Except GW1 was hated by a large majority of the pvp and mmorpg community as an overcomplicated mess of a game. I can point to a larger portion of people who genuinely though that GW1’s overpowered specs, hilarious monk builds, ridiculously complicated fighting style, and time consuming fights was a main reason for it’s inability to attract the casual fan.
…
Unfortunately your perception is stuck on this perception that everyone agrees with you. Hopefully we can convince you shortly that you are misguided in your hatred.
Overcomplicated? Mess? ‘Hilarious’ monk builds? ‘Ridiculously complicated fighting style’?
It seems to me like you said very little of substance here. I could go through and address each and every point but it would be a waste of time.
I’m kind of disappointed to be honest. It would be nice for the very few people who actually interact directly with the developers to have a little more class than that.
#politics, I am not going to lie. It’s hard to keep a level-head when you do a lot for the community and people just easily log in-write one post, and think they can change the world. Give Bas some slack on this bout.
Then zzz away, I’m sorry you can’t make friends to play with. Have fun with your super awesome real life, when I’m pretty sure I’m younger and making more cash than you. Thankfully you aren’t known in real life because you seem like kitten that no one would like : )
I remember when I was 14. I made posts like you do.
Just make sure you behave, I’d hate for mommy and daddy to stop giving you an allowance and take all that “cash” away from you.
I hit several nerves with you. It is nice to know you can’t have a solid conversation without having to throw in insults and jabs
– I guess that is a good representation of the “top” competitive teams left in this game.
Try to not make it so easy to pick you apart next time
I remember when I could tell a baddie from a few posts. Oh that was today, thanks for the lesson learned. Haha, what a joke, this isn’t a solid conversation. You aren’t even on topic. I can’t have any conversation with someone who is ADD enough to keep on straying to infinitie amounts of woes. And to correct you, I am not in any way part of the top competitive team level. I am a casual tpvper. Yeah, you hit a nerve, but it’s always good to know that I’m in all ways better than you in the end. Welp. Have a good rest of the day. I need to make some more $$$ instead of having fun with you.
I never said anything about hidden potential—I am talking about depth. The level pro teams play at is much higher than people who just start out. If you were to measure that gap and called it depth, you have great depth. I mean, to each his own opinion. I just don’t appreciate you nor anyone else trying to call people out for trying to make this game into something better in their own threads. I am not going to all the threads you post in to just to say “NO, THIS GAME IS FINE THE WAY IT IS”. You can say whatever you want in your own thread and I won’t mind. So please, I don’t want to argue with you now. If you have nothing to say about caster improvement, carry on.
Pro teams all left this game, so its not really possible to measure.
You can make life a lil more comfortable for the fraction of the population that enjoys GW2 at the moment, but THAT IS IN NO WAY in GW2’s best interests… only yours.
I don’t think you’ve ever defended your point about depth in the game.
So not saying ‘I don’t want to waste my time again and again’ is a lie?
You posted once in my thread, I typed out tons of politely toned stuff for you, you never responded. So its tough to take you seriously :’(
Ah, I do apologize garethh, so much negativity does make me jumpy (only me though! a lot of the other supporters are keeping quite the level-dead). I will not deny that the game has a lot to recover from, however I think every little bit counts. And it’s hard to say whether I’m self-fish or not. If I want new players to like spvp, am I being caring to help them? Or self-fish? Either way, I try, and it does make me happy to find people enjoying good games with each other, loss or win. I am not sure what GW2’s best interest is, I just know what we can do now with what we’ve got. It’s really hard to force Anet to pull a 180 and change a lot of things overnight. I’d rather just enjoy that game as it is. In terms of depth, I think it’s good for an action game—coming from fighting games, it’s all about knowing what combos exist, and different matchups. In this game, you have builds/team comps/counters/utilities/crowd control/small scale tactics, etc. It really depends on what you compare depth too. Compared to most fighters, it has a lot of depth (I compare to fighting games because that’s what I think of for action). If you compare it to LoL or DotA, it probably won’t be nearly as equal.
