Can anyone guess my favorite color yet?
Just spent a ridiculous amount of money on style kit/clothing/transmutation stones/dyes/weapons/sigils/runes/etc for my thief.
very angry costumer
I wasn’t aware Anet gave a kitten about the opinions of “costumers.” Customers on the other hand, well….. nvr mind, they don’t care about us either.
Ah you beat me to it!
Well, there was a vital something I missed. And it looks like you missed it too. But ah, now I’ve caught my omission before you realized it!
Muhaha!
Last night I trialed an Ele with 900 AP for the guild. I was skeptical due to her incredibly low AP, but she was in meta and had TeamSpeak, so I gave it a go. For her trial, we did a full dungeon tour of 16 paths with optimal roles for each dungeon path (everyone except the trial relogged another class at least once). We finished the tour in under 4 hours. She did very well.
At one point I asked her “You’ve only got 900 AP, but you play better than most 6k+ AP players I trial. Why’s that?” Turns out she read multiple meta guides and watched multiple speed-run vids before even entering a dungeon. That there is why AP doesn’t mean a kitten thing; it’s intelligence and preparation that matter.

There have already been multiple threads in the last month where we all got to say “necros are useless in dungeons, reroll another class.” I wish people would just look up those threads instead of starting new ones.
Let’s see if I can get this thread thrown into the necro forum
There is no correct way to read Guang.
Exactly. Case in point: Guang goes 30/10/10/10/10. Which is wrong. 30/20/10/10/0 is higher DPS in almost all sections of every dungeon. Not just with staff, but also with conjures.
does no one else see this? lol. maybe cranked did, but imo he’s not making a big enough deal of it.
in your first post, a clerics warrior. now, you tell us that you run the condi signet and prayer to kormir on your ranger, and soldier runes and shout heals on your clerics warrior. honestly, I hope this is a troll post, because if it isnt, you need to stop whining on the forum about the same thing a million other people whine about daily, and instead learn to properly play this game.
Don’t think I’m not being sympathetic, because I am. To have all that time wasted is terrible. But I see one of these posts popping up every day, so I would have thought people would have learned never to pug fractals. In fact, don’t pug anything – fractals or dungeons. Join a guild which speed-runs dungeons and/or fractals and just forget about pug’ing altogether. It’s really that easy. If you’re pug’ing and something bad happens, imo, it’s your own fault for pug’ing in the first place.
No, Clumsy, no! Don’t give in to temptation! Keep that evil logic out of these threads! Let the man troll in peace!
Randomization would be terrible. Do you have any idea how long it would take to get a proper zerk player? I’d end up kicking hundreds of people (not just the 10+ ppl who don’t read that I currently kick each time I put up an LFG).
I didn’t look at this thread until now. I’m glad I did; Dolan’s short story was superb. +1
I bet the Mod who deleted your post was offended because he mained a “healer” guard. With devs playing things like p/p thief, anything’s possible. lol

ja ja, dat build good! Alex iz OP heeler wit guard!!!1

Edit: Where’d it go? Now my response doesn’t make any sense
…. I’m still putting “Meta Terrorist” in my sig though. lol

PUG = not a member of my guild, or some other guild which requires proper gear and builds and tests for skill. PUGs usually run terrible builds (eg. a Wave of Wrath-spamming guard who came straight from LA without retraiting or changing gear).
Jerem already linked that vid to me in another thread, which is why I added it to our daily dungeon schedule. Our CM p1’s usually take 2-4 mins longer, mostly because the thief solo’s the first part. If you had the thief solo it in your vid, CoF 1 would be faster.
EDIT: maybe the thief did solo it in the vid, I dunno. I can’t really tell from Jerem’s point of view. When I or someone else solo’s it, the rest of the party just waits outside the instance for 2 mins. So since the other 3 players went with the thief, I assume they helped speed up the first part.

+1. lololololol
All this hate for Ele’s. it’s totally unjustified (hides FGS).
Go pick on Mesmers and their mesploits instead.
because otherwise, cm 1 would be faster than cof. and we cant have that, can we?
Edit: 300 sec flood control, wut?
Answer: there is no dungeon team. It will not get changed until/unless it effects the living story.

