I play both ele and thief. Thief GC is extremely viable, ele is not at all. All your ranting doesn’t help that you don’t play ele.

And yes opponent was maybe afk but i don’t see any difference if he wasn’t.

Totally unrealistic video. Ele damage is about 10% of that under normal conditions.

a) player has to be above 90% health. Unrealistic.
b) target has to be below 25% health. Overkill.
c) target has to be afk to not dodge/use a stunbreaker. Unrealistic.
d) player uses 2 utilities and all long cooldown weapon skills. Free kill afterwards.

So stop comparing this video to thieves. Thieves do this amount of damage all the time without any significant cooldown inbetween AND they can escape unharmed afterwards because of stealth.

conjure weapon IS crap since it remove access to you others regular skills. You cant buff crap and expect to get something else than buffed crap.

Sounds like you just don’t know how to use conjured weapons. The idea is to summon, use a few skills, then drop them strategically to re-gain access to your regular skills. Your skills are still available to you at all times, you just have to learn to drop your kit.

Sounds like you don’t pvp. Conjures are utterly, completely, frakking, useless in pvp. No matter how many buffs they give.

Just like non-bunker builds are utter, completely, frakking useless in PvP, right?

For ele yes.
For all other classes no.

If you think Ele’s were nerfed into the ground you need to quit the game and go do something else with your life, because you either can’t see through your own blind bias and understand the actual effects of the changes, or because you’re completely terrible.

Stop being so melodramatic.

(Also – Guardian block bug has been fixed, mesmers don’t bunker very well and had a lot of mobility and targetting changes, and if you think warriors are somehow overpowered I have no kittening clue what to say).

It would do you good to stop using ad hominems which makes your whole argument useless.

Also bunker guardians got BUFFED even.

So stop talking about stuff you know nothing about.

Well apparently “As you can see a lot changed in this build for every profession and we have to test these changes as well.” doesn’t mean that they test changes either.

Dragon’s tooth no longer a blast finisher.
Aura traits no longer working with combo field auras.
Mist form CD reduction STILL NOT FRAKKING WORKING.

At least our conjured weapons got a buff!

The only real nerf was the removal of blast finishers on evasive arcana. But, that was a bug that people took for granted and built their playstyles around.

It also was our only viable spec.

Also boon duration nerfs, healing ripple nerf.

Bunker Ele needed nerfs and Ride the Lightning/Magnetic Grasp needed fixes. Both things happened. Good patch for Elementalists, imo.

Ele also desperately needed buffs in a few trait lines (fire and air).

All classes need improvements to their trait lines. They’ll happen eventually. In this patch they fixed some of the worst Ele bugs and nerfed only what was actually a problem. The changes aren’t particularly interesting, but they were right on target, imo.

You cannot completely gut the only viable build a class has in a patch and not give them a single buff to compensate.

Ele is dead. PVP is dead. This game is dead.

This patch is a frakking joke. I would have been OK with completely destroying bunkers if we got a viable damage option, which we don’t. Fact is evasive arcane was our only viable spec.

Todays patch was make or break. And those lunatics even nerfed eles more and did not give us a single bug. Stay away from this profession. Better yet stay away from the game because anet doesn’t know frak about pvp balancing it seems.

Hopes:
- Fix ALL the bugs
- RTL counts as dodging
- Damage buff and/or cooldown reduce on most of our damage abilities
- Huge underwater damage buff

Expectations:
- Bunker builds get nerfed to the ground
- Evasive arcana no longer a blast finisher

Mist Form and Tornado

With a bunker build tornado is ~16 seconds of “noone contests this point for now” because of all the knockbacks. Other than that it’s aweful, and without a bunker spec you’ll just die while tornadoed.

How a thief can spin really fast can reflect projectiles but a immaterial tornado gets hit by them I’ll never understand.

Suggestions to balance stealth

@Zunhar, that is the current model though. Stealth, with the number of ways to access it is one of the best defensive mechanics in the game and it’s tied to warrior level of burst.

As you’re saying that stealth is the only defensive mechanice, then again put it on par with the longer cd defensive mechanics of other classes. As it is now, specs are littered with the ability to enter into stealth virtually at will. Stealth for 5 inititiative…combined with auto attack damage while rebuilding it is over the top.

As Daays said, Cloak and Dagger, which is the best way to enter stealth, costs 6 initaitve which is half of a Thieves entire skill bar of initiative, so Thieves definitely can’t go into stealth “at will”.
I know where you are coming from. Its frustrating to fight an opponent that you can’t see half the match. The rendering issue should be fixed, and then stealth looked at.
Not to be “that guy”, but if you die to auto attack something is wrong.

Cloak & Dagger also does a frakload of damage. And every selfrespecting stealth thief has 15 points into trickery giving him 15 initiative. And a lot of other traits that give iniative…

No. Vanilla WoW did this and it lead to stuff like having to wait 1 year to get basic design failures/bugs of your class fixed.
