With enough practice you can jump evade the knockback so that’s just a skill problem in the long run. The main problem is sometime you can not see it coming because the red circle appear outside the platform. And it’s not a problem with just this map, for example when you fight the tree in Swarm, you have to stay around the dry area to see his circle, if you stay in the water area most of the time you won’t see it.

They need to change the AOE area to something like a light shade instead of just the paremeter.

Had no problem with this. Of course my group goes out of its way to do every dungeon the way the devs ment them to be done. Since we do that, we were prepared to do this event the right way, you know, the exact same way we have been doing it since launch.

Thank you for the fixes Anet.

So I guess these are all intended:

- add not spawning.
- add spawn infinitely.
- add doesn’t reset after wipe.
- Boss can start aggro and attacking you as soon as you respawn at the check point.
- Boss’s phase doesn’t reset and stuck in the AOE phase.

Get off your high horse.

To the people who lamented on how Legendary is supposed to show your mastery at the game blah blah blah, sorry to break this to you but you’re only kidding yourself. Right now only these components are truly bound to the account:

- 100% world completion: if you already ahve an 80, this can be done in 1 weeks max, I got mine 4 days after hitting 80. And this gives you 2 Gift of Exploration.
- One Dungeon Gift: can be done in one day.
- 200 Skill Point: too easy it’s barely worth mentioning.
- Gift of Battle: can be done anywhere between 4 days → 1 week doing jumping puzzle.
- 320→500 Shards: used to be the main bottleneck, but with the change to loot, dungeon reward and Fractal, one can get this done in 2 weeks doing a lot of dungeon.

Overall if a person is focus, all of those requirement won’t take more than a month for a focus player. And I said focus, you don’t even have to be good. That represents maybe a 5th of the afford going into a legendary. The rest? It’s basically a rich man game. So if 4 out of 5 the afford going into it can already be bought, what difference does it make if someone can buy it out right?

@Jezath: then go find a guild or a group that will do things your way. Yes, people are telling you either their way or the high way. But pretty on the same token you’re telling them it’s your way or the highway.

Samething with people want to fight Kholer, go find a group that want to fight him. The group is not forcing you not to fight him any more than you forcing them to fight.

When I want to run thing a specific way, I make a guild group. When I pug, I go with whatever the group decide, remember it’s an MMO where you play with 4 other people, it’s not just about you.

Why skipping mobs time over time is bringing up as exploits? What is the point of having open terran map if any attemp of using it are cried foul? Why not putting an invisible wall everywhere than? Or even better, make all map indoor so people don’t get kitten off when they run into your proposed invisible wall? Or maybe put signs up saying “this is the path the dev want you to take, stray from it and you’re a cheater!” Oh I remember, Call of Duty always try to give you this grandose feeling openness on their map, but every time you stray too far from the supposed pass you have a curt nice message slapped in your face saying “turn back now or you’ll get a game over” because “we didn’t put a cinematic trigger over here”, immersive right?

For example you can’t skip any mob in CoE because all of them are placed on a corridor. Yes you can try to run pass them at great risk but you can’t go around them. And that’s fine, it’s an indoor map and it’s part of the nature of the dungeon. I don’t skip anything even when we run with a guild group.

Now on the other hand, maps like Ascolinian is an open map, it’s a battlefield that I can navigate to my objective, why is it considered an exploit? Because it’s something you don’t want to do? I’m asking this since last week when I pug a group and we got it, everyone start hubbing the wall immidiately and no-one said anything. Everyone except one person didn;t make it, and only when he fails to make the jump that he starts ranting about how we are exploiter and lazy. In return I asked why he didn’t mention that before we all making the jump, why wait until he fails it, to which he never answered at which point I just left the group. Better to spend the time finding another group then have to deal with that kind of player.

You can get rid of immobilize with cleanse. The stun breakers are used when you are stunt as in “can not do anything”. The reason immobilize is not a stun because you can still attack and use your ability when you’re immobilize.

That is why Cleansing Flame works because it’s both a stun breaker and a condtion removal, while Save yourself doesn’t beucase it’s only a stun breaker.

What you say is still a variable cost though, and the precursor is just that, a variable cost, it’s not a fixed cost (like Icy Runestone).

