitten, now I’m imagining how awesome it would look if rapid fire shot flaming arrows, or if barrage was like an arrow firestorm. Or if point blank shot were to shoot some kind of floral breeze at the enemy or some shiz. I can dream kitten.
I believe what you’re thinking of is what’s known in the GW2 vernacular as a “Warrior”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Combustive_Shot
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fan_of_Fire
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Smoldering_ArrowRangers can only shoot arrows really far, shoot a bunch of arrows really fast, or shoot an arrow really hard; all in the same stance. It not like the class has access to Nature Magic or anything…
More than likely he’s a GW1 vet who doesn’t understand how 250 years of lore made rangers forget how to use a lot of their skills (who ANet gave quite a few of to warriors):

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Ignite_Arrows
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Incendiary_Arrows
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Kindle_Arrows
It’s a real shame that between GW1 and GW2 lore wise, Rangers forgot how to combine fire with arrows, gave away their preparations to thieves in the form of venoms, completely forgot stances and “mirror stancing” with the pet, forgot most of their good pet skills and bow skills in general, and completely forgot all of the amazing spirits with awesome abilities in favor of the tissue paper, have to follow you to keep up with combat instead of having amazing range and effects spirits that we have now.
It’s okay though I guess, because now we can use a 2 handed sword and 2 pets at a time (with arguably less than half the effectiveness they could have in GW1 combined together, but still).
Current iterations of the classes be kitten ed, because every single class in the game retains most of the capabilities they had in GW1 if they existed in GW1, except the ranger, who in the transition sacrificed almost everything that made them unique and in return didn’t receive any sort of compensation in the form of design or capabilities.
“Different games, different designs, blah blah blah, etc.” To that argument, I say that if everything was going to be different in this game but use the preexisting lore, then the least they could’ve done as courtesy is not call this the “ranger” class when any sort of resemblance to the GW1 class is a mere shell of what Rangers were truly capable of. Should’ve just went ahead and called the class “Beastmasters.”

Preach it brother preach! Preach it on high!
A sub optimal option for a sub optimal class? Subception!?
Rangers have nothing to do with archery other than being able to do it.
The term “Ranger” does not imply a ranged specialist, neither in GW2 nor in tradition. It refers to a character who is an experienced survivalist and who is attuned to nature.
And they can perform that role just as well with a sword as they can with a bow.
Some rangers are excellent at irritating other people by knocking things away from melee. It seems like we got this stealth ninja elite skill added, not sure if it’s a nerf or a buff.
There’s a big difference between roaming and organized group play as well. A lot of the tips listed above work wonders when in a roaming or 1v1 capacity, but when you’re trying to play a Ranger in an organized group things just don’t work like that.
Trying to play the Ranger on the outskirts with the other periphery classes just doesn’t work. You will be trained down by the opposing teams Thieves. All the above advice is awesome until you throw a second Thief into the mix or a Thief + D/D Ele or GS Warrior. And I’m not talking about 2v1 scenarios either. Even in 2v2 or 5v5 the defensive options the class has fall flat and you rely too heavily on your teammates to defend you.
This is why people laugh when they see Rangers in GvG. They’re just too easy to train down and the other periphery classes can do your role while also defending themselves and not being a rally bot.
The burst change is welcome and will certainly help with power rangers while roaming. Still nothing to help them in WvW or GvG imo.
You’re right, but it happens.
Staff Eles can kite Warriors and Thieves for days and days while still being able to maintain their offensive capabilities the group relies on. D/D Eles can sustain and provide tons of AE pressure. Thieves are highly mobile and do high burst when they finally create an oppenening. Warriors can tie up Thieves like no one’s business. You’d expect the Ranger to fit into this group of periphery classes because it has a 1500 range advantage, but it simply doesn’t. The burst damage is low, the sustain damage is single target, the ability to escape a group is difficult (and it shuts down your offensive capability for 10 seconds), etc.
Class just isn’t built to support organized PvP as a power build imo. Especially not in WvW where you can’t rely on a terrain advantage to be available 90% of the time.
Better to think of rangers as melee fighters with some strong range options than limit yourself to range. I think you’ll be happier with the class.

@RP I literally hate every single post you make. Here is why:
And yet we will been stunlocked under 100b’s 30-45k overkills
A typical WvW build includes 20+ seconds of stability AND 2 stun breakers AND 1 invulnerabilty. And then traits.! That is a normal build. And you can’t deal with one skill that does DoT.
Every post you make is a complaint and something that isn’t even one of the many thing rangers have to complain about. Ranger do have cause to complain. About hundred blades? NO!
Charr, without a doubt.
I would guess charr for all professions due to all the horrible clipping problems. Also some GW1 players still hold a grudge against them.
