(6000 character limit omg i’m so sorry for the wall of text)

Good point, this means condi Mirage in PvE will have another way to swap targets quickly!

…. again, if you want 3 torch phantasms up on a target, be my guest, i just don’t see the appeal of using a 30s cooldown utility to move clones, or even axe 3, for that matter

It seems your problem isn’t with lack of new mechanics, but rather the mechanics we did end up getting with Mirage. Mirage gets a new dodge/ambush skills and can re-target illusions.

……… ok, thank you for repeating what i and many others have been saying, nobody is complaining that the new dodge isn’t good, because it actually really is good, yes, i agree

but it just “adds on” to the theme the mesmer already had going for it, which is a slippery duelist, it didn’t “change” how a mesmer will affect a fight, which is the initial argument that the e-spec “adds nothing new”

the “re-targeting” seems good on paper, until it’s put into a real situation, where it just seems like it’s not worth giving up what you already have to use it
(for what it seems, i’ll admit, i’m getting a more biased opinion from what i saw from my like only 2 spvp matches and more time spent in small scale wvw roaming and some ktraining)

The problem isn’t with the design, but rather with the specific values and balancing of the skills.

The only case where re-targeting is desired but can’t be achieved is with power based phantasm builds, because axe won’t be run and the CD on the utility skill is too long. However, Mirage isn’t really meant to be a power based build. With some tweaking on Ambush skills and a reduced CD on the utility skill, it could become semi viable.

i actually immediately saw a delicious power-based build to be running, simply being able to use that flashy new dodge mechanic alone, and just Jaunt… existing, and that sword ambush with an AMAZING leap and daze, but, that’s a pvp bias i guess
even still, it still looked disappointing, as i knew it wasn’t going to be changing how i played, it was just 3 new escape/engage tools, that’s like getting 3 different skills for the entire e-spec, like…. that’s really upsetting

i just don’t see number tweaks being very flavor inducing, but i can only hope you’re right, because, as many have pointed out, it’s clearly too late for them to be doing any real mechanical changes
the Greatsword Ambush definitely needs to be looked at, hopefully they’ll fix clone Sword Ambush proccing interrupt traits, but all in all, it still doesn’t feel like anything but a mesmer, where every other class feels much different from the core class

thief gets 1,200 range

ele gets….. dance dance revolution

engineer gets a whole new melee kit and incredibly strong utility skills and traits that actually have decisions (that laser disk utility alone is probably stronger than a mind wrack x3…) but let’s not compare classes because, comparing classes is bad in a skill-to-skill sense, i understand that

warrior gets to be a mesmer from GW1 (??)

necro gets the support build that they’ve lacked, while still having heavy damage (all F skills mashed together each crit for like 2k i don’t even care what people say that’s op asf and will probably get an ICD you absolutely dominate downed control with those shades)

guardian gets 3 entire new skill bars for offense/defense

ranger gets rid of their entire pet mechanic for stats and access to 6 skills (at once) to play around with

rev gets…. an elite skill that looks like it could be its own class by itself…….

mesmer gets……………… a dodge roll to supplement their already powerful ability to avoid damage, lackluster traits, utilities that look as uneventful as Well of Precognition, and a powerful elite that is still probably outshined in pvp with Moa, PvE with Time Warp, and only usable in WvW, which is already anet’s joke of a game mode (that happens to be my favorite)

i’m not saying what mirage got was bad (even though the majority of it is), i even specifically stated earlier that it just feels like a core class line, because it does, it feels like mechanics we should have had at the start, re-targeting is something we should have had access to day 1 with a mechanic that relies on creatures on cooldowns

i dunno, i apologize, i ranted a lot there and probably sounded ruder than intended (lot of salt), but i hope that gets my point across more that it’s more about a “different style of play” and not just “new skills” that every class gets anyway

i’ll start off by saying i apologize in advance for lengthy post, and that i don’t mean to sound rude for the most part, as most of it, i admit, was my poor way of explaining things

Mesmers only have 3 illusion to be able to re-target…?

i meant a 30 second cooldown to move 3 illusions is bad
it’s not like Axe 3 gets multiple charges, which that might at least help with bouncing between fast-dying targets, which would mean it “moves 6 illusions” for pve purposes, pvp would get roflstomped

You can use the abilities to re-target your illusions, such as on the mini/sub bosses at Vale Guardian when he splits, and Gorseval when he summons the charged souls etc.