That’s where you’re wrong. Elitism DOES spawn from being good at what you do. The reason your average player is NOT “elite” is because he is NOT good at this game. Your average player is a bad pug who “plays how he wants” for his own enjoyment, and doesn’t give a kitten about the enjoyment of others. If he did care, then he’d play a meta build to help to group. If he did care, he’d pro-actively attempt to improve himself by watching speedrun videos to learn dungeon tactics before joining an “EXP ONLY” group. If he did care, he’d take a look at all the research behind our meta builds. He’d draw on our collective knowledge. But no, doing any of that is “too much work”; that “average player” would rather join a speedrun LFG and get carried by others who DO play meta builds.
I need to confess. I have strayed from the way of dungeons, and embraced WvW lovingly at 4 AM. It was fun. I may become addicted.
No, Iris, don’t get pulled in by the Satanic allure of WvW! Walk the virtuous path of dungeon farming with us! We miss you
You may not have noticed, Dramen, but there is a “Stacking exploit! Skipping exploit! Zerker gear exploit! Dodging exploit! Soloing dungeon exploit! Being better than me exploit!” thread appearing daily, and not just in the dungeon forum. And the vast majority of the time, the players making these threads: 1) use terrible English; and 2) demonstrate in their complaints an alarming ignorance of game mechanics. Us “elitists” need to actively promote meta builds to combat the aforementioned tide of stupidity that all those “_ is exploit!” people are polluting these forums with.
You know why this has given the dungeon sub-forum “a reputation among the overall game community as a toxic place?” Because the average member of the “overall game community” does not have enough brain-power to realize that us “elitists” are right. The average player is too stupid to understand the extensive theorycrafting that we do, and the enormous amount of time and effort that we put into that theorycrafting. And even if that average player could understand why our meta builds are superior, he wouldn’t care. He’d rather kitten his group by running a rubbish build to maximize his own “fun” at the expense of everyone else. And his excuse for being so selfish? “I play how I want.”
“10% effective” is very different from “10% less effective.”
lol. The word “Condi” should never be in the same sentence as “Dungeon.” Nor should the word “Necro.” When you start saying things like “Condi Necro in Dungeons,” that’s when people look at you like “Why isn’t this guy in an insane asylum?”

- Warrior has crap survivability. You’re going to be dropping super fast since pugs don’t have the DPS to enable you to stay up 100% without any defensive skills.
I don’t even know what to say. “Warrior has crap survivability,” WHAT? …. Warrior is ridiculously easy to survive on. I don’t know what game you’re playing, but in GW2, Warrior is easy mode.
Operation Move Bad Guardian Build Out of Dungeon Forum: SUCCESS
I thought we’d contained this sort of BS in the Guardian sub-forum. We’ve got to keep our Dungeon forum clear of this sort of thing.
I can’t wait until they add a second sigil slot to 2handed weapons so I can have two sigil of speeds.
2 sigils of speed on a single wep? That much swiftness would clearly be game-breaking. It could allow a player to maintain perma swiftness, which is just blatantly a bug. That amount of swiftness might even allow players to exploit dungeons by skipping the adds!
But I digress, and for fear of being infracted, I must stay on topic.
Sigil. Speed. Pros. Swiftness. Cons. Speed.
There is obviously a disconnect between how long Anet expects dungeons to take and how long they actually take. As others have already said, the 1-time reward of gold at the end of the path, in addition to the DR effecting the 26 silver at the end, discourages doing the same path more than once per day. However, that does not prevent us farmers from making terrific cash.
Let’s look at the following dungeons I do every night, and their daily gold chests:
AC 1: 1.5g – AC 2: 1.5g – AC 3: 1.5g – CoF 1: 1g – CoF 2: 1g – CM 1: 1g – CM 3: 1g – TA up: 1g – TA fwd: 1g – SE 1: 1g – SE 3: 1g – HotW 1: 1g – CoE 1: 1g – CoE 2: 1g – CoE 3: 1g – Arah 2: 3g – Arah 3: 1.5g
That’s 17 paths, and a total of 21g from chests. Then your additional 26s * 17 = 4.42g. So you’re making 25.42g just from end-dungeon rewards. But that’s not all! I seem to be making 30-35g in cash each night, so where’s that coming from? Oh, right, there are those blue satchels that give you money bags, plus additional silver/copper from bosses/mobs.
Then you’re also getting a bunch of materials and blue/green/rare/exotic armor/weapons. I salvage the blues and greens with the infinite Copper Salvage-o-Matic, and the rares with a Mystic Salvage Kit. The exotics I either sell or salvage with a Black Lion kit, depending on the current broker price for them. My net cost of salvage kits is very close to zero, since it only costs 3c per blue/green, and because I get Mystic Forge Stones/BL kits from dailies/AP reward chests faster than I use them. Selling all the mats I get each day from drops/salvages is another 15-20g.
Then on top of all that, I happen to have half a dozen dungeon recipes. So that’s another 8g per day, just from making exotic jewelry from my daily tokens, minus 3g for the Orichalcum and listing fees, netting 5g.
In total, how much money is all this? 50-60g per daily dungeon tour.
Doing those 17 paths I listed takes about 4 hours with the guild each night, starting at reset. So I’m making 12.5 – 15g per hour, without path-selling or exploiting (unless you’re one of those “FGS is exploit!” morons), just by speedrunning. Did Anet intend this? I have no idea. All I know is that, if I were to pug these same dungeons, it would take me 8-10 hours instead, meaning I’d only be making 5 – 7.5g per hour.
Now I’ll compare this to various types of legit Arah path-selling.
You can speedrun Arah p4 is 30 mins, and sell 4 slots for 15g each, plus the 3.26g the opener gets (63.26g total). You then split that 5 ways, so 12.6g per person. However, it usually takes 15-30 mins to get 4x buyers in the party, so you’re still only making 12.6 – 16.8g per hour, only slightly higher than I make doing my nightly dungeon tour. And you can only do this once per day (maybe DnT or rT have enough buyers to do it twice or 3 times per day, but I don’t).
You used to be able to solo Arah p2 in 50 mins, but since the update, I’ve always had to call for backup at Alphard (I’m probably just a noob for not being able to solo him). Let’s assume that A) you can still solo in 50 mins, or B) whoever you call in to help at Alphard (and sometimes Lupi) doesn’t charge you. You can sell 4x slots for 6g each at the end, plus your own 3.26g (27.26g total). p2 fills faster than p4, so it’s usually full within 10-20 mins. That means 23.3 – 27.26g per hour. You can usually do this 2-3 times per day (once again, DnT or rT can probably do it a lot more each day, since they have more buyers). This is where the real money is. Did Anet intend this? Once again, I have no idea. I’d guess not. All I know is that I’d be very, very angry if they somehow prevented solo’ing by introducing something akin to the gate in CoF p1.

