this is how games have been, are, and will continue to be
just as any the majority of any other marketed item

you bought the game knowing full well it would go down in price eventually, or go on sale, or could have failed and been discontinued after you sunk your heart into it, but you bought it because you wanted it when it came out

i was personally expecting a mini-teleport, like a shadowy vanishing animation.

it’s a “dash”…. so, no

but this also isn’t really a “dash”, it’s more like a long-distance-running-nike-warrior-stance, but in a smaller time frame, which is why it looks so clunky in a short burst
it needs to actually dash
not use the same animation for a 1,200 range rush that warrior GS has but just knock off 9,00 range something
i get that it’s a lot of effort to, you know, not copy pasta, but come on
not that i would know what it should look like… but it definitely shouldn’t be recycled doodie

I was expecting more of a lunge or slide instead of ‘really fast running go time.’

also, staff skill 3 “Debilitating Arc” looks just as dumb, it’s just a bash with a faster-than-normal-basic-dodge-roll backward, like, where are you even getting that momentum from while moving your body forward like that,especially when used without an enemy to push off from

All 3 dodges are re-used assets. Lotus is Death blossom,Dash is Warrior Rush, and Bound is that staff skill Vault from what i can tell. It feels like a major bummer to have thief feel so lackluster in the animation.

implying Tempest’s Dagger Storm/ Whirling Axe animation for Fire Overload, the literal /Sit emote in Water Overload, and generic channel on Air Overload are super fantastic
Earth is finally something “different”, but after you’re in the that position, you don’t…. move… it’s just stale and clunky, especially with the drop/rising effects not having… any transition, you just immediately look like that, it seems unfinished

but, i do agree, i dislike the recycled animations on thief, as well, also, the third hit of the auto attack chain on Staff is just the revenant’s staff skill 3 spin , and i really don’t like how it doesn’t flow or look…. normal… at all, it’s just thrown and levitated or something, it just looks as unfinished as the Earth Overload

i hope a lot of these animations are cleaned up across all these so called “new” things…

that said, reading the Bound dodge, next to the one hitting so much harder while using the same animation…. yea… that seems like it’s going to be pretty annoying

The buffs stack. Click – Count 5 – Click – Cancel the transform – Count 5 – Click – Count 5. Just keep stacking them as you run places. As you hop – jump – and otherwise move around just keep clicking and counting while you get places. So 7 to 14 to 21 to 28 etc. Eat a stack of candy corn for hours of buffs!

this is literally what the problem is, though
the sheer time spent doing this is what makes it frustrating and a waste

just fix it to consume multiple stacks of candy corn at once so we save both time clicking and time onTHE SAME BUFFS that we’re trying to get to have a longer duration on

the game initially stated “play how you want to play”
not only was that a fail because of the zerker pve meta, but now you’re further telling him he can’t do it because it’s “too much crap”

craft or buy a legendary to swap stats on only your weapon?
for what?
so you can then have to re-apply a sigil?
have fun with a Sigil of Generosity on a non-crit build you decided to play around with

there needs to be less clutter in this game period
it’s that simple
they already have the tech to do so, clearly, as with legendaries being able to swap to anything
just add what he suggested and be done with it, make someone have to actually do something for one stat rather than give it out for free, adding in sigils/runes

food and potions are also a dumb source of clutter, sure, it’s not a big deal carrying around just 2 things out of a full 8×20 slot bags, but this person wants to have his powerful potions and sigil swaps

being in wvw more than 90% of the time running around with every piece of siege along with a basic counterpart for lack of supply and/or when a superior isn’t needed, and multiple armor sets for roaming/group/zerging, is also absolutely frustrating

the amount of loot dropped is insane when combined with all these issues
blues and greens for days and we have to worry about selling/mixing up things that can’t fit in invisible bags because we have to already have so much stuff in them, then switching out equipment causes it to go to the front of the bags because whynot
(excluding fractal exotic/rare bags)

iMage could run up to a target and do the flame blast from The Prestige. The others could essentially just tick a single pulse of Null Field/Well of Action at their target’s feet without actually placing the field on the ground.

i wouldn’t want my mage in melee range…. but, yes, that’s what i meant by “minor” version, so, i agree, just one pulse at the targets location every so many seconds sounds way more functional, even if it has a delay and doesn’t immediately tick like, say, Lava Font, for as much grief as it gets for not hitting initially, it’s still way better than the horrible projectile hit rate of bouncing shots

having them cast actual spells rather than just throwing stuff at people that never connect
at least it’d still be telegraphed unlike just “targets around this phantasm gain these debuffs/buffs at these intervals”
just…. have them cast it at the target, since… the random spawn location on phantasms obviously wouldn’t go too well if it were on top of the summon….

