Hello, everyone, im having a problem thats becoming more common.
Loading screens can take up to 5-10 minutes, but all that loads is an empty skybox.
Sometimes its less bad, then floating buildings and some objects load, so I can look at the minimap and see where I’m going (since the camera tends to lock in place as well). Sometimes theres a long delay in rendering floors, stairs, etc, but sometimes nothing renders and I just end up rebooting.
processor: Intel® Core i5-2500k CPU @3.3GHz
RAM: 16.0gb
GPU: nVidia GTX 1060 GeForce
Drivers of windows and nVidia up to date
Repaired the client, did a complete reinstall, to no avail.
Its not an issue of loading pressure, because highest and lowest graphics dont affect the issue.
Im out of things to check……..
Edit: added some example pictures
first of low load, where stuff like water never renders
second two are originally in an empty skybox, after a while some things load, but nothing more than what you see now.

Do you remember how in HoT they said they wanted progress through the maps/story to have a “Metroidvania” type of feel? And you may have noticed that they kind of messed that up, with some of the masteries needed for movement, and others barely used.
By focusing on the mounts, they’re trying to keep the masteries more focused on that “Metroidvania” idea. They’re also trying to avoid any mastery that’s useful in just one area or just one map, a complaint that can be fired at the Exalted line, or half of the Ancient Magics line from LS3.
If we need to survive in a special area, I think they’ll take a cue from Bitterfrost (as well as other games such as Breath of the Wild), and let us get potions or something that will protect us. Heck, maybe there will be a special rune set where equipping all 6 gives you the protection you need, so everyone will start looking into getting a second set of cheap armor to survive in that area? (Personally, I’d prefer if both options were available.)
Anyway, I see the masteries being focused on only the mounts to be a good thing.
Well, there’s wisdom in that, I agree.
I really just hope we can’t just walk into the Desolation because that would be evidence they no longer care about lore and history, it should be impossible for mortals to walk around there without any means of protection. But be it a special mount like the Junundu wurms, a magical protection, or something else, there has to be something
Even though the mounts look very cool and the masteries are chosen well, I feel like there’s a bit of a slack when masteries are limited to the mounts in this expansion.
I agree that masteries to unlock merchants are no fun, but some HoT masteries were significant for exploration, like mushrooms (eating and jumping) and surviving in miasma.
Similarly, I believe the should have been 1 track of Desolation Masteries:
- Junundua Wurms, or other methods, because it’s established in lore we cannot survive in the Desolation, which is 1 of the big maps. We simply cannot survive there without a means of so.
- The blazing sun, we’re used to the summer’s winds living close to a big jungle, but some of us come from kryta or the shiverpeaks, they simply cannot survive in the elonian golden sun without some form of protection. A mastery to learn to how to cope in the desert seems almost necessary to me.
- as a fun mastery: understanding elonian culture. Vabbi, Istani, en Kourna, as well as the primeval era, each have a unique culture. Maybe we can learn to craft guild hall stuff, as well as interact with objects in the world based on how much we understand their histories
Give me a proper flying mount so I can finally do JP’s.
Seriously though, I personally think they’d kill the game making exploration pretty boring: “Hey, I wonder if or how I can get to that place up there?”; “Don’t sweat boss, just whip out your flying duck billed platypus snd fly up, man!”
exactly my worry, exploration feels rewarding because it’s the product of your efforts. If you can just fly up there, no effort is spend, and the reward is next is to nonexistent
I was looking forward to the Gryffin (Owl flying-looking mount) but they removed that one aswell…. along with the Spider…
How do we know theyre removed, though, what if they were never meant for the expansion, but for LS4?
As for mounts i’d like to see, as a skin for the raptor, there’s this dino that the Mordrem nightguards ride. *edit: Mordrem Guard Cavalier mount

My memories of the centaur in Nightfall is something that has disappointed me in GW2 (although I’ll admit I don’t remember the specifics very well, and I never knew the lore that well).
It’s always bugged me that the centaur in GW2 are just portrayed as beasts that may be able to talk, but only can say horrible things and no one is treated as bad for hating them all back. In Nightfall, I felt like it examined how completely unfair that idea was, but also how that would make the centaur understandably bitter.