There’s already one on NA. Might as well be one on EU too.
Beware, though, quality control is a lot of work The way I do it, I interview applicants about their gear/trait/stacking weps/consumables/etc to ensure they’re in meta before sending an invite, and they start out as an Initiate. They’re only upgraded to full member after I’ve done a complete dungeon tour with them, and sometimes they haven’t got the skills/experience, so it takes multiple tours before they’re upgraded to full member. It’s a lot of work. Just keep that in mind before starting the guild.
EDIT: Oh, and if you want to upgrade the guild fast, it will cost well over 500 gold for tiers 1, 2, and 3, so make sure you’ve got that on hand.

shh, Eph. Lawnmowing is an exploit
The Pure DPS Build in that guildwars2guru link (the 30/30/0/0/10) is the way to go. Sundering Strikes + Improvisation + FGS + multiple teleports = Win.
As Ayril has said repeatedly, he needs no evidence proving Dolan’s guilt. YOU need evidence proving his innocence. That is how this particular system of justice works in GW2. Even if Dolan is entirely innocent (which I believe he is), his lack of precautions (eg. turning on fraps) before interacting with an employee of a company known to hand out frivolous bans is his own fault.
Lindbur, I happen to like Dolan, so I do take his word for it. However, that has nothing to do with what Ayrilana is talking about. Ayril is quite right when he says the burden of proof is on the defendant. This is not an American court of law where someone is innocent until proven guilty via evidence being presented to a jury. This system of “justice” is run by Anet, which acts as judge, jury, executioner, and court of appeals. Personally, I do not approve of this system; however, I did agree to it when I signed the EULA, and as did every other GW2 player, including Dolan. Because of this, I always record everything ingame before talking to anyone with an Anet logo. Knowing Anet’s previous shenanigans as Dolan did, he ought to have been similary careful. Maybe then he’d have some real evidence to base an appeal on.
Good attempt. I like it. Not quite on par with mighty meek, but impressive nonetheless.
Yesterday, I saved my entire team by reflecting lupi’s aoe in phase 2.
People don’t actually interrupt that AoE, do they? What an unforgivable loss of reflect dmg
Has anyone else noticed that the majority of the “anti-skipping, anti-stacking, anti-selling” crowd uses very bad spelling and grammar?
Of course, there are exceptions. In general though, I’ve found that the opponents of everything we “elitists” do write like 10-year-olds. mPascoal in this thread, the YouTuber Who Shall Not Be Named, a s c i, and the OP of that Hippocrates thread last night, to name a few. Might there be a correlation between education and GW2 “elitism?”
And of course, please do read the LFG description.
Silly Iris, people don’t read in 2014. Anet nerfed reading back in 2013. Didn’t you see the patch notes?
Kitten, Eph! You beat me by 2 secs!
You just made it too easy, joey! The idea was to throw him little bits of info (such as my use of the word “minion” in my prior post) to make the moron think for once, maybe even look up previous threads on this same topic before wasting everyone’s time with more QQ.
He’s a sneaky one, that YouTuber Who Shall Not Be Named. His minions don’t even recognize they’re being manipulated….
“Helpful Lilith off, sarcastic Lilith on!”
…. wtf? The remote’s not working. She’s still being helpful rather than funny.
Don’t even refer to him, noob. He has ears everywhere….
Indeed, your thread is completely different. You seem to be unable to spell “you’re,” “I’d,”
or “I’m” properly, as well as showing gross ineptitude with capitalization.
