As awesome as this sounds….it’ll be nerfed within, well by the time I wake up tomorrow morning along with all forms of burning and anything pink and butterfly producing.
yes, obviously, i wouldn’t say “nerf” as much as it will be “fixed”
since….how is that intended……….
but, just something fun while it lasts….
while we’re talking about it….
anyone feel this is underwhelming in its “intended” state?
assuming it heals with restorative mantras and each heal proc, and heal on shatter
is it worth it?
course it’s also a minor, so, it’s free…

every hit you make heals allies for around 300
can i throw money at my screen to have this stay
I always felt like when designing medium armor, they made it all for engineer or thief and forgot that rangers existed.
Who romps through the woods and ranges across open lands in a coat that gets caught on every passing branch and stick?
And who the heck tinkers around in a workshop in a coat that’ll get stuck in a turret gear and pull you into the machinery?
And who the heck tries to break into places with a big ruffly coat that makes noise and restricts stealthy movement?
Heck, the tattered long coats seems to fit a trapper/hunter/mountain main kind of look more than anything else, seems like they’re meant for rangers.
In other words, the coats fit NO class, knock it off, art team!

+1
i was going to mention all of this but deleted my comment since you typed it up just moments before i finished mine
the first question is actually something i’d like to know, myself
on fear vs taunt in general, though, i’d imagine it works just how normal CC works now
if you knock down/blow out a foe, then they get feared, they will just revert their animation and start running away
so, if they’re feared, then get taunted, they’ll be taunted, if taunted then feared, they will be feared
but the F2 that causes both fear and taunt…. does make me wonder if something will change on the wolf itself, since, that’s pretty worthless unless it taunted, then feared, or vice-versa, waste of a trait slot for that pet pretty much if not
i don’t wanna read all of the posts but upon quick searching i saw no mention of “5 guards” or “100% quickness uptime”
can we taco bout this
5 guardians rotating this for 100% quickness uptime when traited/possible boon duration in place of traitfor pve you do not even need to rotate it. haste is a buff now. it stacks in duration.
Oh, so you’ve played the beta? How many stacks of quickness can be applied before it starts replacing older stacks?
shhhhh easy does it
no need to start arguments over nothing, he’s not disagreeing with me at least
let’s just bathe in the 100% quickness uptime
i don’t wanna read all of the posts but upon quick searching i saw no mention of “5 guards” or “100% quickness uptime”

on the Ready up, at 2:12:30 in, Kui mentions Natural Regeneration’s healing power increases “the rate at which they res someone a little” (then pointing out Allie’s Aid casting Search and Rescue)
healing power currently does not improve resurrecting speeds, correct?
does that mean it’s going to in this update, or did he make an oopsie?
thats kittening stupid. its already not strong enough why make it not stack.
pfffffffahahahahaha
ahahahaha
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
however i do agree that heavily investing in the duration should actually apply it in full
but it’s no where near “not strong enough” with on-interrupt traits and the 5s cooldown on an instant daze
it’s like being a guild wars 1 Psychic Distraction mesmer all over again
jester with bombs?
love it
reminds me of the Gauntlet series
i would suggest playing around with your bank’s wardrobe, opinions are opinions
unfortunate the Harlequin mask is light-specific….
just logged in to look, i don’t see the problem, as someone stated, there’s grenades hanging from grenade kit, and a bomb on the bomb kit
this made me check out the other kits, though
the real issue is:
has anyone noticed Tool Kit uses the same model as the Bomb Kit?
it has a bomb and the satchel which are both unused for Tool Kit
and either that’s a rope or a fuse, but i’ll assume it’s a fuse since ropes are also not used
Well they won’t be dashing away as quickly as before, so it’s not a complete loss.
Yeah except warriors will be able to roleplay as Usain Bolt in PvP with chill and cripple on them, because it makes so much sense for somebody limping around in agony to be able to leap and dash the same distance as he would in a healthy state.