Pretty sure the GW2Esports Guild outnumbers all the frequent posters who roam gw2 forums for whatever reasons to post very general information that does nothing for the pvp community. Alright, I get it, you guys hate GW2 PvP. Alright, you guys have bunches of friends who quit. Alright, you guys don’t want anyone who plays to have hope. Alright, you want Anet to magically change over night. Alright, you may want us to all quit and just say everything sucks. Alright, you want us to join the bandwagon of you nah-sayers. Alright, you know everything. All hail Motoko for granting us with his superb prescence because he’s bored at work.
I do what I can.
What is your purpose? I have no idea what in kitten’s name anyone’s goal is to shut people down for trying. Just because we make an effort to make something, doesn’t mean Anet is going to be like “Hey, we don’t need to spend time on PvP anymore”. How about you stop being a nobody posting on forums and actually write a good post about changing something? How about you go get a real life and make friends to be happy with than be really sour on forums that you don’t really care too much about.
A nobody? Haha. I have no intention being anything like you bud. The only thing “zzz” means to me is it is the only thing I type on this game before logging off. God forbid someone such as myself can excel at a video game hobby AND have a successful real life.
Hard to fathom right? And guess what? Real life has more than 10 teams to compete against. :O :O :O :O :O :O :O :O :O
Let’s just make you the ArenaNet President because obviously you know how the STOG is. Kitten that, if you could even score 100 points against any of the top teams, I’ll give you a pat on the back. Trash like you should just get your internet freedom removed because you abuse your anonymity to say spiteful things just because they don’t go your way.
Really. You are asking me to score 100 points against a top team? Do you even understand the game you play? Where in any part of GW2 PvP does that request make sense? Who are my other 4 teammates? How are the 100 points I score calculated? Can you ensure that I will actually enjoy this god awful game while I play? And please invent an incentive for me to even learn this game to beat… what… 10 teams? I feel so sad for you if that is your motivation. I really wish my life was as boring and lackluster as yours that beating 10 teams in a dead PvP portion of a game gave me excitement.
Thankfully you aren’t in charge. You’d just silence anyone who disagreed with your clueless input.
Then zzz away, I’m sorry you can’t make friends to play with. Have fun with your super awesome real life, when I’m pretty sure I’m younger and making more cash than you. Thankfully you aren’t known in real life because you seem like kitten that no one would like : )
The depth of this game is as much as you want it to be. You can take it at face value like most people do and just play the numbers game. Or you can go further and send the right class to a position. Or you can go even further to push a position in order to open up a later more important push somewhere else.
Its like the nba. You could say there is no depth, your just aiming for the basket. But then at each progressively higher level you will see more things to it then that. Matchups, plays, rotations, etc.
i wouldnt compare a 9 month old computer game with about 10 competitive teams to a professional sport. Maybe you could compare it to tic tac toe or connect 4.
http://howmanyarethere.net/how-many-nba-teams-are-there/ Fact. Only 20 teams away from being equal to the NBA.
1/10 for troll
I think you are the troll, seriously just going to every thread you can think of to post your broken heart feelings. Can you just find a new game to terrorize? Or maybe go become a developer and show Anet up since you think you can do much better.
Anet already did better, it’s called GW1, but they decided to cater too much to PvE with this game and continue to push esports while leaving one of the worst pvp experiences in an mmo to date for causals.
And I don’t think I need to be a developer to explain how solo queue was more important than custom servers and observer mode especially when 90% of the people who were asking for those features have long since quit and aren’t coming back.
But hey lets cater to the 10 teams who actually think gw2 will succeed as an esport and ignore the casuals. And lets host tournaments where we only invite the teams that will get viewers and then sprinkle in a few crap teams to make sure the top teams make the semis and finals.
solo queue sucks? match making admittedly broken? 5v4 still happens? 4 K VIEWS ON TWITCH GAIZ! oooh and a patch full of observer mode tweaks! and lets not forget the guy who is 13-0 and ranked #8 after beating 1 top 50 team, 7 top 500 teams and 5 pugs.