1 second of swiftness? 1? No, really…1?

Impossible Odds is a pulsing quickness and super speed while you are upkeeping the skill.

Does it trigger the cd of legendswap when out of combat? I’m curious to know if we are going to be able to use it (almost) permanently while ooc.

It’s not intended to be constantly used out of combat, but I think in the version you all get to play this weekend that you’ll be able to do what you said..

Just remove the superspeed part and add condition transfer like it was in original gw1 version of this skill. You wont have to worry about it “unintended part” boosting our move speed outside of combat anymore, while also providing us a viable tool to remove conditions in dps builds – it would also synergy well with Mallyx. Basically 3in1. With phase traverser and chill on sword 2 we dont really need superspeed. We would like to use upkeep abilities before the combat start, disabling it just due to this one skill is simply wrong.

It wouldn’t be disabling anything, just making the legend swap recharge is both in and out of combat so you can’t get back much more energy out of combat then you do in it. Which is something I intended to change anyways.

Having a legend swap recharge ooc sounds kind of clunky, sort of how weapon swap doesn’t have a cooldown ooc. Would it be better if maybe legend swapping ooc just didn’t reset energy to 50?

Arcana reduces attunement cooldowns

even if you ARE using your overloads for a filler next to the trash scepter auto attacks, you’ll be locked out of that attunement for even longer, further reducing your Fresh Air Bursts
especially if using Fire, locking you out of Phoenix for additional seconds on your precious skill?
Water attunement being technically your “dedicated heal” if running signet?

no matter what happens, it won’t do anything elite worthy no matter what you use it for
even shaving a big chunk of cooldown off of 4 ally’s elites or 4 healing skills (if that’s even possible to time it for ALL of them) it is still not going to be even HALF as effective as just doing something that’s actually useful such as having an actual game changing, THREATENING, Tempest-like effect to it, whether that be control, support, or damage, or all three, which it should be

Battle Standard is hugely game changing
Supply Crate is game changing
Timewarp can be game changing
Lichform… can be game changing

reducing ONE cooldown by a small amount for a few allies that hit a short cooldown skill, and a few that used their Battle Standards or Timewarps perhaps?
the big cooldowns still won’t come back fast enough to change anything in any format
the small cooldowns won’t feel like anything changed at all

just an “elite” trait line for…..4 “elites”?

more damage (ticks WAY faster on fire/air,probably even larger radius)

more defense (really? protection? auras? swiftness? LUCID SINGULARITY??? how is the toughness/vitality bonus even compared to that since these aren’t even an elite skill)

lower cooldowns (…………)

water even gives a healing option

only thing they lack are some inconsistent knockbacks for whoever was dumb enough to stand next to you swirling around as a big “i’m here” sign for 2 seconds or whenever it ticked next
or when you stood still for the giant rock/cow to hit you

~we don’t need more offhand competition

~we don’t need more support or melee role competition

~shouts won’t compete with cantrips, a teleport, a complete invulnerability, a big cleanse, or mass stability+protection is just way too important in every single format to pass up

~the elite is only sort of decent for big cooldowns but will still be almost trash compared to fiery greatsword’s mobility or even a fire/water elemental damage/healing

overloads look alright for the defensive traits and effects they’re getting, but being forced into melee range with a big “hit me” sign is just Tornado all over again, and we all know all too well about the cries for that to change

what i’m seeing in this post is warhorn hate
not tempest

i, for one, am looking forward to 4 additional spells as a staff ele in wvw….. even if they are mediocre at best
using the earth overload specifically for the breakbar
having immunity to chill/cripple/immobilize during the rest of the channels if i’m attempting to retreat from poor position choices, especially the water one providing a bit of extra healing
not to mention shock and magnetic aura
mmmmm

the elite skill brings healing rain or meteor shower cooldowns down a chunk, too
also focus’ obsidian flesh
/dagger for ride the lightning or fire grab/earthquake/cleansing wave cooldowns sound hefty for such big skills

just figures the elite has a cast time and can’t be used so quickly for when you need those important reaction-based-skills…..