can i upvote this 500 times
can i upvote this then quote then upvote my own post because of how much yesing i’m doing right now
i suppooooose
still the way people put it is a little annoying sometimes
as to OP, it obviously seems like they’re slowly adding all of the Gods as types of “items” such as the backpacks and these regalias
i do like the idea of Abaddon mixing in with them
that and possibly something for Kormir, even though i don’t personally like her, others may, it’s just kinda sad seeing her having a spell named after her but no other noteworthy appearance
i’ve also been wondering this a lot, myself
just adding, i’d obviously suggest NEVER channeling mantras while split, since, clearly, channeling them first, then releasing them while split is the better option
then reward yourself by farming gold in whatever you consider being the content you want to be rewarded in and exchanging it for gems to purchase it
like can we not do this
they need to make money somehow
No, Ventari is not ridiculously overpowered. It excels at healing, but other supports excel at functionalities the Ventari Revenant does not.
- Ventari Revenants excel at ally healing much more than self-healing. Other support choices – like a Guardian, Elementalist, or Shoutbow – can be made much more survivable and much less likely to fold to pressure.
- Revenants, with their currently announced options, have little in the way of escape mobility or out-of-combat mobility. This, coupled with some of their other issues, makes them highly fragile in PvP.
- Ventari Revenants lack long-term or multi-stack stability and are forced to make a painful choice to stun break. If their dodge roll stability proves insufficient, the only way to break a stun is to swap legends – thereby losing their healing functions or otherwise swapping at an inopportune time.
- Ventari offers no boons (well, okay, it offers Regeneration when traited, but Regeneration is generally pretty poor). Hell, the overall ability of the Revenant to provide boon support is remarkably low.
- Ventari provides a deflect, not a reflect. This isn’t a huge deal in WvW and PvP where the defensive functions of this skill will have great potential, but in PvE, this effectively makes the skill a second rate choice compared to Guard options.
- Revenants must provide a full third of their bar to become these “overpowered” healers and can only be this while channeling a particular legend – and probably only with a particular trait line.
- From a PvE standpoint, heals are weak in Vanilla GW2 content. Bosses are frequently capable of one-shotting players. Players are often capable of providing themselves with sufficient healing and dodging to survive. Meaning that the only real use of this healing tends to be against pressure damage, which is rare in PvE content. Will this be different for the new content? We don’t know that yet, but unless the core game changes, might-stacking, protection, aegis, vigor, and reflects will all be stronger forms of support that the Revenant does not have access to.
If anything, Ventari is nothing but a one-trick wonder.
everyone should just read this post and go home

this has been extremely frustrating for me, as well, as i use an “ambient” playlist and listening to soothing music during an intense wvw fight gets really aggravating
i reported this weeks ago, i was going to start a forum post, but assumed it was on my end
-shrug-
hopefully it fixes soon
as a side note on audio, Death Shroud removing music during fights also irks me
i didn’t add tracks to the built-in playlist to be turned off entirely, if i wanted that, i could have just used a music player and paused it
should at least get quieter with the sound effects playing, rather than be turned off

I know I said I was going to stay out of it, but I just wanted to say that part of the disappointment (for me) is that all of the mid tier trait choices are ‘meh.’ They kept touting themed lines with the reaper spec, but the mid tier is just sort of thrown in there like they didn’t know where else to put them. If they swapped arcane energy and arcane shield, you could say that that you were focusing on an evasion-centric build by picking up renewing stamina (vigor on crit), arcane energy (25 endurance gain and recharge reduction on skill that guarantee crits), and evasive arcana to use all that endurance up with. Then arcane shield, contingency, and Elatt could be themed around taking hits.