Take the 100 charged lodgstone for example: going for my sunrise. I bought 30 lodstone when they where 1.3g each. And I either made the mistake, or didn’t have enough money to buy the rest and had to pay a much higher price for the rest. I completed that requirement 3 days ago with the last lodstone bought at something very close to 2g. Unlike your Onyx my Charged can’t be farm, I run CoE religiously but not even a sixth of my 100 came from it.

The precursor is the same, it just stand out more for people because you can’t accumulate it, but it’s no difference from the other. You’re on the last ledge of your journey, and it’s a long journey so it’s nature you feel tired, but remember you chose to do it.

To answer your question and put it in respective: I’m working on Sunrise and here are the last item I still need:
- 150 Blood.
- 200 Ecto.
- 150 Fang
- 150 Scale.

I already got my gift of Sunrise and the precursor. I can “guarantee” you, my last grind for thos items themselves and your grind for money are pretty much the samething, just in different order. So the point is it’s not the precursor is the problem.

I think the problem is the way how Ascended gears are introduced.

If you think about it, Ascended gears are the next tier in term of progression, meaning it’s the next “regular” gear like Mithril/Orichalcum. By regular I mean it’s not a fancy looking, unique or named Exotic like the Foefire weapons or something like that. It’s something I believe that eventually every play will have as the next gears after exotic.

Yet, it’s treated as if it’s a special type of gears out of the normal curve. For the next “stat” gears, the cost should not be nowhere it is right now. Consider:

Exotic: 5 Ecto, 30 T6 base mats, 15 T6 fine mat.

The ascended piece should have been something like this per: 15→20 Ecto, 50→80 T6 base mats, 30→50 T6 fine mat, 1 Vial of Essence.

But no, it has to uses some ubsurd amount of mats while for some reason completely ignore the base like Ori/Acient/leather. This creates a big, unbalance and unjustifiable shock to the market and directly effect the lower tier as well. Why 50 ecto, why 250 T6? Why some of those not offset by a certain amount Oricalchum or Ancient Wood? I can not see those number anything else but market manipulation on Anet part, for what reason I don’t know, but I can say for certain it’s badly handled.

It will be understandable if Ascended is the next unique item like Foefire, Vocalnus, Corrupted set, something that you want because they’re special, not because you need. But ascended gears, again, is the next “stat” gear, and it’s something you “must” have in order to access certain content in the games. And for that, the mats requirement and its effect on the market I believe is un-acceptable.

Just to throw it out there, right now the overall cost of Sunrise is:

100 Charged Lodgestone at 2g a pop: 200g
100 Icy Runestone at 1g a pop: 100g
500 Glob of Ecto at 35s a pop: 175g
250 powerful blood at 25s a pop: 62.50g
250 Vicious Fang at 20s a pop: 50g
250 Dust at 7.5s a pop: 18.75g
250 Ancient bone at 2s a pop: 5g
250 Venom Sac at 12s a pop:30g
250 Claw at 10s a pop: 25g
250 Eleborate Totem at 27s a pop: 67.5g
500 Orichalcum ingot at 4.5s a pop: 22.5g
+ 50g for other mats/recipe.

The cost of Dawn: 250g.

So overall, the precursor is only about 1/5 of the Legendary in term of gold value and 1/8 in term of afford (karma, token). If you’re lucky enough to have all of the other mats already then power to you, but understand that right now the precursor itself is not a very big factor or unreasonable at all. If you are one of those who think “I will start to work on it once I get my precursor”, you are in for a brutal suprise that I recommend you starting now before you get your precursor.

Need a good PvE DPS build and gearing.

Ok, combing through the forum a bit already but it seems everyone is talking about PvP, so I would like to ask for some PvE love.

I’m currently a Earth Condition Healling spec Ele and it has been working out very well for me. I farmed most dungeons including Arah with little problem. I’m saying this first just in case people gonna tell me “DPS suck go Support”. I’m already playing support, but now I kinda want to try something new.

After looking at the trait a bit by myself I’m looking at two options:

- Straight up Power/Crit/%damage.
-Mix of Power/Crit/%damage + Power/Condition.

I’m planning to go with either D/D or S/D. I’m leaning toward the mix build since I think it has more flexibility, but I’m wondering spreading the damage type between crit and condition gonna kitten my output by a lot.

