Yes they made our downed state really good. That doesn’t change that we still have a bajillion bugs that are there for MONTHS, do subpar damage, are extremely squishy and outperformed in everything but support (if we HEAVYILY spec for it) by other classes.

Also, whats with our drowned state? We are masters of fire, water, air and earth, but the only thing we can think of when drowning is kicking like a baby? Even thieves underwater drowning kick has a knockback. Our just does damage. Simply shows how much kittens arenanet gives about ele: zero.
How about some offical reply on this issue? This is getting ridiculous. Every single patch has ele nerfs not even in the patchnotes.

It’s been 2 month since launch. I’m simply getting sick and tired of not having 90% of our bugs fixed, and being the class with least damage, hp and armor, and apparently for Anet that’s ok. But when rangers have an itch a dev comes flying and gives them an answer post ASAP.
But not ele, ele can suck it.
Well ANet just hates eles. Rangers get an answer to their patch woes on the same day, we will probably never get an answer. Typical.

Only a bad mesmers lets all his illusions get hit by aoe. A good one spreads them around so you have to focus them 1v1.
Do elementalists bring a lot to a teamfight? Yes, Staff ones do, every other ele not.
Do mesmers bring a lot to a teamfight? Hell yeah. Every single one of their elites is insanely useful in tournaments, they have buff sharing, aoe condition removal, etc.
Yeah this sucks. I have < bound to target a called out target and now that function doesn’t work anymore. Needs fixing ASAP.
Yes downed state fix is a good start, but we are still the worst profession overall. Countless bugged traits and abilities (mistform cd reduction, getting immobilized/killed in mistform,etc). Also burst builds are simply not viable. To be anything close to viable we have to spec and gear extremely heavy into toughness/healing. Meaning we have about 2 builds to choose from.
We have a LONG way to go still. At the moment rogues are just superior d/d elementalists, and engineers are superior in every other way to use (way more versatile, etc.).

Next PvP video I’ll upload on my youtube channel will be this build I made I can archieve: 2100 power, 1100 cond. dmg., 1900 toughness, 1000 healing power.
I just lack precision and vitality.
You cannot have those stats at the same time.

ok this is a REALLY quick clip, Ive only been playing it for 30 minutes or so but this is what the numbers look like with the setup. I wanted to get the clip of where i 14k bursted on a poor unsuspecting Asura.

A glasscannon thief has more survivability than a toughness specced ele. It’s really sad.

We have a HUGE amount of bugs, known since beta, most of them easy fixes but never fixed. Mistform cooldown reduction for example. We are useless underwater yet not a single change was made there. Our tornado does less damage and conditions than thieves daggerstorm, yet has double the cooldown.
Our teleport – lightning flash- worked to “jump” over gaps in beta, yet now it doesn’t. Engineer rocket jump and thief shortbow teleport still bridge gaps.
And not a single official response was given.

Since todays patch ride the lightning doesn’t work in the air anymore like it did before. Instead of going in an arc you go straight down to the ground and then forward, unlike ANY other charges that arc in the air (guardian for example).
Is this an intended nerf or a bug?
There’s a huge difference between good and worse downed states, and not working ones (i.e. ele downed state).
Every one besides ele can interrupt at least 1 stomp. Sure guardians can AOE interrupt, thieves can interrupt 2 and mesmers are a PITA. But everyone can interrupt at least the first stomp, maybe buying some time for a teammate to arrive and rez or whatever.
Ele however cannot interrupt. And that is a fatal flaw. You simply cannot compare ele downed state to any other. You can compare the other 7 and there are better ones and worse ones yes, but ele downed state plays in another league. In the “don’t even bother” league.
And that’s why ele downed state needs an emergency fix before paid tournaments go live.
You can also use that tactic against others. It’s not exclusive to the other team you know.
Also could you stop derailing a thread about fixing ele downed state with your personal vendetta?
Then simply vapor form back onto the point and damage them. It seems you are the one who doesn’t understand how this works.

Pretty much every highlevel team has a glasscannon thief. With 900 toughness they’ll instakill you without being seen with their combo.
If they are still around damaging you you can also damage them. Also you can vaporform away to heal up, and if they follow you they aren’t deffing their point meaning your team can go in for the capture.
Lightning touch should be instant and blind IMHO. Dagger/Dagger lacks a blind.
Also I think we should get some combo fields besides fire in our other weapon setups besides staff. Sure let staff be the best combo weapon with having access to ice and lightning fields, but at least give water fields to dagger and/or scepter too.
Earth is one of our best (damaging) elements IMHO.