Sounds like you don’t know how to walk in someone else’s shoes. Yeah, just keep your narrow lenses on, you entitled forum goer who knows nothing about what it takes to run a company. Has Anet even said ‘Solo-Q is for noobs, we aren’t going to give you it’—It takes time, and they have priorities. Some people want to take the future of the game in their own hands while we wait for improvements. But yeah, sit on your computer, eat some twinkies and kitten on. I can afford it because I’m pretty sure I’m more productive than you.
1. You have no depth! Jk, but seriously, it has more depth than you realize, you just haven’t found it yet.
2. I think his Folly’s notion of high level is pretty accurate. It doesn’t matter how big or small, the gap between great players and beginner players is huge and that says something.
3. You must be joking right? When did team zZz recruit you?
4. We aren’t squirming, we just don’t appreciate unconstructive feedback. I am impressed at your tenacity to come and post something pointless just for the sake of posting. Hope you find a new hobby.1. Can not find something that does not exist. If it does exist, it is too boring to care to learn about its existence.
3. LOL. zZz is considered high level PvP? High level PvP/Competition does not exist in this game. Get that out of your head. Anyone truly competitive and aware of eSports ditched this game a long time ago.
4. It isn’t unconstructive – It disagrees with your opinion – And that is what makes you squirm and post your little responses. It has been less than a year and GW2 PvP is already on life support. Hope you find a new pretend eSport.3. Comments like this remind me of high schoolers who claim to be involved or tested every woman on the market. Great players and guys with a wealth of high level pvp rarely come on the forums to complain at the level you do. Most are too busy doing things.
I’m bored at work. So no, not really busy.
4. I am glad you represent the majority because it’s amazing the sheer volume of people who agree with you. Oh wait, it’s the 3 guys who continuously post because the game isn’t the way you like it. Look go back to whatever game you came from since you hate GW2 so much, and leave the game to those who do enjoy it.
Conquest is just as enjoyable to watch and is more related to MMO’s than the standard Moba format, and infinitely more enjoyable to watch than anything Halo or COD puts out.
Being the loudest guys who posts the most angry rants does not make you in the Majority. I would recommend branching your circle of majority to include people not in your guild or rolodex, of course than you might be wrong, and that might cause your whole world to come crashing down. It’s okay though when you recover from the shock we will be here to help you.
Yes, because every person who agrees (aka the majority) with the posts of those “3 people” still posts on a game that they quit playing while ultimately being let down long ago. Instead of being bitter and upset that you represent the minority, how about accepting our input and moving on with your life? There are plenty of people who accept the fact that this game has miserably failed. There are few of us who visit this forum and post that side of the argument. Can you blame the others who don’t? Look at the result of it so far.
I realize I struck a nerve with you. I highly suggest you take time to branch out and do some research on opinions and general information on GW2. Sitting on GW2 and playing with the other 18 active players isn’t really helping you a whole lot in that regard. When you are done kicking and screaming, let me know, there are plenty of people who are familiar with good games who can help you out.

Yes there is a gap between great players and beginners… if there wasn’t the game would be about as deep as flipping a coin.
You guys totally do squirm though.People posted dozens of more pointless things in this thread, yet you don’t seem to care, because they aren’t conflicting with your opinion.

Would love to get a chance at a precursor in pvp. (cough wvw update)
Yea there is depth in a game where the same 4 teams are in the semi finals every tournament.
This thread is like a bunch of beer league softball players telling everyone they would a made the pros if they didn’t get hurt.
You sound like a member of PETA who likes to complain about pointless things and make a big deal about everything lol.
This whole thread and notion of esports with a tiny amount of actual competitive teams is pointless you are correct. Still funny though.
Thanks for the free bumps!

Super huge bump. Guild bounties are tonight 9pm EST! Come join us for a super successful run and get those commendations you need for ascended gear!
You can join us as a mercenary and rep when you do these bounties with us, or if you are interested in coming onboard to an excellent guild who covers all areas (PvE/WvW/sPvP), then you may want to consider a permanent membership. Trial runs are also accepted if you just want to see what it’s like to be in Valor Zeal. Happy Wednesday!
Hey, if you just want to party up sometime, I can add you to the Academy of the Mists which is a guild repository of highly interested tpvpers. It’s a no-rep guild so you just contact whoever you’d like to start a party. We also have a ts3 server!
