PvE Support Bunker Build

Below is a link to the build.

Your weapons will be staff and mace/shield.

On a whopping 1 second cooldown you and allies gain 7 seconds of Might each critical hit you do and you have 43% crit chance. Also on a 5 second cooldown, you gain 7 seconds of vigor on a critical hit. Oh yes baby.

Each dodge roll heals you and nearby allies. And you will get the most out of it with 2 sigils of energy and a huge 1’748 healing power! And all with +45% boon duration.

Conditions getting you down? Sure you may only have the passive condi removal of 1 every 10 seconds, but you can summon your Bow of Truth which will last for 30 seconds and can remove conditions off you and your whole team. Best part is, when you are almost done with it, you can command it to make some more AoE heals for you and your party. Sexy.

Your virtue of resolve is not only beefed up but allies get it too as well as bonus toughness based on your level. You yourself may not have the most toughness in the world but for a Guardian, 19.8k health is far from bad. You can figure the rest out coz I am lazy.

  • Bleeding damage is reduced, now deals more damage if the target is moving.
  • Torment no longer deals more damage with movement, instead torment can pass itself to nearby enemies by touch. You can only be ‘touched’ by torment once.
  • Burning damage is reduced, stacks in intensity.
  • Vulnerability no longer stacks intensity, instead duration, stays at a 10% damage increase.
  • Confusion only triggers when the foe doesn’t hit a target with a skill instead of triggering on every skill use.

There, you can make conditions more powerful without fear of making them broken. Allowing for more skillful play.
While we’re at it.

  • Retaliation damage is increased, now ends after being hit. Like Aegis.

As much as i agree the condition meta needs to be fixed. Your points are mostly bad idea’s with the exception of vulnerability and confusion. I am sorry to tell you. What actually must happen is that the application of conditions should be nerfed, not the conditions themselves. no one should be able to spam conditions, that is a bad design.

I am on Yaks Bend server and I am afraid to say after seeing NO bots for the last 8 months, I have come across where too many bots to count are. I have found where the botters are all now, they are all in Malchors Leap roaming around out the front of the Temple of Lyssa. Below is an image showing where they are all botting.

I think Arenanet should add at some point down the road a commander panel or tab. Something that has an icon/name with health on it sort of like the icons of party members. And also a number next to them indicating how much supply they are currently carrying.

Using the command /squadinfo is a little annoying for me haha and it bugs me that I can’t see who is in my squad at a click of a button. It would certainly make it easier to see how everything is going, especially in a fight or to make sure everyone gets supply coz it is annoying when people forget haha

What do you guys think? I think it would be a good addition to the game.

It doesn’t matter which profession you pick, as long as you have a good build for wvw on your class.

BUT I suggest a Guardians or Warriors for commander above all, necro’s and mesmer’s can be pretty good too. Those are the ones I think would be best suited but really, any is fine. Use a theif or elementalist if you enjoy playing those more, just don’t die LOL

I have commander on my Guardian and it works out pretty good, I don’t die often because I am pretty tanky overall and still put out decent damage with my Greatsword and a bit of CC with my Hammer.

My teammates (Germans) had this problem about one or two weeks ago. I (Swiss) have this issue for 3 days now. I tested my internet connection several times (UP: 12 mbit/s, DL: 50 mbit/s). So there must be a problem with the servers of A-Net.

Yeah, I tested mine too(Australia) DL: 8mb/s, UL: 2mb/s. I hope they fix it soon, I love this games pvp but the random lag every match is starting to get to me and I rage quitted the game yesterday because it was just so bad.

I have been playing a lot of tPvP and the last 2 days I have gotten random lag and not just a little… I mean. Suddenly I would be in a fight or running to a point/fight and then I would get a few seconds of rubberbanding or momentary freezing… and in a fight it obviously gets me killed more often than not.

A few days ago it was perfectly fine and no lag at all. I am not the only one getting it either. Some of my guild members have as well because I asked them and last match (20-30 min ago from this post) I asked if anyone else has had the problem in the game and as you can imagine… I was not alone.

