that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”
Hawks
Since people want this feature SO bad, I think the most likely prospect is Anet will use it as a selling point for a future expac. I just hope they include it on the next one, and not in the third or fourth.
It would be fun, just to fight with and agains humans only. (^.^)
Woah. Your fun and my fun can’t be more opposite!
Sorry, I know this reply doesn’t add anything valuable to the thread, but I was just so surprised by your comment I cant help it.
Cheers!
Opening a mod scene is never bad for games and players, IMO. It could not be so good for developers, though…
I can’t even coordinate with enough people to try the Vale Guardian, and the few times I tried everyone just walked out the door. Can’t imagine any pleasure doing even more punishing stuff.
Actually, writing or saying mechanics in an all direct and clear way is more babysitting than insinuating them in a intuitive way. The pre-encounter doesn’t fail because lack of babysitting, but because of lack of care in the practical application of the mechanics.
Here’s a good video that “explains” this way better than me. Enjoy.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FpigqfcvlM
Heart of Coal, maybe?
To explain is the damaged, cheap and clumsy cousin of to imply.
Some people mute some sounds of the game to play, other don’t put attention to dialogues, other don’t properly understand them (I play the game in english because I hate dubbing , but I don’t understand it well unless I’m giving it full attention).
Anyway, the “preparation fight” was poorly done and really misleading. Should they fix it, the problem with the justicar will instantly dissapear.
The fight is ok, but the way they show us how to use the mechanic is flawed.
The elementals ficght give me the idea I had to attack while receiving the red beam. I got to totally rethink everything I was doing to understand the red beam alone had to be used againt the boss shield, before attacking.
Also, the extra button is an extremely annoying, interface unfriendly and overall lazy and bad idea.
It’s not very intuitive, but isn’t hard once you figure it out. You need to control the beam, and pass it through the barrier for a few secs. You don’t need to get close to her, either.
All this is great, and I congratulate you both for your kindness and effort.
However, I think is not the best idea to post player account, character names or any info that could identify them, directly in the forum. You are risking doing harm to your Angel if any envious or stupid bully decide to use the data to molest.
Be careful.
Also try to anounce when an event is complete. It is very anoying to read an event call only to find it was finished more than 10 minutes before.
Pokemon games are about forcing creatures into cages to later make them kill each other. Its like dog-fighting with fictional creatures, very educational.
I like everything except the weapon swap. Good work!
I don’t even understand what you are saying. How could they use the beam without reversing the magic first?
Wow. I’m not going to decide anything until we know more!
I hope they add some new maps with more flat spaces for people who like them. As long as they don’t stop adding verticality too, I don’t mind.
BAD button. Really unnecesary, really ugly, a cheap solution also taken from a bad game.
Get rid of it, please Anet. You can do better.
I’ll represent the opposite party here.
While wings are pretty and mystic kits can somehow replace the copper fed salvage machine, truth is I DO enjoy way more using the salvage convenience than the ubiquituous and inescapable wings every one spam in their toons.
Wings will come and go, and you’ll grow tired of them at some point in the future. They will obstruct and difficult your performance at jumping challenges, and will irk people around you, specially on dungeons and fractals.
Every single time you use it, the salvage kit will give you peace in front of the constant influx of trash this game puts into our inventories: You’ll know, once you have it, you will never again have to depend on mystic stones, vendors, proper levels or any other thing to be relieved of the crap. You’ll be free.
I play WoW like 1 time each month. In a table. With dice. Using D&D 5th edition rules .
That’s it.
When I tried to play it in the computer I got a gigantic attack of acute boredom fever hte third day. I don’t like to feel sick when I’m playing in the PC, so I’ve never tried again.
I have a Human Female Rev. I want to make her a monk-demoness in the style of the Aesma from Kill Six Billion Demons, but I can´t make her dark-blue enough, nor can I make her bald.
We’ll have more data to examine when the 2nd chapter gets published. In the meantime, sadly, we can’t assume anything. We’ll see… later.
Time is not free. Farming is never “cheap” (Unless you are truly having fun, in wich case, is not really farming).
A massive high tech shotgun for the rifle wielders, shorter than the Predator, but way more thicker. Think of absurdly brutal Judge Dredd style weapons.

I really think DPS is NOT the problem…
Gadgets really need to become the “engi signet”. It really fits the concept, IMO.
Something the engi wears and can be overloaded to provide extra effects then go on a CD.
So utility googles could give passive ferocity
rocket boots increase endurance regen (or 25% speed)
slick shoes gives 25% speed (or increase endurance regen)
battering ram gives passive power
AED removes a condition every 10s
(EDIT) Throw Mine adds a 33% chance to trigger a small explosion on auto-attacks (1s CD)I dont think this is a complex change to implement, since all the mechanics are already in game, and it would make gadgets much nicer and useful.
Elegant, smart and realistic. Fantastic.
Add more mastery points, add more hero points, then add more ways to expend them.
This is no rocket science: more alternatives is always good.
Salvage pit was so extremely easy I didn’t even undertanded when it ended. All the others have different grades of difficulty, more or less possible to do, but none is beatable the first time without any effort like salvage pit.
There is clearly an enormous problem in the difficulty balance of these things. Also, I don’t understand why aren’t they part of the normal activities of the map.
