On the other hand, it amuses me greatly, and I plan to play tomorrow. For every person who doesn’t like it, there is another who does. You can’t please everyone. Just don’t log in the rest of the daily cycle.

Seriously though, I myself really enjoy exploring the maps and finding all the high up hidden nooks and crannies, you can get amazingly views of the world without even using a vista if you really try.
Meh, I can remember back in my newbie days I spent a good hour trying to reach a vista…the movement mechanics took awhile to get used to. Now it’s no problem.
Just leave it for now and try again later.
Got to give my nod here that vistas are awesome.
My only regrets currently in the game are that the personal story still hasn’t been resolved and that my computer’s graphics don’t let me see things as beautifully as some. Vista’s will be even nicer when I get my new computer.
Kill the npc before it attacks you…problem solved. Vistas are the best part about doing a map 100% for the 3rd-4th-100th time… Most quests are not that great, WP are easy, PoI (some are quite challanging) but vistats….that’s the thing i enjoy, and that short 3-5 seconds video AC style…best idea ever in a game.

a majority of the vistas are already fairly easy to get, assuming you’re the appropriate level for that area. personally i enjoy the ones that adopt a “mini-jumping-puzzle” style. I guess not everyone would agree though. it’s up to personal preference i suppose.
That said, there are so many vistas that to change them all to make them easier to obtain would take so much work it’s not really worth doing, in my opinion.
Since the beginning there has always been that one thing that bothered me about this game. That would have to be that when a ranger swaps to a different pet the name resets. This means that every time a ranger wants to change pets he or she has to rename it. I do not understand why this is such an issue to fix. I have played many other games where the pet’s name stays. For example World of Warcraft, or Runescape. In Runescape there is a Ninja team that fixes these small bugs and I believe that Guild Wars 2 needs one as well. There are many little inconveniences that could be fixed to make this game not only good, but great. Please show some support for this thread, so together we can make a change!

My Opinion after 5 minutes. Mind numbingly dull. No unlocking skills, nothing, just 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1,1 afk, just a why am I playing this feeling

I feel you… Usually by the time i ended the tutorial i’d already have all 5 skills on the starter weapon and i’d usually finish it lvl 3-ish.
Now its like lvl 1-2, with 1 skill.
And you used to get a off-hand weapon at the end of it plus a bag, now you get the same weapon, just slightly better.
It used to be that the first 10-15 levels were mostly about unlocking your weapon skills, and some other cool stuff (weapon swaping and such), now you just unlock basic stuff that you usually started with…
As a old-player the NPE sux. As a new player, you just don’t know how good it was…
Too bad so many people needed hand-holding, and caused the early game to get kinda ruined imo.
Anet has really made the game too noob friendly :I I mean, restricting everything to let us go on this path they made for us is redicoulas, forcing us to acaully farm traits or farm skills and gold for the traits and all those beginner garbage that spams you till you use your healing skill in the lower areas
I would like to let anyone who has this problem know that I have found a solution:
In your graphics option, switch from Full Screen resolution to Windowed Full Screen resolution and this will solve the problem. You can leave all your other settings on max.
You will not lose any FPS. I have 105 FPS while staring in the distance in the same spot with both options.
Know what? Your fortune awaits, because you’re clearly a genius, and the average development manager would sell his or her soul for a way of reducing the number of bugs that get through that actually works. (“Test it.” Wow.)
I worked as a tester of complex software for a computer multinational for 20 years, and with plenty of our customers’ development groups too, and I can tell you this: if you haven’t been there and done it, you simply don’t have the right to criticise. Development is HARD. Finding every new bug is close to impossible (I don’t know how many people ANet have in their test team(s), but you can be utterly confident that they don’t remotely have enough to thoroughly test every bit of new code every patch, let alone retest even a fraction of the old code). There are formal ways of “proving” code, but they cost an arm and a leg – not the sort of thing you’re going to do in quantity unless people are paying you millions. And even they aren’t foolproof.
The truth is that ANet are no worse than most others, and certainly no worse than I’d expect. The big issue to me is not so much what bugs get through, as how fast serious bugs get addressed once they’re found.
I don’t know, most people who play MMOs are probably used to have one skill for the first five minutes of the game. What are the other popular MMOs right now? They seem to do it.
Sure it’s not what the game was at launch, I agree with that, but it is the big deal people are making it out to be.
The trait system thing did a lot more damage to the game than the NPE ever did.
Yeah, because if there’s anything I want GW2 to start doing, it’s adopting all the terrible habits that make other MMOs not be fun to play, right from the start. That whole bit about how you shouldn’t have to spend 80 levels getting ready to have fun and play the game was obviously a bad idea, and we, as customers, shouldn’t speak up when the best defense that can be given is, “It’s not as good as it was at launch, but it’s better than the rest of the stuff out there, so eh- what’re you gonna do?”

