I agree somewhat, considering thei disbanded on dungeons I feel like fractals are coming a bit too slow. Maybe theyre focussing too much on a big story in the fractals. Fractals should be tellings of little events. Theres still plenty of things I wanna see they can put into fractals. The plague of Fahranur, the rising of Palawa Joko, the fall of Abaddon (that vote was aeons ago, it no longer holds water), Gwen’s escape from Ascalon, Ventari and his friend finding the Pale Tree-seed,
be the commander that you need=)
Intried that, people run away as soon as you instigate combat, bunch of traitors, sink with your captain or drown,
Cant say Im not guilty of this, but I also want to shove some blame to the commanders.
You cant follow commanders if you want pips at all, since commanders wait hours and hours after taking an objective so your participation will always drop. And I hate followimg them because its so boring. Commanders ALWAYS avoid fights. Follow them and you’ll be sure to never get into a fight with other players. Every time a small enemy group appears when a com is taking a castle its complete evacuation.
I entered wvw under the premise there would be these big skirmishes and fights between enemy servers, but instead its three groups that avoid all interaction and play rock-paper-scissors in taking towers and keeps.
So unless wvw becomes a bit more exciting i dont see why it should be more than a reward dispenser
Interesting story, fleshed out.
But as said, not lore, it’s your creation
I’m mainly bringing this up because they current maps favour bunker builds. And I’m sometimes guilty of it myself, but its only in a “can’t beat em, join em” sense.
(Tough builds to cap a point and just stand on it surviving everything)
Since it’s the only real pvp map, and it’s been disabled for a long time, I’m honestly wondering when the Courtyard will finally come back. I miss pvp
As beautiful as the skybox can be, I’d really love to be able to play the game.
The reason I desperately need help is because I already tried all the common sense, it’s really a GW2-only problem and no amount of reinstalling and repairing can fix it.

Warrior works well in all those roles.
High CC bursts in pvp, CPS in most pve groups. WvW as well.
We still don’t have a title for 5 legendary weapons .. So wouldn’t count on it
You are late, the title already got added. Just the description is not accurate with pvp and wvw legendary armors.
And what is the title called?
Envoy’s Herald
But its only awarded for finishing all three weight classes, so you’re still gonna have to carry the armor on all your raiding characters to prove you have itI’m a returning player. I have 5 legendaries WEAPONS. No armor. That’s what I meant that there was no title for :P
There’s a title for having two the same legendaries ^^
I asked for it, too, already. No response yet.
But I think they’ll add it on release date..
..
i hope

I just saw there’s a title fir legendary armor Envoy’s Herald but it’s only rewarded for a full set of 18 pieces.
Now, most people will probably be satisfied with 1 set for now, considering subsequent sets cost 300 LI. And we wont get a title, or token of proof, for this acquisition.
Does that mean that whenever i play on a different class i have to unequip everything of my CPS and put it in the bank just so I can proof to others I’ve finished a leg.set? (Aka have 150+LI)
If they make melee combat any easier than is, we’ll end up with hot – knife – butterfights and i really don’t think they game should be getting any easier.
Melee is often combined with high levels of evasiveness due to dodges and being close to the target, so warriors are already pretty much immortal in pve.
And why is melee combat a problem in big fights?
Bosses are so weak do you rarely need to dodge and most people around you spam ambient healing.
If you die at a world boss like tequatl or svanir shaman that’s entirely on you. Got nothing to do with being melee