So is anyone else getting it too or has gotten it before?

I run a very similar build for PvE. However, I would recommend you either pick up Pure of Voice, or Absolute Resolution so you can get some condition removal, esp. if you’re doing WvW. Immobilize will absolutely wreck you without it, and anyone running heavy conditions is going to chew through that regen in no time.

Yeah good idea. I don’t always have my 6 or 0 ready when stun-locked

What’s the ppoint of this build in WvW?

Meat shield/revive, keep enemies off their siege if you can and knock away enemy finishers/invisible thiefs and chase mesmers keeping them on their toes

You fail to realize mace 2 removes all conditions when standing on a symbol. Don’t believe me try it out. It does.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t. In fact I just tested it out and mirrored your traits to see if it was a hidden aspect not mentioned in any tool tips and it didn’t wipe conditions.

You may just be seeing them drop off due to duration ending, or someone else is removing your conditions without you realizing it.

I might argue that you would get more consistent aoe healing out of the sigils of energy and dodging than you would out of some of the sigils you listed, specifically sigil of superior water when your crit % is relatively low.

I stated that sigil of water was NOT VITAL. It was just something I threw on my staff and even staff is not vital. So your point isn’t very strong But I will look into sigil of energy thanks.

You may be unkillable, but how do you actually intend to kill anything with a build like this? At the very least you should run with Apothecary gear, then you can dish out some burn damage.

Unkillable build is what it is. At no time did I state you do damage. Infact i stated you will do some of the most pathetic damage seen in the game If you traded survivability for damage then it defeats the whole purpose of the build

This build is a tank/support build that focuses on toughness and healing power.

Healing is key to this build and when you get good with it, you’ll wonder why you ever used skill 6 in the first place. There is nothing in this game that you can’t tank/kite with this and it pushes survivability to the breaking point of which some may say the class is plain broken. But I beg to differ since you will do some of the most pathetic damage seen in this game.

You’ll be using exotic CLERIC armour with SUPERIOR RUNES OF DWAYNA. The old version of this build used to recommend runes of the monk but it turns out that runes of dwayna are more effective since they give regeneration bonuses and regen will heal you a lil over 1.5khp/sec so as you can imagine just a few seconds of regen will almost top up your health(13k-16k) to full. So every lil extended duration makes a huge difference with this build.

By the end of it you should have anywhere over 1.4k healing power. I have 1.6k since I have some ascended but the difference isn’t too noticeable.

Now for your weapons you have to have mace/shield as your man set. the secondary I recommend a staff, but a greatsword is fine if you want to do a bit more damage. On your CLERIC’s mace you’ll want SIGIL OF SUPERIOR LIFE and on your shield SIGIL OF SUPERIOR RESTORATION. Getting kills with the mace will add to your healing power as well as the shield gives you a small burst heal each kill you get credit for. For your staff i just use SIGIL OF SUPERIOR WATER. It has a 30% chance to heal allies. It is by no means vital to the build so any sigil will do as well as any other weapon of choice. BUT staff skill 4 is extremely useful and heals you like an absolute boss. And the ally heal is noticeable as much as night and day.

And before anyone asks, YES! It works out very well in World vs World.

You can tank A LOT and your elite and 6 come in handy more times than not. But the only thing I would change to be more survivable in WvW would be “hold the line!” to Judges Intervention. For when escaping a zerg of enemies chasing you down (when you get good, you can mostly get away even if you run half way across a WvW map regardless if there are more than 20 enemies).

There will be another release at the end of April on top of this bonus living world release today for Super Adventure Box. Date, features, and content TBD (spoiler: of course we have a Flame & Frost release!)