Your build is bad and you should feel bad. Try playing that in a tournament and weep. You’ll get owned left and right. 900 toughness lol.
Pretty sure swapping 2 and 3 IS the intended fix to downed state.
I doubt it…It’d make the elementalist downed state OP because there would be no way to secure a stomp on us.
It wouldn’t be any better than mesmers or thieves teleports/stealths in downed state. And before you state that vapor form heals you, it also gives you a downed debuff, after 3 (or 4?) times it instantly kills you. Also it has a cooldown after use. The only change would be that it would be usable against the first stomp, after that they could easily stomp you again without you having vapor vorm available. Just like all the knockbacks or the mesmer stealth.
Also @the people saying suicice against bleeding out… why would you not bandage yourself when noone hits you?
Problem is paid tournaments are coming this week and ele still has a non-working downed state. That’s why I think an emergency fix is needed until the “real” fix is ready to go live.
Downed state plays a huge role in sPVP, both hotjoin and tournaments. Yet elementalists are barred from playing with the others because we are the single class that cannot interrupt stomps.
There was already talk of changing downed state “sometime”. But when is this sometime. And while I’m at it why oh why don’t you switch our #2 and #3 downed state skills until you get to really fix downed state? Downed state is THE biggest detriment of elementalists in pvp. How this isn’t a higher priority issue is beyond me…
The only thing I like about Elixir X is it’s relatively short cooldown. Overall it’s the laziest designed ability in the game. It should really be it’s own, non-random (it’s an elite kitten , transform.
There seems to be some general bug with loading screens since the patch. Not only the endless pvp loading screen bug, but also all my other loading screens in pve have doubled to tripled in time. Also sometimes I cannot log into my characters that stand in the heart of the mists. The loading screen there just won’t end, and I’ve waited more than 15 minutes.
Again I can’t even log into my character standing in the heart of the mists. Getting endless loading screens.
Engineers really got the short end of the elite stick. Mortar simply sucks, Elixir X is a random version of 2 other elite skills (lame and you’ll never get what you hope for) and Supply drop, while our best elite, is still extremely underwhelming.
… and still no official statement from Anet…
All they do is spam their kittening autoattack all day long, maybe use their haste to SPAM AUTOATTACK WAY HARDER. There is not a single class that can cleanse bleeding fast enough to counter them. Oh and also they have 1500 range.
How the kitten are you supposed to counter that? Oh and of course their pet attacks you too all the while. At least the other OP classes need to do something besides running around not even using buttons because AUTOATTACK.
Making a new character works, but all my characters (ALL OF THEM) are in the heart of the mists and when I try to log in with one of them I get the endless loading screen bug.
So after this horrible patch nerfing my main (already the weakest class anyway) and not even fixing gamebreaking bugs like Ride the Lightning, now I can’t even play the game?
Worst. Patch. Ever. Well second to worst, the SWTOR patch that rolled back a complete planet was worse
This is getting worse. Now I can’t even log into my characters that are in the heart of the mists. Endless loading screen there too… and seeing as all my characters are parked in the heart of the mists I cannot play the game right now. Worst bug ever.

Completely agree. I didn’t roll ele to be a bunker that does no damage at all.

This is my gameadvisor report. Again, I never had this problem before the 7/10 patch. Not once. Now I have it ALL THE TIME. You gotta fix this fast, PVP is completely unplayable like this.

I never had this problem before the 7/10 patch. The game is completely unplayable for me now. 9 out of 10 death’s in sPVP I have the loading screen bug.
So not only the unlogical nerfs but now also completely gamebreaking new bugs with patches. This game is going straight the way that SWTOR has gone…

Since the last patch I have this issue almost all the times. It’s getting ridiculous.
“heineous amount of damage”. you REALLY should try another class. For the amount of (easily dodgable) skills you need to combo in your… combo, other classes do even more damage with 2-3 skills instead of your 6-10.
Anyone who argues ele does competitive (or even good) damage is simply delirious and/or never played another class.
LOL arcane skills and burst, are you insane? There’s autoattacks that do more damage than our arcane skills.
Fear not elementalists, we still have our …. umm… Electric combo field. No-one else will ever have that!!
Until you drop a lightning hammer and another class picks it up and now has access to a lightning field
EVERYTHING is more fun than ele at the current state.
And not a single good bugfix was given that day.
This is more and more reminding me of SWTOR…
I’m hoping the next patch Elementalist get is going to have something good for once. If not, I’ll be really tempted to just shelf my two (asura and human) elementalists and play with my guardian.
I’m already leveling my guardian, and doing quests 4 levels above me with ease. My ele struggles with onlevel quests sometimes…
It’s simply insane how they nerf our only damaging underwater ability yet don’t find the time to fix some of our HUGE list of gamebreaking bugs that are still there for over 4 weeks.