I kinda held out hope that an Elona expansion would add playable centaur (they’d require some special stuff, but I really want a company to meet that challenge; centaur used to be a core fantasy race but it seems game design limitations have made them disappear outside of the occasional generic enemy), but I really hope we at least see them at all and get more characterization than “horrible people it’s okay to kill.”
But those are actually different tribes. We know for a fact that maguuman, shiverpeak/north-krytan, and elonian centaurs are different in both design and culture. The centaurs we meet in gw2 are Modniir, and distinct from the elonian centaurs. They are all primal in nature, but the maguuman and elonian seem to have developed a great culture, whilst the Modniir learned they could just take what they want with brute force
Fingers crossed for flying mounts. Arguments like “they make the world feel smaller” or “they invalidate open world traveling” are moot in GW2 since waypoints already exist and already do these things.
Not completely accurate though.
Lots of contested waypoints that would be simply negated by flying mounts. Entire mapdesigns would become tivial.
Maps designed for gliding have systems in them to steer use of gliding. You have to master it in more than one way. Adding flying to those maps would render them mere loot piñata’s stripped of their gaming value.
The design of this game might just allow for ground mounts but certainly not flying mounts.
It would be like adding a massive cheatcode. Way to sink your own game as a developer. The Blizzard Krew learned this lesson the hard way.
So, Fingers crossed for NO flying mounts EVER.
I disagree entirely. It’s a popular trope that flying led to the downfall of WoW, however if you look at the facts and the numbers (when Blizzard released them), it’s quite the opposite. WoW was booming when flight was part of the game. Only recently, when flight is disabled for a long time at the start of the xpac, only to be introduced via massive amounts of tedious effort, subs have plummeted. I believe it to be true that the vast majority of people wish to battle enemies more than terrain, and sub numbers show that, if not the sole reason for the decline, that at least there’s some correlation.
When they removed flying for most of the new XP’s, they started bleeding subs so fast that they stopped reporting subscription numbers.
Because people had become used to it. And unlike gw2, the vertical depth doesn’t make much of a difference in wow. That city up that hill, go ahead, fly to it.
In gw2 some areas are locked behind passages or events, there are paths the devs want you to take. They want you to know that a contested waypoint is a bother, flight would invalidate all that, effectively destroying the world.
That said, its not out of the question to design a ls4 map(s) which can accommodate flight. But then it’d have to be exclusive to those maps. After a while people will complain they want flight on more maps. It’s a slippery slope into a Venus flytrap
Pro tip: show up early
Thats all you gotta doIf you show up when the meta starts, all the maps will be full because of how popular the meta is (and for good reason honestly)
So yeah. Get there maybe 15 minutes early, and youll find a group
Doesnt work for DS, new maps spawn after the blast, wether youre an hour early or 1m, only until the blast can you start spamming to get on the meta map
Actually usually there’s a commander tagging up on the old map that’s about to die. I join the squad, wait until I do, waypoint to the beginning then join on the commander’s map. So far that process has never let me down.
yea, that gives you an edge for already being in the squad, but it’s still no 100% guarantee, sadly
This question has been asked and answered multiple times already. Anet has already directly stated that they will not be adding any more base classes. There are no “thoughts” to be had about it.
I was not aware, can you cite this statement?
I’ve also not seen something like this. although each elite spec truly and almost completely makes the classes play entirely differently, future expansions open tons of possibility to maybe tengu race, more classes, etc.
it’s been said in a variety of AMA’s as well as during the first livestream when they talked about elite specializations.
They added the the Revenant because it was already in the drawing board for a long time, and would fill the gap of the missing heavy class.
After that, any new “class” would come in the form of an elite specialization.
We are also unlikely to see a new race, unless it’s human in skeleton, like an elonian undead, maybe. Reason is, recently a dev freudiantly slipped that it was the charr thats putting the most strain on armor development. A new race thats not human in skeleton (even the Tengu) would increase the workload of the armor-making team by more than 20%

Flying mounts would completely destroy thenworld, break all bariers, and annihialate the design.
That said, there are some ways flying mounts can work, given they are locked to cetain areas or story instances designed to have flight
Fractal legendary armor (doesn’t need to be a fancy skin – can just be stat swapping like the PVP / WvW ones) for PVE players who don’t want to raid. It can be STUPID expensive, but at least give players a way of getting it that does not involve them playing content they are not interested in (again – as they have provided for WvW and PVP players).