Shoutcasting depth on a boring and poorly made PvP game.
Good idea!
sorry, there is no depth in this game. it’s capture points. there will be depth if GvG is implemented. Until then, no.
Calling a game boring with no depth without ever playing it at a high level.
Good idea!
1. This game is boring with no depth.
2. There is no high level PvP in this game. Your notion of “high level” is relative. The PvP community is very small in GW2 – High level does not exist.
3. I’ve played at a higher level in PvP than you can fathom.
4. Seeing the small PvP community squirm when the majority opinion gets pointed out is a very entertaining thing to watch.
1. You have no depth! Jk, but seriously, it has more depth than you realize, you just haven’t found it yet.

I watched an hour or so recently (was it this Sat? I had a long weekend and it all kinda blurs together, to be honest), so I know what the OP means. I definitely expected more from the commentary. I haven’t PvPed in GW2 yet and I had taken a long leave from the game, so I wanted to see how things are in terms of builds, profs being used (apparently rangers are useful these days), tactics, etc. There wasn’t much of that at all, at least while I was watching.
Given that GW2 is very confusing to the uninitiated (team fights especially are a visual soup of effects and jumping figures that I can’t even begin to decipher despite having spent 500 hrs playing the game) the casters have to compensate, so they will have to be effin amazing.
At the same time I understand that these are first steps for most of the people involved, so I’m willing to be patient. I’m worried however that the format may turn out to be inherently problematic (as Blu himself admitted), as the action is split between locations and some plays may be too fast to be spotted. Time will tell, I guess.
I think they should have a click-able option to show the last 5 moves a character does so if something of note pops up, you can easily switch your camera or a map indication of where battles are going if you toggle it on.
1. They are actually in a really good spot. I am not an engi main, but the most popular build is the HGH. In higher levels of play, you may want to consider going to the intothemists.com forums and looking up the top team builds (it should be pinned and I’d link it but I’m at work)
2. BM Ranger is the most popular build atm. You can also look at the pro player builds similarly on the intothemists.com forum thread.
3. Warrior and Necro are on the lowest tier but all classes can still be used (cept maybe warrior) in higher levels of play except builds are somewhat limited still. If you want to play pro with all classes cept warrior, you will be able to but you may have to conform to certain builds. If you want variety, that will probably come later with much anticipated balances coming in.
4. It depends on how motivated you are. There are resources and many lists of people looking for players and players looking for teams. Use them and get one together. Although most players want flexible and experienced players atm.
If you want to be added ASAP. Send me an in-game mail and I’ll add you right away. Due to a lot of non-gw2 related work, I may not be able to double-check whether everyone has made it until later. Android will give an update if he adds anyone as well.
I agree that as of now there’s a huge gap between the established “pro teams” and the newer competitive teams/guilds, and with the current structure in place teams from these two categories aren’t really encouraged to face each other. However, I’d be very interested to see some of these matches and therefore it’d be nice if you wouldn’t feel so discouraged about the cast. I do hope you will keep your heads up and I’ll definitely be supporting you guys next tournament!
Haha, no worries, we are definitely going to become a lot more competitive and the Academy is more of a repo of various new players so the team may change dramatically per tournament we are allowed to sign up for. I just wish I learned something new other than the fact that the other team has better teamwork! lol.
I think the casters did a great job, but I do believe they need more experience with analysis.
I led the Academy of the Mists team for this past MMORPG Invitation. We were humbly invited to sign up by Bas and immediately knew we were out of our leagues to begin with, but in order to fill up the brackets in the short time, we were going to give it our best shot.
We are a new team, and have much less experience than any of the other teams. Given that, I was really looking forward to re-watching our matches to get more feedback on what we could have done better as a team. What types of plays we missed, and what types of engagements we should go for and not go for. What types of team comps we should’ve used. Etc.
However, that was not the case. In fact, I would probably never want to watch those horrid recorded minutes ever again in my life. I believe casters should respect all teams that play, no matter what. I can understand some fun in picking out some very bad plays, but almost the entire stream as a huge ‘You Guys Suck’ commentary, which is very discouraging to say the least to take that next step into becoming a better team.