And when is Polymok coming? I have been waiting til the 2nd month of the game being out And you better have it so mini-pets fight, none of the polymok pieces BS. Give mini’s a clear value and not just some vanity accessory

I purchased around 30 BLC keys, opened the chests… and got nothing but some pathetic boosters I’ll never use, BL axes I’ll never use, 9 mystery tonics I WILL use someday… but no weapon skin. why Arenanet? why? I feel cheated.

If you are going to advertise these awesome weapon skins people can get, next time could you atleast make the drop rate be known? And words of advise.

IF you are going to have cool skins in BL chests, and sell the keys with REAL money. Please make the drop rate a 1/10 chance next time. Or you’ll lose the respect of your playerbase. It makes us feel like you cheated us

While your at it I want my shouts to heal for a lot as well. Even with my super duper cleric set, my warriors ability to shout my allies from 0-100% is lacking in some areas.

I have a level 80 Guardian. I gave her a full exotic set with healing power and all armor has Superior rune of the Monk. I wanted to be a tank/support with good group heals. I thought by time I got my full set of gear with the runes then I could heal well or atleast noticable.

No, my heals absolutely suck. They do almost nothing at all. there is only 1 ability that my guardian has that actually has a noticeable heal. Tomb of Courage(elite) which is OP at healing but has a brutal cool-down so you only get to use it once per fight. Every other skill that has some kind of heal (including symbols with trait) heal way less than 1k hp at level 80. It is so sad when everyone has over 10k hp or some even have 25k hp. I swear they heal less than 500hp.

And for a while I thought that maybe no one could heal good at all. And decided to spec for more solo and less support. All until I started running dungeons today with a guildie of mine, who is an elementalist… and he group heals like a boss. (-_-) He could heal my 16k health in seconds. All his heals were so OP it was almost like he was a dedicated healer. I was jealous as you could imagine. But I don’t like ele’s and would rather play on my Guardian.

Oh and if you thought that was unfair, he did not have exotic gear, and he had no healing power attributes on his gear at all… yet he could out heal me times over. All he needed was a staff and water attunement

The jumps, are EASY. The only trouble is SEEING YOUR CHARACTER. And times you deliberatly slow down to see your character, you realise a mob of norns are covering your view of the jumps but that doesn’t matter coz the goo already got you coz you slowed down.

I play a short female human and she… isn’t noticable in a mob of norn and charr haha Meh, I will keep trying until I get lucky and there are no big players doing it. I almost did it a few times when for a few minutes when everyone was human/asura. But then norn showed up and I started doing a lot worse.

I have done the tower on all races, including an Asura mesmer. I had no speed boost on that character. So I can fully understand your situation. All through the first 10 jumps I was completely hidden by all these Charr and Norn chars. (But then they start to die off and it gets easier).

You really have to get a feel for when to jump. That’s where muscle memory kicks in. But with muscle memory (any kind of memory really) you have to understand that you can’t train for too long at a time. I wouldn’t advise playing the clock tower for more than 1-2 hours at a time (unless you’ve already mastered it).

Go out, do some Halloween achievements, or if you’ve already completed all of them, then do something else you like to do. It’s important that you also calm down. I know I was ready to destroy my keyboard with the help of my mouse after the first 2 hours of failing at the tower.

But then I slept on it, and the next day immediately at my first try I’ve made it further then ever before, and within 15 minutes I’ve successfully completed it. After that I could already do it at least 1 out of 3 times.

I know my cousin was in the same boat. Couldn’t get past the first cog on the first day of trying, easily completed it the next day.

I know this is not much help, but it’s all I can give really… Please, trust me. You need to give it a rest if you’ve really been doing it for 6 hours. I can only imagine the psychological pain you’re feeling right now

Yes, the norn do die off. Mainly coz they actually finish the puzzle. But this being an MMO there are plenty more norn coming to fill in. I an usually an optimistic person but after 4 hours of the same repeated fails I can honestly say that was the first time I got close to raging. And yes, I felt like forcing the keyboard through my LCD screen but we both know no good comes from that.