I already have two armor piece of Power/Crit/%damage and wondering what the rest of my set should be. Right now the plan is:

-Full Power/Crit/%Damage armor
- Mix of Power/Vit/Contion and Crit/Tough/Condition jewelry (not sure about this but you get the idea, the jewelry is where the vit/tough/condition stat gonna come from).

I can play around with the trait later, but I don’t want to go wrong with the gearing since they can be really expensive. Any idea or input are welcome

Note that I’m not looking for a true Glass cannon, I have seen glass cannon ele go down in literally one shot in Arah and pretty much spend more than half the time of the fight dying. But also my current support build allow me take 3 consercutive hit from Lupis, I’m not looking for that kind of resilience either.

Kicked from group for being too low level

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Abriel.4103

On my first char (Guardian) I didn’t even enter a dungeon until 80. After 2k or so worth of tokens from AC explorable I wanted to see what it would be like to try out a 35 warrior in there – so I did just that, went full masterwork power+precision gear and the usual 5 signet build I see 80% of the warriors I pug with there – I can see why it’s so attractive, I get 100% critical rate.. at 35.

And I think you just prove it yourself why the lvl 80 group prefer to kick the lowbie, because your post is a fine desmonstration of what people call “the lack of experience”.

Most people who run dungeon regularly know that it’s never about you or your number, it’s always about the party. And the people who only look at his own output and believe he’s good is the last person you want to bring in a serious dungeon run. I cringe every time I see a War running dungeon with 5 signet and boast about their number, because it’s the most self-centered and useless spec in a dungeon. Concidentally most of these 5 signet wars also run with a rifle.

For example I had a run with the guildie a while back. Both me and him were on our War. And through out the entire run he’s been bragging about how awesome it is to have a periodic 25 stack of might burst damage, and he kept bragging about it throughout the entire dungeon despite me giving him hint it’s not that great. After we downed the last boss and he concluded “Yep 25 stack of might is good lol”. I told the group to wait and ask him to come to me:

I pull out my bow, drop a firefield, do a stomp, drop a banner and the #3 bow attack. The entire party instantly get 9 stacks of might. I asked one of the Guardian in our group to pull out his hammer and spam him Blash finisher, and we kept a ~20 stack of might on our party. So I asked him: between just giving yourself 25 stack of might periodically, and giving your entire party a 20 stack full time, which one you think are better? Do the math.

Not to mention your signet give next to zil support for the party and protect yourself. With the dungeon and HP most encounter GW2, a little extra burst here and there mean very little in the long run. Dungeon is more about a situation setup, support, and your “oh kitten” button. For example AC spefically, if a 5 signet war got pinned down by a scaveling, he will die, period since you have no way to get back up unless someone in the party interupt them. But if you have a stun breaker, you can immidiately get up and roll away when you get pinched. The more uptime you have, the better your DPS, and the less DPS waste by your party to get you up. A warrior’s Battle Standard is the ultimate wipe saver when thing go sour, and it’s infitenely better then the +Might/Swift/Crit the signet give you.

As mentioned above these 5 signets warriors also usually run with a rifle. They get high damage at range. Yesterday I ran with another 5 signet warrior and predictable enough, he also pull out a rifle on every boss fight with the reason “so I don’t die too quickly”. What people don’t realize is that melee make the fight much more controllable. Take Kholer for example, if you have 3 good melee wailing on him, you will notice that he will do his pull->Whirlwind much less often, since concentrated melee can keep the boss stagger and give him little room to attack, as opposes to a group with full range where he can do his whirlwind as often as every 10-12 seconds.

Just go by the number a lot of “pug” believe they’re an awesome player, but experience dungeon understand group synergy is what count. I wouldn’t say I would kick someone like you once you’re in the party, but I wouldn’t say I would be thrilled to run with you again. Unless you listen of course.

Precursor Market - False Stability

The main problem with the Precursor now is it’s too easy to be controlled. Once a few people manage to have an early monopoly for whatever reason (I won’t throw around accusation) they can maintain an iron-grip on the Precursor market. The output is low enough for them to control, and the entry barrier is pretty much prohibitive at this point.