I believe any team willing to compete should be given an equal, objective analysis. I assure you we weren’t trying to ‘troll’ the viewers or the other team in any of the plays we were doing. We wanted to try different tactics and we weren’t used to fighting such organized teams. It was also mostly my fault for not being able to manage the team that well so that made me even more eager to be able to learn something from the cast to replay back to my teammates for future tournaments. In addition, we were super nervous. It was our first tournament with 3k~ viewers.
Thanks for taking your time to cast Blu and Grouch. But I really hope you consider being more professional when less experienced teams start appearing in bigger tournaments.

Much better synergy. Although the missing 5 points in Virtues does break my heart a little :’)
Quickly Join a Hotjoin match with a friend
Is your friend in a hotjoin and you have no idea what server he’s playing on? Just make sure you added him to your friend’s list and right click on him in your party or on your friend’s list and select “Join Friend in PvP”.
Someone didn’t get a Roster Invite Pop-up
If you right-click the person on your roster, you can “Kick them from Roster”, and then if you right click on them in your party, you can “Invite to Roster” to resend the roster invite to them. You can do this instead of disbanding and re-inviting everyone.
Pre-Game Character Switch
You can switch characters before the game starts when you have a match. Do not switch characters before you get matched up—you will be removed from the Roster automatically. When the pop-up comes to your screen where it says your match is ready and it has a “Go Now” button, that indicates you have a match, so you are free to switch now if you want.
PvP Window
You can disband a party, go to your match, and view your party on the pvp window (the one you use to access heart of the mists).
ok… ready for this? take a stunbreaker.. they break stuns. Let them stack whatever they stack on you and use your SB, or… use your SB and do a barrel roll. Just about every class has a stun breaker. “I’m using utilities that give damage” is not an excuse.
Not part of his build, how dare you give advice to his infinite knowledge of MMO gaming and unparalleled years of experience. To disagree and suggest otherwise to his absolution is blasphemy.
^ it’s taboo ya kno!
Elementalists have the ultimate stun-breaker-Mist Form. Use it. There’s also cleansing flame. Other than that, you should be able to get away with a lot considering you are an ele. Try out the bunker ele build if you are dying so much, because a dead ele < alive ele with small dps. You need to be able to adapt to certain dungeons, there isn’t a 1-build to rule them all. I know a lot of eles who have come along with me in COF p2 that never even downed. No matter how many hours you put in, or how much you think you know your ele, there is room for improvement if you can’t survive, because others can. The Anet blame game is only necessary if no ele can handle this.
First off, is this for WvW, PvE, or sPvP?
Geneerally speaking, I think you are spreading yourself too thin. I would switch 10 into zeal for 10 into radiance. Get the signet cd reduction to make signet of resolve more worth it. Plus, you get blind on virtue activation. Your uptime with burning isn’t going to make 10 in zeal worth it.
Also, there is no point in AH if you don’t go at least 5 into Virtues to get the additional boons per activation.
You only have one source of symbols, your healing symbol. But the idea of a zerker AH build is to let your boons do all the healing, so you shouldn’t have to rely on symbols—otherwise you are being really redundant (missing out on dps). There are other weapon choices you could use that would make better use of your high invested power.
I would look into 0/10/30/x/5. Switch our mace with sword or a 2-handed weapon such as GS or hammer.
Sophia!
If you want efficient speed runs, feel free to drop by Valor Zeal to grab some of our excellent members to run with. You don’t even have to join the guild if you don’t want to, VZ is always there to help! Contact me in game if you need a party!
Something about their current leaderboard system is causing this issue. I believe it mostly deals with players who (ranked low) win against players (ranked high) and in addition, haven’t played many games yet so they surge through the leaderboards. Anet is already making an effort to fix this issue.
As for the percentage…Anet only wants to show the top 1000, they believe any rank number greater than that is not significant so you are put in a percentage range. The higher percent, the closer you are to the top 1000.
Guild Bounties are tonight at 9pm EST (correct me if I’m wrong Rising Dusk)! If you guys want to get some easy rares + commendations, please join VZ as a mercenary (rep for bounties, no-rep outside bounties) or if you want to be apart of a splendid PvX guild (primarily PvE and WvW), please consider a more permanent membership!