The biggest concern with fractal legendary, even if it has no unique skin, is that raids is the source for PvE legendary armor, and we don’t want to diminish that.
Fractal Armor
Happened to find this one just now.
I personally don’t care if it’s legendary, but we need fractal armor
there are a few tonics out there that can be used in combat, and they seem loved by many, but scrutinized for a few shortcomings.
So I’m making this quick topic as a QOL section on tonics.
So, one issue is; tonics that can be used in combat are nice, but they usually last 15 minutes. So you end up constantly re-applying them, when you don’t want them.
Suggestion: extend timer to 60m, or permanent until disabled. Unlike special tonics, combat tonics can already be disabled normally by reapplying the same tonic, so there’s no need for it to have a timer at all, but I guess it’s easier from a coding point of view to just extend the timer to whatever, 60m+ (or something)
Collection. I’m probably one of the few in this matter, but I have a bank tab of various infinite tonics, as well as a few non-infinite such as hylek dyes/hues. Can we consider it a fair request to have a tab in the bank, below festive crafting materials, with tonic slots? preferably, since they’re infinite, maybe just unlock them acount-wide allowing us to withdraw an infinite number for all our alts?
some suggestions: a few tonics I would still love to have, similar to the Kodan, embiggening, etc. tonic, to be able to use in combat:
- Risen tonic (become undead, get the model that fits the race, sylvari just get the human model)
- Skin texture tonics: we have the Hylek hues to change our entire avatar, but wouldn’t be funny to have a tonic that makes the body transparent like a ghost, or pure red or blue (just the body, not the armors etc)
- Mordrem tonics (I mean the ones that are turnt sylvari)
Mordremoth, thats an epic mount
Apparently, with the expansion there will be 25 slot bags. I would like to see 25 slot bags being sold by BUY-4373 in the Mistlock Observatory. I would pay 1000 Relics for one.
‘Apparantly’?
First I heard of it, where did you get that?
No google sources on itThere were runes you could get in the beta indicating there will be bag with 25 slots.
I doubt that we will be able to get them for 1k relics because that would be too cheap according to the prizes we’ve seen in the beta. But there is hope that prices will be tuned down – the rune had a value of over 100g.Legendary backpack, a consumable that turns the first default 20 bag into a 26 bag; random idea
(I’d be annoyed with 25 because then you cant have even rows)You can have even rows with packs of any size if you “hide bags”.
Then everything becomes a big block where items haphazardly distribute themselves around
:pNot for me. You must not be making use of different types of bags.
because i’m using a variety of bags.
public bag starts as the start, then the blue/green weapons start somewhere, then the rares, then the junk, then the crafting mats, then the hidden bags, etc, if I make it all one big block items distribute all over the place….

All you people want the devs to spend effort on the launcher, a screen you see 0.82274 seconds on average before you hit the play button?

Well call me a quaggan, you’re right
It exists, but it seems to be an ultra rare drop.
I just hope we dont get a bag with and odd number of slots
Another non-issue, just press the play button and screen is gone

but.. its weird, in design, they’re perfect for the revenant, so I don’t understand why anet never returned on this subject..
did they think it was okay to stop at ‘we lost ’em somewhere’ ?Why do you think they are okay with it? It’s easy to say they shouldn’t have lost them or that if it’s previewable, there must be code somewhere.
It’s an entirely different matter to make the business decision to keep putting resources into nailing things down with these weapons, rather than working on all the other skins people want to see. Are you willing to give up other potential skins in exchange for this?
I get your point, but personally, I am
I have seen anet pump out skin sets this period that made me seriously scratch my head. You seen the keepsake weapons? Bunch of locks and keys, who takes that seriously? Might work for some magic trinkets like Focus, but a key-greatsword, this aint kingdom hearts
I have a lovehate relationship with S1,
I loved the fact that there was a constant stream, we were actually in a ‘living world’ which included politics influenced by players. But retroactively, it was during an internship period, I missed the entire session of Mai Trinn, and just came back in time to finish of Scarlet, with no chance to replay.