I support the notion of maybe Precusor should become a AB or SB on acquire and some tunning is done to their acquisition. It may be not the perfect solution but IMO, something like a legendary of one person should not be subjected to another person wimp.

Nope, the tone of your argument is the same as the one we heard one month ago about fine crafting material. And like I said, look at where the market is now. Use all the “sentimental provoke” words all you like, but the market run on logic, not sentiment.

Fun, smart, mindlessly or w/e, that’s your choice. I already wrote a bigger post above explaining the approach to getting something. It’s your choice to do thing a certain way and get burnt by it.

FYI I need 100 charged stone for my Legendary, and right now I have 2 cores. You think you have it hard with Onyx? At least TA is easy to run, CoE is a mean dungeon. But like I said, I never make a mission to “get 10 core” per day when I play. It’s a long road and everything I do direct or indirectly will go toward it that I believe when the time come, I will have or be ableto procure 100 stones. (How do you think I have 300+ ecto right now?)

@Grim: what you say is based on a very limited point of view and set of assumption and thus not correct. You’re assuming “everyone” who pick up/farm lodgestone need it like yourself: this is obviously not the case, since if it true you wouldn’t see any on the market to begin with. You are farming to use, and statiscally people like you are in much smaller number comparing to the people farming to sell. Which lead to this self-control circle:

- If a lot of people want to use it, or decide to give up farming for themselves and just buy it. This will dry the market and drive the price up. When people see the profit margin become lager, more will go out and farm it (to sell, not to use), when enough people doing it, you will see the price go down again. Eventually the price will go down enough that people like yourself again decide it’s better to get gold and buy instead of farm, and the cycle continues. For the most part, the market will float around a stability point unless someone or something cause a shock.

You are assuming everyone is playing the game and thinking the same way you do, trust me not every do. In this case, not everyone out there farming for lodgestone is because they want to use it. Some will farm for Core, and use their skillpoint to make stone, resell to make a profit (I have quite a few guild mate doing this). So basically, supply-demand.

Please allow me to solo the mobs that drop these and have my time spent doing that roughly equal to event farming for gold which I feel is barely even playing the game.

And what will be the metric to measure this? The value of the lodgestone is determined by the market, and it’s fluctuated. How can you match something that’s dynamically change? Most people tend to forget that there is no “set value” for most items. The reason they cost 1g is due to their rarity, if it become easier to get than naturally its price will go down, maybe to the point people will complain again that it’s too cheap it’s better to farm goldto buy than actively farming it, in which by your order of progression the rate of gold farming should be toned down to match the lodstone drop rate – rinse and repeat in that circle.

This is the same of what happened to the fine craft market. In the beginning people complain how it’s so expensive to lvl and demand increasing in drop so they can be “self” sufficent or keep up with their craft, and thank the maker it didn’t happen. Look at what happen now, without any adjustment the price still tanked greatly, almost by 100%→150% for most material. It make you shudder to think where the market would be now had Anet given to the “more drop” demand.

This is why the market work, you have people who pick up the thing they don’t need and sell it, and the people who need more than what they can produce will buy from those. If you create a system with perfect equivalent then there won’t be even a market.

Drop rate of lodestones

Abriel.4103

I farmed a long route of Elementals (Air, Earth, Fire, and Ice) in Malchor’s Leap two nights ago with quite a few Risen and Spirits thrown in. Probably over 200 unique mob spawns and I never got DR on experience or loot that I could tell. Wearing 141% MF gear plus 40% from food. Got a single Molten Lodestone for 6 hours of it. Could that just be poor luck? Yeah, of course, but I’m having a particularly hard time coming up with these Lodestones through any sort of ‘natural gameplay’ or farming.

The thing is, if you spend that 6 hours doing dungeon with a good group, you would have a better yeild. Depend on the dungeon and how good your group is, it’s possible to get 1.2→1.6g per houw if you’re lucky with drop and salvage, but a decent group should have a guarantee minimum yield of 1g per hours. That means if you do dungeon in that 6 hours, you would at least have a guarantee of 6 lodstone, more if you’re lucky.