The most frustrating part imo was not that they made you choose between the EAs but rather the lack of synergy in the rest of the line based around that important choice.
this exactly
dat “Wind skill”
Elementalist air staff should have that in place of Gust… disgusting skill………..
but, on topic
i do extremely like the idea of at least one Legendary being able to have an elite that changes weapon skills, that would be a really great addition
I don’t think it’ll be hard to land, really. With CS and Shattered Concentration you can just get a couple clones up and F3, and chances are you will strip or forcibly remove Stab, and then a Daze/Stun will land and possibly interrupt.
Or any shatter plus MoD, or combo MoD with any other CC first to remove the stab. It’s not like we don’t have multiple options there. ;-)
speaking of which
what happens if you have Shattered Concentration, and Confounding Suggestions, then daze a target that has 1 stack of Stability with Diversion with 1 clone?
does your Confounding Suggestions, being a 100% chance to proc, start cool down immediately, so a quick Power Lock wouldn’t be able to stun?
or would it not count as a “when you daze a target” because they…. weren’t dazed
probably too soon to ask since it’s not even testable yet, but…. note worthy… to myself, at least
There is no reason Super Adventure Box shouldn’t just be permanent content at this point unless they’re actually committed to making it a yearly festival which they clearly aren’t. They’re too attached to the Living World Season 1 mindset, which was never a great mindset to begin with.
It would make so many people happy if we had something like Super Adventure Box to tide us over until Heart of Thorns finally comes out. They don’t even need to update it. I don’t really get to play it when it came out and am dying for a chance to really get into it again.
I wouldn’t even say they’re still in “the Living World Season 1 mindset,” as they clearly grew out of that mindset with Season 2 being permanently available. At least with Season 1, they have the excuse that all those events were tied to real-time situations and stories, open-world events, and it wouldn’t really be possible to bring them back in the same way without it being anachronistic and contradictory.
In SAB’s case, there is nothing about it that ties it to a specific world state, period, or time of the year. SAB wasn’t destroyed at any point. Nothing happened in the world of Tyria to disrupt of deactivate it. It’s not being held captive by Mordremoth. It didn’t run on Zhaitan batteries. There is literally no good reason why SAB shouldn’t be in the game, right now. Even if ANet doesn’t want to actively work on new worlds for SAB, that is no reason to block off access to what was already finished — especially when so many people are clamoring for it, and are strongly disappointed in the company’s decision (not to mention those who bought the Infinite Continue Coin).
There are some people who offer the rather silly excuse that “If they made it permanent, people would eventually get bored and not play it.” Frankly, that is an insane thing to say — you might as well say the same thing about every single thing in GW2. No new exp-mode paths for dungeons? Better remove dungeons from the game, then, before people get bored! No new events in Frostgorge? Bin it! No new ranger pets? Remove pets from the game. No new factals in development? DELETE!
Anyone who doesn’t enjoy SAB doesn’t have to play it. It wouldn’t be doing the game any harm, to just be there, available for those who enjoy it. Furthermore, if it were permanent and not on a limited-time basis, then we could actually enjoy playing it at our leisure, rather than worry about begrudgingly farming it as much as humanly possible before it disappears for another 2 years.
everything in this post
you’re not forced into using staff
you’re immobile while using hundred blades in melee range
you’re mobile while using rapid fire with 1,500+ range with the arc
wat
i’m guessing you come from a pve point of view, but in that case, that has its own flaws, where MOST classes and different styles of play are rendered useless or otherwise completely unwanted in most groups
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
my poor asura….
went from a relentless jumping spin to… “hey, taxi”
Siren pls
Siren’s Call has the most beautiful spell effect in the game, (personally, of course)
we need more of this, and on land, so bad
bad enough they effectively removed underwater combat from pvp so those of us that enjoy this, can’t even enjoy it
can it last if you exit the shroud?
if so, then, i suppose i agreeYes, Robert confirmed it in the livestream. So yay!!
And that defiance bar probably goes to the golden child Warrior
I thought he confirmed that it stayed if you broke the armor to induce fear. I don’t think he said anything about leaving DS entirely.