These are all new things.

as above stated, hurray, a few situational fights where maybe it’ll improve some form of dps

I never said mirage or core mesmer was free of problems

fair enough

I simply corrected some of your misinformation on Mirage’s mechanics.

lost me here, by linking 1 good skill (axe) and a bad skill (utility)?
that’s not really my misinformation, so much as it’s your misunderstanding, or my lack of explaining, which, i apologize

by “bound to a target” i mean, illusions are holding us back in the AoE department, not to mention target swapping, we rely on cooldowns to switch our damage to another target, instead of being able to launch other meaningful cooldowns at something else at whim, our entire profession mechanic is reliant on destructibles focused on one enemy

we have shatters and Illusionary Berserker, sure, but these aren’t anywhere near the AoE potential of other classes, their functionality to be destroyed before even doing anything severely hinders their potential, not to mention with the variability in any given match, if i drop Grenades, Lava Font, Wells, anything, at a downed target, i know my damage will be there, it’s a reliable way of AoEing, sticking on that target and pressuring anything that tries to rally it
but….. if i shatter, or throw an Illusionary Berserker at them, will my illusions get there before mobs/players move from my target so i actually hit more than 1 target? will they get cleaved and not do any damage at all? will there be a knock back/area denial ability preventing them from reaching their destination?
it’s a mechanic based on a creature, and it’s clunky in a lot of scenarios

i don’t hate it, god no, i’ve loved illusions since the beginning, but my argument was that this e-spec adding nothing “new” for the class

Do you mean shattering is worthless in PvP, or that the effect of re-targeting your illusions is worthless in PvP?

shattering is fine in pvp, obviously, the re-targeting is where it gets iffy, re-targetting illusions into cleave just to die still leaves a borked mechanic borked
if you somehow kept those illusions alive, re-target them, and burst someone else down while they think you’re on another target….. congratulations, your cooldowns where apparently already up to have set up a burst on the first target and… what has that really added to the class?
if you have 3 phantasms up, shame on the enemy, they were dead anyway, if not, you’d still have want to summon another sword/zerker for their initial damage to add in your window of opportunity, clones are nearly useless to re-target in this situation, why would we not just run Deceptive Evasion? heck, even Mirror Images does a better job than that gross thing we got at that point

If you are going to run Mirage in PvE, I can’t imagine you would run a sword over axe. Mirage doesn’t bring anything to the table for direct DPS mesmers, so either Mirage won’t be taken at all, or you’ll run a condition damage version of mirage.

Once we get access to the new elite specs in the Special Forces Training Area we can better judge the DPS of Mirage, and hence the developers will be able to better tweak the duration and intensity of the conditions.

this is the problem, yes, thanks, it (possibly) won’t be taken because it offers nothing (known)

BUT, once again, fair point, i agree, we don’t know how exactly it’ll work in PvE, if anything it will be tuned before release, just, my experience with trying to use axe with power has left a -salty- (cries) taste in my mouth, and this is where this discussion comes from

POF dodge worth ?

Alpha.1308

Super Speed (should) negate cripple/chill
(nobody can dodge while immobilized, cept DD, so, that’s more or less fine)
and it (should) alleviate the lack of distance traveled from a real dodge roll

only problem is, the Super Speed doesn’t last long enough

all they need to do is up the blur duration and Super Speed duration and it’s probably fine
it’s still tricky trying to “roll” back, left, or right, because backpeddling is so much slower, and if you’re trying to cast, you’ll have to backpeddle instead of actually turning all the way around to run that way, if you really need to get out of a damaging field/ dangerous spot in a pinch, and are used to just dodging backward out of it

problem is, increasing the blur duration could have some wonky, unforeseen side effects, like making bunker mesmer even more of a disease like chrono was when Well of Precognition wasn’t the Smiter’s Boon of this game

From a WvW perspective I had a ton of fun with it and can see so many bright spots and plays that it can make.