So its kind of like amnesia on a lore level
1. No, i already earned my tokens and i expect them to exchange for immediate reward
2. Why not? PvP and WvW and daily login rewards already give them. And it would be healthier for mystic coin market (less demand)
3. Nah in wvw and pvp leagues you already get tons of them
4. Pristine relics say hi
5. fractals are 5man raids only easier, so i dont see the issue
If they dont consume mystic couns theyre gonna cost as much time as a pvp reward track, you’re up for a lot of fractals, probably timegated behind pristine relics, to make up for the mystic coins and effort
but.. its weird, in design, they’re perfect for the revenant, so I don’t understand why anet never returned on this subject..
did they think it was okay to stop at ‘we lost ’em somewhere’ ?
1. Karma potions
2. Mystic Clovers
3. Transmutation Charges
4. Hero Challenge unlocks like in WvW
5. Acc Bound t6 food
6. New minis
7. Fun bundle items (like, recently we got some for cats in home instance, it would be cool to get more fun bundles like deployable jump pad etc)
8. new rewards such as gliders, mail carriers, outfits, armor, weapon skins, mount skinsTHIS
Nice ideas mate!!!
Fully agree, though anet might not.
There are some suggestions that make anet more agreeable.
1. Okay, but not as abliquid, you still have to earn the base karma, so you get a buff to karma gain instead.
2. Doubt they’ll accept that, but maybe they can sell an item that replaces something in the recipe, like the 6 philosophers stones, to increase, or guantee crafting rate.
3. Love it, but anet might hate it, gem store value.
4. Considerable, might get expensive, though.
5. I guess, nice for raids and fractals, but might push people who raid, but dont like fracts the wrong way (although i cant imagine raiders being short on money, ever)
6. Big plus (no, thats an actual mini idea)
7. A tonic, like the random transformations in the curent events
8. Nice, but very costextensive. I would love to ever see a blue and golden fractal armor
The fee is a constant, 10% of your total value, and another 5% once sold.
That means every time you undercut someone, you pay that value again.1 onion costs 1s50c
Fee is 15c
20 onions cost 30s0c
Fee is 3s
(That’s not the actual value of onions)The listing fee is 5%. If you remove the items from the TP, you pay that fee. When you actually sell your items, the 10% exchange fee comes on top of that.
If you see someone undercutting you with 2000 items while you only list 30, and your guess is that it takes 2 weeks before your offer is the one that gets the instant purchaser, it might be smarter to pay the 5% and relist (which costs another 5%), depends on how quickly you need the money.
Sorry, i flipped the 5-10% around.
My point was, though, that if you list more, you pay more, and you pay it again every relisting, so you have to consider when you stop cutting in the profits and start cutting in the base value
Because the six forbid anyone can wield more than one weapon? Be profiscient in multiple combat styles?
Warriors wield longbows, elementalists and mesmers get swords and claymores, you have yet to make a point why skalla cant wield a shortbow. If anything, her wearing heavy armor makes sense since revenants also wear heavy armor
Whatever happened to the weapons the Revenants got the use in the beta of HoT?
E.g.
Mistcleaver
Mistrender
Mistbreaker
I mean, we’re moving to the next expansion and some core stuff of HoT is still out there waiting for release. I got to use them in the beta, and in design, I honestly can’t believe the revs dont have them.
Maybe you can release them as collection rewards, increasing their number with the elite specs:
Shield Mistward
Shortbow Mistripper
The fee is a constant, 10% of your total value, and another 5% once sold.
That means every time you undercut someone, you pay that value again.
1 onion costs 1s50c
Fee is 15c
20 onions cost 30s0c
Fee is 3s
(That’s not the actual value of onions)
They are not junk, people expected a tier 2 power creep instead of any alternative play style.
Plus happy people play the game and sour people play the forum
Play more wvw, you can buy hero points for every heroic proof (1:1)
If you, like me, don’t use them for anything else you can get a complete elite spec for just two weeks for casual wvw, which is like.. 3-4hrs a week?
Dervish Revenant
Ritualist Engineer
Good luck
Originally, i think yes, the legendary weapons should have been relics of the past that are real and known to be legendary. But i think it’s too late for caladbolg to still work
I just want to stress that without a care for the achievement rewards you should still play gw1 because the anthalogy had an unrivalled story and experience
…so, unspent mastery points for HoT are a problem, but unspent mastery points for core and other expacs aren’t.
I see…My question is, what if they add new maps that use new masteries which in turn use HoT Mastery points? I dont see the point in this to begin with, but it just seems like a good idea to have spares laying around in case it happens.