For your clarification:
https://youtu.be/DjOrs5krQRw?t=27m20s
“however many stacks were lingering”
so unfortunately, not the pulsing itself
but, still, pretty great
Let’s be honest though, Reaper Shroud 3 is stronger than any form of defiance we ever would have gotten.
i’m not complaining that it isn’t beastly, i just think defiance bar would be much more threatening for a “horror movie monster”
but
as people have stated
i agree
i’m perfectly content with the amount of stability we have now
can it last if you exit the shroud?
if so, then, i suppose i agree
as if it wasn’t sad enough to not see “Banshee”, from an opinion based point of view, our “slow horror movie monster” spec won’t even get the most scary thing thing for something so slow, the defiance bar
what ever gets it sure better have a really good reason for it…
hopefully it’s not just me that’s upset about that, didn’t see a post for it, pls join me in the crying qq so i don’t feel so alone in this
The true price is in real world money. The gold price is ANet allowing players to get things for free. ANet, after all, is a business. They don’t make money off of forum complaints and abuse alone.
If you think ANet is expensive, try other game’s prices. WoW charges a monthly fee and then charges $25 to transfer one character to another server. Transferring a whole account can cost hundreds of dollars.

this
this bothers me, too. i use the in-game custom soundtrack in guild wars 2, so upon entering battle, other games’ OST will play, and leaving will turn it off, because i personally don’t like having a constant stream of battle music, or, as it has been said, heavy metal music, where the hype of the battle ends, but the song continues, so i dislike using a media player for it
and almost nothing is more frustrating than listening to Necrofantasia from Touhou, reaching an intense moment of the boss’s loud song, to simply fade into death shroud’s….quiet bed time noises while breaking out of a stun in wvw zergs
(of course it’s also bothersome when the music doesn’t play at all….but that’s a separate problem)
i actually really love the idea of a full Legend for each race, didn’t even think of that
it’s only 4 skills each, not unlike what they did with the Engineer
i assumed this thread was, as mentioned by the op them self, talking about simply swapping out current revenant skills for existing racial skills
even if the entire legend is horrible, it’s not like the existing racial skills are in a perfect position, either, so, why not…minus the fact that it might also remove the swapping-in-already-existing-ones, since, as noted by someone, people do like the Battle Roar and Hidden Pistol, and i can only assume Sylvari’s immobilize is helpful in specific situations
i just dislike having to run back for bags after a big wvw fight when something’s being attacked, but, who cares, right?
as long as people think they’re so cool for thinking spamming an aoe loot button is so easy, and it’s the same thing as automating entire gameplay, they’re always right, because they’re just SO SUPER COOL AND I’M SO JEALOUS THAT THEY KNOW THERE’S NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LOOTING AND PLAYING THE GAME
just add an “inject loot to bags” button if inventory has space, nobody on a real playing level wants to waste time picking up stuff when things are happening in-game
ahahahahhhaahhaahahahahaha
those darned necromancers and their evasion tactics of dodge rolling twice in a row making me think it’s only going to be once
they explain it in the comments of how to get it to work, but, basically,my guess is the game isn’t designed to have things falling down onto walls,so it’ll look for a “floor”,the ceiling just has a weird bug
this works in wvw and other areas, but you have to know them to get it to work, for things like Meteor Shower, ect, you can land all,if not most,in the same exact location,or make them much more centralized,by using them in weird positions
i’ve gotten my fair share of kills with Meteor Shower on someone on a cliff area,or above the EB blue keep dome by having them all land in the same spot
could have sworn i read/heard somewhere the specializations will only be using the new weapon given to them,as the non-specializations will not be using the weapons, meaning, the shield “mesmers” will get will not change the current mesmer playstyle, because they won’t be able to use it
could have heard wrong
would like clarification
this was changed a LONG time ago, and, yes, nobody likes sounding like a toilet, but anet doesn’t care what we like