And yes, i have every other possible achievement up to this point. obviously i don’t have ‘attend the party’ yet. -sigh- And i am a completionist. so not having this achievement yet bugs me so badly. I hope I get it tonight

EVERYONE, I HAVE BEEN FAILING THIS PUZZLE FOR 3 DAYS… I have a solutio though that I will do tonight.

MAKE A NORN, simple as that. The puzzle design is actually quite good, but the way they execute it fails worse than making a boat out of sponge. Norn and Charr make it unfair and make it so seeing your character is impossible and then seeing there to jump is not as worse but still bad. I will make a norn BECAUSE THEN I WILL ACTUALLY HAVE PROPER PLAYER CONTROL of where my character is going etc.

Thats the point. Its the MAD tower.

But it is not the tower making me “MAD” what is frustrating is playing a human only to be unintentionally trolled by norn and charr… then other players are FORCED to make a new norn character so they can actually see what they are doing and then you get mobs of level 1 to 3 norn doing it just because it is unfair to every other race participating.

And I don’t want to HAVE TO make a norn just to do it. I want to “play a game how I want to”, that is guild wars 2’s philosophy. Regardless of the puzzles title, it contradicts what the game stands for. But no matter, if it isn’t done by this afternoon, I will make a norn and do it tonight (-_-)

Adam, the clocktower achievement does not count for the overall achievement. You don’t need it.

Making it easier would ruin the bragging rights part of completing the tower. I cant favor that.

It is the MAD kings tower, not the NICE kings tower. It is designed to be hard.

hahaha I am a completionist. I even have 31 minipets for the sake of colecting. I have over 260 dyes also. And well, anything that is collectible XD and this achievement is bugging me coz I need it. the only others I have left are “attend the party” and the one for getting all achievements “emmisary of the mad king” … so in other words, the only one I need is the clock tower achievent and then the other 2 are sure things. I have been at the clock tower (no life I know) for 3 DAYS… the other night, I spent 6 hours straight trying to do it.

And I don’t want to pay anyone to do it coz I want to do it, it is my character and account.

This has happenned to me a few times! But I didnt let it bother me… what bothers me is having the clock tower NOT instanced… I admit the tower puzzle itself is not that hard, BUT norn and big charr make it impossible for me to see my character or where to jump And when I get tired of failing repeatedly for an hour I sometimes get cautious and go a bit slower to see my character… then fail coz the green goo gets me.

I SPENT 6 HOURS STRAIGHT AND STILL DIDNT DO IT… Do you guys realise Norns and Charrs make you fail coz you can’t see your character and then when you actually get ahead of them… it comes to luck because there is 1 block that drops into the acid a second after the first person jumped on it so you have to be pretty much in sync with the lead and that rarely happens..

Mad king clock tower needs to be made instanced… it is impossible to see your character and/or where you are jumping when there are massive norn and charr blocking your sight.

  • Money sink casino in-game. – This would be cool if you had a casino in like a crazy place like in the sky that you could do crazy mini games for gold and have a tiny chance to win something worth of value.
  • Dungeon & Jumping Puzzle timers. – You could set up Leaderboards on your site for the fastest dungeon runs on the different modes and the fastest jumping puzzle runs too.
  • HD screenshots. – Bring them back. They looked soooo nice.
  • costume slots. – THESE WON’T MAKE TRANSMUTATION STONEs OBSOLETE. You could have a set of slots next to your armor slots that you put your costume/outfits in so you don’t have to keep transmuting an outfit you paid real money for. OR you could have the costume slots buyable with gems in the store or via your character and everyone starts with the helmet costume slot and has to buy the rest of the slots. And you could make profit by making the slots costly like 400 gems each.
  • Pet names that save. – Adds immersion and is awesome.
  • Better mapping ui. – It would be nice to hover our cursors over an asura gate on the world map or mini map and have a popup come up stating where that particular asura gate goes.
  • spvp/wvwvw/tpvp spectator mode. – Would be nice to fly a camera around and watch wvwvw battles and spvp skirmishes.
  • .Platinum rewards – Sure we have copper, silver, gold rewards. But how about a platinum reward for the best player during an event? You could give them a goodie bag that has a chance to get gold, karma, booster, mystic coins or shards etc.
  • ADD Hardmode. – Could you allow use to replay our personal story in hardmode that is as hard as a dungeon and you’re required to be lvl 80? We could access the missions from our storybook.
  • instant matchmaking for wvwvw. – Not everyone does WvWvW for their server. can’t you have a overflow wvwvw server so people can play wvwvw instantly? then while they are on the overflow they are qued for their server.
  • festival hat/costume maker like in GW1. – Please. Can we have an NPC that will craft us a festival hat or costume that we have shown them previously? It saves bank space and real money.
  • server guesting. – play on any server as long as your friends are there? you lied…
  • Make dyes ACCOUNT BOUND. – You said dyes are account bound… you lied again…