… doing what? honestly curious

i’m guessing nothing a core mesmer couldn’t already do, with some new shiny trinkets, primarily an anti CC i-frame and Jaunt

1v1ing people also practicing the e-specs who don’t know what they’re doing?

fighting people who don’t know how to play against the new e-specs?

they still offer nothing to groups, small or large, same as core mesmer, relying on illusions that blow up before you can get your “profession mechanic” skills off, unless you lolburst something, which core mesmer and chrono can ALREADY do

they still are good duelists, because it’s a core mesmer with even more dueling fluff, you could run any trait line and get just as much out of it with the dueling aspect, you’re only gaining i-frames while CC’d, and…….. i…. don’t even know what else, if you’re running a condi build, you get more burst from ambush, maybe, but chrono shatter already does enough, and if it doesn’t, they probably wouldn’t have died anyway and it did nothing better than a chrono shatter

you get jaunt, whoopee
it’s flashy, new, and pretty, fun to use except its range that’s worse than a Daredevil dodge, but it’s still just a “meh” addition

the entire specialization is such a minor fluff line, it shouldn’t be their “elite” spec
e-specs were supposed to add something that the core class didn’t have

this is nothing but a core mesmer trait line

this is why people are upset

every other class this expansion gets brand new class mechanic abilities(SSSS multiple)

we get a dodge that looks like core mesmer should have had, and are still stuck with illusions which are a horrible mechanic in half of the game modes
(bad vs pve trash, only semi-useful on bosses, garbage in large scale pvp, good in small scale pvp)

i’ve heard a lot of people having success with mirage, but they’ve only been doing what core mesmer/chrono could have done anyway, this isn’t the biggest issue of why people are upset, minus some clunky mechanics, and traits that need to be reworked, it’s the fact that it adds nothing new for mesmers to play with besides like 2 okay-ish additions with Jaunt and the Dodge/Elusive Mind

e-specs were SUPPOSED to add something new, mesmer being bound to a target is so obnoxious to deal with

https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Axes_of_Symmetry
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Illusionary_Ambush

I mean, yeah, the only good thing to come out of the elite spec are 2 abilities.

^^^^^ literally this

did this dude really just reply to me linking TWO abilities from the entire e-spec that will retarget ONLY 3 ILLUSIONS AT MAX?

trying to imply mesmer will be allowed to do different things with this?
implying, if they actually where useful, that it would fix literally everything else wrong with the spec and core mesmer?

i can’t tell, because he literally had nothing else to offer in his comment

honey, the amount of shattering you do, and the fact that it’s so pitifully worthless in pvp, means that it won’t matter that they exist if we have to be forced into taking a trash-tier weapon that has no invuln-frames, and literally useless condis for power-based builds, and absolutely no utility other than “hurr hurr here’s my clones and maybe my phantasms if they aren’t dead…. maybe”

sword literally has both cripple AND immob? with a blink? with i-frames? AND BOON STRIP????? even the Ambush ability now means sword has a floopin DAZE, you know, an interrupt? on a leap ability?

sword is too bloated for something as sad as axe to take over its spot as a primary weapon, and most likely even secondary to have access to another offhand in pve, and you’re going to want staff or greatsword for swap in pvp, period, both range, and burst or sustain depending on build
even scepter 3 has more burst damage than axe does…. at least i’m pretty sure, i know i’ve hit 10k+ on Confusing Images, not sure i ever saw those kinds of numbers testing out axe

the other option is just a utility that has a THIRTY SECOND COOLDOWN? just to switch, what, phantasms?

in PvE, you aren’t taking an axe, you’re still using sword, i’m mostly talking about pvp, but if you honestly think i meant pve, then, just, it’s still bad….. like….. no……..
30s cooldown to swap your phantasms to the new target that dies instantly anyway, and/or take the axe that offers you literally nothing else, just, no

if you mean condi builds…. you pump out clones so fast the re-target means absolutely nothing for clones, if you expected to, what, have out 3 Torch Phantasms? i mean, good luck with that in any format of this game ahahahahaha

Those aren’t any good either, because the only point of switching targets would be if your current target is dead, and guess what, your illusions still die on target death, so…

Five years of this. Five years, two elite specs, ZERO attention to the core contradictions of Mesmer design.

also this, exactly, yes
we need a mechanic to completely get rid of being tethered to clones, we need to do our own damage some how for formats of the game where they fail to be of any use
this is going to be horrifying having to wait for yet ANOTHER expansion for even the slightest glimpse of hope that we can finally get rid of this dreadful mechanic

everyone else gets to sit there looking through the “leaked” images that’ll probably arise, thinking “hurray i can’t wait to see what new toys i get to play with, whether or not i keep my old mechanic or get a new one, it’ll still be amazing i bet!”

and we sit here
flailing around
hoping just to be able to do something without having to rely on clones/phantasms that blow up if someone drops one small AoE field

you know, like how this expansion gave EVERY OTHER CLASS a new mechanic………………………………………………………………….
and Mirage gets MORE shatter builds……………….