along with using it when a Banner is called….. and hope they get it, still clunky problems, but, the option is there

everyone is currently hating warhorn for the most part, so that’s the problem, not “tempest” so much

Even so, I would have just blocked and reported him for verbal. And if he’s exploiting the golem thing, then there’s no much else you can do but report him for that too.

you can get a players name by blocking them with right click or inviting to party by targetting and pressing P

and, yes, you should report him, because very clearly in your video he has the buff
if he’s harassing you and calling you a “pus”, too, then report for verbal abuse
which… is silly, since, he’s the one abusing an exploit like that….. but beside the point

unfortunately, reporting people never does anything, apparently, since threats and trash talk and exploits are quite common in the servers we face and nothing ever happens to these players that are reported repeatedly by multiple players

as with most above, i’m actually quite glad it’s warhorn, as it fits well with an idea of a Tempest/Stormcaller motif

biggest problem is the subpar ranged mainhand option we have
mainhand warhorn would have been fun though…….
but being forced into melee range just to use an offhand weapon is more than just a bit of a disappointment

Scepter is almost complete trash at its given max range
only thing it’s ever used for is fresh air bursts which pretty much requires phoenix at melee range
dagger has a range to it, but it’s also rarely ever seen at anything further than absolute melee

if they tweak scepter autos to make them noticeable in a fight, merge air 2 and 3, add a new one, turn dust devil into something threatening, then make shatterstone worth casting, then, sure, by all means, go ahead and add another offhand

also of note:
there’s a trait to improve outgoing healing on legend swap…. but the cast time of the tablet plus the activation times gives you even less of a window to make it worth using over an aoe cleanse on dodge, or outright 1s regen from the orbs

i sort of agree with the summon on legend swap, but i disagree that it doesn’t heal much when moved or that it should auto follow
over 800 without healing power/any traits for it is a lot
if it were to act like shouts, then the cooldown would start immediately, which would make it very powerful

right now looking at the numbers without cast time it should heal for 800/2s or 400/s, that’s pretty hefty, more than healing signet, i think, right?
though, there’s also the cast delay along with cooldown starting after the cast rather than when pressed, making it much less effective, and spamming it causes you to lose out on actively attacking, which the main thing in this game

on the auto follow part:
the command to “follow” is not “follow” as you seem to think, it moves it to a targeted location, that’s entirely different
the bubble denying a location of projectiles is perfect for this game and this legendary’s role, and the elite, which…. is a little underwhelming for the knockback, could prove its worth for an area denial effect that they wanted it to be used for in the first place

tldr:
the ground target moving is fine, and i do personally believe the healing as it is now is really good on moving it, just, it needs to be uncapped like other line skills to actually make it worth it, since it moves in a line, and it might make revenants more important for restacks in wvw
it also shouldn’t take so long to move it….since it takes away from your damage
the summon on legend swap is iffy…..
having to summon it prevents instant use heals like Natural Harmony already is, or if they were to have the movement be instant
this also means it can be interrupted, which is important to both sides of the playing field

i like the idea of “system” itself, honestly
they wanted you to have pros and cons to choosing traits now, since you can’t even replace higher tier traits for lower ones
along with giving us baseline “more” choices because of more trait points in total, it “should” have given us more options

but it’s just not doing that
there’s still “best in slot” for the majority of it which is what makes it so unfortunate

and, as you said, the removal of some things (glamour traits, also on-clone-death ones were a really cool idea, besides the fact that everyone hated it)
is a bit much

however i disagree with mantras, if you were implying they got hit like glamours
i absolutely loved mantras before and now i’m enjoying them even more, ESPECIALLY with the recharge update, which i still hope is intended

p.s. Even when anet hotfixed the trait by disabling it we were still able to melt doors pvd while being fired on by multiple arrow carts and meteor showers because of our numbers and symbol aoe heals, so ya GG and sorry.