all these recent cosmic npcs like the harbringer, skorvald, viirastra use a norn model so i would say it’s not an accident. i speculate they are some sort of elite norn group who traveled the mists and possibly lost their minds. also note that skorvald uses bifrost which has some mythology background that kinda fits here.
Honestly i think that’s more of a technical than a design limitation. Remember when I Diablo 2 some bosses no matter how important were just recolored regular creatures
Oh yes, God forbid the necromancer will actually be competent for a change
Hmm.. but are you still on the same instance
Aka same people. I sometimes use commanders as a landmark
The problem is, people with zero, not a little, absolute zero experience with pvp are allowed to queue ranked and as a result, people who don’t even know the primal basics will influence your high ranks. Simultanously, you can extremely lucky, if you’re skill is silver to gold, but end up in a team with some plats, you can get carried in ways you’ve never imagined before
I’m one of those people with barely any understandment of what i should do half the time and way over my head in ranked. Started playing pvp on monday, did my placement matches on wednesday and ended up with 1442 rating in gold (with 60 games total played). During my last few placement matches and games after people were either flamming me or just telling me where to go cause i had no idea.
I kinda wanna say it’s your fault for entering ranked without knowledge, but it’s kinda more anets fault for opening ranked for people who don’t know the basics.
It’s a start that we have 10 opening matches to kitten the average skill, but there’s a system I see in many MOBA games that I would to see here:
1. Play a tutorial
2. Play 25+ unranked missions
3. Ranked opens up
I wholefully disagree with your first point, and as a main warrior, even.
You have 2 dodges, use them. Learn to use them, master them!
And if you’re short on dodges, carry a signet of the dolyak. And if the enemy doesn’t have a multipoint breakbar, use quick stuns like Wild Throw and Headbut to stun your enemyAnd I disagree with your disagreement. If you were correct, you wouldn’t see a huge number of players switching to ranged for big fights, which is exactly what you see anywhere you look in the game.
It’s especially a problem since there’s way more visual clutter in melee range which makes it difficult if not impossible to see when you’re getting hit and when you need to dodge. That’s probably the main reason players do it.
I can again disagree,
there are 2 types of fights:
Mass Malice and Organized.
MM are like world bosses, where everyone is a disco ball. Here it doesn’t matter if you range or melee, the boss is so week, ambient healing from players around you render you immortal.
Organized fights, like fractals and raids, as well as story bosses are not such disco balls, and you have plenty of time to study the animations of your enemy.
“If you were correct, you wouldn’t see a huge number of players switching to ranged for big fights, which is exactly what you see anywhere you look in the game.”
I think this is you being positively coerced. You believe something, and therefore see evidence for it. I for one cannot agree to this typical behavior, and still see plenty of people in melee combat. Also note that the further away from the boss you are, the less mobility you have relatively.

As for your 4; that won’t happen. The dungeon team has been disbanded, and anet have actively said they don’t want to contribute to it, anymore. So you’ll have to make do with raids and fractals.
I’m not sure what you mean by 5; there’s not really much to be shared between characters. It’s really just story instances. and masteries are acountbound already.
And by 6 you mean you can’t use an elite spekittenil you’ve unlocked it 100%? well, thats personal. When I played HoT, I immideately used my Berserker, unlocking things 1 by 1, never felt any trouble. But as I said, thats personal, you can choose not to use the elite spekittenil it’s fully unlocked. Alternatively, you can ge play wvw casually, every chest contains 6 heroic points, which can be traded for Hero Points 1 to 1. So 250 coins is 1 full HoT elite spec, (no guarantee PoF is also 250)

pvp at the moment is random at best, currently, silver, gold, platinum, says nothing about your skill, only your luck.
you can have a team of 5 invested players, or you can be the only invested player while all 4 others will run to the close capture point.

It’s what some players wanted who disliked the HoT meta map timers.
some players actually prefer waiting around for something to happen with no way of knowing how long???
in about half the matches I noticed that either Offense or Defense on the scoreboard doesn’t work. At the end of the match it displays a 0, and dashes at the percentages.
Example match:
I fought a lot on ‘home’ points, and half the kills were made on top of a claimed point. Yet, Defense is 0.
I noticed this in almost half my matches either one of them doesn’t work at all.