i get what they were trying to do, it sounds beautiful, sure
but the original mesmer is already the “mirage”….

illusions should have been replaced, and the profession mechanic reworked, so we aren’t tethered to small scale fights or dead illusions, e-specs were SUPPOSED to add something new, mesmer being bound to a target is so obnoxious to deal with, they’re already the “duelist” class, why did we get more of a “duelist” e-spec

even the necromancer is getting rid of their class-defining mechanic for insane AoE
why can’t mesmer….
the elementalist already got like 50+ skills, what’s a bit more trait reworking for mesmer

how do alpha and pre-beta testers not report these as faulty designs to get them revisited?
even if this is beta, they’re still getting a lot of feedback on why this is so flawed with detailed information

Thief really early on in development went through an overhaul, because they received feedback early on

like, how did nobody “early on” testing the mirage ever take a look at those mirrors, realize how bad they are, and report it so they understand what’s wrong with them

these are mechanically terrible, there is no reason to have a reactionary mechanic such as i-frames to be based on having to walk over to an item on the ground, it turns it into an offense bonus from Ambush skills only, which will already lower the total time attacking because we have to run over to the mirror in the first place with the new melee weapon we got

it’s… just trash
mirrors are either a defense, or an offense, but it fails to be either

even if it takes them a while after release, it should definitely be addressed

developers ask for feedback, they get their feedback
the least they can do is attempt to listen

Alpha.1308

wellllllll
as i said, Overload was a DoT, as well as Wastrel’s Demise
BUT
i know what you mean

again, i’m still agreeing that the signet should change, stunning with a focus on confusion means we’re having downtime of confusion damage, and that sounds like a waste

and obviously we’re not running around with signet of domination just for the stun on a power build…
(-cough-, i did once to try out Confounding Suggestions/Sigil for 4s stun once, it was a waste of a slot as expected)

i still think that there should be some sort of effect that adds a unique mechanic on doing something, something suggested time and time again, Fragility, applying conditions deals direct damage, could have really poor scaling with power, but a number that more or less helps both condition and power builds, because even with power builds you can still apply conditions at an alarming rate, but not as much as condi, and condi builds will apply so many, the small amount would still add up

course… that sounds so good, you’d never want to activate it just for a stun… so the stun would have to change…

regardless, even if it gives you a power stat (power, precision, ferocity)
the stun still sounds awful as an active
this means you’re losing damage to stun, where…. you’d want to burst with your stuns???
still sounds counter-intuitive
the signet really does need a complete rework

"Napkins" vs REAL "Tomes"

in Guardian

Posted by: Alpha.1308

Alpha.1308

i don’t understand why people are saying they don’t “function like tomes”, in all threads, but, this one, especially, as this thread is about the poorly textured toilet paper graphics

they… do function like old tomes?
Tomes used to be an elite transformation pretty much
that’s what these tomes are
kits, or transformations
you press a button, and get access to a different bar of skills
cast times can be fixed when balance patches hit, but i don’t think we’ve even seen anything yet involving a REAL stat combo, or a real fight, where the Firebrand is able to actually shine
it seems like it’s a supporting offense, having big cast times (which they look on the wiki like nothing over a second…. except for one spell) as long as they have a variety of effects on enemies and allies is fine

the real problem is…

as above have been stating…

Rework Signet of Domination

in Mesmer

Posted by: Alpha.1308

Alpha.1308

i agree it’s backward
it’s like how they wanted to fix harmonious mantra/restorative mantras because “They felt counter-intuitive”
this one we’re focusing on confusion damage, but we… get access to a stun, fantastic…

although, i mean, GW1 wasn’t “about direct damage”
it still was all indirect
nothing was “deal x damage to target”
it was always
“do this to target, and this damage can take effect”

although this game hasn’t had hexes/unique effects like GW1 did, this game is mostly global boons/conditions able to be accessed by all classes, they’re slowly adding mechanics like they had before, so it’d be nice to see it change into something “different” rather than a static “here’s some more power”

whether that be condition or power focused, is up to them, because, again, Domination was never really “direct damage”
it was more “condition” like with its hexes that “could” do damage

Power Spike required an interruption to deal damage
Empathy/Backfire was when attacking/casting (confusion)
Wastrel’s skills exist
Overload was a DoT (condition) and then “if target is casting, deal damage”
even E-Surge wouldn’t do damage unless they had energy to drain
etc