———COMPILATION OF ALL PREVIOUS TOP IDEA’S———

  • Preview Armour/Weapons on the trading post. – This would save disappointment for those who are buying for cosmetic reasons only to realise they wasted a small fortune on something they dislike the look of.
  • Add a “dungeon token” collection tab in the bank. – This would not only be convenient, save bank/inventory space but make sense also. Since you collect them making them collectibles.
  • Better party group mechanics. – How about seeing who is party leader? Or making someone else leader?
  • First person view. – This would add more immersion, get people to explore a lot more and encourage them to take more screenshots.
  • Damage reflect numbers. – People who play tanky roles can tell how effective they are at negating damage. you could add it as a tickbox in the options UI.
  • Need a Duelling Mechanic. – 100% of players want this.There have been over 20 times where I have wanted to test my abilities against another player and vice versa.
  • View Gear of another player – This would make everything more convenient so I don’t have to bug another player bout what his gear is.
  • Key Bind 3 Different keybinds. Loot, Resurrect and Interact. – Time after time, I have resurrected a useless NPC instead of looting.
  • Player Housing. – I can not express at how much this would improve your game. It adds more immersion than the other 90% of the game. It could also be another money sink and you could even sell furniture through your gem store I would love to make my own house in my home instance and make it like a mini castle with statues along a long hallway with armour on them and red carpet with a massive statue of zhaitan as my centrepiece. This will get people to play longer and provide another end-game.
  • Barber Shop – Either do what u did with GW1 with a micro-transaction or put in an in-game barber shop where players mess with hair/facial hair options. If not, a magical guy that allows you to remake your entire characters(without changing race or gender).
  • load/save traits. – This would be one of the best and most used features. Of course you could charge us but it would be nice and convenient. That way we can pay a small fee in-game and change our entire build on the fly to something more suited to the next dungeon boss battle.
  • in-depth stats – What? no overall “Magic find percentage”?
  • In-game PING meter like gw1. – Everyone would like to know their ping on the main UI like in a corner you could have a small coloured bubble like gw1.
  • no stack limit to collectibles in bank. – I have so much iron yet I dont want to sell it amoung other materials and they now eat up bank space etc.

Home Instance: Future Plans?

In order to make the personal instance a great more memorable and worth peoples time is simple.

1) Being able to edit your home and build it from the ground up (start with a flat field) even if we only get the editable home instance at level 80 or have to buy it from the gem store.

2) Put memorabelia in it (enemy heads, skulls, trophies, map or badges, flags, guild banners).

3) Home chest which is magically linked to your bank like the xunlai chests in gw1.

You could fund this as a special update to the game that has to be purchased from the gem store as an upgrade and that’ll produce revenue because face it, if you made the 3 things above as a buyable update… EVERYONE WILL BUY IT.