And I doubt “2 logdstones” was the only things you got in your 6 hours either. You probably picked up some other loots, mining the node along the way, karma …etc… in those 6 hours. It’s the same with people arguing about dungeon drop. Tunneling vision in just the logdstone drops is hardly a correct measure, you get loots from those dungeon, you got yellow for sale and salvage, your token can be used to by gears you don’t need and salvages, your reward, the EXP you gain for the next SP …etc… all of those should be counted toward your progression toward the next logdstone. Slow or fast aside, I agree that at the very least the lodstone is a trackable progression, unlike precursors.

These “farming” tunnel vision is what I believe make people more stress than feel the goal is too distance for them. I do play the game normally and collect just about everything I come across. For example I don’t know why people who farm ori/ancient nodes just run pass mithril/elder node. We have this conversastion in our mumble last night where we were just comparing our bank stock. In term of “lengendary progression”, it seems I’m the most behind since the only gift I have is Ascalonian while others already have a few, plus some other karma/recipe mats. But when we count the mats, the guys I talked to went “holy cow” when I told them I have like 300+ ecto and 200+ oricalcum ingot, a butt load of cores and other mats, not to mention my gold and karma stock. One of the guy comment that the reason I seem to be behind because I haven’t convert my crap into stuffs yet, it may be quite possible I’m actually ahead of most of them. I told them I probably wait until I have most of everything and convert in one go.

The thing is, these are what I picked up naturally. Everytime I play, I don’t make a specific mission like “I gonna go farm core today and I want to have at least 5 by the end of this gaming session”. I just play, I may run dungeon, I might farm event, or I might run around gathering node, or a combination of all depending on my mood. But everything I gain and pickup go toward my legendary progression. And I think this is how people should go about their legendary so they don’t end up getting burnt.

This morning (about 9 hours later) when I log in, only a few of those nodes came back while half of them still missing.

I have no idea what governm them now, or is there some kind of secret DR code that if you hit a node twice in close spawn time they will extend their next cycle or something.

A way to fix Precursor's RNG while keeping the RNG.

in Suggestions

Posted by: Abriel.4103

Abriel.4103

All the numbers I use here are just made up figure and be debated. It will just show how the system will generally work.

Introduce a “Precursor’s Token” type.

Each time we throw 4 rares into the forge: if we don’t get a Precursor, we will get a Rare/Exotic + 1 Tokens.

Each time we throw 4 exotic into the forge: we don’t get a Precursor , we will get a Exotic + 3 Tokens.

Accumulate enough token (say 250 or 500), we can use them for a recipe that will give us a Precursor of choice.

This leave the RNG system intact for people to have fun with it, but it will also allow people to steadily work toward a goal. It will also help in a way to eventually put a soft cap on the price of Precursor.

While I don’t personally hate the RNG system (although I can’t say I like it), I think there should be a moderated and not “COMPLETELY” RNG dependent. Taking Star War the Old Republic for example. I think most people who played it in the early day remember the Champion Bag, it works pretty much indentical to the current Precursor system:

- You either get a Champ Piece, or some lower tier token.
- There is no other way to acquire a Champ Piece.
- Even if you get one, there is no guarantee it won’t be duplicate of what you have

So this makes it that there are “lucky” player who get a full set with opening only 20 bags, and there are players who opened upward 100+ bags and still missing piece. But even then, the time/bag attempt is not even the real problem. In my opinion, the real problem is: it lacks a metric to measure progress. The problem is not the player opened the 100th bag, the problem is after opening that 100th bag, the player can not say he’s closer or further from his goal comparing to the time when he opened his 10th bag.

In my opinion, there should always be a way a player can measure his progress. By performing an action, we should make another step closer to our goal, it can be a very small step or even trivial step, but it should still be a recorded step. And this can be relative. For example, the price of an Ecto can be 10s, or can be 30s or even 1g doesn’t matter, but when a player gain an Ecto, he can say “I’m one Ecto closer to my goal than before”. This is what my proposal is addressing, it gives the player a measurement.

Keep the RNG if you like it, and you can “balance” the Precursor Token in any way you want even severely. You can RNG the tokens we receive from each attemp as long as it’s not zero. You can balance the the number of token requires to make a Precursor and bring them in line with a number of rare/exotic you have in mind. 200/300/500 or even 1000. If the RNG god smile upon someone, that’s great. But there should be something for the people that after each attemp, they can say now they’re closer to their legendary than they were before.