did you see the stream where they said the poison was reduced by 1s because “in practice it was just insane” or something like that?

it’s probably because their “in practice” means testing on the golems in spvp lobby
they probably got 35 stacks of poison by spamming it on the stationary golems that don’t attack and thought it was gamebreaking

now by spamming it on the golems you can only get around 20-25 stacks

Obviously they don’t want heal-mers? In seriousness, I’ll again say that the obsession with ICDs that ANet’s side displays ruins the heck out of (potentially) fun things.
Not to mention, but was H. Prism healing for that much? I’ve not personally tested it, but Mesmers don’t typically heal like -say- Elementalists.

simple answer:
it WAS healing for “that much”
with vampiric presence it was getting over 1,000 aoe healing a second from simply spamming Spatial Surge, more if you peirced multiple targets, let alone a full 5
without even having any healing power at all

already made a post about Healing Prism which started to go into a discussion
but there was a hotfix that said it changed vapiric presence to be used from the necromancer as the user, probably for other bugs, but this one as well should have been fixed
it wasn’t
they clearly just added the internal cooldown because they still couldn’t fix it
however, as someone else posted somewhere i don’t remember, it’s not even healing as much as regen does even if you proc it every cooldown, so it’s pretty worthless right now

Unholy Martyr and Minions?

earlier today i was running around wvw with both and i was like WHY ISN’T EVERYONE DOING THIS I NEVER LEAVE DEATH SHROUD
in zergs or soloing (course, i realize how unreliable random wvw folk are)

buttttttt after more playing around, it obviously does have its own problems
some of it being stuck in those two traitlines
but primarily the minion AI, so i tried running with signets/other utility, and it was… not worth it

legit minion AI is the only thing holding minion masters back from being extremely strong
even before these new traitlines, though

Healing Prism + Vampiric Presence

I don’t know if Vampiric Aura or Prismatic Healing controlled the amount healed, but it would have been enough to make it scale with the skill coefficient to “fix” it or just make it work like engineer’s Medical Dispersion Field that has not been nerfed so it must be ok I guess.

But instead of working out a proper fix for this, they went for the easy way, “slap an ICD on it and be done with it”.

Such a nice trait has now been rendered completely irrelevant by a sloppy workaround.

first part, not really, it only healed about 250ish without healing power, so that’s horrible, but it was broken af if you beam spammed/aoe’d 3+ people

but pretty much the second half , yes

what I meant is that was wrong in the first place to have a fixed amount healed every time you healed yourself… it should have been a percentage of the healing you did to yourself, that way would have scaled easily with all the tiny effects from vampiric aura, foods, etc

but as a minor, with less effectiveness

i like the trait,especially as a minor, but it’s too iffy with all the things being said here

i mean honestly it WAS broken af
if you just spammed auto attack through at least 3 targets, never mind 5, that’s somewhere around, what, like, 3,000 a second without any healing power at all?

it clearly needed to not work like that
it does feel a little worthless now, though….
but someone mentioned 1.5k healing with healing power?
per 10 seconds doe, kinda meh
but a little bit better than nothing

not to get off topic, but, i do agree the “nerfs” are a bit out of hand, though
removing one stack of torment off Maim but keep allowing engineers/elementalists/guardians to pump out 15+ stacks of burning….

but the synergy with Vampiric Presence that clearly was an unintended feature was a bit much and should have been fixed
……with the presence
not so much the trait itself just because they couldn’t figure out how to make it stop working with the presence….

Mirror trait frustrating

don’t get me wrong, i love the idea of having more reflects, but, is anyone else having a really aggravating time using blink while in stealth and suddenly being revealed by bouncing projectiles/projectiles in general
or going to hit Mass Invisibility and someone already launched one/rapid fire starts

i mean, i know i could just NOT blink while in stealth, but, still, Mass Invisibility

it kind of defeats the purpose of having a reflect on a stealth skill if it reveals you…
it just seems so counter-productive

almost like the signet trait, our signets stun/blind/moa on the fast cast ones, or they take too long to activate to be reactive, but we get invulnerability…….. like, why…