  • Actual cutscenes – This would make the storyline so much better. But I understand is takes a while with the so many variations.
  • load/save/send builds. – This would be one of the best and most used features. Of course you could carge us but it would be nice and convenient.
  • in-depth stats – What? no “Magic find percentage”? or “healing power”?
  • voice support for 5-man parties. – If I could voice chat while doing a dungeon with a bunch of randoms, this would raise dungeon success by miles.
  • Guild Halls – We need a place to hangout with our guildies. simple. PUT IT IN!
  • Multiple Preview options. – This game has the wort clipping ever. And when you preview stuff, mostly you have to take the time to get naked just to see it properly coz ur armour/clothes cover it. Maybe if you add a button or two like “combat stance” so your character in the preview window weilds it in their hands so you can see it better or even a “go naked” button at the very least.
  • Potion making with random cool things. – Only +% potions?… REALLY!?… what about potions that make you the size of a norn? as small as an asura? different race? opposite gender?… hell, even a potion that makes clones of yourself would be awesome enough. You people need to learn how to make crafting fun and put in senseless whacky random stuff.

  • Crafting Dynamic Events. – Maybe you could have events players can only do once every 24 hours and they can only do it until they level up once on their crafting profession. Like cooking in some massive epic 5 story high resturant with awesome NPC’s like a french head chef or mining at some old desolate mine and using those special quest item ores to craft armour until armoursmithing levels up once and then u have to wait another 24 hours.

  • Helper NPCs in storyline quests should be more useful. – This is something you should fix soon. I understand you want the player to feel more powerful and a hero… but really it gets annoying to revive the same NPC’s repeatedly 5 times on the same quest.
  • Waypoint costs need readjusting. – You have enough money sinks and +3s per teleport? no no not on. 1s should be max price.
  • Add a token collection tap in the bank. – This would not only be convenient, save bank/inventory space but make sense also. Since you collect them making them collectibles.
  • Add an LFG channel. – This would me dungeon party finding that more faster and easier.

  • Numbers or Percentages on healthbars. – This will add more strategy to your combat and lets the player see the damage they are doing.

  • Epic Raids once a week. – You could implement epic scale castles, fortresses or zones where players can access once a week as a set time and raid with their guild for some hack and slash mayhem with over 100 enemies and when taken over, can display guild banners or something.
  • View Gear of another player – This would make everything more convenient so I don’t have to bug another player bout what his gear is.

  • WvWvW Ground/Water Mounts. – Dying and then walking to the battle is so brutal no feeling on gw2 matches how boring and grindy that feels… I use run skills and then feel worse when they run out. You could add a kitten ghost horse that runs on grounds and water.
  • Player Housing. – I can not express at how much this would improve your game. It adds more immersion than the other 90% of the game. Every character we make, they get their own personal instance(home) like humans get salma district. As this is a good feature and makes sense, another thing that would make the game more alive, give you more to do, more to strive for, something to appreciate, somewhere to add our achievements and finally, something that add more immersion.

Like making our home bigger, better, more kitten, or just plain posh. And putting weapons we have got on walls and armours on statues in our main hallway. Other games have this feature also and they are addictive. More so when you just got enough money to buy that awesome dragon statue as your centrepiece for all your friends to be amazed at.

That would be the ability for us as players to edit our characters home. It could be one of the games greatest money sinks. And Arenanet could even sell awesome furniture and tapestry in their gem store also which will get more micro transactions for those who want their home to just look awesome faster.

Many people here know cooking isn’t cheap to get up and it is a bit painful to gather all the ingredients. But, that is a part of the game. What if you people put in 24/7 events that are never ending in the main cities where players can go and be a chef or something in a restuarant until they earn a certain amount of xp and then have to wait 24 hours until they can join again.

That way it will help them get their cooking crafting higher by 1 level a day? It would be cool and would help all those who havent got the time or money to level up their crafting skills. sure theoretically people could have all crafting professions maxed to 400 in 400 days without paying a copper. But, 400 days? that is already longer than it would take anyway.

You could even have whacky NPC’s like a french chef or something or for armoursmithing, a big hairy norn guy with some stupid backstory. Well, just an idea.

I think it is cool