Why does rare jelwery's recipe so expensive comparing to all other crafts?

in Crafting

Abriel.4103

Cost wise I mean. In every other craft the jump from Rare to Exotic 80 include a jump from T5 to T6 mats plus the 5 additional Ecto which is not needed by the rare recipes. The rare recipes of Jewelry on the other hand requires 3 Ectos, and I see a few problem with this:

- Why does a rare recipes requires 3 Exotic components?
- Given the cost, the rare Jelwery is not even worth it to make since you might as well make the Exotic.
- The cost of rare as well as the jump in cost to Exotic for Jelwery is quite out of line comparing to all other craft.

9/19 TP outage and how it has affected my gameplay today

So right now it has been over 48 hours since my gold went missing and over 12 hours since the TP is up, I still haven’t received my gold.

- Placed some order before TP went down on the 19.
- Money was taken out almost 2 hours later when the TP was already downed.
- TP was back up briefly. Saw my order, canceled it, no refund and TP went down again for almost a day.
- TP is now back up and working for over 12 hours, and I still haven’t got my gold.

Please we need some concrete explanation on this. Like I said the TP has been up for over 12 hours now, so the assurance of it will be ok when it’s back up is not very assured right now.

He meant the every 25 skill for every level 5 gears insigna set that is also alternate between Blue and Green.

This is just an example and not for accuracy shake, here is what the TP mean by “set”:

- You hit 50 skill: open the first “set” of Cotton insigna
+ they cost 5 biomat + cotton
+ they make lvl20 blue.

You hit 75 skill: unlock the second “set” of Cotton isigna
+ they cost 8 biomat + cotton.
+ They make lvl25 green.

Can you tone down the butter and chocolate?

in Crafting

Abriel.4103

How do you all feel about how much butter you get now?

A completely honest answer? As long as the biomat (fang, blood …etc…) still sought after being much more valuable and butter is a “loot competition”, it will never be good enough.

A more moderate answer would be yes it got better. I think if you’re the type of open every bag as soon as you pick them up, it won’t annoy you too much. But if you the type who save up a bunch of bags and open them all at once, than the butter is still kinda an “in your face” kind of thing. I think about 80%->90% of my bag was butter when it was first introduced, now it’s more like 30%->45% of my bags. I do notice I rarely got butter from Orr’s bag though, , and whenever I get a Powerful Blood out of it I know it put a smile on my face.. But say if you go to the gate to CoF and do the gate event there, you can still more or less swimming in butter.

But like I said, as long as they’re contender of other much sought after mat, most people will see it as an eyesore.

But making a sepearated post since it’s now a different issue. So TP is backup and I saw that indeed the gold was taken out for placing some excessive order. So I cancel all the thing I ordered before the TP went down. The thing is … I receive no refund. And my 4g is still effectively MIA

Half of my gold just disappeared!!!

So I have been playing for past 1.5 hour and a half or so. After the last vendor trash I did about 5min ago I saw that I have around 9g (8g 90ishsilver). Then as I continue playing, 5 minutes later I just notice that around 4g just … disappeared.

No it’s not a scam or someone hack my account since I have been playing the whole time, and like I said, the gold just disappear as I was playing. I literally did nothing except running around and mine a few node and do an event between the last time I see the money and when it’s gone.

The only thing I can think of is that I tried to place a few orders on the TP before it went down but it didn’t come through and no gold was taken, but that was almost 2 hours ago. If that’s the reason then someone it just take my money now, and my order was not even close to 4g, but about 2g (unless it’s placing dublicate orders).

Please look at this, I’m a casual player and 4g is about 2-3 days worth of my in game income !

Yes you’re right, no one is asking anyone to fight, in fact all of us try to find some way to kite. Well, almost no one, save for the very designer of this particular encounter, which is again, the fine point of the debate.

and still no video? whyy?

I posted the video 4 hours ago. It’s about 15 posts up.

And I think it’s pointed out that given the state your group was in at the end, the success is tributed more to luck/flute than a proof of anything. Justl like prefeft, most people still die at the end. I died most of the time, and the occassional runs that I survived can be tributed to luck.