All of our members are really helpful and super chill. Consider a trial run if you are skeptical about commitment! I promise we won’t let you down ^^.
Heya!

We do everything from world boss events to regular dungeons to fractals—and we have access to guild bounties and treks—guild rush will be available this following week. Our leader is a commander on the SBI server, so if you are interested in WvW, you are always welcomed to personally join his party to roam about borderlands or eternal battlegrounds to smite foes! I lead the PvP scene in VZ as well if your team of friends ever wants to get into that.
We do accept trial runs, so everyone can join and try us out for as long as you like, and if you like us, then you can absolutely stay! If you don’t, we won’t have any grudges if you decide to leave. Also, we don’t have a 100% repping policy, we do encourage you to rep when you do activites with the guild however (I think that makes sense? xP) but other than that, go in and out as much as you like and we’ll be there for you and your friends.
Cheers.

Heya!
If you want to be able to do everything, with a small close-knight crowd—you may want to consider Valor Zeal (on StormBluff Isle)! VZ is a PvX guild, but mostly focus on PvE and WvW. We have a small playerbase but have the strength of 400 players (may have exaggerated, but the will is there!). All of our members know each other on a main character basis (haha get it? maybe not) and we make sure to always get together to tackle new content, dungeons, and WvW. I lead the PvP scene of VZ if you are interested in that as well.
Let me know what you think and feel free to PM me if you want to go for a trial run! If you want to see what kind of persona you would be led under, look up Rising Dusk in forums—he’s always active and making sure he keeps up to date with what’s going on around, let alone being a very pleasant fellow.
Hey Lavaeis,
I think the reason no one got back to you was because you posted really late in the night! Which most people in NA at least are either playing or sleeping.
But anywho! If you want people who play with and have fun with on this extraordinary game, then please consider joining Valor Zeal! We do PvE, WvW, and I lead our PvP group. So you will have access to pretty much everything, including guild missions!
Our members are super friendly and chill and very knowledgable—so if there is anything you need, let me know. Don’t give up yet! Fight on!
Awesome spreadsheet. Just something to change for me, I am looking for a consistent team, and my availability is 1-5pm and 9pm-12pm both PST weekdays, all day weekends.
Updated! I will make the spreadsheet a lot more presentable later, but feel free to find anybody also looking for a team and whatnot who’s on the sheet.
Hey Guys,
I have updated our spreadsheet up to page 2 in this thread, I will continue later to get anyone new who posted on page 3. Let me know if you find any information about you incorrect!

Could we please stop calling sPvP an eSport, when it has nothing to do with eSports. At least yet. I mean, it can barely be refereed to as a popular game at the moment, so it really just comes of as sounding ignorant. It’s equivalent to calling yourself an NBA player, after you’ve played basketball for a few months.
There’s no point in hijacking a thread to make a complaint. Popularity is one thing for an e-sport, but all you really need is competition. This effort is trying to build a community of competitors who actually enjoy this game and want to get better regardless of many pending balance changes that may or may not be needed. I am sorry if your personal preference differs than most in this thread, but if so, just don’t ever click on it anymore. But if you want to connect with friendly pvpers who want to get better and eventually partake in e-sport competitions that are being held soon then feel free to join.
I’m not questioning the effort, just the choice of name. If you want outside people to take this seriously, you need to be realistic about the state of the game, instead of promoting it as something which it’s clearly not ready to be, yet. That is all I’m saying. eSport is a label that is earned, and that has a sense of prestige attached to it.
I think you are being too sensitive to a simple name choice. I think the amount of effort Bas/Shawn and the others have put into establishing a competitive community, they have the right to use whatever name they want. Who are you to judge?
Anyways, to the rest of the people reading this thread, google doc should be finished up today! It will have a list of everyone who signed up and all the information everyone provided in a easy to access/read format. We will soon use this information to build a calendar for you guys to view or start scheduling people to practice with each other. I am impressed at the number of sign ups thus far. (And that’s why it’s taking awhile to record the info!) Keep it up!