I hated the extra button. Was it really necesary to add a new input, when a single “F” activation would have been enough? Please don’t use it this way again.
Also, the bloodstone constructs fought too close to the shards, so it was not clear how I broke their armors. It costed me 2 deaths to understand I had to use the beam against the justicar.
Verdant Brink is still my favourite map. I find it really amazing to explore. Tangled Depths is filled with beautiful landscapes too, including some literally vertical ones.
From old Tyria I liked old Lion’s Arch the most. While I find most of them nice to view, I can’t see them as really complete maps, because they are too flat… Caledon Forest and Southsun Cove are probably the best maps from Core Tyria for me right now, but none compares to the magnificence of the new maps.
Paperwork. Paperwork is always worse than exile, dishonor or death.
(But what Nightbringer Tenchi said also sounds plausible.)
Great thread, I’ll add here my own congratulations to the GW2 Wiki team: guys (and gals, of course) YOU ROCK.
i had a similar issue today and the event failed, he then ran off but i was able to chase him down and kill him as the shield and seekers had gone and he was just like a normal vet and it counted for the story.
Same for me, really. It was somewhat anticlimatic.
Woah.
15 kittens!!!
Swimsuits are perfectly immersive… IYKWIM.
Seriously, NPCs use swimsuits in southsun cove, while we are forced to dive in undies whenever we try to do the google jumps. Not being able to use a proper swimsuit when you need it is way more stupid than to use them to go into battle.
The “impracticality” argument is moot in this case, because every player already has the option to go into battle in underwear, or using any of a huge selection of outfits and armor that are even less protective than any normal swimsuit.
Finally, @Galtrix, your Morals aren’t superior to mine or Ellies, so they cancel out. We are then forced to use Ethics to settle the discussion, and Ethics will, without any doubt, declare your stance on this topic is unreasonable.
What does it means recipes are now account bound? Can I open a Minstrel Jewelry box with a toon that doesn’t have the jeweler craft and still gain the recipe for the one who does have it?
It doesn’t even matter if Norn and Humans have a common origin or not.
What matter is that Norn and KRYTAN culture are different. Different enough to have clearly distinguishable aesthetics, and therefore, different enough to need separated hairstyles.
As I said before, this doesn’t imply hairstyles shouldn’t be re-utilized across different playable races. It just imply Anet needs to make the effort to adjust some details here and there to make any re-utilized style properly localized to the culture which will use it.
TLDR: No matter geneticsNorn and Krytan cultures are different. Hairstyles should be shared across races as long as each one is properly adjusted to the new user culture.
I was doing this by myself yesterday, and there were only 3 seekers making my life hard.
Then 2 other players appeared in the zone and BOOM, there spawned like 12 more seekers, and everything went downhill in just a couple of seconds. It was still fun to lose that way.
Oh, YES: More savepoints on the Journal instances, and the option to skip video and dialog sequences after the first time you play them. This is REALLY NEEDED, specially when doing hard achievements in season 2 (Maldito Windmane!)
Also, no more punish-cage in the last Mordi battle, it’s plain stupid.
I agree with Chasind: IMO, all the hairstyles could be shared, BUT only after being properly localized for each curlture.
About the height… I think older faces and voices are way more needed than kid-able height.
I will never get why Eir didn’t transform into her animal form and jumped against that vinetooth to die fighting with theet and claws like any normal Norn would have done.
My Asura also said she died in battle. I think it is true, although is more like she died “during a battle” than she died “while fighting”.
Build templates.
Weapon and backpack dyeing.
Keyring.
Gemstore mining/gathering/logging tools automatically equiped on every toon. (Or make them “equiped” by simply being in your inventary, so you can put them in a shared slot and don’t worry anymore).
Bigger weapons on Asura, so they are visible.
On/off checkbox for boots (and chestpieces and pants, why not.)
Did the speech your commander gives at the remembrance contain the proper Norn localization? Because with my Asura she did mention the Eternal Alchemy. It was very nice.
Problem is I’m too used to healing turret… XD
Thank you again for the 5 new emotes. We still nedd much more, but this is awesome!
/thanks
I have been playing a shotgun-flamethrower build with scrapper, tools and firearms for the last 5 months, simply because the hammer bores me. It was nowhere near meta, but fun. Now it may be a little better if I lear how to use gadgets. Meh.
Thanks for removing entire ele pvp population from game.
I supose you are being sarcastic. If you don’t… well, I’m grateful too!
THANK YOU ANET. Just this 5 emotes means a world for RPers, so really, really thank you.
Can’t say anything more except: please keep going!
Just 1 other thing I think is very important for Engies:
GENERAL
“Most skills will now attempt to activate as soon and frequently as possible so long as their inputs are held down. This also applies to most ground-targeted skills when instant ground targeting is used.”
I don’t think that.
If I were able to see that by letting 100 people die I can save 1000 in the future, I’ll probably chose to do it. I’ll be saving 900, so I think that will be the lesser of two evils.
Yet I will still be FULLY responsible for the deaths of those 100. I would be a passive murderer, a criminal and a monster, and I would deserve every and all the sentences thay gave me later.
Being able to see better developments in the future doesn’t make you less guilty for what you do today.
Asura are superior, cynical and very, very egotistical. But they are not stupid. They know when their toes are piercing their boots.