Domination was punishment and manipulation
so, the stun aspect is fine, but the passive should be something to keep this aspect
“here’s more damage” sounds lazy imho for something that was so unique as a class

it’s fantastic to have brought back the Tomes like a dev (forgot which one) had stated that they wanted to do for a “future e-spec”
i’m amazed it happened so fast, only the second specialization, i honestly thought they’d either forget, not bother, or just take much longer

but… why “bring them back”…… only to butcher the already super amazing visuals that were already in the game?

the giant floating book was 100x better than the 2D sprites of napkins it looks like twirl around the “Firebrand” (which sounds like a pretty powerful name for such a laughable animation)

Ambush attacks

in Mesmer

Posted by: Alpha.1308

Alpha.1308

I’m a little worried about the power GS/Sword ambush attacks. The condi weapons look strong because they load up your target with a ton of condis but what about for a power build? I cant imagine Anet increasing the clones power, and gaining a boon or applying a condition like vulnerability would make it vastly inferior to its condi counterpart.

i wouldn’t worry about it too much
(besides the fact that anet can’t balance this game)

but, looking at previous mesmer skills, they typically have the same issue as this one:
you can smash a target with 20 clones, and it’ll ALWAYS be in favor of condition builds

Infinite Horizon just screams that it’s for condition builds, just like other traits that are for condition builds

the stunbreak/cleanse and maybe even the up front damage of sand shards are the go-to for power

you’re still getting your full use out of the power-based ambush on your own, you don’t NEED Infinite Horizon

i just hope sand shards gets damage buffed to be worth it (at least similar to power spike)

looks like we’ll be dropping a bunch of those mirrors, so, if it’s dealing around the same as power spike, it’s a trait that passively does more damage than a utility skill in the long run without having to channel it

just.. you know… let’s hope in pvp they don’t run from our mirrors….

and guess what?
it stops them
it’s a scouting/harassing build
just like any other build
they can also stop me, by trying to counter me, or ignore me entirely
just like ANY OTHER BUILD IN THE GAME

you know what else people whined about for ruining their “roaming experience”?
d/p thief
should thief just be banned from wvw period for having burst potential and escape mechanics?

the build is fine… you cleanse to stop it… if you don’t have cleanse, then it’s your own fault for being in wvw without cleanse…
it’s also super easily countered by stealth reveal or stealth traps
why is this even being discussed

it HAS COUNTERS
like any other build

calling it OP and crying for a nerf just because you need a counter to stop it (one of which simply being a cleanse that every class has) is pathetic

someone linked a video where some revenant stopped the thief by finally landing his reveal on them then tried to taunt the player
is that also necessary to run a counter to something, and then be a poor sport about it?
that person being a toxic player is worse than the thief playing the build who isn’t boasting for killing people

it’s a build that’s in the game
just like any other game has builds/classes/ways to play that are considered “cheesey”

just like 55 Monk was in Guild Wars where people would vamp their health down and still try to be a poor sport by taunting/boasting how much better they are than them

you can’t stop a warrior’s banner from giving buffs
should we nerf that? it has no counter
should we nerf everything that requires a counter to stop?

“should work with condition and boon duration period”
what?
it is both already?

i’m pretty sure it works
but i also do agree with the Lead Attacks similar tooltip thing
+1ing and commenting mostly for attention to that
or at least show it on our tooltip in hero panel
this has been asked for before plenty of times

Mantra of Concentration wants love!

Stand your Ground is 30s cooldown?

Concentration just needs the radius buff and it’d be great
cooldown is fine

as said, it’s a possible 3 stunbreaks and 3 separate, short cooldown pulses of 3 stacks of stability, it’s like a mini-stand your ground
which is really good, especially with boon duration
i run frontline boonshare, and while there could very well be “better options” than bringing a beefed up mesmer with no damage or blast finishers into a frontline, it’s still a lot of fun to play and still brings a “banner” (illusion of life is really good for simple slip-ups, if you run with good players), boon strip from sword autos or null field, and gravity well
your damage suffers, sure, it pales in comparison to a frontline guardian or something, but giving frontline reapers 20+ seconds of quickness every 30 seconds is absolutely terrifying

as for mantras in general, everyone (who were mesmers) absolutely LOVED the “bug” that made them begin their recharge after they were charged, but it proved to be too powerful, especially the healing one, making every mesmer almost god mode

the price is fine for what they do
the price is not fine for the amount we’re given
Anet has to make money somehow
of course, that’s fine
but it’s not like it costs them extra money to PUT MORE SLOTS IN FOR EACH
it would not only probably make more people buy it, but it’s also not like it’s difficult or going to cost them more, or make them lose out on anything, to just make it more space per purchase to actually make it worth it on our end