They’re too busy giving off shows that state, mostly, redundant and vague information. It’s almost as if they gave up on the game to make a different one, that they don’t even bother to try and answer these concerns and pleas.

Patience is out the window at this point. People have a right to be upset as customers. I’ve found plenty of other things to do, but that doesn’t take away the fact that this situation is bull crap. I mean it’s not like this is the first and only time they’ve pushed a patch out that broke the game. It doesn’t make people bad, bored, or pathetic to be upset about this situation. I mean we’ve not heard a thing in several days except second hand information. To the couple attacking everyone in the thread now for being upset, I know at least one of you was just as upset last week so give it a rest. If you don’t like what people have to say you aren’t required to comment on it telling them how they are wasting everyone’s time and are wrong. Speaking of, it’s obviously a waste of time for me coming back here since those very few toxic people have started attacking people. I love GW2, but this is unacceptable especially when you factor in the complete and usual lack of communication from Anet. Good luck guys I hope you get your game fixed.

You missed the point of his query completely. He was called a “fanboy” for telling the guy complaining about this issue that it has already been fixed. It makes no sense at all why he would trash mouth him. The issue was fixed, before the big rant about them not fixing the issue and threatening to leave the game because of it.
Jumping puzzle in level 1-15 zone that ends up with a tunnel filled with Oozes – ranged fire dps and that tunnel leads to a room with level 16 5-6 oozes who repop almost immediately and a veteran level 17. Because of ranged DPS, will be unable to flee in time, and it is impossible to kill this on level 15. It is a death trap and it is a horrible experience for a new player…
Why is it designed like that in a jumping puzzle where you could try 4-5 times before you finally come to a chest you are unable to loot? It is like a stupid, cruel joke…

Before the patches I was doing this with out a glitch and a steady FPS. Now if I run a youtube clip on the side the FPS will take major dive. Closin FF will affect FPS in big (positive) way. This is not a performance issue on my rig and only started happening afte the latest set of patches.
Makes me wonder why running a web browser now would cause these FPS issues?
Video related apps (including browser plug-ins) tend to utilize the video card. You’re just seeing the resulting bottleneck.
Can confirm, just went on to download patch, and I’m getting the same fps now as I had before patch. Looks like they fixed it! Sooner than I thought too, gotta give Anet props. May have taken a week, but it was still fixed in a decent time given the scope of the issue

I can’t be patient when I used to play everyday and now I’m waiting for a fix since more than 1 week ago. The fact that I don’t know when it will be fixed annoys me. Ok, they told us they are working on it but I need to know how much time approx. they will need to fix it.
I can’t be waiting months. Anyways I’m sure they are only working on the HoT thing and this won’t be fixed in weeks.
Please, next time test your stuff before add it to the game. I bought the game to play, not to be a beta-tester, because this game still seems a beta.
Anyway, the bug is here, and we have no better choice than be patient, while they fix the bug.
they still dont know when we will have a fix, but they are working on it. I used to play everyday aswell but comon, they will fix this issue and we will go back to play this game.
I think this won’t be fixed in a week, but as long as they are working on it, it doesnt matter, they need time to fix this kind of issue. So just wait, do something else or idk.
I have to agree. I don’t like the new levelling system.
I only recently tried it out, and suffice to say, it’s quite disappointing. Rangers cant’ even name their pet from the off, or control them. Weapons skills are unlocked too slowly, rather than the old way of by using the weapons. It actually made trying a new weapon more fun.
I also miss the Dredge heart quest in the early Wayfarer Foothills. I see no reason why it was removed.
I could go on but I’d just be reiterating what everyone else has already said.
So yes, I’d rather a return to the old system. It played better.
Oh, and bring back Town Clothes & make outfits multiple pieces again!

I’m having the same issue right now. Lots of stuff to do on this game by playing different races/professions. Would love to. But while this is in effect? Nope.
Right now I’m just logging for dailies and Tequatl. As soon as some games come out or others get out of beta, I’m out. Having more fun playing modded Minecraft ALONE than being treated like a newborn.
(6 months and counting since this is in effect; for all intended purposes, silence is akin to a giant middle finger from the team; if they somehow found the time to say they screwed up with trait changes and PS, you’d think they had some time to let us know the something over here – which means they don’t give a flying hoot)