Why does every instance of the map have a 1 hour reset timer thats individually active?
Doesn’t make much sense to me, if you need something specific for collections or whatever, the game promotes “just hanging around until it starts”. Especially bad since you can’t see when the timers start and end.
So is it possible for anet to generalize the timers of the LS3 maps, so we don’t have to waste our lives waiting around for things to start?
Bitterfrost frontier hero collection specifies the need of 5 items, of which the first 2 does not specify it must come from a champion.
Hence, I spent quite some time killing griffons getting frustrated by the low drop rate, until someone else told me it had to be a champion.
So, I suggest, to save other’s the frustration, that anet adds the tag champion to the description, so people won’t farm regular griffons
That makes sense. But omission is not the same as inactivity.
We could’ve visited her at whatever equates an Asura hospital, and have a medic explain her situation. Or seeing her locked up in Snaff’s lab without communication
As someone who missed this chapter, yes, is love to see it back
Well, the issue was resolved by sitting through the whole ordeal again.
It’s not fun losing 5 matches to every win simply because people queue for ranked when they don’t even know the basics…
zojja came out of the pod fine. She had become blind but other than that seemed fine.
I think it’s more an issue of “no voice actor” so they have trouble pulling her back into the story.
That “scrambled and drooling” is probably just gossiping among other geniuses who are just glad the paragon of golemancy is taking a vacation
Being a very human-like demon like Razah is one possibility. Another is that she’s of the same beings as Harbinger of Woe is – as her challenge mode version (Artsariiv) seems to use the same texture as the Harbinger. This texture is definitely different from the Celestial Infusions, as Skorvald has such on him (which is rather interesting to me – has he been in the Fractals for so long he’s losing his humanity – er, nornity – or something?).
It should also be known that Yokko describes Viirastra and her clones as “creatures from the beyond”. This means that she is either a mist-born being or comes from another world entirely.
As know what Celestials are – souls ascended into the night sky to live as constellations – so Viirastra certainly isn’t such, as there is no “Celestial Norn” or any constellation called Viirastra. Their appearance is also vastly different from hers.
So I’d go with “same kind of being as the Harbinger of Woe, possibly same as Razah too.”
oh right, I forgot celestials were already a thing from Cantha, forgot about them.
I was talking about celestials in a more general sense.
Right now, Razah-ification seems to be the most plausible theory, albeit a theory at best
hm.. according to the world clock it’s 2pm pacific time now
you’re right
The protomatter that makes up the Mists strains toward creation, often spawning demonic creations in nightmarish forms. Not all creatures from the Mists are demonic, however. When the Mists come into contact with a suitable human template, for example, it can copy that form, creating a sentient entity with humanoid appearance and an almost human mind.
This is a very interesting line to this matter.
she’s obviously not from our world, so there’s no point in comparing her to a norn, or anything from our world, really.
I’m going out on a limb and call her a celestial.
But whatever she is, she’s unique in the sense that her kind has not yet been encountered before. The way she uses magic as a form of playing suggests that she’s not mortal in the same way as us, although it does look like they used a Norn skeleton to make her model.
If she’s a norn (which I simply can’t see happening) she must’ve been in the mists for so long her mind and body have been replaced with magic so if she’s norn in origin, there’s nothing left of that.
She also talks about Arrk as an entity that invaded her home, so I think that wherever the fractals of the mists are, it’s her realm
That sounds strange. If the daily reset is somewhere in the middle of the day the avhievement would be close to impossible for europeans to complete.
Server reset in Central Europe is at 2 a.m. local time.
yea, but given the previous person’s response I was starting to doubt maybe it resets with the wvw weekly.
but if it reset at 2am then my wins were defnitely within 1 session
It’s not a progress-type achievement so it’ll go straight to 100% once it’s completed.
As for why you still didn’t get it, the only thing I can think of is that you’ve won some of your matches in between midnight and the daily reset.
That sounds strange. If the daily reset is somewhere in the middle of the day the avhievement would be close to impossible for europeans to complete. I started early this afternoon, and got the 7th win around early evening.
Like.. 2pm to 9pm or something? Maybe it was 10pm. It did cross the 6pm which is my local common patch time, but the dailies and daily locks dont reset until 2am.
So it shouldve been the same timeframe.
Today I won 7 matches, alas, my “win 6 matches in 1 day” is still at 0%
It’s been quite arduous, so I hope it can be fixed, I’m not looking forward to sit through 20 matches in one day again.
I wonder, shouldnt it be possible for the system to see when a player spends more 20% of a match’s duration inside the spawn base
For sylvari there’s an alternative, tier 2 light racial armor is an ankleband of vines
https://qtfy.eu/guildwars/warrior/condi-ps/
Here you can find the details on the skills, traits, equipment and runes.
The idea of CPS is that you just inflict conditions, and spam yourself as much might as you can. PS-trait copies all those stacks of might to allies.