Because if they make more masteries for the remaining points people will feel pushed to get them since masteries are inherently ‘necessary’. A scrap vendor is anything but necessary and will just clean up the excess mess without pushing players
Thats not what i was saying, if they introduce new maps that use a new mastery(like LW3) and a player has used all the masteries that they have at some vendor(if it was theoretically added) then how would they get the mastery. LW3 didnt add enough mastery points to get all of its mastery, so i see no reason why a new mastery tree that was added should it use the HoT mastery points would either.
Im not saying a merchant should be added, im against it, because i like the fact there is excess.
That’s the reason why only HoT points would be legitimate. Because HoT, and LS3 are finished. Once PoF and LS4 are also finished they can be added to the vendor
For the glider the backpack is inconsequential.
For the backpack, you get a pair of straps so that, no matter your level, you can use backpack skin
In short, your glider and backpack are separate entities, but the backpack requires an item for the skin to work upon

The problem i have with this skill is…
If your enemy is weak, you kill it before the cooldown, but if your enemy is strong, you die before the cooldown. There’s no middle ground, since in most cases either party dies before the cooldown procs.
Worse yet is in pvp, you down, you wait the longest to usr the #2 knockdown skill, as your opponent channels execution. Then they get back up, channel again, and usually their channelling is done right in time with your cooldown, so you never get to use it in pvp unless your enemy forgets to finish you.
On a side note, skill 2 is also a weak version of the guardians’. The guardian can knock back multiple enemies, including stealthed flagplanters, but warriors cam only knock down 1 enemy and only if they’re not stealthed.

Guild wars 1 is a game that ages like a fine wine.
Even now its a most delicate drink you will enjoy
Notice also, that it would still prevent Anet from ever adding any new mastery to core/past expacs.
Core is no issue.
Why not?
HoT is 100% if not more, finished now. All future masteries will cost CD-mastery-points
Sure. HoT is most likely finished now. What about PoF? Should this subsystem wait till the next expac is out before you will be able to spend PoF mastery points?
Also, again, it means they wouldn’t ever be able to introduce any new core mechanic masteries – ones that wouldn’t be expac-specific. Even if they at some point decided that some might be useful.
That’s extremely limiting design.
Because the vendor will be just for HoT points, and not the Core or PoF points
Notice also, that it would still prevent Anet from ever adding any new mastery to core/past expacs.
Core is no issue.
HoT is 100% if not more, finished now. All future masteries will cost CD-mastery-points
As you said, weekends are to chill from work.
Gaming is a form relaxation.
You want people to call in sick to work just so they can play betas?
Lose value? I get UM everywhere I go now without even setting foot in one of the LS3 maps. I think they provide great value, freeing me to go where I want to do what I want, yet still earn currency towards what I want. Right now that is Obsidian for a legendary, and every bit of UM helps reach that goal.
As i said between brackets
What if after receiving 144 points the others are automatically converted in to spirit shards?
To me that would be fine as a vendor option,
Too people like inconceived-was-na it would still mean that the mastery points have a second usr
Come to think of it, I bought them without a second thought due to the currency value,
But now, according to wooden potatoes, there’s no unbound magic currency in use in the crystal desert (for as far as he’d seen), so maybe the tools lose all value with the passing of PoF, unless you still return to play in LS3 (Or work on Aurora)
(I said lose all value, not entirely right, since you can still always return and buy quaggan stuff with them)
I mean, if Palawa Joko returns, these guys oughta return as well, right?
IIRC, Palawa Joko actually found the centaurs very good workers and resilient fighters, bit more like kenghis khan, why kill a tough enemy when you can enslave them?
I mean, true, we didn’t start on the best of terms in nightfall, but then again, they were a race trying to break out of slavery, there wasn’t really a ‘nice alternative’
Funny thing with this map is, even if you show up ahead of time, it’s no guarantee.
one of the many maps becomes the main map, and everyone tries to get to it.
So you go there, wait out the blast, and then it’s anarchy.
don’t worry, if the last beta is anything representable to the real game, the enemies in PoF won’t be a threat, at all.
you can kill the warforged with a single auto-attack, and they barely do damage, you can literally stand still between them.
PoF is like the linear opposite of HoT, where HoT was somewhat a challenge at first, until they nerfed most of the mobs into the dirt, the warforged are made of butter, trying to survive in the burning sun of Elona, they die on their own, no need to attack them at all