What people mean is that if this is intended, then it should be a calm and control fight that if you do thing right, the result is mostly guaranteed. We do not argue that it’s “impossible” to get passed, since many people already did get passed it, including me. The fine point we’re contesting here is that According to the dev, people can stand and fight, kill the mobs as they come and come out alive.

Oh and also this is a lvl75 dungeon, I would love to see how a lvl75 party to pull that off.

Seeing that usually when I die, it’s because I’m off the main road and by myself since in my experience you don’t die when in present of other companies (you will either rally or they’ll rez you up). And wait until someone to rez you is hardly a desirable option … I mean, do you want to sit there and stare at your corpse for 5 minutes before someone come and rez you? And it doesn’t change the issue that you’re being charged “twice” for one death. I know I take a risk for venture off the path, but I already pay for that with the repair cost.

I think the WP you take when dying should be free, and to prevent people exploiting that (i.e commit suicide to take a free WP to a far away place) it can be made so that you can only spawn at the closest available WP.

Repair cost being (technically) charged twice.

Abriel.4103

Right now, at lvl80 here is what happens when you die and respaw:

- You take a damage penalty that cost 1s84.
- You have to take a WP, which depending on the distance will cost 1s40->1s80 at lvl80.

So basically, you’re being charged twice for the repair cost each times you die. I hope this is an oversight in the system? Seeing the monetary reward for a lvl80 DE is 1s90, dying even once effective wipe the earning you had from the previous 2 events, and I can’t recall in any game that dying once will wipe the earning from one quest, much less two.

IMO a better way to fix story mode is removing the option of doing after one cleared. It’s “story mode”, treat it like a one time affair like Personal Story so people can’t go back and farm it. But keep it at a reasonable level for the new people who want to see the content.

Do NOT nerf please.

Dungeon gear costs way too much

Please please oh please stop using the “real life commitment” card, as I said in other thread, I have 2 jobs and working on gradschool so people showing that card has no sympathy from me. But then again like I said, it’s something I settle down to have in a month or two, not hours or weeks. The “casual” commitment is that everyone anyone can see the content of the games, you don’t have to be part of a super elite guide to do that. You are demanding something different. You’re right it’s a game, not a job, so don’t make it into one, and the one doing that is you.

The problem of people not wanting to do other wings is the problem with the people. Let’s not be pretentious here, when you say “people doesn’t go into the other wing”, you mean “you don’t go to the other wing”. Let’s me ask, even if you find a group that will do the more difficult wing, would you go with them? Or are you one of those /map LFG Speedrun/farm CoF/CM people?

The whole point I’m saying here isn’t the fast and low, it’s to responsed to your and other complain the experience is grindy, and like I said, the one who make it feel grindy is you.

Dungeon gear costs way too much

Abriel.4103

- Have you ever stopped and wonder the grind is there because you want it to be?

- Have you ever considered that maybe the dungeons and different mode are there so people can play, enjoy the challenge and variety and get some sort of reward at the end? Who forced you to farm the first boss in Arah to a mind boggling numers?

- Have you ever considered that there are people who can play and have fun, then one day they ended up with the armor?

- Have you ever consider that the whole reason it’s grindy, because exactly it is you who want it to be grind, because you want it fast and want it easy, you choose to grind?

Speaking from experience. I almost have 2 lvl80 now, and I lvled them completely different:

- The first toon: I lvled it the “proper” way, follow the zones, try to 100% each zone I visit, running each dungeon once as they’re unlocked, participated in a lot of DE. It took about 2 weeks or so for me to get that toon to 80.

- The second toon: I lvled it the “grind” way, basically try to power level with several craft, than starting at 40 I “grinded” CM story all the way up. Took about less than half the time. Last night the group I was in took me as a replacement, and from their dialogue I reckon they probably have to run CM story for at least 20 times already, and with me we did about 7 more runs, after I left they still kept going. And throughout the run I see them complain that they can’t wait to hit 80 because they’re about to go crazy grinding the place. Let’s me ask a question: whose fault is that?

Personally I didn’t really enjoy the 2nd toon lvling experience much. On my third toon I already decide I will go with an exploration type experience. The first toon didn’t venture much outside the area the story lead to, so I plan to explore the world more, and looking forward to that.

Grind or not grind, it’s your choice.