Am I missing something here?
Yes. You’re missing the fact that no one gives a flying kitten about rewards in PvP.
Without rewards, why would anyone play? And how else would you determine what is the “end game”?
You may say that people play “just for fun”, but that’s not true. Take away any and all rewards including drops, armor etc from an MMO and see what happens.
People will play to improve, to test their skill or to have fun. This is not PvE, so rewards are not needed. What are the rewards for winning a Dota game? What are the rewards for winning a Counter Strike game? Right, there is none.
Players who materialize PvP in any game, are either playing the wrong game, or playing the game wrong.
Lots of people here agree that PvP in GW1 was far superior to what we have here. And we had plenty of rewards. Chests for consecutive wins that had the possibility to drop awesome stuff, Zaishen keys using which you could open the zaishen chest for even more cool gear, a whole bunch of accomplishments and bragging rights.
“Fun” is nice, sure. But rewards are better.
Rewards is for fun. Trying to be the best is a challenge. And instead of being indirect, why not just write a thorough post on what kinds of rewards you’d like to have instead of just aimlessly causing conflict. I am pretty sure everyone knows what PvP equates to.
Not to be disrespectfull but thats just your opinion and no more valid then his opinion. There are many many people that want more rewards for pvp at least as many that just play to be the best of the best. Ok I have very limited time to play this game I know I will never be the best of the best. I don’t always have time to coordinate groups and I solo queue way too oftent to climb the ladder much. I would like more rewards for the success I do have. Any way you slice it imo the rewards for spvp and tpvp are sadly lacking.
I am not putting down his opinion. I am making a claim that his post does nothing constructive. What rewards do you want? How would the system work? I mean, you can’t just say you want something and not give reasons why. I could just keep on throwing my opinion back at him or you for that matter—rewards are good enough in pvp, which are the skins you get from winning. But if you disagree, then I won’t stop you. Make a good post with details on what you mean. Saying other games have it (have what specifically?) and that gw1 had a much better system (I never played gw1 and this is a gw2 forum so you need to specify) is very ambiguous. I am not against better rewards, I just don’t know what possible rewards we could possibly get PvP related that would be much better than the system now. I guess gems could work but then people would farm tpvp for it which is probably something Anet doesn’t want.

It’s pvp though. Not PvE. If you took away those rewards in PvE, yes, all hell would break loose. But if irc, pvp games don’t revolve on rewards that much. They are just a nice addition.
Edit: the only significant reward should be increasing your MMR or rating on leaderboards. Now arguging whether the leaderboards is good or not atm is a diff story.

I think you should be able to click on anyone that you can see and have their hp/identity pop up at the top like it normally does if you were playing and clicked on them. Sometimes I just want to see their boons/hp without having to scour them on the left/right panels.
I think you looking at pvp with pve lenses. The major aspect of PvP isn’t about farming glory and ranking up, it’s about being the best of the best. And you can’t earn that kind of respect with hotjoins.
Everyone, I will have a public google document available for everyone’s schedules today. I will also send a in-game mail message containing a list of people who fall under your schedule.
I haven’t gotten an invite yet.
I’ll help Android out and double-check the invites later today. I’ll be back online in 5 hrs.
Hm, what time is that in NA EST?
Common Misconception: Stun Break & Immobilize Condition
Stun breaks do not neutralize the immobilize condition. You need a condition remover for it. Strangely enough immobilize is not listed as a control effect.
I will get a google document going for all the people who have listed their information here so we can organize a schedule. I highly encourage everyone to hop onto our ts3 server which should be listed on the guild message of the day. If you do not have a guild invite from Android, let me know or if you want to join AOTM, let me know as well, either way we will coordinate together and the TS3 server is shared among both.
I will be discussing with Shawn later today about making the TS3 more public, but we want to make sure we can handle high volume so it doesn’t crash.
Once you have the TS3 url, please invite any tpvp intrested friends or guildies to join! Loiter in the lobby, talk about stuff in general discussion or grab a room with your tpvp team. If you want a channel specifically for your team, let me know. And most importantly, NA AND EU are welcomed.