also, +10000ing making it movable/put at bottom of inventory

dodge animation for mesmer

in Mesmer

Posted by: Alpha.1308

Alpha.1308

i remember back in beta a lot of people where asking for dodge fluff on other classes since thief was the only one with it
nothing else got one
revenant comes out with a dev that actually read and cared and one person asked on the forums
and he does it in a day or two
or something like that
rest of us don’t have people that care
so
goodluck

it’s just a mentality of a lot of people to play the class that’s easiest to slip away with, nobody wants to get rolled over by a zerg while halfway across the map

and for the most part, the “roamers” don’t want their epeans hurt, they don’t want to lose, so they want escape options if things get rough and they aren’t fighting people not running some meta build that they can pick off

Alpha.1308

speaking of it being terrible, have you ever even actually watched this thing?
using it on the target golems that are in a line in the spvp lobby makes it miss the last hit
as if the bouncing slow projectile mechanic wasn’t bad enough already in a real environment, they can’t even hit stationary targets apparently
i still don’t understand how this stuff even gets passed “inspection day”
implying this game has those

EDIT:

uh… huh, actually, re-checking my rage to make sure, apparently it’s only if you cast it on the light golem…?
wat
it dissipates before hitting the heavy golem, but using it on heavy or medium and it hits all 3….

either way
whatever
skill needs to be changed, yes

legit, they need to go
it was a decent idea, but that’s all it was
on paper, possibly

how was something that costs a kittenton supposed to help smaller teams fend off larger ones?

the larger team will have an easier time obtaining them, thus can use them even more than the smaller team….

a gold sink into an object that anyone can obtain that helps a fight is obviously going to see way more abuse on the side that doesn’t need it because they have the numbers capable of spending the gold on it

i don’t even

how was this even fully developed and went through all the trouble to come up with ideas and still had absolutely no one tell them how much of a fail this was

we had an even fight of blob on blob and the other blob got so tired of losing they started using banners

worse than open field siege creepers, at least those can be destroyed

Tides of Time bugged reduction

anyone else notice in the presence of other chronomancers using it you don’t get the 10s recharge reduction?

i wanted to see if multiple chronomancers could reduce each others cooldowns with it (which, obviously i realized was a long shot, but hey, you know the bugs in this game)
but none of us are even getting our own reduction from our own Tides of Time

Illusion Summon Comletion w/o LoS

in Mesmer

Posted by: Alpha.1308

Alpha.1308

as a main mesmer, this gets frustrating, yes, i agree
mainly due to really random terrain issues

but as with any skill, you SHOULD need LoS for it to actually connect, and if you fail, it fails
phantasms are still weapon skills or “attacks” (sort of, including disenchanter and defender)

we just get the luxury of having our “attacks” keep attacking after we use the “attack”
like a mobile lava font

keep in mind we still can hit that person if they move behind a wall with the phantasm after it’s summoned, or then shatter it so it’ll run around the wall and still hit them, unlike someone launching a projectile that just gets obstructed and that’s the end of it
granted they don’t miss, which is another problem due to the unreliable projectiles/attacks/ai they have…. or that it doesn’t die, which is yet another problem with them being made of tissues

if you’re going to compare other classes, remember where ours stand
i’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s just pretty much general pros and cons to different classes as with any game

i’m also offended at how loud Chain Lightning is in comparison to Fireball
also Water Blast is louder than Fireball, so clearly Water Blast is too loud
i also think Stoning is like having the ceiling breaking, so i think that should also be quieter
it’s obstructing my vision in esports so i think my ideas are correct and should be addressed because i’m offended at how loud everything is

Rune of Thorns is pretty lame right now

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Alpha.1308

Alpha.1308

it stacks
it just needs to not lose stacks separately and it’d be fine
cap it at 5 or something to act as a second Corruption sigil and it’d be great
you’re not going to avoid hits in this game, period
unless you’re tryharding an old dungeon run stack meta, but why condition builds at that point
conditions already have a build up, this adds another build up

also, before the booty pains:
when i say “fine” i don’t mean “perfect” or “balanced” or “in competition with others”
i mean for what it’s designed for and the way they wanted it to be
obviously there’s much better options for any situation that you’d choose over this
but for the rune itself, it’d be fine if it just held its own stacks when you get hit