not sure if you mean pve, spvp or wvw, but, for one thing, the damage loss is negligible, because if you manage your other attunement cooldowns, you could just swap to air when you’ve used your water support skills (which, well, air SHOULD have more damage, which is the problem with staff/scepter,water isn’t the problem, but that’s a different topic) and earth for the heavy-hitting skills (eruption, churning earth, ring of earth, even magnetic wave has high damage for being instant)
maybe even make sure you have fire or air finished before entering water if you’re having that much trouble deciding if you should use it or not
for another thing, not sure what you’re talking about “only life-giving” as i never heard that been said in this game, but,Ice Spike hits like truck,Frozen Burst and Comet are blast finishers for might stacking, and fury,if traited, and frost aura reducing damage by 10% along with chill is very powerful for defense and offense in nearly any situation
Shatterstone needs to be stronger, yes,of course, everyone knows this part, they keep updating it but it’s still never really worth it
so there are offensive uses to water attunement, and the support can definitely be worth it to remove conditions with healing rain and cleansing wave, the heals may seem useless without healing power, but they definitely add up for being fairly quick to cast, especially for not being a class-specific heal, and they’re all AoE for allies, that extra healing can help a disengage go much more smoothly, pve,or wvw,i don’t spvp much but can only imagine if you can hide behind some of the terrain until your healing skill recharges
especially spamming Water Blast in front of yourself while running
even with 0 healing power,400 per blast is more than regeneration at 1,200+ healing power
(edited by Alpha.1308)
more like staff air attunement
fire, water, and earth all are perfectly fine in pve, spvp, and wvw
Shockwave could use an update on its ability to hit, however
but still
blinding surge and gust are just horrendous to use
chain lightning is alright,semi-homing and multi-target,easier to land than fireball against mobile targets
windborne speed and static field already have more than useful effects
windborne being able to remove chill is godly in certain situations of pvp
static field having no target limit in wvw is the best thing ever
but dem skills 2 and 3 doe….these should have been fixed WAY earlier in development of this game period….not 2+ years later that we’re still waiting for
(edited by Alpha.1308)
This is the Dev team that changed Mimic to …. that skill I never use and try to forget used to be helpful in fractals and solo dungeon running..
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Smiter%27s_Boon_
/enough said
got hit from extremely small damage procs from “bolt” according to combat log
what is this from exactly?
first thing’s first:
you can change anything at any time,so you won’t “jump in too far”
and if it’s the class in general that you’re having trouble deciding on because you hear it’s not working too well, if you’re playing alone/with friends, just remember to play the way you want to have fun,not what everyone’s obsessing over being the “most balanced/overpowerful due to current updates/patches”,especially if you just want to play around the game and enjoy it without trying to rush through it all
that said, minions can definitely be extremely frustrating because they stop attacking, but when they do attack, they are completely worth using, even if you don’t build for them in your traits, people trait for other utilities such as reduced cooldown simply because they want to have them on their bar,but barely activate them, minions will at least continue to add some damage and might even block some projectiles for you, regardless of what traits you choose, they’re free “signets” if you will, small damage and possible meat shield instead of adding a “passive” that you can kind of set-it-and-forget-it
(edited by Alpha.1308)
1) summon bone minions
2) press 1 then hit escape on the moving golem in spvp
3) K
why does this exist
is it really too much to ask for our weakest minions to be able to hit stuff, let alone actually even start attacking
the only ones who benefit from “no white swords” are ppl trying to ninja objectives against under-populated servers.
So your dishonestly claiming that absolutely no one at all, benefits by being capable of ninja taking keeps now unless they are against under populated servers?
It’s not a step in the right direction, it’s the exact opposite: it encourages all the wrong types of gameplay.
It is absolutely a step in the right direction as I see it.
“a step in the right direction” is forcing players to take turns (assuming people even do rotations, others being spread so thin don’t get this luxury) of sitting in a tower getting no rewards/enjoyment out of the game they bought
wasting boosters/food buffs/free time to play