Secondarily, headbutt and wild throw will help deal some extra CC.
There’s an optimal rotation, but honestly, just spamming all your skills on cooldown seems just as effective.
Sword 3 and Longbow 4 are the only neglected skills, dont ever cast them.
The healing skill generates 5 might as well, just keep it on cooldown, the druid does the actual healing.
It seems that many people prefer the method that when the win isnt 100% guaranteed you just default so the enemy wins faster.
When i talked to a defaulter about it, he said he’s bern doing it for years, that people say they report him for idle and match-manipulation, but he’s yet to receive any corrective action, so he feels safe doing it.
How much do you people experience defaulters? Ive had 3 people just today.
And should anet act harsher on defaulting in matches? Sunce now it feels like there’s no repurcussion at all, considering defaulters say they feel safe
To summarize and put in scope: it would be the time, cost and effort making an expansion, whilst no new content could be made in the meantime.
In short: reviving ls1 would kill ls4 and slow down exp.3
this one is insane, not only because a precursor is more likely to drop,
but there’s no way to control when the event occurs, it just suddenly starts at random times and you have to be there, so you dedicate an entire day hanging around the maw waiting for the event to start.
The meta event appears every 60 minutes, but the timer appears to be instance-based rather than set on a global timer. The 60 minute countdown starts when the Unbound Guardian dies, after which the Jade Construct events will recommence.
1. The timer is not universal
2. There is no way to know if the unbound guardian was killed 1 minute or 59 minutes ago
here’s another picture I got, showing the severity of the problem.
Scoured all forums, can’t find anyone that can replicate the problem or has solutions I haven’t tried yet
My biggest fail was deleting my 3 day head start character. Now I have to wait till late November to get my birthday presents.
The biggest troll Anet has done to me was give me Spark as a precursor drop, on a beta character that I couldn’t keep. It dropped from a modrem grunt during HoT beta weekend 1. It was selling for 1000 gold at the time.
I think there was a whole forum topic on that problem and people got compensated at the time (after a while of fierce commenting)
The “one big city” is actually called Kaineng City, grown so large due to refugee influx after the Jade Wind. Bukdek Byway was just a street/walkway of sorts from Kaineng Center (a plaza and merchant square) towards other squares and docks (Vizunah Square and Kaineng Docks for example).
There were two or three other cities based on the world map, in Cantha.
But again – the naga were never pushed out to make Kaineng City (or any other city), nor were the tengu best we know. The tengu mostly lived on Shing Jea Island, though some did live on the mainland. Some of those did live in the city but they were not “forced out” of their lands.
Should also be noted that before the Jade Wind and the refugee influx that caused (something that humans should not be blamed for, since it was the deed of Shiro being manipulated by demons and fallen gods), most of northern Cantha was still proper landscapes. Take Zin Ku Corridor for example, described as a humble hill before the Jade Wind, but after became a “dark, humid, and smelly corridor”.
The same event that caused naga, warden, and dragon to go crazy in Cantha also forced the Empire to drastically expand their housing and capital city. Despite that, such events did not force out any cultured, civilized race. Any non-human race that might have lived there, joined the city to all our knowledge.
That last sentence seems strange to me, considering the whole xenophobic society was such a big thing in Cantha. It started with plagued humans, but after a while the ministry of purity started killing everyone and everything that wasn’t a registered human citizen (and even that wasn’t a guarantee of you lived in the slums)
- Do the daily fractals
- salvage EVERYTHING!
- do the PvP league, 20g in the last chest+5×1,50g and it’s repeatable
Believing for 5 years in a row that precursors can actually drop. I know now thats just a fallacy
@Konig, i wasnt entirely clear, apologies.
I didnt mean the naga were hostile prior to the jade wind.
But the name kaineng isnt quite accurate as I meant the entirety of the city-state. Its literally one big city thats covering the westcoast like a fungus. I know kaineng is the capital area in the north.
I think the southern region was called Bukdek?
The idea is.. in essence.. really simple.
The commanders of the many squads on a map can team up for better communication.
What I had in mind is, the commander is still leading a 50-squad like normal, but he can see the bars of allied commanders at the top of the list, along with a number of their members.
Retroactively, the commanders can choose to see all dots on the map, while individual players continue to see a squad as is, unless they toggle master squad on.
Maps that are designed like HoT’s maps are quite often a mess, people don’t distribute themselves well, and one of the causes which is most clearly shown in TD is the endless chat “how many people are at boss X” “how many people are at lane X”
This way, commanders have a better grip on organizing the bigger meta events. and there isn’t really a con to the system because it’s 100% optional. there’ll be 4 squads in TD and AB, 3 in DS, and several small ones in VB.
This system will benefit the core game as well, Tequatl, for example, always has 4 small squads. In this system anyone can quickly see where there’s a shortage of players in one group
